Yes, I agree that it smells bright and fresh. However, on my skin, longevity is terrible and sillage is practically non-existent. It’s basically a skin scent in less than an hour and evaporates almost instantly by the time the hour lapses. This holds true whether outside in the heat or in an air conditioned environment.

The best part of this cologne is the dry down. I recently purchased this cologne and used it and went about my day (mostly running errands). After about 3 hours, I was driving home and noticed a masculine and sexy scent emanating from somewhere within my car. I foolishly thought to myself, “maybe someone’s scent latched onto me”. But nope, I then quickly realized that this captivating scent was coming from me and this cologne from Issey Miyake. To me, this cologne is a “lighter” and fruitier version of the original L’Eau d’Issey pour Homme. I also find this cologne to smell better than the original one. The only downfall of this cologne is the longevity and the sillage. It does not compare at all to the original L’Eau d’Issey pour Homme. The original is a beast when it comes to longevity and sillage. Longevity on this summer version is about 4.5 hours with about 4-5 sprays.
Overall, this cologne is definitely a safe blind buy.
Scent: 4/5
Sillage: 2.5/5
Longevity: 2.5/5
Value: 3.5/5

Very pleasant scent, but the longevity issues are real. 2-3 hours. At 23 bucks, not a bad deal I’d say.

Summer ’16 is “adequate” but certainly but nothing special, or worth any praise. As this flanker has a very, very watered down, and cheap, and hyper-synthetic smell to it, compounded with extremely poor longevity and poor overall performance.
The poor formulation quality of Summer ’16, makes it somewhat difficult to wear, as the cheap vibe has a sickly smell that’ll make you feel like taking a shower. People are just better off wearing the original Issey Miyake cologne which has a richer, and bolder scent. Issey Miyake really need to step up their game with all their flankers if they want to taken seriously anymore.
Overall: 4/10

Grapefruit/sour citrus (maybe sour pineapple) opening. Vetiver hints throughout. Pretty linear. Reminds me of a gin and tonic-ish scent (lime/sour citrus, herbaceousness from gin with the vetiver and woods). Definitely summer appropriate.
Really poor longevity. 1.5-2 hours on my skin. Projection for maybe 45-60 minutes.
A 6.5/10 for me. It’s a decent summer spray for hot days. Won’t last, but I usually don’t need summer scents to last. They’re usually for the beach, casual hang outs, BBQs, etc. Definitely overrated on Fragrantica’s scoring, for sure, but if under $30, go for it.

I’d chased after the fabled 2009 edition for so long. I’d had it when it first came out and this scent was my signature for the longest time. I’d bought the first bottle and a second after falling in love with it.
Of course it’s 2018 now and almost a decade since that magical fragrance has been first brought to the world! So I was finding them at such high prices and very unsure of spending so much and eventually being ripped off. I’ve seen people thinking they’re getting the 2009 from the seller and receiving a different year.
I’d heard a lot of good things and really read the bad reviews of this one as well, but I ultimately decided to give this a try. It’s very close! I can still pick up that some things are missing, but it did give me that nostalgic feeling of remembering what the 2009 was. I remember the 2010 being a letdown for me back then. I’m very happy with this scent and can’t wait for the warmer months to wear this out!
For me the scent is a 7/10 whereas the legendary 2009 was a 9/10. For me it would have to be earth shattering for a 10/10, so this fragrance isn’t so bad! Unfortunately like all good things and such. 🙂

Issey Summer 2016 is the way to go! Great longevity for a summer scent with a beautiful pineapple accord to boot! Issey’s best summer yet! I’m getting a couple of these for years to come.

I didn’t know it was possible to bottle seasons until I bought this. An amazing fragrance which is Summer in a bottle
kvpetr12 – :
Not a big fan of citrus-aromatic fragrances, but I do really enjoy my bottle of Summer 2013 when the weather gets hot. To me Summer 2016 is similar to their Summer 2013 offering, with subtle difference, but I love love ’em both.
This fragrances lasts 4-5 hour son my skin and stays pretty close to skin after the first 30-minutes, which is fine for this kind of scent. Overall, I love how this fragrance smells on a hot Summer day; it’s an excellent scent.
devildoll – :
in all the yearly summer flankers this is the only one with better performance like 5 hours, DNA of original with pineapple and kiwi is something good for a nice summer sunny hot day. I bought this last year in Croatia while travelling and exploring beaches during the month of August with great price and was fully satisfied for what i payed. If you plan lately to travel to some bay areas and want to pick up a budget good smelling tropical summer scent then just pick this up. I payed like 25 euros for 125ml, which i used religiously so left with few sprays. I am planing to buy another this year.
optiodyexpods – :
it’s ok. it even has a good longevity, which is a surprise.
it’s dominant note is grapefruity yuzu or whatever bitter citrus it is, as in the original l’eau d’issey, not kiwi.
dgool – :
You’ve Guessed it, Summer 2017 is again -exactly- the same as 2014,2015,2016.
just a different bottle.
it’s okay if you are like me and only grab the summer editions every 2 years.
while the smell is pretty nice and obviously amazing for the summer, the 2nd best thing is the price, in the UK it’s normally 125ml for £25-35. which is fine, in my opinion.
prikoly – :
Got this in the mail and used it for 2 days. Smells good, but longevity is terrible. Last 2 hours on my skin tops. After that i cant even detect that i even sprayed it on in the first place. So dissapointed in its performance
WagsCararce – :
Yeah…yet another summer version which is more than mildly derivative of the others. In fact, as quite rightly pointed out the kiwi note in here reminds me of the 2013 summer one…let’s face it, this is the same.
Arikus – :
Absolutely phenomenal! This is by far the best summer scent out right now.
Virtual – :
Absolutely phenomenal! This is by far the best summer scent out right now.
aibek92 – :
It’s great it has a nice smoky green wood vibe hidden in the base from the cypress and kiwi

Heaven in a bottle.
kerbut – :
Same as 2013 Summer “Limited Edition” with an iris of the eye chopped in half instead of raised at the joke of calling iself a fragrance new; and a sideways reminder that its still Issey Miyake Pour Homme.
