Description
Dior launched the J`Adore L`Or Essence de Parfum edition made of rose and jasmine from Grasse absolutes in 2010. In Fall 2017, J`Adore L`Or edition is reborn, available in a new bottle with the updated design featuring a carved necklace created by a unique engraving technique.
“J’adore L’Or is the fragrance of every extreme. Its floral Absolutes are rare, its concentration intense. Its oriental character is present, immediately recognizable in a rich bouquet of nuances; in its voluptuousness and its expressiveness. Its sensuality is perceptible, a painting entirely devoted to the beauty of flowers.” – François Demachy, Dior Perfumer-Creator.
Dior J’Adore L’Or is available as a 40 ml Essence de Parfum.
The nose behind this fragrance is Francois Demachy.

Most feminine perfume ever. Top

This is an exquisite fragrance. It is one of my favorites . Whenever I spray it I feel more feminine and confident. I don’t reach for this often as it reserved for special occasions. It blends well on my skin as I can’t make out individual notes . Definitely comes off as a florally gourmand to me. It lasts the entire day. If you’re thinking about getting it, get it.

Love love, love! It’s sensuous, warm, and delicious. Made me feel sexy and bold. From opening to drydown, just absolute perfection. The vanilla isn’t stuck in the back of your throat like some synthetic-smelling ones can be. The florals of ylang-ylang, jasmine, and tuberose work beautifully with the vanilla to give that atmosphere of being in a tropical garden with its florals in full bloom. For me, the rose doesn’t have quite an impact, and feels like it’s a secret waiting to be revealed, leaving hints of its presence along the way. Which I actually like, since I already have J’adore Absolue to fill in my need for roses.
Longevity and sillage? This is a powerhouse. Definitely worthy of being called J’adore L’Or. I adore this and would absolutely give it a full 10/10 if it weren’t for one thing.
It gives me a headache.
I just about cried when I realised three days into testing it from my sample that J’adore L’Or was the culprit behind my only experience with a fragrance-induced headache.
I tried only spraying at my wrists, and that didn’t work. Even smelling it on paper would trigger a headache, as happened recently during a visit to the Dior counter.
I’ve yet to find something else quite like it so I’ll spring for a bottle as part of my collection, but I’d definitely chance another headache just to get a whiff of this golden beauty.

Very strong ylang ylang and vanilla. Smells like banana and vanilla ice cream on a bed of jasmine and roasted tonka bean, which gives it depth and elegance.
It has evening, summery vibe to me and I’m thinking it might replace my two discontinued loves: Baiser Vole Essence and Lys Soleia. It doesen’t smell similar but it’s in the same family of exotic vanilla florals. Love it!!

This is a special one in my collection. Deep and sensuous, & evolving. Not a big fan of the other J’adores, but this one …oooohh. Splurged on this one & glad I did, I would think this would make a perfect gift for a fragrance lover, not just because of the lovely smell but it is packaged so beautifully. Very nice longevity, a good spritz will do just fine & last all day.

What a beautiful fresh, warm pretty delicate (but strong perfume), you know sometimes you bump into the most beautiful perfumes when you’re least expecting.
It was a random test! ,and wow!
I sprayed this and then left the shop, its such a georgous bellowing feminine and delicate (and powerful in the most subtle way)
Sexy and powerful! if you love white floral and then the tonka bean adds warmth but somehow has this powerful but subtle perfume.
You’ll feel it around you throughout the day! 10/10 beautiful

To my nose, I smell more of Ylang Ylang, Vanilla, Rose and Tonka Bean, very rich, but smooth, creamy, warm, and feminine in a classy, sophisticated way. It is intense but not loud nor bold. I love the fact that it is not right-in-the-face like many strong fragrances. It is “hidden” but it is there for me to catch a whiff here and there technically…all day long. It lasts SO well and develops beautifully. It is definitely how expensive perfumes should be!

L’or 2017 is a beautiful flanker to the original J’adore. 2 totally different parfums to my nose. This one is not as sweet as the original and I find this one a bit more mature. A lovely spring/summer-scent.

Wow This Is Beautiful!
I’ve just got J’adore L’Or. A very expensive blind buy. Luckily with a big discount. And thankfully with a happy ending. It’s the poshest boxed bottle of perfume that I’ve ever bought.
I don’t normally like perfumes with a lot of rose in them. Hence the name Jinxrose. Because where rose in perfume is concerned, I’m usually jinxed into not liking it. I even have some perfumes where I do like the rose but there is some other note to put me off. So, I’m really hoping that J’adore L’Or could be the first rose perfume that I can fully fall in love with.
I can smell the rose and the jasmine. Although I don’t smell the vanilla yet. I can sense it is there in the background, keeping the perfume warm and well rounded.
And… OMG This Stuff Is Strong!
At least I’m going to get my money’s worth.
Love It!

Surely intense than J’adore L’Absolute, but not much different, just add up tonka and vanilla, but it’s still J’adore. Ylang-ylang, vanilla and tonka bean are all around, longevity is amazing, sillage also very good,

Just a heads-up: This smells slightly different from the previous version, which is more powdery with a “classic 90’s” vibe. Also, I thought its bottle design was improved until closer examination—the “neck” of the older bottle looks more intricate while this one seems to come from a somewhat roughly-made mold.
Although it successfully executes something “golden” (where many niche brands failed), it’s too tame for me; I was hoping it’d be richer like a spray form of Touche de Parfum or even Extrait..

My mother loves the classic J’adore, it is the one perfume she would always wear. A perfume well suited for the tropical heat of the Philippines, when I smell J’adore I think of my mother.
Now that Im living in London, there are a lot of times that I miss her company…..and recently I was drawn to get my own J’adore. Perhaps, unconsciously wanting to have my mother close even if it was her scent….and so I ‘met’ L’or.
This is a rich and deep Floriental. Two sprays and the fragrance completely envelopes me with memories of home- of talking with mama in her garden of Jasmine. The vanilla and tonka holds and balances the jasmine and ylang-ylang, making this perfume exquisite. For me this is very romantic scent and for cold winter nights.
Im glad to have this gorgeous gem…..it certainly brings me back home.
Update:
I was about to do laundry and I detected a gorgeous scent in between the pile of clothes. I then noticed a shirt which I wore while using L’or, some of the perfume oil ended up in the neckline and it still smelled divine after being in the washing basket for a week. This perfume is simply amazing!

Deeply oriental scent, lots of tonka and vanilla. Not my cup of tea.
FAIMIPLAITA – :
It’s not much different than the original. In fact, if you smell them, you might not be able to tell the difference. Sure, if you concentrate enough, you will tell them apart and find the characteristics of L’or.
Upon initial spray it’s the same, and when I say same, I mean same, as the Original. After some minutes, it becomes intensely rosey, very very floral, the Original is a perfect balance between sugared champaca+jasmines+orchid with pears and plums, but L’or leans heavily to the floral side without of course losing completely the fruity nuances, otherwise it’s not J’adore I guess.
Luminous and clean as always, classic, all time appropriate, full bodied scent, that in its afterdrydown gives you sexy tuberosey vibes, green, a bit mentholic, plummy. And the vanilla without being the mainplayer adds an ever so slightly sweet touch. Richer in essences than the Original; at least that’s what I smell.
Lasts long projects well. If you like the Original, give this a try.

Mademoiselle-c It is a slight reformulation of the 2010 version. The amber, patchouli and labdanum have been replaced with tuberose and ylang-ylang. I tried the 2010 version a couple of years ago and bought the current version recently and if memory serves me right, they are very similar. This new version is lovely; rich, opulent and golden with a classic vibe. Great projection and longevity on me. You can tell it is very well made.
alex27110 – :
Does anyone know if this is a relaunch of the 2010? A reformilation? A repackaging? I really hope they didn’t mess with the original L’Or!
