Description

“Jimmy Choo opens a new chapter with Jimmy Choo Man Blue, expressing a contemporary facet to match today’s lifestyles. The barriers between work wear and street wear have been erased; anything goes for the confident yet casual man of today.

His dark blue suit is casual yet elegant over a simple t-shirt, his crisp white sneakers the perfect accessory wherever he goes. Effortless in every way, he exudes a relaxed confidence and a magnetic attraction that is evident in the fragrance he wears, aromatically fresh on the surface yet resolutely masculine, with hidden earthy depths.

This dynamic new scent in Jimmy Choo’s masculine fragrance franchise is a play on contrasts like the multi-facetted Jimmy Choo man himself, an instinctive woody aromatic leathery scent. As the Jimmy Choo Man leaves home, he jumps on his skateboard and speeds along the pavement, the breeze tousling his hair, the sound of rock music resonating in his ears. His is a contemporary sensuality in line with his busy lifestyle, he loves the good things in life and transcends codes – rules are made to be broken to live the life he dares.”

The woody aromatic leathery fragrance was designed for Jimmy Choo by Nathalie Lorson. “I composed this set of textures around three impacting elements: the aromatic and velvety texture of sage leaves, the grained and raw texture of leather and the smooth texture of sandalwood to create a masculine and modern addiction,” explains Nathalie Lorson.

Top Notes: Clary Sage Essence, Black Pepper, Bergamot
Heart Notes: Leather, Cypress Essence, Grey Amber
Base Notes: Sandalwood, Vanilla, Vetiver Essence

Shot on location against a sun drenched backdrop with punctuations of palm trees promenade, the advertising campaign for Jimmy Choo Man Blue features Marlon Teixeira, the face of the brand’s men’s fragrances, his hair effortlessly tousled as he skates along the pavement on his board. Sophisticated yet rugged, he is a man of
contrasts, a cool yet infinitely attractive urban nomad.

The fragrance is expecting on the market from the beggining of August 2018.

This perfume reminds me of Joop Jump. Modern & Sensual. Sillage is very good and also lasts for long on my skin. Perfect for fall in my opinion. Perfect for use when suited booted however may work on casual as well. Overall a 7.5/ 10 in my opinion.

Jimmy Choo Man Blue was launched in August 2018, giving continuity to the brand’s line of men’s fragrances after the launch of the traditional version in 2014, followed by the Intense (2016) and Ice (2017) versions.
The creative concept of the fragrance is related to the more youthful man who has lived abroad (or, at least, knows other cultures), who works in a startup and moves in big cities by bicycle, rollerblading or even skateboard. He is that newly graduated man, relaxed in style and full of self-confidence.
I was pleased to meet, with exclusivity, the launch (in São Paulo) and at the time I spoke of this relationship with the image worked on the campaign, of the “new executive” who is able to wear a tailored suit and put on a pair of white sneakers, creating a look that is not classic. And the fragrance of Jimmy Choo Man Blue combines a lot with this concept, which is already a positive point because it delivers what it promises in advertising!
Regarding technical matters, the fragrance was created by Natalie Lorson, a professional who has worked with brands such as Dior, Armani, Lalique, Lancôme, YSL, among others. To build Jimmy Choo Man Blue, she mixed notes of clary sage, bergamot, and black pepper, in the head, with gray amber, leather accord and cypress, in the body of the fragrance, on a base of sandalwood, vetiver and vanilla.
Normally, the masculine fragrances of the brand are not considered innovative, nor, powerful. And this time, it was no different. However, I like to have my expectations met in relation to what I expect and what I feel as a result. And Jimmy Choo Man Blue has an easy to please style, uniting two olfactory families that men love: aromatic and woody. This type of fragrance can make the transition between moments and approaches: it starts lighter and ends denser; at first, shows a stripped side and, over time, a serious facet of its wearer. It’s all about the intended audience.
On the skin, the fragrance starts with greener and citrus tones. The bergamot is really present, but it lasts a short time. In a matter of minutes, a more elegant side begins to appear, as if a piece of suede had been thrown over what was there, muffling the aromatic content and making room for what is to come. You can notice some nuances of the cypress (between citrus and camphoraceous), but the sweet and soft side of the amber wins the battle. Then, a sweeter base appears, able to make you remind of tonka beans. It’s the sandalwood, creamy, flirting with the vanilla.
In my opinion, Jimmy Choo Man Blue offers no competition for Sauvage or Bleu. But resembles, after a while, to the good and old Armani Code, only lighter. It does not have good projection but lasts more than six hours on my skin. It would be a very wise choice early in my professional career, about 20 years ago, and I think it’s a great choice for anyone who is going through that moment now.
To finish, the bottle kept the same visual pattern, but the blue finishing gave a touch of sophistication and beauty that draw attention from any angle.

Personally I think this scent smells really good on a card and when first applied. After a bit the vanilla comes out and that doesn’t work with my chemistry. The dry down is very powdery.
I have been pleasantly surprised how long it lasted. Pretty much about 8 hours, very noticable for the first 5-6 hours. I just wish I enjoyed vanilla and powder.
This does not work for me, but I think it has great potential and would recommend anyone trying it.

Just another boring designer release. Follow the formula of mass produced, mass appealing frags, and count the money roll in. The designer game has been very disappointing lately. Now that I’m into the niche and indie brands it takes more to impress me enough for a sell. I sprayed 4 sprays on a card at Macy’s and literally 1 hour later it was a faint hint of smell.

No joke I just spit out my water at the previous review, this has as much in common with Z & V ‘this is him’ as an Elephant has in common with an Antelope

    not for me

Jimmy Choo Man Blue is in between the original Jimmy Choo Man and Jimmy Choo Man Intense. The scent suits well with the Navy Blue tone bottle. It is deeper and more sophisticated than the original, meanwhile also lighter, less spicy, more “aquatic”, and more wearable than the Intense.
Jimmy Choo Man collection is not about the “citrus” note. The line is about “freshly sweet” and “lightly spicy”. If you are looking for something “green-y fresh”, maybe try different brands then. If I had to choose just one from the line, I would pick Man Blue and disregard the original and the Intense. Overall, it is a nice, pleasant, manly and decent men’s fragrance to my nose, works on any occasion, dress up or dress down.

    Been testing jimmy choo man
blue now a couple times, and
although i do get a lot of
    similarities with other new
    releases, this one just leaves
a very nice sweet woodsy scent
trail that i just cant stop
sniffing, it’s a must buy for me,
try it out and don’t judge it before
you have tried it a couple times.

Got a 100ml after testing it. It opens up pretty sweet but as it dries down out comes the ambery woody base. Projects very well from my skin and lasted me for 12 hours plus.

With the “blue” name, this was much sweeter than I anticipated. At first, I didn’t get the Stronger With You comparison, but as it transitioned to the mid/basenotes I can definitely see it. Projection/longevity seem strong from my test strip. Overall, a like for me.

Tried this in Paris a week ago but didn’t realize it hadn’t been released in the States yet. Don’t remember specifics but I had a very good first impression with this one.

When you have a bottle in your hands and you cannot vote 🙂
Very peppery opening with a strong ambery woody base and a hint of fougere notes at the heart.
Not bad, but not really fresh.

A sweet chemical mess. Despite the “blue” in the name it doesn’t smell fresh. It’s sweet, ambery, similar to Armani Stronger with you or with Azzaro Wanted.

This has already been released in the UK and its probably my favourite of the line so far. With “blue” in the title people will be expecting aquatic notes and maybe similar to other “blue” fragrances but its actually a bit different with leather included plus it lasts a good 6-7 hours on me.Definetely worth a try!
