Very woody, but not overly so; very nicely balanced. Not too flowery initially, but the flowers start to appear very gently and subtly after a half hour. Nice for a male. The description on the website is dead on with this one.

WOW! So many diverse reviews on this one can only mean one thing, that I’m soon getting a sample. Oooops just checked the price for this 110$ for 30ml of EdT??? I wont be sampling that in fear I might like it

Yes, I love Heracles! Its woody opening leads the way to an opulent floral heart that shouldnt be missed. Oddly, I am transported to another time. Oh, say 5 BC? If you only try one Lord Jester, let this one be it. In a heatwave, it comes alive and wearing it in public, you will get attention.
True perfume is androgynous and this is one of them. It could very well have originated in an ancient apothecary. The Romans used these types of natural oils for various purposes. This one is strengthening and seductive. Its proof that natural perfume has a future, and a vey rich past!

I have been exploring this perfume off and on for over 2 weeks now, and am having a difficult time reviewing it. Right out of the gate, it was one of the Lord’s Jesters scents that jumped out as very pleasant. There were 3 others that made me sit up and inhale deeply with pleasure…the 3 being Selene, Phoebe, and Daphne. The others are wonderful as well, but I found these most accessible.
Heracles has wonderful spices and magnifiscent florals. Each time I apply it, I get different results, but I am definitely starting to identify the deep and luscious florals this scent has to offer. I’m not sure why it was categorized as Floral Fruity, as I get very little fruit.
I wish I could verbalize more of what I experience with this perfume, but it remains very mysterious to me. If you could only try one Lord’s Jester fragrance, I would have to put in my vote for this one. Tres magnifique, Adam.
ADDITION: This was written before I tried the solid version of Helios. It is a worthy contender in my book.

A mortal who became immortal after many labors and loves, he was the last child of Zeus to a mortal woman and probably the most famous of all Greek heroes. The epitome of masculine strength, vigor and courage…
This begins with a warm, woody dry floral feel and is strong and smooth. Spicy pink pepper and dry geranium, combined with elegant rosewood result in an entrance that is immediately sexy and inviting. The hearts of most LJ scents are floral, but here lavender and boronia (a vining flower from Australia with particularly fragrant blossoms) are the strongest and give it a very manly feel, but the other florals hint at his sensual, sexual side. (He fathered 51 sons-The Heraclidae-on 49 virgins in ONE NIGHT!)This is a stunningly beautiful manscent, and is not as heavy or girly as the notelist might make you think. The spices, woods and florals blend into a sublime scent that is as intruiging as it is smooth and charismatic. The drydown includes three of my absolute favorite notes(styrax, ambrette and labdanum)resulting in a sweet, musky woody accord, and warms them with benzoin and amber’s resinous haze resulting in a rich and sultry oriental scent balanced by heavenly sandalwood and bitter cassis. Opulent, yet down to earth, I can honestly say Heracles can add my heart to his list of conquests!
    Sillage: great
    Longevity: out of this world
Overall: 5/5 A Work of Art!!
I expected Ares to be my favorite out of all the LJ scents, from the notes and the descriptions; but this…THIS is by far THE BEST natural perfume I have ever smelled, and I will be buying a FB very soon. This has it all, folks…spices, wood, warm inviting florals, three of my favorite notes and a warm drydown of resins, woods and musk. I never thought I would say I’ve found a ‘signature scent’; but, if I had to be on a desert island with only one fragrance…This would be it!!
