Beyond how the perfume notes are identified, do not be fooled. It is identical to the invictus. However it is much more persistent. Even if they have not been reported by fragrantica I can assure you that you can hear the marine notes being opened. Better than the original.

This is sooooo good for me because of the whiskey and amber notes. When ı smelled firstly ı said “yes thats it”.Similiar to Eros but fresher than eros.Versatility 10/10 you can use everywhere.I really love it.

This somewhat reminds of Jazz Club and other rum inspired fragrances because of the boozey note. But where those fragrances are usually mixed with leather and amber, Invictus Intense has a sea / fruity vibe. So it feels pretty unique since you don’t usually smell whiskey mixed with sea and water notes. You can almost say this is the perfect date cologne, especially if you live close to the water. Day or night doesn’t really matter.
If I could describe it a nutshell, it has that yummy boozey note with a water, sea mineral background. I’m not really an Invictus fan, but this one flat out smells great to me, the original is too immature like bubble gum, but this replaces the gum with whiskey so it’s now more refined, mature and just perfect for me. Oh and I already received a crazy amount of compliments.

Personally, I’m a fan of the whole sweet and salty vibe with food so I can say I was already partial towards this fragrance.
I blind bought this 2 days ago and today is my first full wearing – It’s quickly become a favorite already. I’ve seen the negative reviews as well as the positive but it has this smooth and super sexy aroma. I wore this to work with no regrets as it’s not loud but it stays if that makes sense. The boozy note does mix well with the sea salt and come together on top of the amber. To my nose, the “bubblegum” note isn’t there as with the original which made the scent seem juvenile in a way. Invictus Intense isn’t just about a more powerful version of the original but a play on the Allure that the original doesn’t have. Same DNA but a different scent. This is worth a try IMO or a full wearing at least.
I did 4 sprays about 3 hours past and I’m still going strong and can get whiffs of this as I move so I know there’s a nice scent trail that follows me 🙂 That’s always nice lol
    Rating – 9/10
Seasons – All, I expect this to smell different in each.
    Longevity – 9/10
Sillage – Depends on how much you spray, I wouldn’t go past 5 and that’s in the Winter.

I have all three versions and love them all!! All of them get beaucoup compliments.

Tonka is not listed, but it’s there.
And all recent fragrances including the aromachemical they call tonka go sour on my skin after the top notes.
I have Invictus Aqua 2018, the dry down and the projection are better.

  8. :

    3 out of 5

it’s just a darker and deeper version of Invictus. obviously from its name: Invictus Intense. but i like this one better. cause i hate the citrusy of the original. used to love it but nahh i prefer this one now. 8.5/10

  9. :

    5 out of 5

This is a great fragrance, it has a bubblegum vibe just like the original, smells very similar to the original as well but a lot more darker and sensual, get a very sweet and slightly woody scent that is very masculine.Has beast longevity lasting me about 12+hours, also has very good silage which I would give a 8.5/10.Overall rating is 8.5/10.

  10. :

this is just as good as the original.it has more depth and its more mature. the original has a more youthful feel.
if the original gives you the feel of driving a Mustang, this one is a Bentley kind of a ride.

    A great and underrated fragrance.
A quite different of the original.
A clean, fruity, salty and slightly boozy scent with the DNA of the original Invictus. Even if it’s not listed, i get a hint of coconut.
The dry down is sweeter than the original.
Longevity is moderate-good and the projection is moderate.
I would wear this fragrance in the evening or at work (office) with a nice shirt, shining shoes, etc. I would not wear Invictus Intense in the heat.
You feel confident and sexy when you wear this fragrance.
Update (april 17) : first time i wear Invictus Intense at work. I received a compliment from a boss (woman).
Update (april 20) : i received a enthusiastic compliment from an other coworker (woman). Furthermore, i think now i could wear this fragrance in the heat. It’s a realy fantastic scent ! The performance is better than i thought.
Update (april 25) : incredibile, an other woman (a boss coworker) gave to me a compliment.
Update (april 26) : it’s crazy, two others compliments by women at work !

sorry… but anything with the word “INTENSE” in it, is anything but…
they all smell the same… berry, sweet, vanilla/Tonka…
smells just like YSL L’homme (and all 5 flankers), Paco Rabanne, gucci.. so many others

  13. :

Original is too synthetic smelling for me so I’m more drawn to this.

after buying it … I have to review my old review. finally a bomb of performance … bubblegum or not … it’s a good perfume up to 40 years for your spring, winter and autumn evenings. really many compliments !!! and great mix of amber and whiskey … the rest does not exist !!!!!!! 9/10

    Spicy and INTENSE!

  16. :

    5 out of 5

Invictus Intense is the best of the bunch. Intense projects an extremely sensual, clean, sweet, salty, and slightly fruity aroma off the skin. The projected scent smells significantly better and more complex than what you smell on your skin. Don’t believe all the negative hype about Invictus Intense, stating synthetic this and/or generic that. This flanker is a winner and a major crowd pleaser!
Paco Rabanne did an excellent job formulating this appealing and easy to like flanker. Definitely get your nose of this flanker if you liked the other variants. Intense is excellent for all season, and temperatures, and situations.
    Overall: 8/10

it is the darkest version of invictus, more seductive, deep, less banal. The whisky in it make the fragrance so good, and i smell a little bit of vanilla ( but seems there is not inside ).it is similar to invictus edt, but it’s locate on a superior level. INvictus is the children… intense is the master of love!

  18. :

OK this was a blind buy but I couldnt resist this tasty fruit punch. I just smell sweet mangos all the way. It is strong and it lasts and no one will hate it.
It is a casual fragrance for sure. Nothing complicated or special about it. There are many aquatic fragrances that smells like it. It is good to have for the summer when the sweat fails you.
This one is a good choice if you are training or clubing and will surely get you attention.
In short it is another 1 million and only Paco Rabbane can do it.

  19. :

If you want to smell like a man go somewhere else. Sweet, girly scent. I dislike both original and intense. It is ok but I don’t want my guy to smell like that. Bottle is cool though.

  20. :

    5 out of 5

Delicious fragrance. Complements monster and ladies pleaser.
This has one of the best openings in my opinion. Salty, Sweet and boozy.
It is so similar to the original invictus but it feels more rich and deep. However it performs similar to the original if not worse. Yet, it has above average longevity and sillage. People will smell you even if you dont.
One disadvantage is the final drydown you get strongly the artificial ambroxan accord that I absolutely hate but overall a great release.

Awesome frag. Just like the original last 24 hours. Paco Rabanne great job!

  22. :

This is a very sweet, woody aquatic with a hint of booze.
Same Invictus DNA…just boozy and a bit woodier.
Last all work day, projects for a good hour(more if you’re active).
So this would be a nice close encounter(Dates, cuddling, etc) scent.
Plus it last 8 hours easy…
Overall great frag to have on you during the spring and summer.
I used six sprays…both wrist, back & front of my neck, chest and front of my shirt.
Will I buy this again?…Yes(If i can get it at the same price i got it at).
What’s the strength of this? EDT
Am i willing to trade this fragrance? Yes.
Should You Skip It, Sample It First or Blind Buy It? I say it’s Blind Buy worthy.
Bling buy worthy: if you love a sweet aquatic fragrance, that will make you shine during the spring & summer months.
Sample it for free…at any fragrance store first.
    Skip it:

An ultra sweet, smooth and sensual fragrance . Lasts long and projects very well.I find this to be a very versatile fragrance. Its not sickly sweet or overwhelming , but at the
same time stylishly sweet and can be easily worn in all weather conditions. Draws attention for sure and garners compliments .

I tried a sample vial of Invictus intense over the holidays (about two applications) and my first impression was a strong similarity to Burberry Brit Rhythm intense. I’m surprised to see only one other reviewer who mentions this!
I own the Burberry, and I actually like this slightly better. It seems a bit more subtle and dignified than the rhythm intense.
However, whereas the BBRI performance is fairly beast and lasts all day and night, this seems a little weak by comparison. I expect a bit more longevity from a frag labeled ‘intense’.
This might actually have been the fault of the cheap little sprayer they put on their sample vials (a nice idea, but poorly executed in my opinion). So the jury is still out on this one. If I can get my hands on a legit tester, I might be able to apply it normally, and it might in turn perform better. We’ll see…..
    Update:
I finally had the opportunity to try this frag from a legit tester, and I was pleasantly surprised. Not only was the scent much more complex and Fuller than it was from the sample vial, it also had much better projection and longevity.
I’d also revise my opinion about it’s similarity to Burberry Britt rythm intense. While there are some similarities, i find it’s much closer to azzaro wanted. But where the azzaro has an almost overpowering sweetness, the Invictus intense is much more balanced. The azzaro also comes on super strong. I found it almost cloying.
So between these two, I’d recommend the Invictus intense.
Too bad it’s priced a bit higher than the azzaro!
    Time to start saving……

This is just a heavy and darker version of the already amazing invictus. The tonka bean is quite potent in this. I think i love this one better. Its more classy and lasts for decades. If u dont like the original, u might not like this cos the invictus DNA is very evident in this as well.
Longevity and projection is amazing. Got lots of compliments in The office while wearing this

  26. :

    3 out of 5

A nice fragrance! It has a warmer, more mature sweetness than the original. It is also easier to wear than the original, its not as harsh and loud. Lasts 8+ hours easily, and could be worn year round. This is my favorite purchase this year, very well done.

  27. :

    5 out of 5

When this was first released most said its the same as original this is NOT even close to orig way darker I get Carmel on my skin and it’s more mature in a good way performance is above avg and it’s addicting to smell I say it’s way better than orig but if you like / love orig try before buying because it’s not the same to me

  28. :

    5 out of 5

I like the original quite well. The intense version is much less smooth, less sexy. So .. Pass? I guess.

  29. :

    3 out of 5

I own this and aqua. If ur deciding between original and this, leather and tonka added to intense. I think this is better. An enough difference between aqua and intense to justify owning both. If you have the original, don’t bother. Get the aqua if you can find it.

  30. :

    5 out of 5

Have both the original invictus and the intense ,I wear the original for the day and then intense for at night ,love this version for its salty amber ,whilst the original gives a fresh take on the amber whilst keeping it sweet !
Love both and is not overpriced at all !always get compliments for this fragrance over my chanel !

Try to Ignore any negative feedback on Invictus Intense. I just blind bought after careful deliberation. I was worried over some of the reviews on here and descriptions of how salty and the ambergris dominated it however. I was immediately put at ease after spraying three sprays on myself. It still has 98% of it’s original DNA as well as adding more of the same ingredients. It’s slightly more floral, sweeter, stronger and last longer. I know everyone has their own opinions and I do understand that some people will not like this but for the vast majority who love Invictus regular will love the Intense flanker. Also this is the perfect example of what a intense version should be although I do love beast mode of all my favorites others do not so Invictus Intense is right in between. There is nothing I despise more than a so called Intense version and it ends up being weaker and nothing like the original. So don’t worry about Invictus Intense it’s a great smelling frangrance ….warning to guys expecting a super masculine vibe… it’s very deliciously done floral masculine not grow hair on your chest type it’s made for men who are most confident and comfortable with being themselves and who want to smell like Romance in the flesh.

  32. :

frankly i think many people who voted hate on this didnt smell this out, i tried it…and i thought it was damn good, potent, sweet, fruity, little darker and different enough than the other two.id definitely complete my family of the three, it will be awesome for summers as well as winter nights, for youngsters and flirty people.nothing ground breaking and lil on the synthetic side..but crowd pleasure….8/10

Invictus (the original) was a very sentimental fragrance to me. I bought it when it came out, I met my girlfriend wearing it, and the smell of it brings back all those good memories for the both of us. So when I ran out, she told me to get another bottle so I went ahead and got the intense (she even agreed I should). I like this one a bit better, it seems slightly more dark and has a better balance of notes. This gets a lot of hate but most women enjoy it, and the most important lady in my life loves it, so I will wear it!!!

I have never done a review on men fragrances, but my God I now think I need to start. On Friday I was shopping with a friend as we both needed to treat ourselves to a little bit of TLC when I saw this little trophy like gem on display. After sampling about 5 different brands (Dior, Chanel, Boss, etc) I picked it up and after one spray I knew this was the one.
@netan.el I very much agree a masterpiece! Smells so so amazing. Literally made me think of ripping a hot guys clothes off! I said to my friend “this is sex in a bottle”. LoL. Invictus intense is indeed a euphoric fragrance. Much more intense than the original, woodier, slightly fresh but also warm. After my shower at night, when I woke up I could still smell this on my wrist where I had sampled it.
I think people need to start being more open to fragrances and stop limiting everything to the hype around a product, or a particular age group people always seem to have in mind. I believe if a fragrance smells good and works with your body chemistry why not give it a try? You could end up missing out on a new favourite due to preconceived perceptions just like reviewer @Zenais86 said.
Gentlemen definitely try this out and have a honest opinion. Don’t quickly sample it and be done. Give it a little time to develop, linger throughout the day on your skin and then really decide if you dislike or like it.
This fragrance will be a big complimenter getter and it’ll be so refreshing to smell something new on a man than Paco Rabanne One Million or Chanel Blue.
I personally don’t see this perfume as a unisex fragrance as I feel it’s way too strong for me to pull off, but that is my individual preference and a woman who is very very confident and enjoys strong man-eater perfumes could rock this.
    Overall 8/10. xx

I love this fragrance, from the performance-to the scent itself-is very enjoyable for me. The ambergris and amber go well together and the salty whiskey notes make this a win in my book. 12+ hours of longevity and “fill a room” sillage, glad I own this fragrance.

  36. :

    3 out of 5

Really nice, similar to aqua but no citrus. I love the smell of this and the aqua flanker but dislike the original.
Theres something in this that reminds me of womanity and also reveal for men, guess its the alcohol and salty metallic notes.
Nothing groundbreaking just a nice summer nights scent.

  37. :

    4 out of 5

A true masterpiece. Very salty, masculine and marine like smell. It’s rich/sweet for about an hour. After that, it settles in this gorgeous dominant, strong ambergris scent. It makes me feel professional, sexy and confident. Longevity is amazing. I still smell it on my skin after 12 hours. Sillage is very good. It radiates enormously for about 2-3 hours, it then decreases slowly into an skin scent. I absolutely love the power of this fragrance. My favorite all-season fragrance!
Tip: smell or test it out before you buy, it may be too strong or sweet for you.

  38. :

    4 out of 5

I feel like this fragrance becomes magical when it has settled down on your skin. Give it a few hours.

  39. :

    4 out of 5

Honestly this could easily be a women’s fragrance I get a lot of jasmine , neroli and a hint of gardenia but the salt and laurel give it a bitterness which prevents it from going full on feminine. I can see why girls love this , because they can wear this themselves. Its basically a clean white floral but with the laurel and bay leaves giving it a salty bitter masculinity.

  40. :

    3 out of 5

No matter if people dislike this.. all girls said to me that it is amazing! I think here people love bad fragrances and dislike the best! I think they just don’t say the true! This fragrance is sexy with good performance… go to buy your grandpa fragrances that girls hate!

  41. :

    5 out of 5

Lousy perfume. Infact I lost my interest to buy Invictus Aqua due to this one’s poor performance. Don’t like and will not recommend this to anyone!

  42. :

    4 out of 5

I bought and reviewed the original last year. I wrote how the scent overall reminded me of a Belgian ale, and went on to describe how and why i felt that way. I like invictus. So i purchased this is well, with aqua about to blind bought in the very near future.
My Belgian ale comparison is true here as well. If invictus is a Belgian blonde than invictus intense is a grand cru dark Belgian ale. Intense is more dense, rich, potent, pungent, than its predecessor. All of those lighter, airy notes have been toned down if not muted altogether. This is sweeter but not overly sweet somehow. I pick up the whiskey notes in this and i feel its those notes, as well as “salty amber”, which i also pick up, that make this fragrance more dense.
The bubblegum note is still there but again it is reigned in. Like a great dark Belgian ale, invictus intense needs time, warmth and air to open up, but…it does not fully explode with aroma and nuance like the aforementioned ale. I think that is a good thing, i like the more dense, woody approach here, and i like this more than the original.
The longevity is very good as you would expect but the projection is not as strong as the original, but that may very well be a good thing. This is versatile and all seasons, save super hot and humid weather.
I saw a review on YouTube where intense was referred to as the 8 ounce concentrated cup of coffee as opposed to the 10 ounce original. I think that is accurate, but i part ways with the notion that this smells almost exactly identical to Invictus. Like a good Belgian ale, if you really smell this you will pick up more nuance, depth, and notes that make this different and not just a denser version.
I really enjoy this. If you hate invictus am I certain this would change your mind? Not necessarily but it may be more approachable and more mature. If you have not had the pleasure of a great belgian ale, and are of age of course, you owe it to yourself. In fact, grab a chimay yellow and a chimay blue. Slowly sip and savor each beer on its own, and perhaps you’ll see my comparing invictus to a Belgian blonde and the intestine version to a dark belgian ale. If not youll at least have enjoyed a top notch beer. Well done paco.

When I first sprayed, I got what it says. Intense version of the original. However longevity and projection are awful. Stick with the original.

  44. :

    3 out of 5

Great fragrance!! Smells nothing like the original, I get clean jasmine and hint of orange blossom and a lot of black pepper which mixes great, overall very good smelling fragrance.

  45. :

There is no way that you could hate this and like Mont Blanc Individual. All of you that say you do are lemmings that jump on the band wagon. This is a very pleasant smell and in the same genre as other fabric softner/Dryer sheet types. It smells really good actually and how anyone could complain about the performance is mystifying.. You guy’s gotta start thinking for yourself!

  46. :

I got this today on a blind buy and I like it, really nice, nothing amazing but nice
Little tip……TRY SCENTS BEFORE YOU BUY THEM!
Or at least try to! many times I have blind bought scents to my regret!

  47. :

    4 out of 5

Honestly its nice and I can see why Invictus is so well liked by women because a woman can EASILY wear this, because it has a lot of jasmine, more than any other designer male fragrance I have seen. The jasmine notes are tamed by the laurel and bayleaf notes somewhat but remains incredibly floral.

  48. :

    3 out of 5

This is a review base on a sample of Invictus Intense. I could see why these fragrances get a lot of hate being reviewed by people who the fragrance was not targeted for. I do enjoy Invictus for those casual occasions and just hanging out with friends and collegues. Invictus Intense and Aqua I don’t need. I find them redundant because Invictus is already aquatic and Intense not so intense to start off, smells unoriginal and very simialar to the original. These are just poor “Flankers” and I am now leery of the Paco Robane house.
I asked friends and collegue about both perfumes side by side and they seem to gravitate to the Invictus Intense. They said it smelled sweeter and that they both smelled the same. No one seemed too impressed with the scents though.
    PERFORMANCE:
This fragrance doesn’t project much on my skin in the opening compared to the orignal. Pretty much a skin intense scent to my nose.
    Longevity 4-5 hrs
    Projection 3/10
    Longevity 6/10
    Sillage 2.2/10

  49. :

    3 out of 5

Very similar to the original, so yes, I still don’t like it. Sweet, synthetic harsh chemicals to my nose. I also hated it when my work colleague was over applying it.
Now the positives: Most votes here given to poor longevity and soft sillage. Really? This stuff is powerful. It lasts forever and projects. Also my 7 yo daughter loved it. Well maybe it is better suited to young audience???

  50. :

    3 out of 5

I’ve only tried it once. My first impression is that it smells like Brit Rhythm Intense.

  51. :

    5 out of 5

To me this is a better version. Smells like the original without that Aquatic opening and without that synthetic vibe coming from the Jasmine and the bailiff note in the heart. It is going to be even more appealing to the younger crowd once it has even more of that bubblegum vibe. definitely an improved and darker version of the original with the same sweet synthetic DNA

  52. :

    5 out of 5

In short: this is a darker, less puerile and finally a more wearable version of the original.
The performance is average, but it makes it much more versatile than the original.
If you don’t like the original, try this one. It is more rounded and definitely pleasing.

  53. :

    5 out of 5

Its not really more intense in its performance, it’s simply a slightly darker/denser version of the original. I do like it more than the original or Aqua but wouldn’t buy any of the 3 any more
***Edit: I’ve changed my mind about this, don’t know what was wrong with my nose when I originally tried it. It’s really nothing like the original, I just bought a bottle, another case of judging too soon.

the intense is smoother, more floral, slightly stronger & slightly sweeter to me.

went to Macy’s. I can’t tell the difference. Intense(to me) smells the same as the original. unless they are planning on reformulating the original and “intense” is the initial juice from the release years ago.

going to have to check this one out since it appears it was released in Macys within the past week. I don’t care of the original but i do enjoy Aqua. maybe intense will be my winter scent.

Sampled this today at macys and my good friend at macys gave me a few samples to take home. This didnt blow me away but i was pleasantly surprised and really like this version and dont like the original as much. That being said its mostly like the original but a more aquatic woodsy and slightly synthetic to my nose.(which i dont mind) Projects for the first hour or so and after that sits pretty close to the skin. Longevity is between 6 to 8 hours on this one on my skin. Overall a nice scent that will get you compliments but nothing that you need to have because there are better fragrances.
    Scent:8/10

Slight touch of additional spice with less dryer sheet aroma when compared to the original. You won’t get additional longevity – original was already 8+ hours – or additional oomph from the notes. I wore both side by side.
The original costs $35 for 1.7oz everywhere online if you pay attention to sales. Paying double for this doesn’t make sense until prices drop. Invictus Aqua is still #1 imo. It has additional salty notes and ambergris that make it a knockout and very versatile.
Wait till this drops to $35. Its great, but early adopters won’t experience much of an improvement for their money.

Please stop the snarling. If you hate, you hate, tell once that on your skin it was a mess and be done, but this isn’t even launched yet and nobody will force you to buy it. These hate comments are so childish.

Stuff is awesome a deeper more woodier version of the original.
