Description

In honour of fragrance Iris Gris from 1946, Jacques Fath is launching a new, luxurious fragrance Irissime, a more contemporary and feminine version which arrives in a gorgeous flacon made of transparent crystal decorated with logo of the brand.

Top notes of Irissime will tingle your imagination with fresh notes of bergamot and pink pepper combined with wisteria flowers. Iris dominates a heart together with rose and jasmine, which contributes to elegance of the composition. A base encompasses accords of cedar, musk and ambergris. The perfume arrives as 100ml EDP. Jacques Fath Irissime was launched in 2009. The nose behind this fragrance is Marie Salamagne.

Yuk. I blind bought this and am so bummed. I will swap or sell. This smells like fruit fruit and more fruit. Not sure where the iris is. This goes on for me with a blast of alcohol then a fruity floral. I hate fruit in perfume with flowers. Ugh. Fruit is not listed in the notes but this is sickening sweet and fruity. The iris finally shows itself in the base as the fragrance gets a bit more powdery in the drydown.

Lovely! This was a blind buy for me and I was so excited at it’s arrival…so lovely packaging and the bottle just fits in my boudoir. First initial spray is quite sharp but quickly transitions into a lovely rice powder type of iris. I don’t normally like scents with a rice power vibe, they usually smell like dirty feet to my nose, but this is just lovely…
A really lovely cool twilight colored body dusting powder scent that evokes the upclose and personal velvety twilight purple iris petal…cool, calm comforting. When I wear it I am surrounded by lovely feathery powder puffs. Very personal scent…one I love to wear to calm stress with a cup of tea and cuddle up to a good book…

Viotet sweets. Not a sexy smell,. I like the slightly peppery smoky aspect but the sweetness is stronger. Not that it is heavy at all, it’s almost shy. If it was a colour it would be pale pink or mauve.

My mother-in-law smelled this last week, and immediately fell in love- Why? “It smells like a baby”!

I went through three stages with Irissime, before I could state I love it. At first it reminded me too much of Bvlgari BVL by the clear and strong accord of wisteria, then bergamot was really bothering me, too fizzy and loud and behind its fruitiness I couldn’t reach that mysterious Iris I was after. I didn’t give up and at last was rewarded. It fact it happened today. I automatically chose the perfume (with no realization it was Irissime whatsoever), went to shop and while I was walking up and down, I kept smelling something incredibly classy and unusual…Not similar with anything I smelled before..Mostly it was ambergris and iris..I was driving home biting lip as I didn’t remember what did I spray (yes, it happens when u have bottles all over the place). Then it hit me – Irissime! It DOES need some air, take it out for a walk, let it dance with the wind. Now I see this silver shiny mystery as a whole piece. Great bottle by the way, keep reminding me of UFO. But actually it shaped as a diamond, as Jacques Fath loved diamonds. Discontinued already.
Irissime was created by Marie Salamagne of Firmenich. It is a homage paid to a mythical perfume, Iris Gris, rather than a faithful historical reconstitution of it.

As a premise I must tell I love iris as a flower and its smell in perfumes.
I also must tell that I find that not always the iris note is well accomplished in the scents featuring it.
Irissime is a very lovely scent and its iris note is a merry one; sometimes iris makes a scent either melancholic or you may find it hidden among sparkling citrus thus totally hiding it.
Irissime beautifully balances the iris note among powdery, woody, and other flowers creating a nice balance conveying a merry impression.
Sometimes you caught hues of Chanel N°19, some others hues of Capucci Yendi and so you might find yourself wondering “Where have I smelled this before?” but nonetheless it won’t disappoint you.
I love it more in winter than in spring, such a joyful scent, uplifting and radiant.
Not cheap, I admit, but sillage and lasting power are great so you won’t need to overdose it.
    Lovely scent, really lovely.

A blind buy. I love it. It’s not much like the Iris Gris (I have some of that holy grail of perfumes) but it is still terrific all the same. I wore it the other day and kept sniffing the air wondering what smelled so lovely, it was me! Well it was the perfume of course. Worth hunting it down. Delightful

Wisteria…I know nothing about your smell, but the beginning gives me no pink pepper nor bergamot. It´s flowery indeed and a bit soapy without sharpness. At this point Irissime is nice but not very memorable.
The iris, as a middle note,is lovely but on me not so very long lived. What a pitty!
It doesn´t take more than 30 min and Irissime has become a skin scent, it last quite a while but I really have to press my nose harder against my wrist as the day goes by.
As the iris fades and give place to the musk the loveliness disappears and Irissime becomes just nice again.
    To me not fb worthy.

What a wonderful scent. It reminds me of L Instant Magic,…so powdery and soft,… staying power is quite good in my opinion,…. The only problem are the first 10 minutes,…because the scent hits you first, then it calm down to a soft cloud of fluffy powder. It is sweet, but not in a generic way. L Instant Magic is the best way to explain,….but without the orange arome,…

I am glad I got a sample vial first – on me (or to me) it smells like a baby powder. Kind of like a cheaper version of Chanel #5.

Unfortunately, the musk in this is very medicinal and ruins the softness of this iris.
I am discovering that musk is a difficult note for me, many times it takes on a touch of “bug spray” or antiseptic, in this case.

Wow, this is iris? I think I like it!! I received a sample of this today and I must say that this is one of the most elegant fragrances that I’ve ever been exposed to. Everything about this is JUST RIGHT. The longevity is decent. The sillage is perfect. The drydown is delicate (not too musky) and this is a pure pleasure to my nose. I’m pretty sure I’d LOVE this on a woman.
I’d be foolish to declare this to be a unisex-in-hiding. But I do believe that the right man can pull this one off in the Autumn/Winter, maybe even the Spring. I AM the right man. 😉
