The top notes are really satisfying. The middle notes are citrus and good. The drydown is all pepper, sage, and herbal and I do not like it.
Be sure to try before you buy. Most reviewers like it and many of them are members I trust and value their reviews. It does not work for me. So please, try before you buy.

A decent fragrance that I can’t hate it on as it has things I like but there’s also things about this that’s off putting that causes me to only think it’s o.k.
This is a pretty linear fragrance that opens up with a bright mix of citrus, sage, lavender and pepper that I’d describe as being a sharp, bright, soapy smell that’s also kind of relaxing.
What I really like about this fragrance is the mix of lavender, sage and citrus but I do however wish this had less pepper as if they had toned that note down this would have been a lot more smooth and refined. The pepper to my nose makes this too sharp and takes away from the pleasantness of the note I described above.
Performance on this average as it lasts 4-6 hours with actually above average projection.
    Overall rating—6.5 out of 10 !
a decent summer scent for the price but that pepper note kind of made this lose points.

This smells like it could be a flanker of Sean John’s Unforgivable line. Maybe an intense version with a better performance. I’m not sure what notes they share but i can definitely smell the similarities, but this fragrance is in a category of it’s own. It’s so soft, fresh, and sophisticated. This is perfect for summer but I’m definitely wearing it year round.

For a low price this is a very nice fresh and surprisingly modern scent considering it came on in the 90’s. Has a strong lavender that remains with some orange and tad of neroli with a hint of pepper to make it about 10% spicy so that suits me fine.
Doesn’t seem to change much from first spray except to get slightly musky.
It’s odd one of my cheapest frags that I get the most compliments with.I also layer it with frags like Nautica Blue and it works. Just wish it lasted a little longer.
    Scent 8.5 /10
    Projection 6/10
    Longevity 5/10

This fragrance is iconic for me! I wore it at my weadding…so, i will never forget this wonderful gem. I bought it one day before my weadding and i was hesitant to use this one or Trussardi´s. But i decided to use this one, because it was a hot day and this fragrances is better in hot days. It remains a modern and beatiful smell, despite being one of late 90´s! Great bottle, great smell, huge memories! Simply love this one!

A blind buy of this based on reviews turned out to be a big disappointment for me. The all too pervasive lavender note is a really cheap smelling, “colognie”, bargain basket type of scent. It opens up with a nose stinging blast of alcohol. The citrus element struggles weakly to make itself known. After 10 minutes, it’s not there at all. What you are left with in the dry down is that COMPLETELY GENERIC, budget type lavender that we are all familiar with in cheap, poorly concocted fragrances. It does have good longevity, 8+ hours though after the 2 hour mark it is almost exclusively a skin scent. I was expecting a polished, fresh, better blended quality in this fragrance.
Sometimes you really can get an inexpensive fragrance that punches WAY above it’s weight class (Hello Azzaro Chrome and Nautica Voyage) but this fragrance is clearly a case of getting what you pay for, maybe less. I’ve read that the sport version is much different as an improvement. I’ll give it a shot since a 100 ml can be had for not much more than the cost ($20) of a sample on Ebay.

A lovely, fresh and well blended scent. Moderate longevity and silage. This is a soapy and extremely fresh and likable spring and summer perfume. Good stuff.

Beautifully blended aromatic lavender scent which works amazingly well during Spring and Summer months. This was a blind buy which worked its way into regular rotation during this summer. I am very pleased to have this beauty in my collection.
For the money this is a must have addition to any wardrobe. It doesn’t shout as it doesn’t have to, it whispers but still gets noticed.
I get 4-6 hours longevity and decent projection.
    Beautiful stuff!!

I first knew about it from an Uber rider today, my initial impression was “wait a minute, are you wearing Marbert Man?” he said, no, it’s Lanvin L’homme. A definite blind buy.
and this is the curse and the blessing of being an Uber driver ladies and gentlemen.

Sophisticated, manly, fresh, light and smooth. The opening is heavenly, classy, dynamic and soothing shifting between refreshing mandarin, warm spices and woods. One of the most pleasant smells I’ve felt in my entire life. The middle notes are my least favourite part; watery and peppery and sometimes a bit harsh for the nose just like Lanvin Oxygen. The base that comes through after three to four hours on my skin is a clean vanilla and musk scent, smooth and soothing, very light and inoffensive. This was my signature scent for a couple of years before I found some better alternatives. Reminds me of those days and I still wear it from time to time. It’s the most relaxing and soothing scent in my opinion.

I purchased Lanvin L’Homme during my Spring cheapie buying spree last year (aka Spring Frag Fling) because it looked liked an interesting Spring/Summer scent and it was very cheap on the discount market.
I gotta admit that I’ve worn this quite a bit the past two Spring/Summer seasons. To me, Lanvin L’homme is a pretty simple, straight-forward, aromatic freshie that won’t knock anyone’s socks off. However, that’s also part of it’s charm because it polished, professional and non-offensive…and makes for a perfect Spring/Summer office fragrance, which I wear when I want to exude an attitude of team player and be approachable to all.
This fragrance projects moderately and lasts 5-6 hours on my skin, which is just perfect for this kind of fragrance. I have hundreds of fragrances and I’m getting ever penny out of my $20 purchase. The house of Lanvin has never disappointed me.

  19. :

    4 out of 5

Nice but nothing special. Typical fresh, floral, sporty man’s fragrance. For casual occasions, running errands, working around the house, office, hanging out with friends, Sunday morning breakfast with the wife, and basically any occasion. Ideal for the summer because it’s sporty and fresh and can be worn even on hot humid days. The longevity is not much, I get 2 to 3 hours on skin, and little longer on shirt. All in all, it’s a basic scent, one of those fragrances you can wear when you don’t know what to wear. It reminds me of something Adidas would release at $10 3.4oz. Nevertheless, not every fragrance in your collection can be one of your favorites. We all need a Lanvin L’Homme kind of scent to wear from time to time.

  20. :

    4 out of 5

“Masterpiece” might be going a bit too far to describe Lanvin L’Homme, but it’s definitely a classic.
I see it as a twist on a traditional EDC, with a lovely open of florals (mainly lavender) and citrus (bergamot and neroli) tempered with mint and spice. This then evolves into a musky amber, which sustains through the drydown.
The bottle is also a delight, a lovely art deco- inspired piece that makes a good companion to Lanvin’s Éclat d’Arpege Pour Homme.
Longevity is average, I get around 4 hours with moderate sillage.
In short, a classic fragrance that’s suitable for any occasion. Not quite a masterpiece, but at this price point it’s very good value.

  21. :

    4 out of 5

Just to throw my 2 cents in here:
I blind bought this based on the numerous “masterpiece” comments below and of course the cheap price.
Perhaps it’s just me but… this is a totally average fragrance.
It’s most dominant notes are lavender and bergamot, everything else kind of mashes together without being discernible. Maybe the mint stands out a bit. Later in dry down you get the vanilla/musk combo coming through.
It’s sort of fresh, sort of day time, sort of clean, sort of spicy… just a bunch of “sort of”.
It has grown on me over time, so maybe there is still hope.
But if you really want to know what this smells like before you buy it, just imagine to yourself what a generic scent from the 1990s smells like (Polo Sport, Tommy by Tommy, etc)… this is just another variation of that style.

  22. :

    5 out of 5

On the quality-per-spend scale, this is an aromatic masterpiece – I cannot stop sniffing my wrist – very happy with this blind buy. These notes are blended so expertly it seems to smell slightly different every time I catch a whiff. It’s anther one of those scents that seems to exist outside of its individual components – it’s much easier to think of the scent itself that to imagine the various notes that comprise it.
I didn’t even know this when I bought it, but I’m not at all surprised this is by Alberto Morillas – in the realm of masculine scents he seems to have made the lion’s share of my favorites.
I also want to compare them side by side, but the drydown makes me think immediately of a slightly drier Bleu de Chanel after the grapefruit opening wears out.

    SAYA MEREKOMENDASIKAN.

What a nice cheapie and goodie.
    Minty lavender/floral and citrusy one.
Great for spring and summer at day & night!!
Very versatile and loved by other people.
The only downfall its his longevity 6 hrs max
    Recommended for any age group
    so 8/10 🙂

A truly pleasant, soft and smooth, clean and fresh, well-balanced and long lasting blend of mainly lavender, mint and bergamot on a velvety woody and musky base with hints of vanilla in the drydown; classy and very affordable 🙂

  26. :

    3 out of 5

Many people tend to call anything leathery, heavy and smokey automatically “classy”, “deep” or even a “masterpiece”. This is pure nonsense. This very scent here, is one heck of a classy and complex scent without all those heavy notes, without containing smoke, chocolate, tobacco, vanilla etc…
This one screams class, understatement, warmth, creaminess. A beautiful interpretation of lavender and mint, decently blended with bergamot, wood and flowery components. A heavyweight without being heavy. Nice stuff.
PS: You mix it with one or two sprays of Prada Luna Rossa and it becomes truly heavenly. Two different interpretations of lavender that complement eachother perfectly.

This is probably one of the prettiest fragrance a man can wear without being feminine lol.
Honestly, this is one for a pretty man. It’s soft, pleasant, a touch of aquatic but just a touch, and soft.
I just got mine today ( had it last way back when I was in my teens and forgot about it )
It’s definitely one for the collection… spring or summer will be just right for it.

  28. :

it starts with a blast of citrus freshness and then it start to morph in to flowers(lavender) specially, this would be perfect if it wasn’t for the poor longevity and silage, very good in deed but needs that something special…..

In office, under the spell of air-conditioned, it’s a tamed fragrance. Good but ordinary.
But in the summer heat it becomes a wild beast.

Update: The more I get to know this fragrance, the more its individual elements start to remind me of other classic scents of its era. Lanvin L’Homme has a very prominent lavender and dihydromyrcenol accord which is pure Cool Water. It also has a musk, amber and vanilla accord which reminds me of CK Be. It’s a good compromise between both scents – softer and more floral than Cool Water, but sharper and longer lasting than Be. I sold the CK and Davidoff scents, but still have the Lanvin.

An underrated classic. Its a clean and fresh scent, a great addition for the collection. This is master piece by Alberto Morillas. Once again Kudos to Mr Morillas!

  34. :

Fresh has never felt so luxurious.
Lanvin L’Homme is very much of its era – the heyday of clean, fresh scents. It may lack the name recognition of its more widely known ’90s kin – Acqua di Gio, L’eau D’Issey et al – but it is by no means inferior. In fact, it is arguably the best fragrance in its class. With more of a marketing push, it could have been the classic laundry-clean scent of the decade. That’s truly how good it is.
Lanvin L’Homme’s most prominent opening notes – lime, mint and lavender – have a clear similarity to the classic Tommy Hilfiger scent, Tommy, from the same nose. Lanvin opens just as cleanly, but with a welcome dose of spice. Where this scent sets itself apart, however, is in the base – a warm, soft mix of vanilla, amber and musk. The result is that it opens as a semi-aquatic and dries down as a musky skin scent. It truly is divine.
The performance is also very good for a ’90s fresh scent. Unlike that other ’90s classics by Alberto Morillas, CK One, it lasts well. Its performance is up there with his other great scent of the decade, Acqua di Gio. The watery, candied scents of today could learn a thing or two from this juice.
The bottle is also a joy. Solid glass, a cap held in place by an excellent clasp, and a very good sprayer. It perfectly suits the blue juice inside.
Lanvin is an excellent choice for casual, office and summer use. A true ’90s classic – 8/10.

Beautiful, fresh gentle fragrance. Lavender, cardamom, but there is nutmeg in here, I’m almost certain, which, to me gives it the effect of a smoother, lighter, sweeter more refined Dunhill Edition in the opening few minutes. I’m not normally able to pick out lots of notes in a fragrance, but this also projects a smooth mint note also. Sorry if I’m over using the word smooth, but my overall impression of this is a smooth, gentle, calming and refined scent. Although it may seem to contradict what I’ve said already, I can really see where @Housebliss is coming from when he mentions that he detects similarities with Declaration L’Eau by Cartier (as the scent develops)
Great blind buy for £16.99 on eBay.
I will update on here as soon as I have an idea of the performance.
Update: Performance is very poor. With 3 hours total (yes, beginning to end) not such a great blind buy after all 🙁
    It does smell lovely though.

Very mild, subtle, lavender-based scent. Opens with a slight aquatic burst with herbs and woods, much like a less strong Versace pour Homme. In 30 min. the aqua dies off and the lavender and citrus step up. Following that, there’s a mild musk background with some light pepper and other spices wrapped in slightly stronger florals and woods. For a weak-ish scent, there’s more going on than most, with a lot of stages. Works well in warm weather. Get it cheap and it can be a solid easygoing everyday staple.

The day they discontinue or reformulate this fragrance I will so disappointed with LANVIN, since I am a fan of this cologne and I am glad it has maintain its scent since I first smelled back at the late 90’s when it was launched, and is one of the citrus fragrance I love that can be worn in the winter and summer with no doubt of always being pleasant and drawing complements. I’ve been replenishing for quite some years, and so far it has remained the same.

An excellent daily-wear workhorse fragrance in the clean lavender/citrus genre. Lanvin L’Homme is 100% competent and never falters while delivering what is a quintessential version of the fresh aromatic masculine. Easy to wear, completely inoffensive, and conveying at all times a subject that is alert, approachable and tasteful, this fragrance is easy to overlook due to the abundance of similar fragrances within the genre, and nothing too ‘exciting’ in the note pyramid. However, here Morillas demonstrates the mastery which makes him renowned among perfumers. L’Homme begins with a powerful lime note of excellent longevity, its acidity cooled by a crisp, unsweetened spearmint. This transitions quickly to an aromatic, upbeat lavender that avoids soapy ostentatious detached formality as its accented with sage and cardamom. The musk in the base possesses just the right degree of warmth, and rather than detached as white musk can sometimes be, or “perfumey” as it often is, it feels human and approachable and blends well with the skin. Although the pyramid suggests sandalwood I get a middle of the road, woody vetiver, neither too grassy or rooty, but right in the center where it should be in this instance. Overall, L’Homme is an expertly composed men’s fragrance, and something I think every guy over 21 could use in his wardrobe at one point or another.
Thumbs up and highly recommended as a blind buy unless the genre itself is just something you’re not into.

Whats not to like about this gem? Fresh clean and an element of spice. Its bottle is really nice. It says summer and I have just stepped out of a shower, and you can here the ZZ Top song, “every girl crazy bout a sharp dressed men” playing from the car he steps out of. You know he will have a hell of a big cigar. Cuban one too! Oh and lovely pair of cufflinks.

For those of you thinking about buying this blindly (like I did), maybe this will help.
I find it very similar to Chrome, Set Sail St. Barts and Declaration L’Eau. Similar style and overall the same vibe and smell among the four.
Needless to say, if you like the three I mentioned you’ll like L’Homme. I’ll be wearing this for a while to figure out if it’s redundant, but I’m hoping it will combine everything I like in the other three and add whatever L’Homme brings to the table.
My initial impression is very good, and I like it. It seems to last a while, but I’m not sure about sillage as I haven’t been wearing it at the office etc.
I’ll give an update after a few wearings.

blind bought. arrived couple 2 ago then i sprayed only im my arms just to get the first impression. i was little disappointed , after a few seconds i could not smell it anymore and musk was off but i knew i should have wait until summer to really get a full appreciation. then today came, a warmer day, so lets go again… 2 in the chest 2 in the arms and you got something good. simple but good. great lavender and the musk toned down. its not strong i have to say, but the refreshing feeling tells you its there
overall its a “like” fragance well worth the little money i paid.

So fresh yet so different from everything we se out there in the market. This fragrance really has its own personality. This is not “the guy wearing cologne”. It is fresh indeed but has some depth and complexity, which makes it communicate freshness in its own way. I’m not gonna talk about the notes because this has been well pointed in previous reviews. Lanvin L’homme smells elegant, refined, uplifting and classic. It has kind of a chic noble gentleman vibe to it (probably due to the floral accord). Perfect choice for the office!

Lanvin L’Homme is what squeaky clean smells like. At first you get a burst of aquatics with citrus. It just wakes you up immediately. The dry down is a soft lavender/spicy/minty fragrance that lingers throughout the day. It is perfect for the office since it is not loud. It is also a very nice and clean Spring/Summer daytime fragrance.

It’s a distinct kind of scent. I wish I had words to describe it. ‘Fresh’ doesn’t quite cut it, there are a lot of scents I could call fresh but those fall into at least a few distinct types of ‘fresh’…
It has something a little harsh about it, something that – personally – brings images of middle-aged overly aggressive men without much charm to them. Yeah, I think it lacks a bit of ‘charm’… I could say it’s a bit ‘soulless’ to me. Like a scent of something pleasant and unique (think a far away asylum), but more like scent of a thing than a person.
I think it’s the most pleasant-smelling scent of the scents I wouldn’t recommend.
That’s my very subjective reception of this perfume.

~ This is what air, clean white shirts and heavenly dreams are made of! From the very crisp and fresh bergamot and neroli opening to my favorite middle notes of a soft creamy lavender this is a pleasant people pleaser! The base offers lingering amber notes that are almost translucent but still detectable in almost a subconscious level. A smart, sophisticated, safe skin scent with lasting sillage! Perfect for a day at the office or a sunny afternoon in the backyard on the hammock.
    Kind Regards, Plat ~

tested this masterpiece today. Never thought of it before I came to Egypt but now that I’m here I was in the search for something suitable for the hot dry desert veather over here. a friend just showed it to me and it totally blew me away!! wow what a bomb!! not only that it’s a pur hot weather frag but the freshness and the supenb cleanliness that it makes you feel is more than perfect the super poluted dusty air in Cairo. Definitely a buy for me!!!
    Edit:
I just love the feeling this scent gives me. For best performance try spraying it like I do, in the early early dawn, after a cold shower. The openning and the lavender boosts the feeling of cleanliness and just sets my mood for the rest of the day. Love it!!!

Purplesaurus Rex Kool-Aid from when you were a kid. Lanvin L’Homme is a scent you wear on a day when you really don’t want to be bothered by scent. It’s light, airy, tangy and simplistic with a “down to earth” stigma attached to it. It’s a great gym, work, starter fragrance, or just something to knock around town in during the day. It always puts things back in perspective for me when the warmer days arrive.

An excellent one-of-a-kind scent — quite soft and floral overall. Alberto Morillas is the master of freshness so don’t be afraid to blind buy if that’s your genre.
Oddly enough, I can’t wear this because my chemistry is just too “blokey” and this seems unisex on me, but I do own and love the sport flanker. As a side note, the bottle looks great and feels really nice in your palm.

I think Fabio Conde describes this perfectly. It is a fine offering from a fine fashion house. Fresh and elegant with a modest sillage and longevity, this is a safe summer scent harbouring no unpleasant surprises and which won’t leave you with scent fatigue by the end of the day or the bottle.
Lanvin’s Avant Garde, although a totally different proposition, is also terrific – but a cool weather certainty. Perfume houses of this order of heritage (it did after all give the world Arpège) don’t often get things wrong even where there is considerable diversity within the product range.

A fresh and slightly floral by the combination of neroli and bergamot opening and with a very clear and predominant lavender.
Aroma becomes more enhanced and becomes aromatic and fougere with the entry of sage hint of mint or peppermint appear together which makes it very refreshing almost refined feel something together spicy but light.
Background by velvety vanilla and musk brings certain creaminess it´s a beautiful scent and off the radar. Those looking for something along the lines of the 212 but more exclusively found!

This is the bottle that I am buying since 10 years.
    It smells fantastic.
The opening and the drydown and everything.
    Medium projection
    Very long lasting.
You can smell it after 10 hours on your skin.
    I ll give it a 10/10.

    这款香水的味道跟雪碧汽水有点像,但我不是我的最爱,我偏爱重口味的香水。
