I think I built this up too much in my head based on reviews I’d read. I got Kalemat Amber yesterday and was underwhelmed. Too me it’s a pretty generic sweet-spicy scent. Unlike other Arabian Oud mukhallats I own this one is very soft in projection and longevity is even less. I’m glad I got a great deal on this. Would have been pretty disappointed if this had burned a hole in my pocket. I’m hoping Kalemat Floral ends up being more inspiring.

Beautiful – I love it and it’s one of my Arabic perfumes that my wife also likes. Unusual, distinctive, like a rounded Kalemat with sweet notes, and fantastic packaging for the oil. Very present scent – ‘I am wearing this perfume’, but in a good way.

I acquired this scent from the London Oxford Street Arabian oud store. It is a very sweet scent but with a medicinal touch. It definitely has a strong honey scent and a touch of heavy rose scent. The sillage is weak on me and logetivity is about 8 hours and more on clothes. To illustrate how sweet it is, my mother wore it in countryside UK and got followed by a bee!
The dry down on clothes is quite a contrast to its sweet top notes, it smells a bit bitter and masculine (not in a bad way). I’m not so sure i would classify this as a unisex scent given how sweet it is.

This stuff is amazing. Rivers of golden, honeyed amber. And the packaging, as always with Arabian Oud, is deluxe. For the mouthwatering, comprehensive review that this powerhouse deserves check out the Kafkaesque blog. The Kalemat Floral is also first class.
