Description

English brand Molton Brown adds to their collection Navigations Through Scent a new, limited edition dedicated to the city of London. The eccentric limited edition Londinium, has been launched as an homage to the city full of contradictions, with a scent inspired by street, city style and royal parks, aromas of malt whisky on the rocks and quality of Savile Row suits (street in London known for shops where quality tailored suits can be purchased; street known as ”the golden mine of tailor craft”).

Londinium is actually a blend of the world capital is characteristic for its notes of bergamot and juicy berries in top notes. A heart provides myrrh and green oak moss, while a base encompasses an interesting mixture of incense and malt whisky.

Londinium is available as 50ml, in a flacon shaped just luxurious flacons of Molton Brown from the Navigations Trough Scent collection (with the difference in color of the stopper wrapping sides of the flacon, colored in color of gold this time).

On the tag, below name of the fragrance, you can see coordinates, with name of the collection written underneath. Londinium was launched in 2012.

This fragrance is a sexy, delicious, stands out…Shit, Joop! Pour Homme just got replaced, smh. This is now my signature scent.
This gem of a fragrance just pulled off a coup d’etat for my heart and won.
A moment of silents for Joop! Pour Homme…
Alright back to the review…This is a sexy beast.
No one will smell like this around you.
That whiskey note mixed with the wild berries & incense.
    Muah, lovely!
Don’t get me wrong the other notes are there too, but they blend in with the background so well.
Why did I find out about this gem, so late in the game?
    Just, why?!
I blind bought this one, because of the reviews and the note breakdown. I’m happy that i did.
I can see someone wearing a suit, preppy type of look, hipster or semi-casual.
Got many compliments from people at work (but I’m known as the fragrance guy at work, so those don’t count) and on the train to work, I got two unsolicited compliments…
So I’m on cloud nine right now.
Overall this is a must-have in your collection.
It stands out, it’s sweet, fruity, boozy, smoky & mature scent. In the world of Sauvage Christian Dior, Bleu de Chanel, Aventus Creed, The One Dolce&Gabbana, 1 Million & Invictus Paco Rabanne…This gem is a must, smell better than the rest and be different.
I used six sprays…both wrist, back & front of my neck, chest, and front of my shirt.
    Will I buy this again?…YES!
Does this fragrance enter BEAST MODE, good, just okay or weak sauce at best? BEAST MODE! For once I don’t need to carry a travel atomizer to respray it.
What’s the strength of this? EDT.
Am i willing to trade this fragrance? NO!
Should You Skipped It, Sample It First or Blind Buy It? Blind Buy Worthy Hands Downs!
Can you use it as a unisex scent? No.
Is it the old, new formulation? Old.
What’s its availability; in production, limited edition or discontinued? This was discontinued. It started as a limited edition fragrance, but I guess it didn’t meet sale requirements. So if you see it anywhere, buy and keep this gem for yourself or flip it.
Update: I was able to get an official five pack of 2ML sample vials, Yes!

….THIS stuff is amazing!!!! If you combine the sweetness of Kenneth Cole Signature with the smokiness of Creed’s Royal Oud even the leathery smokiness of Spicebomb, you have Londinium.
I bought this as a blind buy. This fragrance is so captivating; I think this is masculine in smell, yet a female could pull this off. I would also say this is similar to HiM by Hanae Mori, yet unique!

Comparisons to Jubilation XXV (I’ve seen a couple below) are unfounded really, other than Londinium containing notes of berries and resin. The truer comparison came to me pretty much instantly. Despite thinking I have a fairly vast knowledge of fragrances now I often go completely blank when I try things in store. What usually happens is that I know a scent smells familiar but can’t place it right away. Londinium however was instant…’squirt’….”Spicebomb?…No…Gucci PHII!”
That’s it folks Londinium is a sparkling thick, berry like, sweet spiced opening but with all the metallic tea and everything from PHII but definitely hyped up. Londinium is more boozy and not as musky and aloof as the Gucci but no where near as blatant and sledgehammer like as Spicebomb, It’s a really good balance.
However, the fact that I own both of the comparison scents is slightly off putting but that’s not to say Londinium doesn’t have it’s own unique charms and allure because it definitely does.
Lasting power was average to pretty good and the fruity top notes stayed strong for several hours which is a big plus.

I’ll probably be lambasted for this comparrison, but to me this is the mass-market version of Amouage’s Jubilation. Molton Brown’s Londinium is great for the day-to-day of life; Amouage’s Jubliation is what you settle down with late at night after several glasses of wine.
Londinium is great, and K1 is right, it has a wonderful opening, but to me this settles down to a classy, young professional’s fragrance. Jubilation belongs to an experienced professional with an established career.

Another of my MB favourites, I could smell this all day its so gorgeous! I’m just so so disappointed with its poor longevity, which is such a shame, because if the staying power was greater, I could definitely see this as one of my everyday juices. Not smelled any perfume quite like this one, but I am reluctant to purchase this one again, £75 for 50ml bottle. It would be great if MB could re-formulate it to last longer, but most reformulations lose a little bit of what made the originals so good. Londinium and Lijang are probably the two of The Navigations Through Scents range with the poorest longevity.

Just bought this today as most Stores in the UK have been out of stock for a while. So when my local Fenchurch Street received 5 boxes I purchased immediately and all I can say is, it was well worth the wait.
When you hear of Molton Brown you associate this brand with shower, shampoo, room scents and moisturisers. However, they have done wonders with this fragrance.
If you use a couple of light walk on sprays you can get away with using this during the day in the office without offending anyone, (not that it will mind) but it really comes out when applying in the evening as its a very yummy scent, not too sweet but very moreish with it’s malty whiskey blend mixed with the sweetness, very unlike the A-Men Pure Malt, but with a marzipan (i know… maybe its my nose playing games) sweetness. If you can, pop in a Molton Brown store and try it out, the only thing you may regret is that it may not be in stock.

This is balmy, woody, citrusy, and sweet. I liked it when I smelled it. Great for night time use. It would be nice if it came in an intense version. Good quality perfume. Try it.

I happily accepted a sample of Londinium from the sales lady as I hoped this uni-sex scent would be my answer to the question, “What perfume could I wear that would be appropriate and attractive on a woman and not be floral?” Having doused myself liberally with the scent and spending a few hours in it, I can say it’s definitely quite overtly undoubtedly masculine. So, while I am still catching whiffs of Londiniym on myself, all I can do is pretend I deliberately borrowed my lover’s cologne to feel him near me while he’s away on a long business trip. Ahhh…

To me Londinium is a lighter version of Gucci Pour Homme II. Of course, the whiskey note is no more than pure marketing. Or maybe whyskey is the same as tea in Gucci? I feel tobacco in the base with a beautiful fruitiness around.
Gucci Pour Homme II is still in the shops, so I don’t find a reason to buy Londinium as it is 3 times more expensive.

I had the chance to try Londinium in London,I really like the name by the way! There’s a huge blast of whiskey coming out of the bottle when you first spray it,I don’t get oakmoss or berries but yes,I do get a small dose of myrrh. Well,it’s mostly about whiskey and myrrh to me.I would call it ‘Scotch with ice’.My only BIG complaint is the lasting power and the weakness,it becomes weak more and more until it fades..It’s such a pity because it starts so promising. If you’re having issues with longevity maybe you should get a sample first and see on your own..Overall,I think that it’s a safe scent, you can’t go wrong with it or dislike it.

I have a sample of Londinium and I think it’s really nice. It opens with red berries and bergamont and gets mossy due to the big dollop of oakmoss. With this is the incense/ myrhh mixing in gives the fragrance a mossy resinous feel, the whisky note seems to be blended really well with the red berry accord which is quite prominent. And it is quite refreshing especially in the opening.
As time progresses the berry note recedes and you are left with a mossy incense accord on your skin. The only thing is that it stays quite close to you and the projection could be better. But I like this a lot it is really nice and does not overwhelm, the oakmoss adds a lot to this fragrance.

This is a limited edition, and although skeptical at first, I really like this! Credited as a uni-sex fragrance I do really struggle to see the appeal to the ladies here. It’s a woody, leather smelling musky scent, that is actually well balanced, and very easy to wear. Smells very masculine to me, and the tobacco note is glorious! Imagine leather chairs, and a oldy worldy smoke filled genteleman’s club. Really rather pleasant. Do snap it up before it disappears.
