The Bes of Victoria Secrets
At No. 4
ISLAND
This fragrance felt like the Victoria Secret models went on all expenses paid vacation for their hard work on the runway to an exotic island in the Caribbean like Barbados or to Bermuda. They are having a great time and they are getting free drinks at every restaurant lol
This scent opens with a delicious edible carambola or star fruit which smells like nondescript fruit scents like kiwi, mango, or pineapple. It’s not easy to figure out what it is but it’s fruit-flavored and liquored up. It smells like a curacao or citrusy orange alcohol drink, very tropical. This whole perfume is tropical.
The scent of a little sweet white jasmine and just a hint of frangipani tiare is also included. The jasmine is very silky and smooth. The jasmine brings it back into the realm of VS sexiness and femininity.
Finally an amber.
This is not as big an amber as in RAPTURE which is the biggest amber in the VS lines, and it’s still less of an amber than in AMBER ROMANCE which is a good amber dry down but it’s a warm and spicy amber that keeps the fragrance smooth and provides it with a longer lifespan. The amber is also coming off as exotic and sunny, golden and very warm like a sun tan lotion.
Island is tropical, warm, sweet and pretty.
I wear this when I go out sailing and to the beach.
Love it!! My boyfriend Stephen also loves it on me.
Another winner for Victoria’s Secret!

Fragrance Review For Victoria’s Secret Island
Notes: Jasmine Carambola Star Fruit Amber
This is a very simple and sweet perfume. It’s got the poorest and most tragically short life of any VS fragrances but while it’s performing for you it’s rather enjoyable. This is a fruity tropical island fragrance of carambola which is a fantasy note in perfume. It’s this carambola which gives it that island moniker. It transports you to the Philippines, to Malaysia or Sri Lanka where this star fruit grows on trees. However it’s not the aroma of the fruit while still on the tree. It’s a fruit juice drink. Pure fruit juice but still very exotic and definitely an island scent. The jasmine floral note is matching up with the fruit juice and still evokes a far off island where Indian jasmine blooms along with aromatic trees and star fruit. The amber at the end gives it a clean finish and dry down, and a warmth. This is a summer fragrance, a beach fragrance. It’s lovely and very delicious and highly recommended. If you like fruity florals and exotic tropical scents, go for it. I love to smell this on me in the summer time. My 5 year old niece loves it on me. Recommended For: Casual Wear, Party. This is a party perfume. Enjoy!

Island by Victoria Secret. Very easy to wear, simple, sweet, fruity floral scent. I thought it would be like the tropical island scents I’ve enjoyed wearing. It is not too tropical however as it contains only that carambola star fruit note which is a fruity scent that’s similar to pear. It’s also a bit like apple and moreover apple scented shampoo. It’s delicious and sweet and great to put on after a shower (like so many other Victoria Secret frags). It’s an amber fragrance as well. The pairing with the jasmine is only slightly reminiscent of Alien by Thierry Mugler but thank God for the star fruit keeping it sweet and girly and not in the realm of unisex/masculine scent that is Alien. This is really very nice. It’s been discontinued or something because I can’t seem to find it anywhere. I have a bottle from about 5 months ago when I bought it on ebay. It’s a warm golden amber perfume with fruit. If you like fruit and amber scents this is a treat.

This fragrance has good sillage and longevity, decent for a body spray, and it comes in a huge bottle. The cons of the bottle is that it is extremely difficult to hold in one hand and spray easily because of the boxy shape.
I didn’t think I was going to purchase this, but I sprayed all 4 in the collection on scent cards at the store, and this one won me over initially. So I sprayed a little on myself. Then when I got home I was wondering what smelled so good…and I went back the next day! The scent itself initially reminded me of Escada Rockin’ Rio mixed with Calvin Klein Beauty. So there is definitely the pop of fruit, but with an underlying jasmine accord which is very nice. I can also smell a hint of coconut as well.
Definitely for Escada lovers…I don’t think I will ever go through 800ml or whatever so this may be eventually gifted over to my sister…
