Description

Le Jour Se Lève is a citrusy, floral and musky fragrance that represents an olfactory voyage, celebrating the first rays of the sun with a what is described as refreshing and radiant composition. To convey this bright optimism, Jacques Cavallier chose one of his favorite ingredients: mandarin.  Jasmine Sambac, bergamot, magnolia petals, osmanthus, blackcurrant and musk are among the other notes.

Louis Vuitton Le Jour Se Lève will be available as a 100 and 200 ml Eau de Parfum, and in a set of travel sprays (4 x 7.5 ml).

Le Jour se Lève was launched in 2018.

Most definitely really bright and citrusy without a doubt. I’m surprised no one else has mentioned this but Le Jour se Lève is very similar (almost identical to my nose) to Chance Eau Vive. If you like Chance Eau Vive give this a shot because most likely your guaranteed to like this one too.

210€ for 30ml (travel spray) of a citrus scent? FFS…

This reminds me of a bath and body works scent from 17 yrs ago called basil citrus. Anyway try layering this with victorias secret bare vanilla. it brimgs out the supposed vanilla note in this perfume

This is very nice, but I’m not entirely convinced. Not just yet, anyway. The opening is HEAVENLY—fresh like the mist of an orange straight from its peel, and fleshy and malleable like the peel itself. I imagine every facet of peachy-orange hues of the early morning sky; it is very evocative of the imagery its name suggests. The opening is very delectable and juicy, especially when paired with the blackcurrant note. After it settles into my skin for a few minutes, the osmanthus begins to blossom underneath and contributes a sort of waxy yellow character before a gauzy jasmine begins to dominate. On my skin, this fragrance develops rather rapidly, which is sad for me because the opening is a sort of “makes-your-eyes-roll-back” delicious that is rare in citrus fragrances—it truly smells like raw, fresh mandarin, devoid of any synthetic or cloying quality. Sadly, the drydown is not so outstanding to my nose as is the opening; I find it a rather muddy blend of jasmine and the remnants of the citric opening. The base notes are nonexistent for me; Le Jour Se Léve simply fades away without offering a final adieu, no less one with vanilla (although musk is rather prevalent in the mid notes, I have to say). Additionally, longevity is poor: I sprayed it on my hand in the boutique, and in the time it took me to finish my glass of champagne and kiss my sales assistant goodbye, it had faded almost completely. On paper it smells outstanding and develops more leisurely. To be fair, on my skin it’s stunning too, at least for a little bit, I just wish that there was more of it… more potency, and certainly more longevity. I think it’s a beautiful addition to the collection, but I’m uncertain if I completely love it just yet. Hopefully I will with time.

I was told by my LV SA that the rumors about men’s LV fragrances are completely false. He said this release is the most unisex one they’re coming out with, and maybe that “unisex” tag is what got the men’s fragrance rumors swirling. Well, we can now put those rumors to bed

Very disappointed with this new fragrance. Not much character and too mainstream. Feel they created this purely aim for Far East market.

After a fresh but luxurious mandarin opening, Un Jour se lève unveils a white floral heart, yet still fresh.
The fragrance is enhanced with green facets, that you could already detect in the topnotes with a blackcurrant facet, but on skin, the greenness becomes more obvious.
Combined with an undefinable floralcy, it clearly evokes this new “wearable green floral” trend you had in Gabrielle in 2017.
    Well done, Mr Cavallier.
