Nosigosit – :
I thought I should add a review since my experience of this fragrance is a little different. First, it reminds me very much of Hermes Hiris. The powdery iris effect is the same, but whereas Hiris has a bright vegetal angle, and I have found it to be a little cloying, this one is supported by musk and soft woody notes – sandalwood, tonka – it feels softer, more rounded. I prefer this. I find it to be strong enough and long-lasting, but I am easily overwhelmed by heavy fragrances. It’s diaphanous…. like much of Jean-Claude Ellena’s work, you might not notice it when you press nose to wrist, but there will be a room full of light but very present sillage around you. This lasts 24 hours on me, although the drydown is faint after 12. It’s much longer-lasting than 28 La Pausa, to compare another iris dominant scent. My local Space NK always seems to have it in stock, so although it was originally released as part of a fundraiser, I think it’s permanently available now. I love it and am on my second bottle and would buy another, and I hardly ever even finish a bottle of anything. All that said, I wear it when I’m relaxing at home, when I don’t want to offend in work settings and always when I’m travelling, as I find it calming and reassuring. It’s not a head-turning fragrance. It’s one you wear for you.
