Description
For the tenth anniversary of He Wood, the house prepared its new version He Wood Cologne, which blends woody notes with classic citruses. The fragrance comes out in May 2017.
The unique character of the original composition has been reinterpreted as a “modern and refined” cologne, with additions of fresh citrusy tones. Lemon, mandarin, ginger, silver fir, musk and herbal amber open the composition. The signature note of violet leaf is in the heart, together with its flower and transparent watery accord. The base ends with woods of cedar and vetiver. The creation is signed by Daphne Bugey.
The fragrance comes in an elongated, rectangular glass bottle with dark woody stopper. On the glass, there is is the motif of a forest, an image which underlines the atmosphere of the scent. It is available as a 150 ml Eau de Cologne.

Although I really love Dsquared, both clothes and colognes, this one was a no for me. Flowery scent, not that strong so office safe, but too feminine for me. Reminds me of Pleasures for men, one that I’m also not keen about. Bottle is nice, projection is okay, but won’t buy this one again.

I fully agree with prince64
This cologne really smells best on a rainy day ♥ and it lasts several hours which is great for an EdC. It is very intense for an EdC and quite similar to HeWood EdT, just the opening notes are a little bit fresher.
EdT lasts some 12-14 hours on my skin, EdC 8-10 hours
8.5/10

Like the spring breeze after a morning rain
How do you rate the morning rain? There is nothing more beautiful than a pouring morning rain… Have never felt anything more beautiful than to wake up to a cloudy dark Sunday day and the sound of rain hitting the wooden roof… That is when you miss home the most… and He Wood Cologne has it all.
The fashion house of Dsquared, headed by identical twins Dean and Dan Caten, released a new flanker of He Wood that shares the same D.N.A. with a new twist, this time in a cologne concentration. The disruptive He Wood Cologne breaks the rules reinventing the traditional citrus and floral eau de cologne by adding modern woody and watery elements to it, which evoke nature, strength, and vigorous virility through its simplicity.
He Wood Cologne opens up with a blast of citrus-balsamic-spicy notes, the bright Mediterranean lemon and mandarin are clearly detectable. This zesty opening yields soon the place to the spicy ginger blended with white fir. The fir that the original opened with is still here but the citrus is on an equal footing and both are kept in a way softer volume than the original. He Wood resemblance is unmistakable,
It won’t be a quarter-hour late that the aquatic aspect arises, bringing the fresh accents of violet leaves and blossom to an utmost moment of brilliance. The watery accord is fabulous, like no other aquatic scents, ain’t no marine, pungent, salty, or seaweed notes here, rather a fresh, pure, and cool smell of rain’s drops in a pinewood.
The dry down has profound notes of smoky vetiver and cedarwood sitting at the base, rounding out this woody, citrus juice, and that aroma is reinforced with animal musk and a tad of amber, just fairly to sweeten the blend.
I loved He Wood since the very first moment I saw its wooden bottle and smelt the juice inside, and I happen to love Cologne, either. Longevity and sillage are moderate, this cologne is fine for office, day and evening wear. I recommend it for transition seasons, springtime and autumn time are proper for making it shine.
If you’ve walked away when seeing a new He Wood on the department store counter stop and give this a try on a strip. You might be surprised, too.

Nice and safe generic masculine scent. Limited performance though, 3.5-4 hours max. longevity with zero sillage. Not for me.

Very nice cologne, it starts of a bit
soapy with a mandarin lemon sweetness
in the background. The dna of the original
is in there but this time its more natural woodsy
and it actually reminds me of smelling a
spruce tree, very natural and nice smelling
cologne, if you like the he wood series you
should check this one out. I need to add that
this is long lasting and projects great for a cologne.

Sniffed and bought is a gray summer flannel. A soap in a bottle. By man not finally the usual flanker of citrus. 10/10
I will rewrite about notes and performances that seem exceptional. what a fragrance!!!!!!!!!!!!
For now it starts slightly agglomerated, then spruce white (wow), vetiver, purple and purple leaves … (reference to gray flannel).
No aventus, no invictus !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
