Description

Jil Sander launched a chypre floral, feminine fragrance Eve, which is presented to the market in September 2011. Eve is clean and sensual scent that subtly blends with aromas of feminine skin, enhancing its beauty and tenderness. The fragrance is woven from delicate fruits and flowers, along with pronounced veil of chypre that gives a sophisticated shade to the fragrance.

Perfumer of the Eve fragrance is Olivier Polge, who combines sparkling grapefruit and blackcurrant buds in the top notes, pointing out to the seductress Eve. The heart offers perfect harmony of wild rose, Arabian jasmine and violet, laid on the basis of cashmere accords and cadence of Indonesian patchouli.

The bottle is simple, transparent and very elegant. It is designed in accordance with the philosophy of Jil Sander and curved to highlight gentle, feminine side of the issue. The bottle is designed by Suzanne Dalton. The fragrance is available as a 30, 50 and 75ml EDT, accompanied by a range of body care products – 200ml Shower Gel, 200ml summer lotion, and 100ml deodorant spray.

The face for Jil Sander Eve is young German actress Karoline Herfurth.

Eve is almost, almost perfect. She is floral and fruity and the dry down is a really lovely combination. I love every one of her notes except that somehow, Eve is just that little bit too sweet (mind you, a little spritz on my pillow makes me feel like a princess). The strongest notes I’d say are the cashmere wood, patchouli and wild rose.
If somehow, Eve was a little less sickeningly sweet, this would certainly be my signature. I am, however, excited to try Evergreen and Everose.

Blind buy – notes seemed interesting, price was reasonable, so I caved.
It is a nice scent, and nothing more. It doesn’t live to its promise.
Eve is fun and sparkly, there’s a lot of bubbles that go flat in no time. I don’t smell anything woody and almost no patchouli. I tried but couldn’t really like it on me, too…meh, too one dimensional. It ended up being a room scent.
Staying power is weak, sillage non-existent.

Sadly, Eve is not nearly as exciting as Style, Jil or honestly all the other perfumes of this brand. It also really lacks the Jil Sander vanilla/heliotrope signature style.
I got this as a gift one day from a Jil Sander-obsessed friend (she wears the other more interesting perfumes a lot).
And it is a good gift, as it is “traditional German femininity: proper, clean and conventional”, as one reviewer before me fittingly describes it.
I lack any of these qualities as a person, but even then it’s a “safe” gift.
Yes, Eve smells like Coco Mademoiselle EDT. A fruitier, juicier version of it. I associate this juicy smell to apples, but it could also be generic “red berries” so popular in contemporary mainstream perfume.
But there are better dupes for Coco Mademoiselle, in my opinion (mainly the LIDL one, Suddenly Madame Glamour, for around 5 Euros).
Longevity and sillage rather weak, can be overapplied so it’s noticeable. Even then, it dramatically weakens after an hour or so. Applied on my hair I catch whiffs of it throughout the day.
It makes Eve a great office or daytime perfume as it can’t offend anyone.

It smells like traditional german femininity: proper, clean and conventional. It is also rosy and comfy. It is a nice perfume, i can not think of anyone who would dislike it, but it lacks a je ne sais pas quois, something to make it more attractive ( not only on the sexy side of things, but in general) and memorable.
This fragrance is just way too safe for me.

Initially I wasn’t overwhelmed, I do like it, but it wasn’t anything unique. After an hour I much prefer the drydown, it settles nicely, becomes smooth and soft, I get very strong patchouli from this, with a slight touch of floral similar to a Chanel perfume, as others have said.
It is very adult, without being ‘old ladyish’ the polar opposite of something like Pink Sugar.
This also has a classic smell of ‘department store perfume section’ which is pleasing in itself.
This is an occasional wear for me, maybe for winter cloudy days, where I feel serious and contemplative.

Wow!On my skin this has nothing to do with Coco Mademosielle. Does not even resembles it. To me it smells almost identical to Scent 79 and I love them both. Nice powdery scent, not harsh and I can smell it after 6-8 hours. Very long lasting. Not fruity, not woody, but a very soft lingering sweet powdery scent. Beautiful.

After trying on a sample of Eve on my skin, I figured that this might be an alternative to buying Chanel Chance Eau Tendre that I also liked a lot, but was kind of weak.
Eve gives that tender and intimate feeling, too. It gives this sense of fragile and delicate, intimate feeling of feminity, kind of like sweet loving and caring emotions. The cashmere in Eve is sweet, a bit resembling the quince in Eau Tendre, I think, but it’s stronger and stays well. Yet, not too strong cashmere. I tend to get very tired of too strong cashmere, and Eve doesn’t have too much in my opinion.
The quince in Chance Eau Tendre, on the other hand, is fresher, but so fine and almost too weak. Both have jasmine, which I love. Eve has graperuitblossom instead of grapefruit in Chance Eau Tendre. And then there is patchouli in Eve, too, which is sensual and quite special, in my opinion, if not too strong. In Eve it seems to work really well.
Overall, Eve is a soft, smooth, nice, delicate fragrance that celebrates womanhood. So contrary to those unisex scents. Eve is furthermore a lot less shy than Chanel Chance Eau Tendre. And warmer. Warm and loving. A super scent for Eve enjoying time together with her Adam in the garden of Eden 😉
I imagine Eve works well all year, but perhaps best during fall and winter when scents with warmth and cashmere are even more welcome. Patchouli is also better in the cooler temperatures on me. Eve has enough flower goodness in it, too, which I really love to enjoy all year round and I wouldn’t want to miss out on flowers during fall and winter neither. I’m not so fond of any too overwhelming, sharp or heavy scents, but I do have an appetite for nice lighter scents in many variations. Eve would certainly be a great scent to wear whenever wanting to feel extra feminine and fragile in a warm loving way, saying: “Adam, you’re so strong, take care of me! And I have the love that you so want and need, too!” I will not go so far as to call it sexy, but it is beautifully intimate. The name suits it well.

I will put it that way, if you are looking for a quiet, nice but not very exciting scent, Eve will work..I have yet to smell a Jil Sander scent that I find real interesting, but they are easy to wear , office friendly, school, but to my nose they lack something, they are a bit flat..and yes ordinary.

I don’t get the resemblance to coco mademoiselle edt at all. Eve is much fruitier, sparkling, even a bit chemically sweet. There isn’t much patchouli in it, at least thats my opinion. I find Coco M edt smells more masculine than Eve. Eve is a nice fragrance, but nothing special. I think it is more of a summer/ spring fragrance then a fall/ winter one. It has a girly, flirty, bubbly and jumpy feel to it. For young girls, who like to be bad.
If your looking in to more Jil Sander scents, give Style a try. That truly is a gorgeous fragrance!!

On my skin it is like powder, very dry, almost chemical. Barely can smell any flowers. Can’t compare it in any way with Everose, which was a lot sweeter and developed greatly on me.

    I am not impressed!
Very generic, no character at all, and the staying power is bad!

A short lived berry-rose frag which gets better in the drydown..
    I applied 6 heavy sprays
0-10 Mins – 10 inch projection. This is an initally strong frag, which is common place but nonetheless good. The berry stands out and its very feminine. Ages 37 – 47
10 mins -1 hour – 6 inch projection. The dominant berry of before goes and this becomes a mild berry-floral gourmand. IMHO this frag is quite cheap and not well done – I get a very artificial ending to sniffing this on my skin, which is sickening and not nice.
1 hours – 3 hours – 3 inch projection. I can smell some connection with Coco Mademoiselle – I think its the wild rose which does this. The colour of the juice also reminds me of Coco M.
3 hours – 5 hours- Close to skin. A much paler version now of before and the drydown is nice; it’s more fresh, light floral and moorish and casual and quite a “chilled on the skin” affect. The artficial side has gone.
This is quite expensive and not great quality IMHO in the middle, so not for me.

    This one is way unexpected…
I had asked for this from my European Santa Claus. I got a little set that included a small thing of body lotion.
When spraying it first I was sooo underwhelmed, it’s not even funny. You know, when you wait half a year for your Santa fume… and it underwhelms… sniff.
Very clean, but well behaved patchouli. It’s not the patchouli that annoys the living daylights out of me the way Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle annoys me. I could see where some get a rose out of it and if I ‘think rose’ I could smell rose – but I somehow don’t. It’s like the far more mellow distant relative of Coco M.
So I just went about my day (I had given myself a fairly good dousing, ahem), but sorta forgot about it.
Until, hours later, when my hubbie’s nose somehow seemed to have been permanently attached to me.
Hubby is lovely and always willing to give me the verdict. However – when he voluntarily gives me his verdict- then it’s rare.
Something in the drydown is grown and content. I was not impressed by the first 10 minutes, there’s a tad of sugar, too.
It’s actually quite amazing but this one blended amazingly well with my chemistry.
Sillage isn’t scaring people off, but longevity is pure endurance. Will last forever on a scarf – in a good way.
Glad I didn’t give up on it.
This could be a good replacement for those who like the principle of Coco Mademoiselle, but can’t stand her screaming all day, or just want something that doesn’t make strangers prove their knowledge of Chanel.

Waaaay too rosey, and I love rose scents but this one does not project rose so well.. It’s like an artificial strong rose.. But then again maybe it’s just me. Rose lovers maybe you should give it a try and see for yourselves!

My relationships with this perfume are rather complicated. When I’m wearing it people around me are really delighted and shower me with compliments. As for me, I’ve never been pleased with this perfume up to this level. Sometimes I’m ready to agree that “Eve” is a miracle and is worthy of admiration. But in some circumstances I can’t avoid the impression that smell of camphor is overhere. Still, I use this perfume and try to fall in love with it as deep as those who sowers me with the compliments. In my opinion, the best season for “Eve” is spring or mild winter.

I thought this would be another boring floral, but Eve surpised me by almost being a little bit warm oriental. It opens sweet, but the drydown is just amazingly warm and cozy. Very nice one.

I got this perfume last christmas and after a few month of testing I still have to say that I love this!
Actually, at first sniff I thought that fragrance is not for me, too fruity in the opening which I don’t like. But the base notes are the most beautiful thing I smelled in a long time, they work like a charm with my body chemistry and I have to smell myself all the time when I wear this.
It’s not a sillage monster, but it’s almost all day noticable for myself. I got a lot of compliments whenever I had to hug someone 🙂
I think this is probably my signature scent. You can wear it everywhere & anytime. Maybe not in the hottest summer weather, but it’s an all year around scent.
And I say it again: don’t let the top notes fool you! Eve is a lovely & sophisticated perfume even though the fruity opening promises otherwise!

That’s what I expected Clinique Happy Heart (red) to be, having read about its optimistic mandarine trail. Eve is very well, I’d say, happily-balanced. Not in your face (that’s why comparison to Coco Mademoiselle is totally missed out for me)but kind of intimately shimmering beauty. I don’t mean it’s too quiet or fragile like, let’s say, Jil, but also it does not seem like the one to shake the ground with. Oh, yes, it is stylishly appealing like Si Lolita, yet with most welcome mandarine filling. No bright individuality coming out of the blue but successfully played up and supported charm of yours. I wouldn’t mind having Eve’s mini and body care, as I know that once in a while a scent like this is being happily claimed. And the actress on the poster happens to look a bit like me (her image for the scent only). D

So gorgeous and beautiful! I can’t really call it chypre – Eve is a fruity scent, but fruity in a mature way. The fragrance presents sparkling fruity notes (I feel mostly exotic fruits like pineapple etc.) on a staggering woody patchouli base. Eve is sweet, though not excessively. Delicate and powdery in the dry down the perfume has an extremely good longevity (really good!) and optimal sillage. This is the kind of fragrances that are usually named delicious or tasty and that men adore.

I got this as a present from my husband, who is apparently very aware of my autumn-induced fondness for patchouli.
I like it. True, it’s nothing new or very exciting, but it’s warm and comfortable – perfect for cold days and for the office.
It might not become a classic, but I’ll definitely have a blast with Eve this autumn & winter.
LE: Having worn it for several days at the office, I got tired with the really heavy base notes. I had to move on to something closer to the skin, much to the displeasure of the Mister

At first this seemed to be nothing really new, even a bit cheap and artificial. It’s because of the heavy and sweet fruit-notes, reminding me of fruit drops. But after a few minutes it grows on you and becomes warm and cosy when the woody and spicy notes set in and blend with the fruit. I can hardly smell anything flowery, but the cashmere wood and patchouly seem to last on my skin forever. A nice feel-well scent for everyday use, especially now as we are having a nice Indian summer. I bought it the same afternoon that I tried it first and am using it a lot.

Jil Sander has done it again – love at first smell. This would be a very fresh scent, if it wasn’t for the cashmere wood being ever-present. I really think the wood gives this perfume a warm quality.

I did not like at first, cause it smelled so ordinary. When it dries down it has something. Soft and woody with a hint of flowers, which is nice on the skin. Just felt comfortable. Gonna buy it tomorrow!

I have smellt this one yesterday and I love it.
Its start very fresh with grapefruit and the cassis leaves. Then it turns a bit woody I think the patchouli and cashmere sets in.The flowers are very soft but noticable. A wift of rose and violet but they stay in the background on my skin. The drydown is lovely. Patchouli, woody and soft flowery.
The dry down reminds me a bit of Liberte or Coco Mademoiselle
