Perhaps the second fragrance I find cute and bearable from Amouage, alongside Sunshine which I liked the most. I probably do not have enough experience to fully embrace the complexity of Epic or Interlude. What I feel in this perfume is the complementary duet of cocoa and heliotrope, as if the floral bouquet painted in purple shades had been powdered with delicious cocoa dust. Easy bitter at the first spray, but then it becomes velvety and angelic.
I like it a lot, but I wouldn’t buy it.

I just nominated the Lancome Oud Bouquet as a “Smells like” A blind buy I was totally not expecting to smell like this! I do not smell Lilac & actually thought I had sprayed the wrong thing & had to go back & look, then I came here. Seems it has surprised others too. This one had a strange little twist that Oud Bouquets creaminess does not have. I was shocked at the similarities. OB is one of my favorite perfumes, & I do prefer it over this, however it blows my mind how unexpectedly close it is. This one has an “Ointment” smell that replaces OB’s creaminess. That’s the best way I can explain it. Both project well. Perfumes don’t usually boggle my mind like this, but it just happened! Natalie N on Youtube

Lilacs covered in a cacao. A fluffy kitten would wear this.

No lilac here. Smells like vanilla and chocolate swirl pudding, with hint of patchouli and a lot of baby powder. Pass

Sampled this out of a gift sample box and came to say “This smells like lilac + chocolate” without checking up the notes at all before. Unusual combination, but lovely.

Complex and quality like most Amouage scents. Cacao and tonka with floral touches. Not detecting any classic lilac. Good projection and wear. I want to be disappointed because it does not give my memory laden lilac fix but I am not because it us such a rich fragrance.

Exactly how I imagined it. I wanted it for the summer, but due to it`s warmth, I think this is an all year around kinda fragrance. Love love love.
Soft, light, kind, sophisticated, young and youthful, dignified, and beautiful.
    Great floral perfume.

I received this yesterday in a package from a wonderful and generous fellow Fragrantica member, vkmcewen. Believe it or not, I had never tried an Amouage fragrance. An 8mL decant of Lilac Love was among the marvelous goodies sent to me, so I eagerly gave it a whirl.
It was totally different from what I expected, but I love it. When I think of a lilac perfume, I tend to think of En Passant, which is more realistically floral with some majestically somber, almost tart notes. Lilac Love reminded me, to my surprise, of Dior Addict and Armani Code…about as different from En Passant as you can get. Lilac Love doesn’t have the supercharged hormonal aura of Addict and Code, but it does have the rich accord of vanilla and tonka bean. It also has a lighter helping of flowers than the other two, which makes it a better daytime wear, in my book.
Ironically, I barely get any lilac out of Lilac Love, but it is rapidly growing on me. The decant is huge and I apply with a light hand, so I don’t think I’ll be buying a full bottle of it anytime soon, but it definitely deserves a ‘love’ rating…it’s a delightful add to my collection!

I guess I’m one of few people who truly dislike this scent.
The very intense soapy baby powder part mixed together with unbearable sweetness by cocoa, vanilla, tonka bean hits you like a punch. And as if that wasn’t enough, you get strong florals on top of it.
With a fragrance like this one, I wish it was either a bit lighter or had more notes that would balance the extreme sweetness.
There are scents that make sense to you after you’ve worn or smelled them a couple of times, but this weird blend of chocolatey sweetness and soapy/baby powdery notes is just not a flattering blend in my book.
Furthermore, it either causes or enhances migraine whenever I smell it.
I just find it so annoying, disgusting.
And now you may stone me.

Smells really similar to Nuit de Noho which I hate. I get nothing but harsh florals and patch. Really intense gardenia. This sounded so promising but I get absolutely no chocolate, vanilla, heliotrope, or tonka. Only slight sweetness from the acrid florals. Glad I only got a small decant.
If you’re looking for a decadent gourmand floral, I’d run far from this.
Based on the voted notes, I really thought this would be at least a strong like but it was a huge disappointment for me.

I’m not good at describing fragrances as i run out of appropriate words to use and i usually end up giving unfair reviews but this one is undeniably rich and opulent to say the least! Not as beastly as the other offerings from this house but the longevity and scent trail are insane! For those who crave for floral and gourmand scents, like i occasionally do, this perfectly fits the bill! Marketed for women but like i always say, who cares?!

You’re a living detonation, a continuous explosion of chocolate milk, echoed by concussion waves of sharp white flowers and vanilla bean. You don’t make sense. You’re a bag of cacao powder thrown into a garden of heliotrope, picked apart by children and their sticky Play-Doh fingers. You’re a fantastical anomaly, and that isn’t necessarily a good thing. Lilac Love by Amouage.

What a powerhouse! I don’t think I have ever smelled any fragrance quite like this. I get a blast of tonka followed by the cacao and then the florals step up.I think this was my first scent that was so heavily tonka. My initial reaction was..whoa…wth…insecticide, furniture oil, chocolate….ahhhhh….getting interesting…..very nice….what a magic carpet ride. Not for the faint of heart. Florals on speed.

I don’t smell any lilac and very glad about it. Only soft milk cacao foam, heliotrope and white flowers. The sillage is mind-blowing. Love

The best flower and chocolate combination I’ve come across. A soft and very natural, fresh, lilac and a cacao note that reminds me of brownie mix. This smells expensive and gourmet. But also calming.

    Soliflore – blossomy – cacao
    Color impression: transparent purple
Mid-spring lilacs hang from a French balcony of a room where sun gilds its walls every morning. The fragrance opens with a zest of mousse chocolate bearing both sweetness of sugar and fluffy bitterness of cacao that promises of a jovial floral heart. A solid full-bodied floral patch displays a light and insisting lilac-like accord; powdery and almost soapy. Dries down while releases chocolate and slides through soft woodsy ambiance polished by a gentle touch of musk.
The concept is so good, and nose pictured the concept very clear, the perfume is also so readable and easy-to-wear. Lilac Love, beside Olivia Giacobetti’s En Passant, is one of the finest lilac fragrances out there. It has a very satisfactory longevity on skin, but I’m infatuated by its remarkable sillage.

Couple of months ago I thought that I’m not going to buy amouage lilac love but now it’s mine and I can’t get enough of it’s wonderful scent!
I adore heliotrope, lilac kind of powder.I die for vanilla, tonka and I love gourmand notes such as cacao. Amouage lilac love seems to be an special present from heaven for me!
There’s no lilac in it’s pyramid but it shines to my nose so naturally,so real as if I’m seeing it among most rated notes somewhere near heliotrope, cocoa and vanilla
This perfume isn’t all about florals, neah,I can’t even call it a floral scent but it has one of the most gorgeous floral accords out there.a true heaven for powder lovers.if you love floral accord of perfumes such as trussardi my name or bvlgari omnia amethyst and you’d like to experience it’s mixture with dark cocoa powder and milky vanilla, then this is a must try for you
Cacao is very recognizable but this is not a very sweet gourmand.it reminds me the cacao powder which my mom uses to make cacao milk for us.it’s like sitting in a garden full of the most beautiful flowers drinking warm cacao milk topped with vanilla cream
Unlike others I don’t find it dated or old at all.it’s a very modern fragrance for me but it has glory.it’s not heavy like most amouages but it’s still rich.and longevity and sillage are way more than what I thought when I first tried it
I always liked amouage as I believed it has numerous great perfumes but they were not for me.recently amouage is making perfumes that I can use too like sunshine, this one and lately love blossom.keep doing great jobs amouage

So it’s Spring in Australia and the lilacs in my garden have begun to bloom. I decided to try my Lilac Love decant and pair it side by side with actual lilacs
I gotta say, I don’t entirely know what people mean when they say this doesn’t smell like lilacs. It really, really does. One doesn’t even have to stretch to say this.
Without getting too analytical about how a lilac smells, this really encapsulates the smell of it quite well. For something that doesn’t actually contain lilac, it does a pretty amazing job of creating the accord.
I expected lilac, and I got it. The cocoa is also quite a nice touch, yet overall I get lilac.
Try before you buy, but I might be a lone ranger here.

I had an 8 ML sample of this one and I am just not feeling it. From the notes listed, I sort of assumed I would like it and while I can’t say it smells “bad”; I don’t like it. To me it doesn’t smell like lilac flowers at any point. The heavy powder and milky notes with the white florals are somehow off-putting in combination. I generally like powder in fragrance but for some reason the notes that sound more gourmand – cocoa/vanilla/tonka are coming off as a really unidentifiable lactonic/milky note on my skin. There is also something pulling really “industrial clean” soapy and dryer sheet cutting through the other notes. It really puts me on edge when I wear it. This is a mature and demure scent for daytime. Strong and long lasting.
**Be careful with this one if white florals tend to give you a headache – if I did anything more than about a half of a spray I got an instant headache. I feel like the creamy white florals actually intensify as it dries down and the baby powder puff cloud fades a bit.
I totally get why some might make reference to baby wipes – the powder is really dominant especially for the first several hours and it’s a literal “baby powder” smell at least on my skin. Overall I think it has a vintage soap or bath product vibe.

    hi All
Very new to this forum but I love fragrance. It takes me places, brings me joy. I’m also new to Amouage…
So Usually, for whatever reason, I tend to prefer “Masculine” fragrances, BUT, I was at a store a few weeks ago and was given a sample of this.
I got a whiff of cacao first, then the florals, and after a few hours this wonderful, warm. floaty, milky sense and then the lilac? Tonka I can definitely detect..
All I can say is that this comforted me, made me happy whenever I caught a whiff and lasted for ages.
Someone here said it was like walking into a secret garden, and I have to agree.
I bought a bottle and am wearing it now, and have had Two complete strangers walk up to me while I was out today and ask what it was.
    Think that’s a confirmation for me 🙂

first i get the cacao and what i believe to be tons of tonka. the tonka stays through the first 10 minutes while i also get some rose and other florals that are hard to pick out, along with patchouli and a bit of sandalwood. amouage’s website says that this actually has lilac accord in it, fragrantica does not. for the first half hour, i cannot smell any lilac from the decant i purchased. after about 20 minutes, i get the heliotrope and orris root, which softens the scent a bit and it’s so pretty. about 10 minutes after that, i think i’m getting hints of lilac and it’s very pretty. the more time goes on the more i love this one. it ends up being a cloud of lilac and heliotrope, just beautiful!

    This smells so familliar.
    I love the scent.
It takes me to a very warm a fuzzy place.
Not your tipical Amouage scent. Nowhere as flashy.(No, I love most of ther fragrances) This is soft as a pillow.
Yes, that is the picture I get from the scent. A huge pastel coloured pillow with feathers twirling around it.
    Such serenity.
It reminds me of my grandmother. Or staying at her house.
With that being said, I don’t think it is outdated, nor it is old. I don’t get the baby whipes either.
In all earnest, this scent enchanted me, more than I thought it would, considering some of the top reviews on here.

Be patient; it takes a while to get to the better stuff.
Starts out a SOAPY, powdery floral with strong, DATED patchouli/wood undertones.
    “Lilac” is quite a stretch.
Eventually adds a very SLIGHT but overly sweet and somewhat vanilla-y tone.
Very eventually (10 min or so later) a *slight* warm spicy note comes through. That’s when the scent finally becomes approachable and even enjoyable imo.
    Never got the cacao notes.
    Headache-inducing.
Even in the later stages it still retains a bit of a “rich b*tch ice queen” and old-school vibe to me (I think it’s that particular patchouli-wood combo). She just lets her hair down a bit in the end.
Not saying any of that is a bad thing, necessarily! Totally depends on your style.
Lilac Love is just not for me. And I’m jealous because it sounds like other reviewers really loved this one! Wish I got all that from LL too!

I dunno, first whiff was baby wipes, then some powdery lilac with a spice to it, then maybe chocolate. I washed it off because it wasn’t what I hoped for, but now that I’m reading some really beautiful assessments of this fragrance, I’ll give it another chance tomorrow.

First minutes its just about heavy plastic, but wait and suddenly something very pleasant appears. This one is changing from uack to wow for me in just 10 minutes. Soft, mild almost skinclose but yet dancing around you. I get the Heliotrope, Tonka and Orris best on my skin. I have a sample – and go to a big bottle – not sure yet.

It’s a long time I’m waiting for Amouage lilac love to hit the shelves and finally I saw it’s lilac tester bottle in hiland.it’s notes look so nice that I’d blindbuy it if I had the money
First point,it smells horrible in it’s cap but don’t pay attention to that chemical smell and spray it on your skin
It opens as a sharp floral that I couldn’t tell it’s notes apart.but in less than 5 minutes cacao kicks in and I can’t describe my happiness when I saw it has a strong cacao note in it’s scent and not just in it’s pyramid as some other perfumes
This was my first test in a mall not a careful sample test so I have just a general image of it which I liked a lot.dark cacao stays it’s strongest note while vanilla, tonka and heliotrope add a fluffy, powdery and creamy sweetness
It was not an Arabic scent as some other Amouages and I was happy not to smell oud, animalic notes and heavy spices.it’s not a candy sweet foody gourmand either
For me It’s interesting, appealing and wearable.cacao, vanilla,Tonka and heliotrope and gardenia are among my most favorite notes while I like it’s other notes too.it wasn’t really longlasting on my skin.one spray lasted about six hours but I applied very little amount so it may improve in a full wear.this is not a heavy Scent.it’s soft but seems to project well, however not as good as my expectations from an Amouage
Now we come to the most important question.will I buy it or not?
Well,I enjoyed it a lot and I really wish to have it but I won’t pay almost 230$ for it!! I can buy four items of my wishlist with this price and feel happier, but I will wait for it.if in my further testings,I feel than Longevity and sillage are better than our first meeting and also if I get heliotrope more clearly and if it becomes discounted so that I find it for less than 150$ I’d consider adding it to my collection
    ❤❤❤❤

I adore this fragrance! It is my special Valentine’s Day gift equivalent to a lilac colored velvet heart box with a lot of lace and feminine things filled with chocolate dipped lilacs on powdery feather puffs. Just adorable! Also has a little of that vintage vibe I love so much…it’s just a scent of love…
I am transported to a lilac colored room, the bottle definately suits the scent…a wonderful feminine not to sweet powdery delicious little perfume that will have cupid shooting arrows right at your heart..
This just smells like Valentine’s Day;)

Lilac frags are some of my all-time favorites, so I was anxious to try this one. I’m a huge fan of Amouage and had high hopes for this. Unfortunately, I dislike patch. I can smell it a mile away, so I try to avoid it at all costs. Once the patch in this makes its appearance (about 30 minutes in), it just takes over. And to make matters worse, I think you could use industrial-strength floor cleaner on it and STILL not be able to get it off. Sample before you buy, because this one seems to develop differently on everyone.

WOW! This really is gorgeous. This is what fantasy perfect lilac would smell like. Bright, powdery, sweet and uplifting. A very feminine fragrance. On the opening the heliotrope and floral notes are the most prominent. I will guess that sweet heliotrope with peony and gardenia are the accord that create the lilacy fragrance. You then become very aware of the milk chocolate, tonka and vanilla. It closes with the tonka note.
If your concerned that this is a heavy sweet gourmand then dont be.
I imagine heaven must smell like this lol. Fluffy and welcoming
My only concern is that it turns into a skin scent within the hour and remains so the next few hours. Obviously this is just my experience.

Well what a beauty Lilac Love by the great and wonderful Amouage is!!!!! It’s so delicious!! Soft!! Creamy and powdery, and oh my god I can’t describe it well enough. I adore it!!! It is so perfectly the beautiful colour of the bottle!!! It’s so lovely and sweet, and gentle and enveloping and nurturing and feminine and sensual, and loving. Oh I love it. It’s so pretty. Beautiful heliotrope, creamy/milky vanilla, a hint of chocolate, gorgeous peony, mimosa and iris, jasmine and gardenia and rose. They’re all detectable, but it’s a well-blended darling mixture that definitely gives the impression of lilacs!!! Sandalwood sweet and soft, rich and spicy patchouli, powdery orris and tangy tonka. Oh it’s beautiful! Just like a lovely warm snugly lilac blanket wrapped around me, comforting me and making me feel precious. IT is a very precious perfume.
And it lasts pretty well (about 10 hours or more), and the sillage is sweetly personal and quietly enveloping, so that only those very close to you can share the pleasure of this gorgeous fragrance with you. A big LOVE!!!

Ahhh, Amouage is still struggling to create the perfect powdery perfume.
This is basically an artificial powdery flower scent. It’s not overwhelming, just annoying and gave me light headache with each sniff so I stopped sniffing!
I think this perfume smelled different from one person to another. Personal testing is a must.

Lilac Love is a Persian kitten, soft, soothing and absolutely adorable.
I’ve been on the verge of purring all day. Scratch that, I just purred when I reapplied Lilac Love to frame my mood while writing this review. It would not surprise me one bit to learn all of you had the same unexpected (and potentially embarrassing) response upon application 🙂
More perplexing than my response is how Amouage knew!?! How did they know the one thing missing from my fragrance wardrobe would be light and sweet and amazingly milky? How did they know I needed a fragrance as soft as a baby blanket? And how did they know, despite already having too many, I needed another very feminine, floral?
This is the ONLY new fragrance to breach my olfactory defenses this past year. The only one to make its way above my continuously (and possibly unreasonably) rising bar.
I thought my fragrance journey might be coming to an end, as fewer fragrances find a place in my heart. I thought I may have become fragrantly jaded, you know…nothing new, different or exciting being released. I thought my passion for perfumery was finally waning.
    I thought wrong.
Damn, Amouage, now I have to rethink EVERYthing 🙂
    Notes of Note
    -heavenly heliotrope, gardenia, jasmine bouquet
    -lilac accord
    -smooth, milky vanilla
    -a slight patchouli vibe
    -gentle gourmand accord
    -unlisted musk
    -orris root
-a subtle powdery sweetness from the cacao
    -a fluffy kitten
    Projection
    -it’s a cocoon, relax
    Longevity
-surprisingly fleeting on me, but precious.
I know most lilacs in bloom don’t have a fragrance, but this is how they would smell, given a choice.
    So would I.

I’m testing this from a decanted spray sample (one spritz shared between both wrists) and I’m amazed at how much this smells like lilac without actually containing the note itself. Right after I applied it, I distinctly smelled cocoa butter, but within five minutes, a strong scent of lilacs appeared, with the cocoa becoming much more powdery, and dry, and fluffy. It’s a potent fragrance, too! I’ve had it on for more than 4 hours, and it’s still going strong on my wrists. Personally, this feels like a very powdery floral with a gourmand tinge. And because I love sweet powdery fragrances, I love it!!! I imagine this would make me feel so fresh in summer weather! I wish the price wasn’t so prohibitive, but wearing it, it truly feels worth the cost! I usually have to liberally apply my perfume to smell it, but this one is very strong, so a bottle would probably last longer.

This is not for me. I get indolic Jasmine under a cloud of powdery soapy vanilla, Tonka, Heliotrope. Usually I love these notes strung together but not today with this one. I get no real sweetness from the cacao and smell no rose. I have had it on for 30 minutes and it is going away. This feels unfinished to me and needs a zing or zang at the top. Oh well, on to the next one.

How warm, soft, fluffy, and beautiful! Tons of lilac with tonka, vanilla and cacao. The lilac feels so natural, like you were actually in a garden smelling the flower. Then comes the vanilla-tonka-cacao triad which makes the scent comforting and soft. I can also smell some sandal when it dries down. For me it is a lovely clean sweet floral. Strong, but not overwhelming. Sillage and longetivity both excellent.

Spraying Lilac Love we enter a kind of secret garden. It`s spring, late afternoon and a little girl who is touching tiny lilac`s bells is not very familiar with their scent: fresh, a bit sweet and etheral. Agree, it `s rather impression of lilac than the flower itself. It shares some scent shades with heliotrope but very quickly vanilla comes to help them to communicate better.
A girl finds some pieces of chocolate in her pocket but doesn`t enjoy them as much as this is rather `grown up`, dark chocolate with dry cocoa.Smells divine but is not as tasteful as she thought. Some time later we can enjoy flowers too but as it happens in another Amouages they are very well blended and difficult to recognize.
So there are two sides of a coin.Lilac Love is a dream in a bottle, high class, eastern masterpiece.Smart, well blended and dreamy. And yes, it`s like unexpected love producing endorphines and making everybody smile.
But it`s also a bit overpriced with average lasting power. Also sillage is not the best one as the scent rather touches your skin than produces a cloud.

Looking at the notes, I expected to like it, well I don’t like it at all..it is very middle eastern in its composition, to the point that it smells like it has aoud somewhere…the cocoa is dry and bitter, the top notes are a blast of earthy and sharpness..only in the base does it get powdery, with a soapy edge, and softer…glad I bough a sample, this isn’t for me’! It has something of a Turkish dessert I agree…thick, and unisex…just not a pretty smell to my nose..

Lovely! I was surprised that it isn’t particularly gourmand, – the cacao note does not bring much of sugariness into the composition, – rather powdery texture.
Lilac here also isn’t a real-life, in-your-face kind of scent, but it certainly is a masterful abstract sketch of this amazing, beautiful and fragrant plant.
I do feel the signature Amouage DNA in the background, which I also feel in Honour, Sunshine, Epic and Lyric. If someone will tell you Amouage have gone too far from their legacy, don’t listen 😉 It definitely smells like Amouage.
It’s fresh, I sense a great deal of gardenia and peony in it, and vanilla is not prominent here at all. The overall impression is slightly sweet-tart-and-sour, and powdery.
The base is tonka, orris and, pronouncedly so, patchouli, but not in a head shop way, somehow it is very harmonious here.
Love it, it’s very wearable and simple in a good way. Longevity and sillage – more than satisfactory, and much better than those of my Epic and Lyric (magnetic caps edition).
The prices are deadly, but quality and versatility are definitely there. Easily can be worn during daytime, signature-worthy as well.

I just noticed lucky scent has this now for sale and samples. I liked it. Thought I’d love this perfume tho. Everyone else adores it but I was underwhelmed. Not that it’s not good. It’s lovely. A strong like

Got to test this one today!
Wow! It really shows what an art form perfumery can be.
This one drifts in and out of different notes. It starts with a big blast of cacao, which takes a while to mellow.
Once that settles I get something powdery but with an underlying freshness that borders on soapiness but never gets there (thankfully). This is probably what gives the impression of lilacs.
It’s not a powerhouse fragrance – stays pretty close to the skin.
Very well done and unique, but worth $500? Unfortunately, no (not for me anyway).

Mona-Jo – don’t trust the testers on Ebay! I bought one (I used Paypal, just to be safe, because I figured there’d be a chance it’s fake) and it’s definitely FAKE! They take the photos from the best angles (or use a stock image) but when you see it in real life, it’s really obvious.
The perfume inside? Smells ok actually, but I’m not sure what it is actually supposed to smell like because it was a blind buy. I would say the scent fits the description, but being a fake I’m not sure I want to spray it on my skin after what I’ve read about the ingredients they use for fake perfumes 🙁

The combination of lilac and chocolate is a bit perverse for me. Won’t be on my buy list.
I have 100+ niche samples for swap within Europe – updated spreadsheet of samples on my profile, get in touch!

    I never really cared for Amouage, I find their scents to be far too complicated for their own good but this changed everything. Lilac Love is a powdery floral gourmand that is sweet and alluring yet light and feminine. On my skin this is a rich jasmine, cocoa and tonka scent with nuances of peonies, vanilla and sandalwood. It is creamy and undeniably sexy. I honestly cannot get enough of this, the staying power is moderate ~ 5 hours on my skin. It initially projects quite well but then dies down to a skin scent. The price is a tad dear, £260 for 100 ml! Sadly, I love it enough to spend that much. I was lucky enough to obtain 2 samples of this, so for now I will keep testing it and will most likely take the rather expensive plunge and acquire a full bottle. Well played Amouage, 9/10. {knocked off a point because of the price and lack of availability of other sizes}

Weird. I was prepared for this to “NOT” be a lilac perfume by some reviews. So, I just opened my mind to a vague “lilacish” abstract perfume. And it was. It is VERY different from the typical Amouage lineup (which I think is fantastic–I
