Grabadora – :
Finally, after hearing (and reading) so many compliments about Eudora’s fragrances, the company sent me their latest male release: Impression. The new fragrance comes to the market thinking about Father’s Day and, apparently, it was supervised by Miguel Krigsner, founder of Boticario’s Group.
Before describing my opinion on the fragrance, I think it is worth commenting on the communication and the concept, often ignored by the audience. Impression was inspired by the course of time in a man’s life, whether in his journey of work or in his trajectory over the years. Therefore, the bottle is hourglass shaped and has markings on the bottom that represent the seconds of a watch. On the lid, what many might imagine being veins of a wood is, actually, a fingerprint as a reinforcement of that man’s personality. Finally, a metallic ring, representing the relationships built up over the years. Actually, the presentation convinces and Eudora did not use the nomenclature Deo Parfum, which is being used by perfumery industry in Brazil. Impression comes as Eau de Parfum!
The fragrance is classified as woody-ambery and has warm balsamic notes, woods, white pepper, cardamom, and leather. When touches the skin, it seems that everything arrives at the same time: a touch of sensuality, a controlled sweetness, and a slightly spicy side. You can notice the leather, but not as I expected.
In fact, the biggest flaw of Impression is not meeting the expectations created by its appearance. When we look at the bottle and the color of its liquid, it is not difficult to imagine a fragrance of oriental type, with some alcoholic nuances and a certain sobriety. It is also not hard to expect that we will be surprised by a dry and manly leather combined with the chocolate aspect of patchouli, for example. But in reality, Impression behaves like a typical “red” fragrance, in an evolution that combines with ballads and younger men, disregarding such a concept of time and experience.
You know, it’s not a bad fragrance at all. In fact, I have had good results with other fragrances of the same style, such as Polo Red and its Intense version, as well as Ferrari Man in Red. I just do not think, particularly, that this type of fragrance tells the life story of older men, who seems to have been put aside by the perfumery companies in recent years. I hope that Eudora launches an Intense version, which will bring a stronger leather, with notes of moss, saffron, incense and, perhaps, a brandy accord.
To finish, the projection is excellent in the initial two hours and the lasting does not leave anything to be desired. But here’s a tip: always try it on the skin, because the tests have shown me that the smell stays fruity and less impacting on the olfactory tape.
