Description

LADY COOL is the fourth fragrance of the Dueto Parfums collection (after: City Love, City Oud and Golden Boy) built around her personality. It opens with sweet and fresh notes, awakes us with passion and wins us over with woody notes enriched with sensual musk. Top notes incorporate lemon, nashi pear and cardamom. A heart adds sweet floral notes of rose and orange blossom accompanied by a trail of sandalwood, tonka beans, vanilla and musk. The fragrance was created by perfumer Olivier Pescheux of Givaudan.Lady Cool is available in a flacon shaped just like the previous editions of Dueto Parfums, it is colored in pink and has a black stopper. It can be obtained as 100 ml EDP Lady Cool was launched in 2012.

I wanted to like this, because the design element of it was cool. But there is zero hipster edginess to this at all — this is about as cool as a grandmother setting up her tea table for a tea party. At first, it seemed to have a bright, loud youthful sparkle. But that faded into grandmother. I could never wear this thick, cloying perfume. On me, it is completely pear and orange blossom, really thick and heavy, strong, and so feminine that you should be required to wear pink or black lace when wearing this. The combination of floral feminine heavy old-fashioned-ness crashes on the floor for me. I’m sorry, but this fragrance is a disaster, which is rare for me to say.

This is my favorite of all the Dueto fragrances; however, Dueto itself is a line I don’t much care for. It’s a fairly pleasant pear-and-rose scent, fairly one-dimensional, sweet and tart. I think it would really shine if layered with a masculine scent like Prada Infusion d’Homme (trust me). Overall nothing that’s going to blow you away, but pleasant enough for what it is.

Lady Cool, what a downright terrible name.
I am generally a hater of all things pear. Blame it on Victoria’s Secret Pear Glace & every other girl I went to middle/high school with.
I do like Lady Cool though. I think it’s the generous helping of sandalwood which is slightly incensey and adds a certain richness / Oriental quality to this fragrance. Quite a lot of cardamom in here as well and the tonka + rose combination makes for a pleasant gourmandish vibe.
I appreciate that I get a similar vibe throughout all the Dueto fragrances I have tried. Although note wise this couldn’t be more different from City Oud & City Love they seem to all be working from the same base.

Eurgh! Paco Rabanne go out of this bottle! But what is doing this deodorant in a niche brand bottle? This is extremely bad, syrup patchofruit as we unfortunately smelled … Million!
We must paint the bottle in gold, stick on it a graphic style tribal tattoo that girls wear above the line of the buttocks, lower the price in half and it will sell to the chain in all perfumeries.
All the perfumes of this brand are bad (Golden Boy is ok), it must absolutely be avoided.
Eurgh!

Dueto Parfums, a new house from France, appears to be capitalizing on a number of trends simultaneously: city names, oud and, in the case of this fragrance, Lady Cool, the appeal of celebrity scents. Well, except that this is a universal celebrity scent: a celebrity scent without a named celebrity. We’re all celebrities in the cyberage, so this fragrance is tapping into the consumer’s inner celebrity. How does it smell?
Well, it smells like an above-average celebrity scent to me. A somewhat sweet and abstractly fruity floriental fragrance. It smells fine, for what it is, and the MSRP, at around $100 for 100ml, is not totally outrageous. If this were a true niche perfume, then it would be a bargain. Instead, it’s more like a mainstream designer launch poured into a bottle on which the names of many famous cities of the world have been inscribed, and then marketed to all of those ladies out there aspiring to celebrity.
I see this as a perfect signature scent for the amateur talents competing on television these days for possible future stardom later on down the line. This seems like a Twitter launch to me.

Okay. Sparkly aldehydes, sharp pepper and grapefruit. Base hints of vanilla, but there’s not much there besides a certain softness behind the bright grapefruit and peppery notes. Not my thing, but a zingy bright scent

Received a sample of this just recently. Its very interesting. On my skin I got musk, vanilla, some woodiness, some pretty awesome an delicate florals, and something that smelled a bit like raspberry. Its not heavy, quite refreshing actually. Its vey humid today, though not hot, and the perfume didn’t feel oppressive at all. Unique smelling but also inoffensive, I think it will go over well for some.
Its sweet but not sugary. I think it will appeal to those who like designer frags but has enough uniqueness to it that it will also appeal to some in the niche set.
The one thing I wasn’t too pleased about is longevity. 4 hours on my skin and its literally a skin scent.
