Description
Join the Club Collection includes ten perfumes representing ten different kind of virtual clubs. Fatal Charme is about elegance, glamour and fashion; Ivory Route is an adventure and travelling club; Marquee represents a theater club; Kind of Blue is all about jazz; 40 knots is a yachts club; Ascot Moon is a horse club; Birdie is for golf lovers; Comandante is for fine cigar lovers; Shunkoin is for meditation and More than Words captures the world of writers and poets.
The ingredients of these fragrances are to be kept a secret. However, each fragrance will have its identification card with a number which one could use to join the real club of the owners of these perfumes. That’s how the concept goes from virtual clubs to forming a real one.
The bottles of the fragrances are made out of authentic blue glass; not the tinted kind but the glass of which the production is limited and are very rare.
Kind of Blue was launched in 2012.

The name of the perfume doesn’t match the composition. On me, it’s an ode to narcissus flower. Not bad, but it lacks originality.

Can’t say I love it, but also definitely can’t see why so much hate. Most likely it has more to do with unfulfilled high expectations than with scent itself, and definitely not its performance!
For me it is not full bottle worthy, but only because it is not my type of perfume. I see 100 reasons why some people could, or even should buy it.

total aromachemical overhanging the floral elements of this scent. slight metallic elements to it, too. look, i won’t say it’s a ‘bad’ scent, all i’ll say is that it doesn’t do anywhere near enough for me. all throughout it smells like a drydown all the way through. i dunno, for me that’s not good enough. don’t get me wrong, it smells like a good drydown, it’s just that there isn’t enough meaty middle and high top. worth a smell…

Like a polite version of Boudoir, beautiful!

It’s a Xerjoff so the blend quality’s there and this has more personality than the line usually delivers. It’s a very floral scent with touches of jasmine over a semi-oriental base and a prominent, narcotic narcissus center stage. The narcissus is the most fascinating part of it because it really does smell like they managed to synthesize the real thing quite well — and narcissus smells amazing. A good amount of character to this one, but it doesn’t offer much more than a natural-smelling floral with a creamy, C-11 style base. Exotic, rich, alluring, it reminds me a little of Tom Ford’s Shanghai Lily only way more amped up. One of the better Xerjoff’s to my nose.

This could be an interesting perfume since its inspiration club is a Blues one. But, i don’t see any references to the golden age of Bluess, but maybe to the 80’s blues era since this fragrance has typical shape of creations from this time. Unfortunately, this is not a well made shape, it seems the imitation of something classic on a tight budget project. Kind of Blue opens with a strong aldehidc aroma, one of those that makes of think of candles, and then quickly turn into a combination, roses, tuberoses and a background of strawberries/berries. This combination makes me think that it might have beta damascone, that was very used during the eighties and has all those nuances. I don’t see any flower absolute here, the tuberose and rose accord doesn’t hide at all their synthetic side (not a problem if it was well worked). Strangely, after this intense floral phase the fragrance disappear on skin after 2 hours. I don’t know what goes here, but certainly i cannot smel.If this is the representation of blues club, certainly is not one on its glory days.

For me, it smelled like an old soap. Nothing I could enjoy. I couldn’t even recognise that supposed high quality of ingredients that Xerjoff says they use. For me it smelled kinda cheap.
Very dissappointed with this house so far.
