fave of the ones that I’ve tried; starts out like a cherry cough drop then quickly the styrax rises and this is a resinous smoked cherry like what you use to smoke meats with a little juice thrown on top

Gothic smoky parfum… An old abandoned church,in the air a fog is seen of smoke,a spectral and gothic landscape … all this reappears after hearing it, it is a truly majestic and complex perfume. She is scared, transmits to the subconscious something mysterious. Is not intrusive and the note of cherry while being very obvious is not in the foreground… it feels every listed note. Has a moderate sillage and a good longevity. I’ve never heard anything like that, great!
Sillage: 6.5/10
Longevity: 8./10
Scent: 9/10
Overall: 9./10

I first off must say that you either vibe with Ikirýo or you don’t. I, most definitely, do. Vincent’s talent and creativity with every aspect of these fragrances is outstanding. From the gorgeous and unique bottles to the amazing one of a kind containers they come in and the gorgeous art books that have been created for each perfume, telling the story of that scent. The artistry is quite evident. The most important piece, the perfume, is glorious. I have been fortunate to be able to sample several of Vincent’s creations (thanks to his overwhelming generosity) and I have fallen in love with his work. Everything I have smelled is gorgeous. They are quite exceptional fragrances with such unique note compositions which are masterfully constructed (the fact that they mesh perfectly with my chemistry doesn’t hurt either.) Ikirýo perfumes truly are “Gothic Gourmands”, as many have called them, practically a category unto themselves.
Lucidité is the ever elusive dark cherry fragrance I have been searching for (to no avail)… until now. Succulent, sweet dark cherries soaked in liquor. Sticky, syrupy juice of ripe dark fruits with whispers of resinous incense burning in the background. Myrrh, benzoin and styrax are the bed on which the cherries lay. Laced with aromatic green cardamom pods and honeyed immortelle. Hints of tobacco and woody notes in the dry down round out the base of the composition. This is a very dark gothic, bordering on baroque, fragrance. It smells very nocturnal and slightly seductive…almost erotic in a “loss of innocence” kind of way. Nearly naughty. This is like a perfume version of Gothic Lolita.
Layers of black lace….corsets are optional.

I preface this review by saying that we should always honor the madcaps. We need more people like this in the world. Give them the benefit of the doubt for they may see their genius abstractedly. This Vincent dude is a weird cat but so is Edgar Allen Poe, Michele Lamy, and Phillip Seymour Hoffman. The other people are proven but let’s see if the Dreamhouse honcho is a contender, pretender or dare I say a dreamer….
When i received my package, I was floored by the presentation. I felt like a kid at Christmas time. It was nothing i’ve ever seen from a creative standpoint. The tube, the dried leaves, the book, the faux ivy filler and last but not least the bottle girdled by a corset. The display alone deserves a standing ovation. I had no idea that I was sleepwalking until I sniffed the fragrance itself. As soon as the chemical cherry deodorizer of a note hit my nose, I woke the hell up from my slumber. At this point, i’m in disbelief. How can something that looks so creative, so cool, so avant garde, so thirst quenching smell so elementary? Wow on top of Wow!! Back to this notorious cherry note..What makes this so God awful is that it’s not even a sexy cherry smell. It’s like a Shell gas station floor cleaner or better yet, a flavored fungicide used in hospitals, nursing homes and what have you. The chemical cherry note doesn’t last long but that’s not saying much because the rest of the fragrance is just as brief. Once the cherry note dissipates, you are left with a jumbled mess..and when i say mess, I MEAN MESS! Included in that disarray is musk and woods(which are barely detectable). No sillage, No projection and No creativity(I can’t believe that i’m saying this. I can almost cry)…and the bottle looked SO promising. I guess the saying is correct. Never judge a book by its….you know the rest. I’m sitting here pissed off. I’m $125 dollars in the hole with the Shell gas station bathroom on my arm..SMH! I’m 0-3 for the house of Ikiryo. The other fragrance i found uneventful was Oneirogen. Magie Sexualle is another synthetic tire fire. Get at me if you want to swap for Lucidite. I will be more than happy to release it to the wild.

Every now and then i see on the forums. A post about gothic perfumes. I believe the ikiryo house of fragrances will appease your appetite for such a scent.
This fragrance starts off with a cherry and myrrh blend that will entice your senses. Partially sweet, semi dusty and definitely balsamic. The scent evokes in my mind an aroma i have smelled before in life. But not in another fragrance.
it’s from when i was a child and my mum burned frankincense and myrrh.
That familiarity that is ever so present in the background.
This scent may sound dark from my intro. But i assure you it is very comforting.
As and artist. I stand behind it’s creative aspects.
The fragrance has good longevity and good sillage.
And overall i really like this scent.
So if you are into the more artistic fragrances i really do implore you to try this scent and the house of ikiryo.
Kind regards. Lj
