How nice the lily of the valley feels when you apply a few drops of Iperborea.
This white floral is fresh and green like a spring explosion, a breath of fresh wind reminiscent of the petals in bloom.
The drying becomes more creamy, sweet and with a soapy point, well measured, that does not bother nor reminds the classic detergent.
It feels quite unisex and I find it great for spring and summer days.
The only counter is that it suffers from the sufficient projection, since immediately it remains pegadito to the skin.

A soapy fresh light floral that conjures up temperate zones as opposed to exotic climes, opening with smooth fruit-juice-like citrus, also oddly something that reminds me of aniseed or Pernod at first, though that quickly fades.
It’s very light, suited to daytime I think. It has a green flower-stem sap idea to it that reminds me of things like Ineke’s Hothouse Flower – except Iperborea is most definitely not one of those perfumes that conjure up a giant Georgia O’Keefe white flower!
As the description suggests, it’s very much a cool-toned perfume, and once you know that the perfumer had a sort of spring thaw in mind – with flowers peaking out of the snow, that makes sense. I’m not sure I’d have thought of that without the description though.
I think how much you’d enjoy this would depend very much on mood or style. It’s delicate, introverted in character, definitely self contained. A complete contrast would be Villoresi’s Ylang Ylang which is a full-blown warm powdery/musky, very sunny ylang.
Sillage seems very soft to me (in comparison to most florals I’ve tried)longevity a few hours.

It is a soapy ,pure, delicate, luxury fragrance but it isn’t boring or trite at all. I love it so so much,it makes me happy.Of course reminds me of NIVEA CREAM like TEINT DE NEIGE too, perhaps is the musk that gives this sence. The sillage is moderate.I usually put four spritzes and I had the impression that the longevity was weak because I couldn’t smell it after 4 hours, but fortunately I found out that the others could smell it. I accepted compliments six hours after I had put my lovely parfum.

I had great hopes for Iperborea, as I have and love several other of Villoresi’s fragrances. At first spray this seemed very promising: strong Nivea creme, with good projection. Fortunately I am very fond of the smell of Nivea, and was very interested to see what came next. Much to my surprise, after two hours the fragrance was so faint that I could hardly smell it at all, even with my nose pressed to my wrist.
And that, sadly, was that. The end of a fragrant relationship before it had even begun. Iperborea will not be joining the other Villoresi fragrances on my shelves.

As others already said, this is very, very soapy. Probably the soap-est scent I have ever tried. Gentle, delicate and pure soap with a hint of Nivea cream.
Might be a perfect everyday perfume for those who love soapy scents.

I disliked the opening which was like citrusy baby wipes, powder and suntan lotion but then after about an hour the cirtus really brightens and warms up in a lovely fresh yet cosy way. I feel wrapped in lemon vanilla, cool musk, crystalline amber and thankfully cant smell baby wipes anymore. It reminds me a bit of Versense. Has good sillage and longevity more than 3hrs on my skin. It is a warm, mature and womanly scent.

It opens exactly like Hanami – sad, slightly sour flowers want to open their petals and infuse air with their beautiful smell, but they can’t because frost holds its grip upon them. The smell warms up a bit when musk comes to rescue, but it then gives way to citruses, and then its gone. Not much of a lasting power makes it useless. The saddness of top notes make makes it unusable in warm weather. It was a short and sad encounter, and I wont revisit it for a long time.

For women, not for men. I love it on my wife, she doesn’t:(

At first it’s soapy and powdery. After a while I feel white flowers. Very fresh and clean. Nice perfume.

This reminds me of Nivea creams. Nice clean, soapy scent. It’s funny but I can smell coconut, in a very sophisticated way.

do not blind-buy! order a sample or try it in the store first. that’s all i can say.

This fragrance is so clean, soapy and mild. It has baby powdery and soft musky aspects, along with sweet, delicate and fresh flowers and some slightly citrusy notes.
My first thought was that the scent seems strikingly similar to a ‘gentle smelling’ deodorant I used to have (don’t remember which one)…
The fragrance is too soapy and powdery for me, though not at all unpleasant. I can easily imagine that people who crave very mild and soft scents of lotions and other cosmetic products will enjoy it.

i meet Lorenzo and he explained the idea behind this masterpiece. he said i got the idea of the feeling when the spring comes after a long freezing winter season. its the feeling of ice melting from flowers of north greece. when the ice melt it gives a cold breeze all over, a cool wind blown that makes your spine shiver. it is trully the feeling of that scene once you first smell this perfume, cool, freshing and a complete happy perfume.
and disagree with everyone who says it’s a feminine perfume, it is a unisex… it is a feeling rather than classification.
if you want cold breezful and happy perfume, go for this 🙂

IPERBOREA is such a gentle perfume, it’s a bit soapy, a bit powdery, but 100% feminine and gentle. I think this could be the perfect wedding scent! I can imagine a bride in her elegant, shy silk gown and bits of IPERBOREA – shy, close to skin, just for the groom to smell.
This is a very pure beauty, it does not last though – only around 2 hours on my skin, but it stays a bit longer as a very soapy skin scent, like you’ve just washed your hands with luxurious flower soap.
Great choice for those seeking a feminine, shy skin scent and does not mind the lack of staying power.

If you don’t want to leave a trail of perfume behind you, don’t want to be noticed, I could even say if you don’t want to use perfume – USE IPERBOREA! It gives the sensation of “no perfume” – just clean and fresh. Testing it I even forgot I had sprayed it.
It’s difficult to separate listed notes – I can smell citruses, musk and the lily of the valley. It’s creamy, soapy and a little bit sour as a Greek yogurt.
I can imagine a nurse, a kindergarten teacher or just some very, very reserved person wearing it.
It’s not a bad scent, but it’s not my preferred Lorenzo Villoresi Perfume.

Iperborea Lorenzo Villoresi for women and men

I’m wearing one today, from a sample, and I can barely feel it! of corse I feel clean, the scent is fine and discrete… but in my opinion I can get the same result wearind clean clothes and using a neutral body lotion! O’m not going to buy it, for sure… and it’s disappointing, I was expecting so much from this one, cause I loved Teint De Neige.

    Iperborea.
The smell of sheets that were hung to dry outdoors on a perfect summer day. (In Scandinavia, people from all socioeconomic backgrounds hang sheets out to dry.) The purity of white snow. I’m thinking of avalanches. To me, this fragrance represents good manners, friendliness, class, and the color white. Iperborea, I must have more of you.

Iperborea is a creamy white floral fragrance. It’s so seamlessly blended that I almost can’t pick up any flowery note, except lily of the valley, mimosa, and maybe magnolia. It is a very ladylike, elegant, and polished perfume, with a dominant musky drydown. On my skin it has a really good staying power. 🙂

Iperborea makes me sad and I’ll tell you why. It’s hands-down my favorite fresh green floral, but its staying power is nill and because of that, I can’t justify the cost. Also, it is not easily available in the U.S., so I’ve given up chasing it. For those of you lucky enough to have it readily available, it’s definitely a tinge soapy, but that dries down immediately to a very elegant spring floral. There’s just nothing else like it that I’ve been able to find. Oh well.

    Soap opera!
I mean, really. Lovely soapy fragrance, creamy, musky and delicate. Small white flowers, not overwhelming and “loud” but very… well, blissful. Think Ciel Amouage. Soft and slightly fresh. I didn’t expect it to be that good and although it’s not my fragrance group, I wouldn’t mind having a bottle ;]

Try to imagine pureness in the highest quality. Everything white around and feeling of ice. I love the early spring days when in the air you can smell coming changes and this is it. In my opinion this is very unusual fragrance. I have only the sample but for sure I’m going to buy full bottle of this miracle.

I agree with Juliette it’s very soapy, but it’s a nice green floral fragrance, which is very light, “without shadows”, good for Spring. I smell clean and green lily-of-the-valley :o))
