Description

The house of Nina Ricci, under the license held by Puig, represents two new limited editions of their Les Belles de Nina fragrances in early 2018 (Nina from 2006 and Luna from 2016), called Les Monstres de Nina Ricci, in bottles designed by Brazilian artists Ana Strumpf and Guto Requena.

Les Monstres de Nina Ricci Nina is a sweet floral-fruity fragrance that combines notes of pear, black currant leaves, candy floss, peony and praline, whose creation is signed by perfumer Olivier Cresp. Its apple-shaped bottle is decorated with illustration of yellow eyes and red pom-pom around the neck.

Les Monstres de Nina Ricci fragrances are available from January 2018 as 50 and 80 ml Eaux de Toilette.

I just got this from the Shopper’s Drugmart in Canada for 20$! I think it’s a good quality scent that has both sweet and sour-fresh (Marc Jacobs’ Daisy) facets. It also has a ‘cat pee’ accord that I notice more and more each time I wear it. I would not spend more than 20$ for this scent though, but I’m happy to add it to my collection!

Delicious! Of course as a flanker it’s supposed to be in the same vein as original Nina, but somehow it manages to smell EXTREMELY similar even though it doesn’t have apple.
Initial spray: NINA without apple. I guess with pear but if you weren’t familiar you’d think apple.
Middle: Getting sweeter. You can smell the cotton candy and the praline. It starts to smell like grape candy to me.
    Drydown: sweet praline.
It has a medium sillage, and is very long lasting (noticeable at the end of an 8 hour day; can still detect it on clothes if you smell the fabric a day or two later) even though the notes themselves are smooth and soothing instead of being very loud. For example something with patchouli or white florals might have the same sillage but be more noticeable.
I adore this perfume. It’s enough like Nina that I don’t have to buy a new bottle, yet different enough that I’m loving the grape candy touch!

First of all, I don’t like the bottle and the idea of these perfumes.
These bottles are just so silly and childish, but probably don’t have a suitable price for teenagers.
Maybe it has more reasonable price if you order online.
The opening was not nice, there was an extremely synthetic pear note.
Drydown is quite bearable, I sense candy sweet and some fruity notes.
Seems ordinary when I smell it now, but the top notes and the bottle aren’t the nicest.

Zero “monstre” here, the fragrance is nice but weak.

Angry Bird Nina has an okay sillage and a total lasting power of seven hours. It’s a sweet sugared orange-pear butter cookie. Vanillin and candy cane. An ethylmaltol galore. A ride to the funfair and a stroll to buy all the tasty calorific sweets. The after-drydown, if I’m allowed to name it that way, is a soft warm ambery scent without the calories.
It’s that simplistic. You know this scent, you’ve smelled it in a lot of gourmand perfumes. It’s no different here. Monster Nina is sweeter than Monster Luna, childlike sweet. Yes, Monster Nina is the innocent pre-teen girl at the funfair interested only in cottoncandy, while Monster Luna, her sister, one year older maybe, but still teen, also addicted to candy, is behaving “naughty”, and fails.
I just don’t understand why mama Ricci puts up with such daughters…
