Description
Chantal Roos promoted the new collection together with her daughter, Alexandra Roos, who deals with music and has issued four albums of modern chansons. Two worlds and the sensibilities of Chantal and Alexandra unite fragrances and music into extraordinary notes while providing a completely unique style of the Dear Rose collection full of warmth.
I Love My Man blends intoxicating Bulgarian rose with centifolia rose, which whispers about love secrets with carnations, resting on a warm bed of tonka and sandalwood.
All fragrances of the collection are available in elegant glass bottles of 100 ml Eau de Parfum. The flacon excelled for its simplicity and thick glass bottom, contributing to a special refraction of light. The stopper is black with discrete golden color details. The outer cartons are white, also sophisticated and elegant. I Love My Man was launched in 2014. The nose behind this fragrance is Fabrice Pellegrin.

It is a very strong, maybe too strong, old style, powdery rose perfume with enormous sillage. This is not my type of fragrance, I would never buy a full bottle of this, neither a mini one. But for example my grandmother likes this. 🙂

Today I cleaned up my samples and found a sample of I Love My Man that I ordered before I was on fragrantica. I think the notes on the site where I bought it were different from here.
I remembered that I wasn’t impressed the first time I tried this perfume, but I sprayed a bit on my arm anyways. At the first moment I wondered what was so bad about it… I smelled cinnamon and pepper and spices, and of course, rose.
Soon I remembered, though. The scent quickly becomes very powdery, the rose is not a juicy or jammy one, but a bit soapy. Also a note like violet or iris appears for some reason and makes the scent extra powdery – in a cold way, not in a warm way like tonka does.
I Love My Man is not really bad… Just not my style at all. I find it a bit old fashioned, and I prefer warm scents. Lovers of powdery florals will surely appreciate it more.
By the way, these are the notes on the site I bought my sample from:
Top: Rose, pepper, coriander
Heart: Geranium, Bulgarian rose, hawthorn
Base: Cinnamon, raspberry, tonka, sandalwood, patchouli

It is the powdery dust roses with a 2 drops of golden tears! it reminds me allot of “The stone heads of Easter Island” with that greeny atmosphere and dusty essence that i can smell when i am around.
Delicate with a slightly harshness on the back.

It’s like expensive rose absolute has been dropped into the white-musk oriental base of Kenzo flower. Not original or ground breaking, but a classy, elegant ‘sent bon’ (good smell).

Tried a sample of this and wore it all day today but I still can’t say I like it very much. I like the initial smell which is very unusual and really strangely reminded me of my nan when she did her makeup and the smell of her cosmetics in her makeup bag which is a lovely childhood memory for me. I thought to myself I just have to have this and then unfortunately the smell gave way to strong cinnamon and ruined the whole experience. I found it to have quite a good projection – my work colleagues could smell it a few feet away and I did get complimented but just too much cinnamon for me.

Initial wafts of roses just edged with cinnamon and carnations was absolutely delightful. This soon gave way to a rich powdery mix of rose, sandalwood and tonka bean which lasted several hours, the rose and sandalwood vying for attention. Rose won and a further 6 hrs on sits there gently on my skin with just a faint touch of that initial delightful carnation.
This is a very romantic floral conjuring up images of summer weddings and garden parties.

Oh, this is wonderful! A very well rounded and soft fragrance with rich creamy tonka and bitter-sweet carnation. I really enjoyed it, but to me too much rose is a bit of a turn – off, taking from the fragrance’s appeal..
The initial whiff is pure carnation dipped in tonka oil (if there is such thing) – pure bliss! ^-^…sandalwood is also there in the background giving it the woody richness…however, as it often happens – once queen rose steps in she is all over, enveloping any other molecule with its distinctive aroma.
Rose lovers will appreciate. but don’t expect monster silage, it is a very soft but long lasting fragrance, eventually turning into a delicious skin scent..
