Description

The challenge for Philippe Di Méo , the founder of the brand, was about to create a fruit that would reflect the spirit of Liquides Imaginaires. Far from the sweet and girly fruits that we usually find in perfumery, L ’Ile Pourpre exudes a mysterious trail, that expresses the audacious and mystical brand’s identity. Inspired by the idea of an unknown fruit, the perfumer Nadège Le Garlantezec, has imagined a black and sensual fig. Refreshed by the aromatic top notes of shiso, twisted by the spicy tones of ginger, this fig get dressed of a liquorous charm thanks to davana, to lay down a woody bed (cedarwood, incense, ambroxan).
L’Ile Pourpre by Les Liquides Imaginaires is a Chypre Fruity fragrance for women and men. This is a new fragrance. L’Ile Pourpre was launched in 2016. The nose behind this fragrance is Nadege Le Garlantezec. Top notes are shiso, angelica, bergamot and ginger; middle notes are fig, fenugreek and artemisia; base notes are cedar, patchouli, cashmeran, ambroxan and whipped cream. The nose behind this fragrance is Nadège Legarlantezec.

Yikes, as much as I adore it- can I sue the brand for shitty performance? It’s gone way too quickly!

The scent is absolutely amazing but sillage and projection are zero after half an hour. Such a pity.. this could be a fb worthing. Nice fig scent but so transparent..

The fragrance to me is not unlike Irene Adler to Holmes: she eclipses and predominates the whole of her type.
I shall call her “the fruity”, though it’s not fruity in any traditional sense.

cardamom, cardamom, cardamom… then FIG !
to me, this is a fine, classy blend of aesop’s marrakech and diptyque’s philosykos. toned down and well rounded.

Its obvious this is a luxe , expensive scent. Its fig is a beautiful fruity nuance, a love a first sniff. Nothing sharp or out of place, well blended. Just exquisite.

I love this scent; it makes me smell sexy, expensive and mysterious. It is gorgeous! Can’t get enough – wearing it right now! 🙂

Nice fig, woody fragrance. I wish it had more sillage but I admire the soft nature of this classy fragrance.

I almost started crying smelling this one. That is how utterly gorgeous this is. Green fig, strong boozy fruits and something herbal I cannot decide on what it is. Resinous, surely and ultra bright, yet balsamic. I adore fragrances that are paradoxical. Green, sweet, syrupy, tart, bold. So very sexy.

For all of the notes listed in its pyramid, what I get from Ile Pourpre is fairly easy to explain: It smells like a spiced fruit punch. It’s not as dark, or as heavy as I had imagined–in fact it’s fresh. Its standout accord is the black fig, which to my nose resembles plum and is accented with ginger and angelica seed. If Tom Ford’s Plum Japonais can be considered dark, syrupy, and somewhat obscured by spices, Ile Pourpre may be thought of as Plum Japonais brought into the light. While some shadows remain, the more syrupy aspect of Plum Japonais is replaced by a refreshing airiness, and the spices, rather than sitting on top of the fragrance, embellish its edges. As it dries down and settles into the base, some darker, woody tones emerge giving Ile Pourpre a kind of tranquil and composed conclusion. Even a soft incense make an appearance near the end, lending some smokiness to the wood. There is a lightness of weight to the composition that’s very attractive, and makes it an easy, comfortable wear throughout the day. Unfortunately, its downside is performance, possessing both moderate projection and longevity. While I feel its subdued projection is an asset (I wouldn’t want it to project any further), I’m not thrilled with the 4 to 5 hours of longevity I get from Ile Pourpre. Still, this one smells terrific, and I’m willing to overlook what I would consider the only flaw in an otherwise excellent fragrance. Overall, Ile Pourpre has a versatile feel, suited for days or nights, and wouldn’t seem out of place being a little dressed up. Thumbs up and recommended for sampling, especially if you are considering something with fig or plum.

I love this one, my favourite from their house and full bottle worthy, although not in the top notes I get hit with patchouli in the first instance, only for a minute or two then bang the most unusual, beautiful aroma develops! The fig is not overbearing, I get a tea note, slight ginger and a sourness that’s really enjoyable. The ambroxan and cedar are there but I what I love about this scent is that there isn’t one dominant note, you get a little of everything in the above pyramid, marvellous!
EDIT: This is a quite a linear scent and longevity is moderate on me

AI AI AI BABY… i guess they are back now and with a new Trilogy as they explained on their social media.
This one is my favorite from their collection.. it has that fig essence and describes a fancy sour sugar melts that describes a mystery of a vampire story! it is wierd but that’s what i get sniffing this.. and i get a tea note which makes it quite sour with the help of ginger.
One of the best fragrances i have sniffed from their house so far.
