Really excellent and distinctive nutmeg/peppery opening, but on me this flattens out after a short while into something more like a very expensive, very slippery, very smoothing & soothing hair conditioner or lotion sort of smell. I thought it was all tonka bean, but no. Really soft and warm and enveloping but just a shade too soapy for true love for me – it’s not hardcore weird enough, so it’s more of a mainstream hippie-with-a-job than a full-blown wild commune sort of scent. But as a budget warm spicy, by all means, it does the job at a very reasonable price and would be hard to really object to.

Great TRAGEDY! perfume for nothing. DO NOT KNOW ANY NOODLES, SAME WATER. THIS IS NOT SINCE SINSELVES DO NOT FEEL, NO ROOMS smell, not at all like Fancy Nights! POOR. Watch out for the money. Do not buy!

Got this blind buy in today, Thankfully it was not a bad one at all. I got this due to the reviews here. The comments regarding it’s spices, similarity to other warm spicy scents like Fancy Nights, and the heavy pronouncement of Myrhh were my main deciding factors. After trying it several times, including on my son to gather it’s sillage by smelling it on another person (He loved it by the way) cemented my opinion that this is quite the underrated scent. The spicy bloom came across very strong, especially the Myrhh which I had been looking for quite a while to find a heavy Myrhh scent. (Now to find a Black Locust one…lol). It settled down into only a slightly sweet scent and maintained it’s spicy power throughout the 7-8 hours I continued to smell it without trying to. It wasn’t as strong as I assumed it was going to be, but not in a bad way. Certainly not overpowering and just the right sillage in my opinion. I will certainly be sure to keep a bottle of this in my wardrobe as it fits in with my spicy, sultry and warm scent obsession very nicely. Smells a lot more expensive than it is, and had no chemical or synthetic smells that I could notice which one might expect from a less expensive fragrance like this. (This is the Victory version for clarity). Rated a 9/10 to this spicy loving nose.

Very similar to Fancy Nights, but less sweet. I prefer FN, but this is not bad.

This little inexpensive beauty is gorgeous!I could say its Kenzo jungle elephants baby sis.
I love it! Beautiful and lightly spicy!

I get a ton of spice with a warm myrrh base and iris is the dominant floral note for me. This is a wonderful scent for spice/oriental freaks that is not super heavy, making it totally appropriate for day or summer wear

I just received this today and immediately had to try it. Why is no one shouting from the rooftops about this wonderful fragrance? On first spray on my skin I immediately get cinnamon red hots and jasmine. After about 30 minutes I get spices, jasmine, musky, incense. It is very mysterious. I have never considered myself bohemian but if this is the scent associated with it count me in. As previous poster suggested I will include that mine is produced by Parlux and not Victory. I think this is a love it or hate it scent and won’t be for everyone. Definitely one I would suggest trying before you buy but for the price if you have to blind buy it’s worth the chance. I can see this becoming my signature.

This was a blind (and very pleasantly so!) buy for me and I immediately fell in love with it. It’s so “me” – I was born in the last year of the 1960’s and I’m such a “hippy chick”; both in my thinking and my dressing. This fragrance TOTALLY appeals to that side of me. The incense(y), musky, sandalwood, spiciness of this fragrance appeals to me intensely. As another reviewer below noted, it is incredibly unique, particularly in a world full of vanilla-sweet-sugary fragrances. I always receive compliments when wearing it and I think I’m up to my 2nd or 3rd bottle of it. In my Top 5 fragrances of all time, it’s one that will NEVER be out of my collection (unless they discontinue it, which I hope they don’t!).

This is a light spicy fragrance that is good for Spring or Summer mornings. It goes on quite strong spicy musky and then starts to fade pretty quickly. However that could be the musk playing tricks with my nose. I can sometimes be anosmic. For his reason I find it to be very ethereal. However, when I think I can’t smell it anymore I suddenly get whiffs of a very lovely clean light spicy fragrance. I must admit that I like it but it is not a love. It is very inoffensive. I’m using up my decant at the moment. Thank you Hija for letting me try this. It does remind me of Worth Je Reviens Couture, althought I find the Worth to be stronger and prettier.

This is a hell of a monster scent! But, first things first, dominant players here are at first spice and myrrh, music to my nose! It starts deliciously spicy and resinous for a very long time, after about a couple of hours the iris comes through BIG TIME! I can detect a soft and gentle sandalwood with a whisper of orange, but the iris/ rose overwhelms the lot! The bergamot adds just a touch of freshness and musk is just about detectable. This is a case of spicy iris/rose/ amber reigning supreme. Vanilla softens and rounds up the overall effect adding elegance and femininity to the whole composition. For some reason the strong floral/smoke aspect brings to mind Maroussia, only instead of Incense there is myrrh and sandalwood. I can’t recommend enough this gem. It is cheap, but smells like a million pounds! Absolute Love!!!!!!

The lovely Dierre gave me a generous decant of this scent (among many others) and I am so glad she did! This scent was mentioned when I asked for fresh oriental recommendations and I’ve wanted to try it ever since. It is very fresh and spicy and totally unique. And it lasts forever on me. I don’t think it smells like a head shop, although, I’m not even sure I’ve ever been in a head shop. But I can say it doesn’t smell like my college record shop that sold incense, etc., which is what I was expecting. The spice is great in the cooler weather and I am looking forward to trying it in the warmer months as well.

Spicy and fresh at the same time, with relatively gentle sillage for such a spicy scent. Would be a good choice for hot weather if you like spicy fragrances because it isn’t too strong. The only real problem is it doesn’t last long about 3 hours, but at the price you can afford to respray. Sweet, too, but not too sticky.

This is actually what I was looking for when I bought Molinard Musc instead. However, Molinard Musc, with nag champa is much too masculine and not sweet enough for me.
XOXO Kundalini is a very feminine, strong mix of spices, and yes, reminds me of a head shop or smoke shop full of incense sticks. Mine is the Parlux version, and it goes on strong, then settles to a moderate projection, staying forever , even through a shower. A moderate to light cloud of incense and spices lingers and trails throughout drydown.
Non offensive, but personally, I wouldn’t wear it to the office. It does have a distinct “hippie” vibe, much too “laid back”, casual and carefree for office work.
Wonderfully affordable hidden treasure, made for fun and relaxation. I LOVE it !

Another blind buy for me and many more to come. It’s fun and most of the time because I come to Fragrantica, it’s a win/win. This perfume did not disappoint. I got it for under ten dollars and figured what the heck. I just sprayed it on and I am really digging this smell. Not loud, not screaming, just comfortably there comforting you. I do smell the incense but I have to take a good whiff of my arm to actually say, ah….there it is. The orange, the african orange flower, the vanilla and the spices I smell. It’s well worth the money I spent to spritz something on just for the heck of it. I actually consider this a unique scent and I like it. Hope this helps.

Dejavu feelings surface that I find very unique and calming. However, I can imagine some arguing this to be a `granny fragrance`because of the unique musk fragrance -but I like it. I would wear it for the evening and maybe in cold winter months, because of the notes of spices with Myrhh and Vanilla giving it a powdery `incense vibe`.

This was a blind buy for me based on the notes and reviews. Note: This is the Parlux version.
I have smelled thousands of fragrances in my lifetime and I can honestly say I have never smelled anything like this one. It is incredibly unique, one of a kind. This is what I think a Niche designer dreams of. Something never smelt before.
I am having a difficult time describing this fragrance but let me say Kundalini is a very rich heavy yet light scent. It’s got huge initial blast power but it does calm down once it hits the skin and settles into a gentle aroma. It lingers on the skin for a long time. If you want to smell unlike anything else then give this a try. In my opinion this could easily be a $200 niche fragrance. It’s extremely inexpensive for a giant bottle. I find it very feminine with a slight vintage vibe without being old school smelling. Also THIS ONE LASTS EVEN AFTER A SHOWER. I am not kidding it won’t come off. Anyhow I am not sure how or when this might fit into my wardrobe or if I even love it… but I appreciate the uniqueness of it.

This is a nice rich spicy scent, balsamic and incense heavy–and yet not really heavy. It’s a hot day, and this is not overpowering. To be fair, my application was very light; this could be overpowering if over applied. There is a hint of powder, but mostly incense and spice. It’s in the same family as Aviance and Ciara. I think I need to snag a bottle, as I know this can be found cheaply at TJ Maxx.

I have so many fragrances. This is one of the only scents that my husband actually came out on his own and said smelled really good on. To me it’s a big incense, oriental, spicy, bubbling bomb. If you like scents like Fancy Nights by Jessica Simpson, Cinnabar, Opium, and all of those with incense and spicy notes, you’ll probably like this one. It does not smell dated either, it’s got a more fresh and modern effervescence to it on top of the other notes I mentioned.

You will either love Kundalini or hate her. Most definately not safe blind buy territory, though the bottle is adorable for itself alone. 🙂
For me, a mesmerizing and utterly beguiling little fragrance, unlike anything else. I picture this smell as being the most suitable for Avon’s Mesmerize for women, even though in reality that fragrance doesn’t match it’s name or bottle at all… quite boring and one dimensional.
With Kundalini you will never be bored. Spices billow out, with soft florals and sweet powder peeking through the heady clouds. I don’t mean to imply that she is ever a heavy hitter, though, as sillage is moderate and longevity somewhat limited. I tend to wear this Dream – in – a – bottle on cloth or in my hair, where the scent will linger softly until washing. The effect is tantalizing in the extreme.
I own and love several ‘bombastic’ incense perfumes, so Kundalini comes across as distinctly easy going and delightful. Strangely, she DOES smell blue, which could indeed be iris – a note I simply love! Ideal for spraying on one’s pillow to accompany and encourage sound sleep and good dreams.
    Five Stars!

this is strong myrhh, patchouli and incense scent. Spices galore. This is one fragrance that I couldn’t stomach. There are some orientals that I can handle but this is not one of them. I can’t imagine why anyone thinks this is a “light” scent. This is heady, in your face fragrance. And one thing that it isn’t, is young. My husband actually recoiled in horror and claimed that it smelled like closet in someone’s old house that has been sprayed with musty stale perfume.
In my opinion, this is not a safe blind buy. You have to like strong incensy orientals.

I love the spice scent and the myrrh. It reminds me of the Holidays and I know I will wear it often during this time of year. The bottle is a pretty blue with a lovely metallic pink heart cap. I think the heart design is typical of the XOXO brands. This fragrance was brought to my attention by the Indian type design of the box label. So interesting looking. This would make a wonderful gift for anyone who loves heart shapes. As for the fragrance, it last for hours and hours on myself. I smell the orange from time to time and the rose sneaks in quietly. Nothing is nicer to me about this scent than the spice and myrrh though. What a great purchase and at a great price.

I read the reviews after I bought it for my daughter for her 25th B-Day! I was very worried by the reviews! But the one thing I can say is you can’t always believe what people say, sometimes you have to make up your own mind! My daughter and I both loved it! It does have a incensey, spicy smell and it does seem a bit strong at first! But when it subsides it is very powdery and feminine! After about 8 hours, I leaned in to kiss her and could still smell it on her! I told her that she smelt good and she said that she couldn’t even smell it anymore! I am very glad I took a chance on it!

In that a bottle of this only cost me $5.99 from Ross I didn’t have high expectations. Can’t stand it on its own…oh man, it is bitter smelling! But yesterday at about 5pm I smoothed on unscented Eucerin lotion and layered Kundalini with Nicole by Nicole Richie. OMG, this is a beautiful combo.
Extra plus, the fragrance lasted until I showered it off at 8am.
I don’t like either of these scents on their own, but together they’re a match made in fragrance heaven.
I haven’t had luck with every scent I’ve bought from Ross, but I am beyond happy with Kundalini and I plan on layering it with other perfumes to give them complexity, depth and lasting power.

I love heavy orientals, spicy & incense a plus.. I purchased this new, got the parlux version and although I do love the smell it wasnt very strong and didnt last long maybe 2hrs.. so disappointed. I will have to search out the victory one.
The incense, sandalwood & patcholi notes are amazing. Totally agree with the ‘head shop’ comments. The floral and fruits are extremely light if even there to me.

There are two different versions of this EDP on Ebay at the moment, one produced by Parlux and the other from Victory. I see two very conflicting kinds of reviews for the scent, so I wonder if the difference could be due to the different producers? It might help to know which version of the scent you are reviewing to see if there is any consistency. Negative reviews coming from one producer while the positive reviews are from the other . . . The bottles are different, however the boxes look pretty much the same. I received mine today (made by Parlux) and while it was nice, it wasn’t nearly as strong on me as it seems to be on others writing here, nor did it have much longevity or development.

I’m glad I gave this one a chance. At first I thought it smelled like Old Spice, but after a few weeks I’ve totally changed my mind. It is actually a beautiful blend of Emeraude and Magie Noire with a touch of Oscar de la Renta. Yes, it’s very spicy at first, but tones down after a while.
Update: Very much like Si Lolita and Estee Lauder Private Collection.

Wow! This one is NOT for me, even at only $5.99 for a 1.7 at Ross! I will pass it on to my friend who LOVES deep, dark mysterious scents. VERY incense-y. To me it smells just like walking into an Indian smoke shop. Buyer beware – this is for a specific spicy taste in fragrance.

  28. :

    3 out of 5

Wow, this smells expensive. I’m sure it is some dupe of some exotic expensive perfume. I can’t believe how cheap I got this for. It reminds me a lot of Roberto Cavallli in the long pink bottle. It smells of spices and flowers and a bunch of other stuff I can’t describe. It is pretty strong and long lasting on me. I bet if you put this in some fancy bottle with some fancy name, this would easily sell for $100 and those fancy perfumistas would be all over this. For sure not your typical fruit and sweet perfume but this is sophistication. More of an evening scent to me, not casual. I could see a hippy, gypsy or belly dancer wearing this.

The fragrance is unlike anything you have ever smelled. I got mine on Overstock.com for a song! Whatever you do, DO NOT OVERSPRAY. WOO HOO! It is a very strong scent. The spices are kicking, honey. I need more time to try this on, but this is my opening impression. I do agree that it gives the impression of a ‘head shop’ though!

    Update:
I sold my bottle of this last December. I saw the reviews for this online recently and was reminded of how much I enjoyed wearing this last Spring/Early summer and was feeling so sad that I let it go. I purchased another bottle off of Overtstock.com last week for a mere ten dollars!!! I have come to realize that I can spend ten to two hundred dollars on a scent and it doesn’t matter if the price point is low or high…it is the scent that matters! If it works for you or you love and enjoy it, then it is “right”. Don’t be put off by a fragrance that is lower in price. Some of my less expensive scents have the highest concentrations of fragrance oils and distilled notes in them! Anyway, it arrived today. I love this scent! It smells clean and soapy, not unlike the type of soaps that you receive at an upscale hotel. My father brought me soaps back from Paris and they smelled so much like this perfume it takes me right back to opening the box of those tiny soap gems. It is clean yet a tad spicy. The color of the perfume is a light blue which always puts in my head that it will have an aquatic spin on it. Not so. The patchouli and vetiver in this dominates my skin although I noticed they are not ingredients that are listed out independent of the others on the list of notes, so that is odd…If you like clean, powdery scents that are a tad masculine at times, give this a try. I simply am intrigued with this sexy scent.
Longevity on me: good…3-4 plus hours
Projection: about 2-3 feet from body
Silage: quite strong and noticeable for such an inexpensive scent.
I can’t compare this to any other scents I own or have sampled/smelled that are similar, sorry. Kundalini is one of a kind.
NOTE: This is NOTHING like the XOXO original scent, so don’t purchase this thinking it is a flanker with an additional fruity or floral note thrown in. I owned the original as well and that one is a spicy amber oriental. Totally different compositions and ideas. The original is similar (IMHO) to Liz C.’s Spark, CK’s Obsession, or Mambo.
Love to my Fragrantica Family! xoxo

I bought this on a whim a few months ago. I was kinda unsure about the fragrance at first, but it definitely grew on me, and my mom and sister LOVED it. It got me a lot of attention- people at work complimented me on it. My boyfriend and his friend keep telling me that I smell like a man when I’m wearing it though which makes me a little self conscious. It is a little masculine, which I like. It has a tendency to get overbearing if you are wearing it in an enclosed space. It smells like incense and spice and I only smell the citrus at times. This is a perfume for a confident perfume wearer as it is strong, unusual, and slightly masculine.

Got mine today, also at TJ Maxx! I love incense, and sandalwood is one of my favorite scents, so Kundalini is a good one for me. Doesn’t seem to last long at all on my skin, but I can still smell it on my sweater. Kundalini’s crisp and peppery sandalwood spice makes me want to find a similar, warmer fragrance, with some sort of smokey scent in it too.

  33. :

    3 out of 5

I have to say this is really odd on me… I don’t know what to make of it! It has a very green hippy out-doorsy thing going on to me which I would not have expected with the list of notes. I don’t even get the color! I would think that this would have ended up with a nice amber toned juice. The whole thing is just weird. It is not offensive, on the contrary, I enjoy it sprayed in the air and around me. Just not sure if I’m going to wear it. If you like Jean Nate, there is something similar in this that may be enjoyable to you.

    What twillocks said…Head shop.
    Cheap as chips, reasonably inoffensive.
Not much staying power, but then, for $10, what does one expect?
I use it scent my closet and car…

I may be falling in love. I tried this on in the store a few weeks ago and didn’t buy it. At the time it reminded me Aromatic Elixr but not as unique…..it didn’t really do anything for me. I decided to buy a bottle today because I was in the mood for something “spicy” and patchouliesqe. Wow….today I got something TOTALLY different. Right up front I did get a little of that AE but within a minute or two, a beautiful, heady bouquet of jasmine and honeysuckle bloomed with a sprinkle of black pepper, grass, dirt and ice water! I literally felt lifted by this scent, like I was up in the clouds and being wafted by a cool breeze.Dramatic….I know….but it moved me.It does have a bit of a head shop feel as noted before….maybe a bit of a likeness to Nag Champa because of it’s sweetness. I’m not usually a floral gal but this stuff is really gettin’ me in the root Chakra! Very sensual.
Edit: Just wanted to add that….yeah…I know it’s cheap and in all honesty, it smells a little cheap too but as far as cheaper perfumes go, this one stands out more for me….it’s more unique. Must mix well with my chemistry as it smells very warm and agreeable. I wanted to also add that it lasts a very long time if sprayed on fabric. I spritzed some on my scarf and a couple days later was still smelling it….smelled even better on the scarf…fresher and more watery.Maybe it would work well as a linen spray as the price is very affordable ( $9.99 for 3.3 oz)

I got 3.4 oz. bottle in TJ Maxx for $9.99. Of course prior to getting it I checked this site on my i-phone and found no reviews. Perfume pyramid looked good to me and I decided to get it considering the price was also great. To me, this is a very casual perfume. I would wear it to the gym, grocery shopping, running other errands. It is not complicated or sophisticated. It is not heavy, not sexy and does not draw attention. On my skin it did not last a long time. I would not expect to get compliments or get noticed with this perfume. Overall I like it, but it is a very “low key”, “don’t have to cherish” fragrance. Take it with you on a camping trip, beach, hiking, but not to a 5-star restaurant or professional office.
