I’m surprised no one has reviewed this yet, it’s one of my favorites from Urban Outfitters’ very expansive ‘Gourmand’ fragrance range. (If you’re a perfume snob, do not overlook these — it’s a very interesting range, with most being very daring for the price and well-formulated)
Is this one daring and unique? No. It’s a sweet milky coconut vanilla. This has been done before. Is it good at what it is? Absolutely.
I own the “parfum en l’eau”, which is an opaque white water perfume that has a low sillage but lasts all day as a barely-there skin scent. I love to spray it lavishly, I love the fact that there’s absolutely no smell of alcohol in the opening unlike similar cheap body mists, and I love how easily it layers with other fragrances in my collection. It turns all my orientals into vanilla orientals, it adds warmth and a touch of sweetness to my greens and it turns my gourmands from girly to sexy. It’s basically a cheating pass to add vanilla base notes to any fragrance, and I’m a vanilla addict.
My favorite thing to do lately is to layer it with Dior’s Dune Sun, also an alcohol-free fragrance. That’s a really boozy sweet skin scent, and this makes it so much more innocent.
I recommend this to all gourmand, vanilla, and coconut lovers, the price is too low to resist!
(but do not buy the co-ordinating body oil, body “mist” etc — they all reek of alcohol and don’t do it any justice)
