I haven’t even looked at the price but if you have to be concerned about such things….you can’t afford it, and I can’t afford it. I usually wait until I’ve worn a fragrance a couple of times or at least until the latter stages before even contemplating a review but this one had me excited. I let out an audible, semi orgasmic sigh of absolute satisfaction when I first sprayed this. Roja Dove’s London is supreme, the reason for this is clear right from the start…possibly my favourite ingredient…Labdanum. London screams labdanum, the opening is sharp, making your nose tingle and the intense resinous nature is immediately apparent. The opening is beautiful and combines a host of other notes clove, cardamom saffron but frankly they are short lived and the life of this fragrance is in the incense.
It’s a heady mixture which changes all the while from effervescent olibanum/galbanum to darker chunkier more spiced tones of tolu balsam and then the dry, dusty benzoin. I think that’s just the wonderful nature of labdanum, it’s kinda all those things at the same time. The base is soft deep deep woods I think there’s even a hint of vanilla in there just to round out what is an excellent fragrance. The performance was good as expected and opening aside, the transitions even within an accord of resins just speak to how complex they are in their own right. I loved Roja Dove’s London and if money was no object I’d buy it tomorrow.

This just happens to be my scent of the barbershop. I don’t know why I reached for this scent, I didn’t make a conscious decision and correlate London with a barbershop, it was a mere coincidence. As I sit here, waiting for my haircut, I couldn’t help but notice that this is the perfect fragrance for this occasion…the scent in the air of gentle “masculinity”, the shave soap, the soft, spicy, powdery, talc trailing the air, barbicide, clubman aftershave….YES !!!! Roja London is very warm, inviting, and quite comfortable to wear. It is masculine and has soft-ever-so-slightly-sweet-spicy amber-like qualities. The labdanum is unmistakable and appears to steal the show here. Underneath it all, London is supported by soft florals and a light wafting of incense. I suspect the benzoin is responsible for the resinous-vanilla-like sweet aroma that never leaves this scent. I can see the previous posters resemblance/mention of Reckless Pour Homme’s fresh-spicy nuances but this is more delicate and much more “polished.” I don’t detect “leather” but I would agree that there is a smooth-supple-suede in this composition. Fans of following: Le Labo Benjoin 19, Le Labo Labdanum 18, Tom Ford Amber Absolute, Profumum Ambra Aurea, might enjoy this scent.

This is like a more tame, gentle version of Roja’s Reckless pour homme. Very nice and elegant, but I would choose Reckless because it has better sillage and more “power”

A very vibrant, lively city scent from Roja. Right from the start you’ll get the sage and labdanum soon after that the clove and frankincense together offer a mild sweet and spicy undertone combined with a leathery base throughout keeping it planted in a sophisticatedly masculine state. This smells very inviting. This could be a signature scent for the right person. I see this on a guy who’s a high up in the London banking industry. This guy is a regular at the well established London barber shop for a fresh shave. After work, he leaves his office, hops on his Ducati motorcycle to hit the after-hours lounges and hotspots. People want to know him and what he does for a living. This scent compliments this style of of gentleman. Men ages 35-50 I see wearing this.

This is a straight forward resinous amber and benzoin scent with lavender and incense undertones. Scent is never loud but very long-lasting like all Rojas. If you’re a fan of scents such as Lutens Ambre Sultan or TF Amber Absolute be sure to check this one out. This is a really beautiful and soft amber scent, when you catch an unexpected whiff of it you will be completely drawn to it. Another winner from Roja!
