I got no spices on me, just fresh rose petals. It was like smelling a bouquet of red roses, with the stems still on them and placing them in a vase of fresh water. Off in the distance I might have gotten a hint of tea, maybe a touch of the leather, but the rose petals dominated hands down. And there was nothing spicy about it…
Unfortunately a few hours later when I went to smell it again to see if it had changed, it was completely gone. Sillage and longevity were abysmal… it had to have only stayed around 3 hours max. Shame.

I like the dry down but I get no tea or leather just rose clove and amber. It’s really nice after about an hour but somewhat overpower at first. I was in the car and felt kind of trapped by it.
I agree with nikoleta1 I am not too into the experimental perfumes thus far (and I have been trying quite a few) they just truly do not even approach the KA-POW of the real deal FRENCH perfume sorry to say.
I am interested in MCMC because the creator studied in France. Thus far of the two I have tried (Maui and Kept) I am not impressed though I LIKE this one and did not like Maui at all.

Strange, smells borderline unpleasent, experimental perfume is not for me.

MCMC KEPT is a big-time clove bomb. If you LOVE cloves in perfume, then you might be able to wear this, but for me, it’s a very uncomfortable experience. The moment I donned this industrial strength clove extract, one word came out of my mouth: cloves.
There is quite a bit of black tea and leather in this perfume as well, but they are totally soaked in clove. To my nose, the alleged rose in this composition is MIA. I will not even be finished my 1ml sample vial of this creation. However, I do not want to deter others from trying KEPT, because I am very sensitive to clove, and it also happens to be one of my least favorite perfume notes, right down there with cumin, sweaty musk, and synthetic peony.
The good news for clove lovers is that this perfume is very strong, with big sillage and excellent longevity–most likely because clove oil is present in high concentration! On the clove front, KEPT truly puts Serge Lutens SERGE NOIRE to shame. The intense pitch (reminiscent also of the house of Lush) induced in me a headache.

I also expected to love this from the listed notes, but first on, it smelled like dying sweet roses and sweet tart candy over powdery leather. It was nasty, but it got better as it dried, losing that sickly, rotten rose scent. I ended up with Sweet Tart candy and old style rose perfume instead. Still, an odd combination and nothing I want to smell like.

From the notes, I really expected to like this. Upon my first whiff, though, there was something that hit my nose in the wrong way. I believe it is the combination of clove and leather as I have a tentative relationship with both. Upon application that accord announced itself quite clearly and remained through the drydown. I did get a tiny bit of the rose but it drowned under the other notes fairly quickly.
Overall the sillage is really good (on my skin). This strikes me as a spicy and potentially masculine scent. Am curious to hear what others think.
