I don’t really understand how this is classified as an oriental vanilla. There’s no vanilla!
It’s a very basic powdery light rather soapy amber musk. The lily is not lily as I understand it. It’s a synthetic copy. Overall it posesses a synthetic quality to it but it’s not bad. There is no plastic note like there usually is in fragrances in this quality level. It has truckloads of soap though…which is a plus for me!
Lilas for me is either an easy powdery casual/work spritzer during the winter and autumn or an exceptionally good layering fragrance. It works wonders in my wardrobe transforming my summer fruity stuff to deeper more autumn territory and softening my stronger chypres (la perla, la perla) into more 2014 wearable juice. I wear fragrance for myself and I normally don’t mess with my chypres in this way but when I do need to for whatever reason, Lilas works great for that.
