CoriWoorrytum – :
I can’t say why, but this comes out smelling a little “marine” to me, and reminds me of the beach in New England fall. It does fall into the chypre category, but it has a blue-greeness to it I can’t explain – like seaweed – rather than the earthiness you can get from chypres with patchouli. It’s not a heavy-hitter chypre, but light. Floral sweetness, faint touch of fruitiness plus green and gentle woodiness, no tartness at all. The sandalwood is in the background. It does not make me think at all of the tea that it’s named after, that’s for sure! Quite well blended, the notes are complementary without any note overshadowing another.
I don’t wear it often, I can get a little headachy from chypres, but the men in my life always comment positively when I wear it so I give it a go once in a while. I like it best in Spring & Fall temps.
