This is a strange ozonic, salty smell….It is tropical in the most literal sense—It smells like sand, salt and fruit punch. The lasting power is poor—2-3 hours.
I don’t mind this scent but it is strange for sure. The bottle is gorgeous though!

Firstly: what a glorious, stunning fragrance. I like my celebrity scents ONLY when they’re well made and fit a certain mood and not just a genre or trend. This does it perfectly. Watermelon & orange or tangerine. Its clean, aquatic and fresh… but not in the usual way. I wouldn’t say its groundbreaking but there’s also not many scents out there like this either. Lasts roughly 2 hours which I’m not complaining about due to the price.
Secondly, speaking of price, why is this on sale on Amazon for almost $100 AUD? LOL!

I feel like a lot of people think that the Fantasy line is just cranked out like they’re coming off of an assembly line. I think a perfume like Island Fantasy shows that they do put in a lot of effort on the entire product. I normally don’t comment on names of fragrances but I will for this one. It fits it to a tee. I can practically imagine myself sitting on the beach and drinking a cool beverage. And speaking of cool beverage, this is what that perfume reminds me of to the point where I wish I could drink the perfume! I’m picking up the fruit smells the most.
And speaking of smell, I’m also having a different reaction than what others are mentioning on other reviews. This fragrance has a long lasting power for me. I’d highly advise trying the perfume if you can before buying it. You might be in the same boat with me and experience a long lasting time of being able to smell the perfume or you might not smell it after 15 minutes. The smell I’m smelling for this perfume ranks it among one of my favorites in the Britney line.
And we have another pretty Fantasy bottle for this fragrance. Perfect blend of the blue and green meeting each other on the bottle and fits in nicely with the island theme.

Island Fantasy doesn’t seem to have any base notes. It’s like a song that’s all treble, an olfactory ring tone. That’s why it absolutely has no depth or longevity.
Apart from its transience, Island Fantasy wins me over every time with its watermelon and citrus combination. Very VERY light, almost like a body spray.
First WATERMELON.
Then CITRUS.
Then NOTHING.
But I do like that brief watermelon part, so I usually end up layering this with a white floral. It’s really good paired with Fracas (gasp, I know, but it creates a sort of tropical Fracas).

I like this, it smells mostly clean, aquatic on me with a bit of little fruit. Not overly sweet at all. Great summertime scent or would be nice to wear to the gym, if you like gym fragrances. This is quite light. Not synthetic nor cloying. Nice and pleasant and a little refreshing. Unfortunately this one is not good on sillage, I don’t even get an hour out of this before this completely poofs. As a couple other reviewers have mentioned, this performs much like a body mist. But it can be found inexpensively and for someone like me, who prefers light scents for the heat and high humidity, I am okay to re-spritz if necessary, being this one is so inexpensive, I do not mind needing/wanting to re-spritz as the day goes on. There is a body mist version, so that might be nice to take on vacations and such, and just toss in the bag. I like it, even though it lacks lasting power.

Hear what…I really, honestly love this perfume. It is very well composed. Even though my mother more or less liked “Hidden Fantasy” on me I would rather this perfume.
Its gorgeous fruity and fun. I am cautious about Britney Spears line because I’ve always considered them more for younger women in their twenties and so forth. However, this one is worth a try and I do live on an island and identify with all of those yummy scents.

This smells exactly like summer to me. I can’t pinpoint exactly what makes it smell like that for me, but it is definitely recalling the hundred-degree summers I spent in Texas as a teen. I’m not often one for celebrity fragrances or floral-fruity scents, but I’m actually considering snagging a full bottle of Island Fantasy when it warms up this year to take me back to some of the best summers of my life.
As for the actual scent, it’s very sweet and fruity. I’m definitely getting the watermelon and sugar notes, as well as possibly some freesia? Reminds me a bit of LipSmackers-type flavored lip balm, and I don’t mind it at all.

This was recommended to me here on a thread about watermelon scents. I’m always leery to do a blind-buy, but I’m glad I took a chance on this one. It is just as described in other reviews, fresh citrus aquatic watermelons. (If you’re looking for pure watermelon try Escada Sorbetto Rosso.) This is the radio turned up, the sunroof open, care-free summer in a bottle.
You can’t tell from the picture, but when I look down on the bottle from above, it plays a trick on my eyes and the yellow gradient from the top curve of the bottle combines with the aqua blue on the bottom curve of the bottle and it makes the most beautiful emerald color, like Caribbean ocean water, especially when it’s sitting on my mirrored perfume tray. It is a beautiful design. And I like how it’s not opaque like the others, so that I can see how much is left.
This is incredibly easy to wear, even in the high humidity of the coastal south where I live. The sillage is soft, but that’s how I like my fragrances, especially in the heat. It’s the first from the Fantasy line that isn’t too sweet or too heavy for me. I’m happy to have it, no headaches!

Melons + Soap. That’s pretty much it. Maybe a splash of hairspray in there too. I wanted to like this flanker, but I think the fruit salad fragrance trend has played itself out. This was not particularly well done, it lacks depth and doesn’t develop past the scent of unripe green melons. Longevity sucked too, but since I didn’t want to smell like a watermelon all day maybe that’s a good thing. Save your $$ on this one, it’s nothing special. Her other flankers were far better executed than this one.

Very aquatic. Very fresh. Very different from all the other fantasies, even Maui Fantasy. In terms of the scent itself…it’s great. Amazing and refreshing for summer. Like a nice cool fruity drink for the skin. I tend to have fragrances last pretty long on me due to my very oily and warmer than normal skin. So I was hoping that the longevity complaints wouldn’t pertain as much to me….
That’s where this review takes it’s negative turn. Unfortunately…even I have the same exact problem. I spray this on…BAM! I love it! REFRESHING! I lie to you not guys…it lasts 30 minutes and not a trace. Devastating and disappointing as the scent itself is beautiful. Double disappointing since Britney’s scents tend to be very well made and of good concentration. I don’t think any of her scents lasts less than 4-5 hours on me. Not any of them, even her newer ones. Private show isn’t a beast mode fragrance either but I get about 4 hours out of that one.
Anyway…to sum it up…beautiful scent. But the 100ml perfume bottle that I got literally has worse performance than some body mists that I have.
To end on a positive note…if you’ve collected all of the fantasy bottles like I have…this bottle is absolutely beautiful to add to the display. Arguably the most beautiful bottle of all of them actually.
Overall…due to the longevity…even though I do “love” the scent itself…I voted for it above with a “like.”

This smells like having fruity cocktails on a summer afternoon – heavy on the watermelon and oranges in a really fun way. And really real spelling fruits – not those plastic smelling imitations in some fragrances.
I wasn’t expecting to like this as much as I do. I have read a few bad reviews and was waiting to launch into a vent about how it was a little too much, however, I was wrong. it is intoxicating in the best way.
The bottle, unlike the others from the Fantasy collection, is transparent and looks fresher which is a perfect representation of this fragrance.
Subtle sillage and lower longevity but for the price its not too bad at all.
I give this perfume a 7/10
Not an everyday fragrance but perfect for a nice day off or on an exotic holiday.

Britney Spears’ Island Fantasy is a superb rendition of the melon-aquatic-type of fragrance, at the top of the heap as a representative of it’s type. I received this in a swap from a wonderful member and just couldn’t be more pleased with it!
This fragrance is even lovelier than I imagined from reading the notes and reviews from others.
I believe the strongest fruit-note to me is the juicy and unique clementine and feel that, otherwise, they perfectly described the notes as shown above.
Scent 9/10 – Just gorgeous for those of us who enjoy this type of fragrance and, better than you’d imagine from seeing the price-tag, for sure.
Sillage (aka projection) – Moderate
Longevity – Not magnificent but at this price-point, reapplication isn’t an issue other than perhaps for convenience’s sake.
Oh yes, the bottle is to DIE for (beautiful).

It’s starts out smelling more like fresh squeezed oranges and citrus with a noticeable sugar smell. At first I was disappointed because I bought this expecting it to be a watermelon dominant but then after awhile it softens a bit and begins to smell like watermelon with sugar. Its not a jolly ranchers watermelon, it’s more of a realistic watermelon which evidently smells more like fresh cut grass than an actual fruit at times.
The lasting power is not great but it is bout average to most celebrity fragrances.

A beautiful bottle but with a very poor longevity including sillage. I cant hardly smell it after 10 minutes. I sprayed it on my clothes, and on fabrics the total performance is much better though. The most I get out of this scent is something leafy. It starts with citruses but fades very quickly to the greens. I am gonna try to spray this over a bodylotion to see if that might boost the performance. To be continued…

It’s my extremes perfume: for either winter or for the beach. It’s for the times when any Perfume would be too much. And a body spray would be too light and unreliable. This perfume has a perfect green note coming out of the watermelon. Not a fan of such a note in perfumes but here it’s the salvation.

Very light, not fresh at all, just light sweetness. For some reason, I cannot smell the watermelon, its more like pineapple, very light and sweet pineapple… the price is ok. I wanted a fruity smell that I can wear during summer time at the office. I spray it on in the morning before I leave to work, and when I arrive, there is nothing! I mean it! Nothing. I need 15 minutes to arrive at work. So…not a bad perfume, it is pretty but the longevity is 0.

Since I skip all celebrity pefumes,I thought I was a bit hard on this one, so I give it a try again, applying more generously. This time I could feel the scent and it is actually very nice. On me, it is fruity without citrus, mild floral and not too sweet. And I like it. But… 5 min after (and when I said 5 min, I mean 5 min), I have to dig my nose to the wrist to feel something : ( I really wished it would last a bit longer, which does not mean it wouldn’t on you.

Today I was reading reviews for circus fantasy to decide weather I really want it or not and suddenly I remembered my forgotten bottle of island fantasy and felt that I need a spirtz of it but since I knew a spray wouldn’t do much for my I doused myself in it.I had traces of a candied violet scent from last night(issey miyake pleats please edp,the purple one,If you wanna know)I can’t explain how gorgeous was this combination!much better than seprately using any of these two fumes.very refreshing,playful and kind of delicious
Now I can’t get much of that green cucembery vibe which I disliked.it’s all about orangey citruses,water melon now.I think I can like it more if I layer it with something enhancing it’s sweetness or very lights musky florals of it
I still believe it can pass as unisex(more leaning towards femininty though)
Sillage is good in first hour!better than lots of heavier fumes!at least I can easily smell whiffs of it

My first Britney perfume (although I know how a couple of them smell like). First of all, the bottle is really nice, one of the most beautiful in my collection. Nothing tacky or cheap about it. And the color….mmm makes me dream about a mojito by the seaside. The scent itself is relaxing, a bit herbal (or maybe it’s a orange/mandarin leaf note?) the citrus accord is definitely the most prominent one, and the watermelon note makes it very airy, ozonic. I really enjoy it but too bad that it lasts an hour or two on my skin, what a shame. It would’ve have been a ‘love’ for me, but unfortunately its poor sillage and projection are disappointing. I’d love an EDP of this. In conclusion, fantasy island is a breath of fresh air among all those sweet fruity/coconutty summer fragrances we all love (I’m talking about you , Escada :), bit it disappears way too soon to enjoy it properly

Normally a melon note in perfume irks me to the extent that it’s a dealbreaker but in this it works so well. I smell it and I think of a fruity drink made with white rum, complete with sugar rim. I don’t find it green enough to give a mojito impression though, which would be the classical tropical white rum drink. There is an ozonic quality to this, definitely, and it balances out the fruity sweetness and gives it a breezy character.

This is my all time favorite perfume. I have been wearing it every day. I have a weird problem where, I like the idea of wearing perfume, but every perfume makes me sick. Maybe I’m chemical sensitive or headache sensitive.
Previously I had been wearing a perfume that smelled like “Light Blue”, which didn’t make me sick, so I could at least wear it, but I didn’t love it either. But I do love this Britney Spears Island Fantasy.
I didn’t really smell watermelon. It just smelled like a softer, lighter, more blunted fruity sweet orange with some other fruit that I couldn’t put my finger on. And it has some white flowers in it, so it doesn’t smell like a popsicle or kid’s perfume. It smells like an actual adult perfume. And I didn’t smell any musk, which is nice, because I dislike musky perfumes. It has a light clean scent.

It’s name and it’s bottle match up with it’s scent.it’s totally a summery fragrance,something you can easily wear in hottest summer days and feel refreshed.all in all it’s a fruity/citrus scent with slightest touch of musky clean flowers.most dominant notes on my skin are a combination of orangey citruses,watermelon and a clean and sweet musk st the drydown.at first whiff I can smell lots of juicy,fresh citrus notes,specially very natural and realistic clementine and water melon with it’s watery and ozonic quality.I can’t pick up specific flower notes but there’s a hint of very light and clean florals here.I can’t also detect sugar but there’s a delicate touch of sweetness preventing citruses from becoming too sour.I can also smell something green here.not a herbal green,slightest hint of fruity green like melon or cucumber which I dislike

All I really smell is watermelon with this. It’s watery and has a watermelon candy smell. Like a jolly rancher candy or watermelon gum. I’m not a big fan of watermelon candy, so it’s not a favorite scent of mine, but I like fresh watermelon. It’s also a weaker scent compared to some other BS perfumes. I guess because it is an EDT.
I don’t really get the other notes. I guess it’s just not working with my chemistry much. I would use it in summer though. Doesn’t seem like a winter time fragrance. I bought the bottle new from Amazon a few years ago, but it arrived with the metal around the neck loose. I can turn it easily but nothing spills out. None of my other Fantasy bottles are like that. I like the colors of it. Very pretty bottle, somewhat disappointing scent.

This perfume is like one of those exotic drinks you get on summer vacation, fruity and slightly sugary. It may not be listed as a note, but I get the smell of beach water when I first put this on. Then about five minutes later, I smell watermelon, and as a huge fan of watermelon in fragrances, this is a gorgeous take on them. It become more citrusy as time goes on and I feel like I’m lying on the beach when I wear this. The only negative is that I do have to reapply after a few hours, it won’t last the whole day. (Most likely down to the fact this is EDT). This could be easily be anyone’s summer signature!

I smell pineapple and kiwifruit when I spray this. When it settles I can smell, citrus, watermelon and delicate floral. It’d be perfect for the summer holidays. I would wear this to the beach or during summer road trips. I prefer midnight fantasy over this, however, for daytime this would be what I would reach for. I think citrus scents in summer are appropriate as they are vibrant, refreshing and energizing. On a hot day I don’t feel like a super sweet smell as it lingers and can be quite nauseating in the heat. This isn’t as sweet as some of the other Britney Spears fragrances, which I think is a good thing. I am interested in trying the cute white bottled perfume fantasy intimate.The advertising does make it seem more grown up than some of the older fantasy perfumes.

I do not like island fantasy, it is my least favorite from the britney spears collection and fantasy line. My sister LOVES this. I have half a bottle left that I do not wear, the bottle is super pretty! I love the grean and blue combo. It’s very faint and weak and does not last long at all. It’s meh fragrance it doesn’t smell bad, it’s just not a show stopper. OMG, I layered this with Radiance and the result is just incredibly gorgeous!!! Radiance is a bit too floral for me but I smell melon in it instead of red berries, so I thought they can work together and yes! They are more than awesome!

I really enjoy this scent as it so refreshing, and extremely light and pleasant. I get watermelon first and foremost. The problem is the longevity and the incredibly weak strength of it, as I literally have to douse my entire tops with it in order for there to be any trace of the scent. This fragrance does not last a long time, but while it does, it is SO GOOD! I didn’t know what to expect at all before smelling this. I typically blind-buy celeb fragrances, but this one had a tester at an Elizabeth Arden store at the mall, so of course I had to try it. I loved it immediately! My 3.4 oz bottle is halfway gone already and only had it for about a month. It is citrusy, but not really sour-sweet citrus. I really wish this lasted longer. I find that wearing a citrus-scented lotion, or just almond oil, will help it wear longer. Juicy is a great word for this scent. Juicy and sexy.

Island Fantasy is light, refreshing, tropical without coconut (I’m not a coconut fan) and it gives a nice, happy spring is here-feeling.
I could wear this at work as well as on a summer holiday.
Sugar gives some sweetness in it, but the scent is yet more fresh than sweet – which I like.
Longevity is not so good, but what can you expect from an eau de toilette..

I liked it in the shop, It smells very tropical and juicy, though I find unless I use a tiny amount what smells like a grapefruit tone overpowers everything and gives me an utterly brutal headache, Ive never had the issue before but has put me off using it as often.

Spring has sprung, and so has Island Fantasy. Regardless of the name, it’s a wet, spring rain fragrance. It’s fresh, it’s fruity: it celebrates the new budding leaves, the new blooming flowers, and it absolutely clamors for a picnic.
It’s a moderate-length rain, so splash yourself again in a couple of hours before playing in it again. 😉 …but it’s a fragrance for fun.
Maybe the new Maui Fantasy has summer covered?

This is one of my most favorite spring/summer scents!! I pick up lots of citrus & pineapple & hits of watermelon & sugar cane….just all around juicy fruits!!!
The longevity could be better but I don’t mind reapplying as neeed and sillage is initially moderate on me then it fades softly within 30mins for me

Allot of people i talk to like this but i just get like water some sugar and citrus with maybe a pinch of wood. its so bad on me its like i fell like the chemists were being cheap with the extracts….like ultra cheap but its okay i have the 100ml and there is enough for me to use it about 12 times with spraying allot to get a scent.i fell like her older fantasies had lasting power then brits like well do yall think i can make a bigger profit on this..yeah lets just go with like 4 percent extract and call it an eau du parfume

Only tried a tester, liked it and it seemed to dry down after a long period of time, to a pineapple scent on my skin. Unusual.

Britney Spears Island Fantasy smells like crisp cucumbers and tangy-sweet clementine! I do not get any watermelon either like other reviewers have mentioned, but that’s okay I still really like this fragrance! As it dries down I get more of the sugar and citrus with the cranberry giving its some tartness. This reminds me of the white tropical life savers hard candy – this smells exactly how those taste! This was a surprise because it smelled nothing like what I had expected from the notes listed, but I am going to love wearing this in the summer. The bottle color is beautiful!

This was a nice blind buy surprise. I have several flankers of Fantasy and each one smells nice in it’s own way. On this one I only get citrus and maybe some pear. I don’t get watermelon at all. I have only tried this during the winter, and it is a nice reminder of summer. It is fresh, citrusy and delicious.
Edit: I tried this in summer and was disappointed as it had almost no projection or longevity. It was very dull. I am wearing this once again in winter (it’s snowing outside) and feel that it shines best in cooler weather. Granted it is marketed mostly for summer weather, it is nice and crisp with more distinct notes in the cold weather. I like wearing it before bed.

Oh my! I really do like this, a lot. I’m not a huge fan of her other perfumes, except for intimate, but I prefer this. This is a great summer scent, or great when you travel to the tropics. The sillage is somewhat weak and the lasting power isn’t great either, but the smell is beautiful. I am really impressed, I wasn’t expecting this from her. The bottle is adorable.
