Description

In September 2008 Gwen Stefani, in cooperation with Cot, prepares to launch a surprise of five fragrance collection devoted to Harajuku fans. The fragrances come in a form of cute small dolls, each of which has its own personality, style, and fragrant note.

There had to be five fragrances as each of them represents different styles of women. Each of the dolls consists of two parts. The upper part is the doll itself, fitted on a pedestal-like glass base filled with the fragrance. The outer boxes give a story of the perfume doll enclosed inside.

Harajuku Lovers collection includes fragrances , Lil’ Angel, Music, Baby and G, and each of them is devoted to one of her back vocals, Harajuku Girls, reflecting their fashion and life styles, while one represents her.

Love is described as a nice, soft and caring fragrance, created in cooperation with Yves Cassar and Pascal Gaurin of IFF. It opens with notes of bergamot, pink pomelo, peach, and bamboo leaf. The heart reveals water peony, silky notes of rose, jasmine sambac, nectarine blossom, white narcissus, and Egyptian jasmine, while the base follows with ylang-ylang petals, creamy vanilla orchid, sensual musk and light woods accords.

Harajuku Lovers is a cute perfume, the cap is big because the figure of the character, but the size of actual perfume just 1oz (the smaller size is 0,3oz, maybe). When I tried it for first time, I noticed this is a citrus flora perfume with slightly sweet scent. It stays really well on my skin, more than 4 hours.

although I’ve reviewed this fragrance before, I feel that I must leave an updated review.
I’ve been wearing this fragrance on and off for about 10 years and the only reason for not wearing or owning it recently is because it’s been discontinued. I can understand why some people don’t really care about this fragrance because it’s not like it’s god’s gift to the perfume industry but it has sentimental value to me.
As for the fragrance itself, it’s really easy to wear because it’s such a nice, airy floral with just a little bit of fruityness. I’d describe it as being pretty fresh and clean and pretty. I feel that anyone could wear this and smell really nice doing so.

An extremely sugary sweet rose. Not terrible but not good. It’s a very preteen scent.

I put this on for the first time in ages this morning, and suddenly noticed a lovely soft fruity scent.
I’d always thought of it as a linear floral before, and it was nice to notice something new about it after having owned it for so long

I received this perfume for my birthday when I was 16. It is a beautiful scent. It was never my favorite but always draws a TON of compliments from men and women. I have worn it for the past almost 10 years and have not gotten tired of it. The scent always reminded me of sugar, lemon and baby powder but very subtle. If you are looking for a nice everyday scent that is not offensive and will draw compliments, this is the one to choose!

Very cheap smelling rose with peony and citrus that doesn’t blend well. Not a terrible scent but not something I could wear all day. It has a kind of wax/plastic smell. It would probably be ok as a candle…

  7. :

    5 out of 5

Oddly enticing. Sweet, juicy, crispy, plastic-smelling rose. Smells like melted “rose” jolly rancher, but not as sickening if that makes any sense.
At first you may dislike this perfume. However, as it warms up on your skin you can’t help but appreciate the juicy rose cuteness. Youthful.

    Warning – negative review
Purchased all 5 in this line on a whim. Lil’Angel comes in as by far the worst – with Love a very close 2nd.
To me, Love is a sickly rose/peony. Massively astringent and synthetic. Made my eyes water and my nose run. Nasty.

a nice sharp floral scent, it’s not long wearing, although I find if I spray it on my clothes I can still smell it on them the next day, so perhaps it creates a small bubble of scent, rather than a long-reaching or lingering scent. I did buy mine as a 100ml tester bottle on ebay, so of course there is the possibility I’m wearing a fake?

My friend said this was her favorite of the 5 original Harajuku Lovers scents. I tried, I had a rollerball of this but I just could not get into it.
That smell that other reviewers are calling “the bubblegum smell”? I get that too and it’s cute and childlike. But I also get wafts of another childhood memory… this bitter medicine I had to take all the time when I was a girl. I’m not sure what’s causing that bitter note but I would not repurchase because I don’t want to smell like medicine (to me anyway).

I dont get bubblegum at all. I guess pepper isnt listed but I get a strong peppery rose from this, its pretty spicy on me. Not what I expected at all but I still really like it. This lasted about 6 hours on me and projected VERY well which is odd for me haha 🙂

  12. :

    4 out of 5

It smells like fruity bubblegum. Very sweet, cheerful and girly at the same time.
Unfortunately, sillage and longevity are very weak. Even myself barely smell anything, which is really disappointing because I absolutely love how its smell. :'(

LOVE this scent. Wish it lasted longer on my skin.

Such a feel-good fragrance. On first spray I thought “raspberry sorbet!”. Lovers is fresh, softly fruity and prettily floral. The rose is slightly powdery with a pinch of spice (imagine tea rose) possibly provided by the freesia. Now that I’ve seen the pyramid I can detect the rose and peach separately, but I still interpret them as “raspberry sorbet!” The $5 I paid for this cutie was well worth it.
Maybe it’s the packaging and presentation that brings on visions of neat vintage French shops with black and white striped awnings, planter boxes of topiaries, wrought iron patio furniture and tubs of exotic pastel-coloured ice glace. Simply gorgeous!

Bought it for the cute bottle, ended up LOVING the scent! On my it smells like berries and quite a warm feeling from it, not too sweet, but not citrusy either. Used to wear it everyday, I am a fan!

  16. :

    3 out of 5

I got this as a gift and I loved the cute figure but that’s all I really use it for. This perfume smells juvenile. And the top notes really smell to me like acetone. Like scented nail polish remover. It’s not too sweet, it’s got a citrus floral scent. It just smells too unnatural to me.

  17. :

    5 out of 5

Being the first Harajuku perfume I received it was bought soley for being a cute bottle on sale. I mostly smell the rose when I wear it, and not being a fan of rose I don’t care for it. It’s a very feminine and innocent scent.

  18. :

    4 out of 5

I like this and get many compliments but the notes are kind of blurry. Kind of has a generic perfume smell. I get more of a sharp white floral than rose from this. Definitely smells nothing like bubblegum to me, and I don’t find it particularly sweet.

  19. :

    3 out of 5

I have this one and “G”. This is my favorite. It’s a good clean light scent. I wear it with my Demeter Clean Skin cologne. I think they go well together cause they have a lot of the same notes but this will add just a touch more of fragrance without being too much.

  20. :

    3 out of 5

I got the solid perfume of these. I don’t know if it’s because it’s a solid perfume or is it that it is getting old but I don’t get much of a strong scent. From what I can sense is a rose scent w a little sweet from the peach and pomelo. I love the brand and I really like these fragrances I’m thinking on buying a bigger bottle

  21. :

    3 out of 5

This is a beautiful rose scent and the only perfume from the original Harajuku Lovers range that doesn’t give me a head ache. It can be quite over powering so you do have to take caution not to over spray it.

  22. :

    5 out of 5

I’ve worn my cute little 10ml of this off and on for 2 months or so. I liked it at first- which surprised me since I didn’t much care for rose before this one- but it had some strange tone I couldn’t put my finger on that took away from the pure peachy rose peony goodness. It was dancing around and I just couldn’t decide what to call this scent I was ‘seeing’.
Turns out it’s the YLANG-YLANG; it gives a banana like note to it! I didn’t realize that ylang had banana nuances, I haven’t had much experience with it before. It does wear off a bit for me as it really dries down, but when I spray enough to really smell it I don’t much care for that note. Also the mix of the ‘tang’, shall we say, the zestiness of bergamot doesn’t feel right with the other soft florals in it to me.
Anyway it’s a nice refreshing very feminine floral with some playful notes you don’t see put together this way very often. Fun!

  23. :

    3 out of 5

It’s weird how people say this is bubblegum sweet as I don’t find that to be the case at all.
This is a perfume I did not like when I first smelled it but I came to love it. All I can smell is the rose note so it’s very warm, a tiny bit spicy and sensuous. Although the longevity is weak, I like it so much I would buy it again. It doesn’t hurt that the bottle is adorable. Too bad I never see it in shops anymore.

  24. :

    5 out of 5

This smells like flowers and bubblegum. It’s incredibly weak in both silage and longevity, I can only smell it if I really sniff my skin, and it disappears in under an hour.

  25. :

    5 out of 5

I wasnt impressed. Smells very white floral ..almost like lillies of the valley..and it seems it smells like many other perfumes..it wasnt horrible, but i wont buy it again. I prefer G much more!

Seeing as how, after all this time, (silly me), I just found out I’m actually really allergic to this perfume, (or at least have become so), I’ll finally do a review for it because I won’t be wearing it anymore.
The bottle, like all the Harajuku Lovers perfume bottles, is ridiculously adorable. I can never get over how cute these bottles are and I adore Love’s hair. It’s so goofy and cute!
The initial fragrance is beautiful. Very sickly floral fresh and good to clear your head. Unfortunately, as time has gone on, I’ve come to dislike the dry-down and it gives me a major headache on top of the swelling of my eyes and nasal passages I get whenever I smell this perfume at all now. Such a shame. :/
The lasting power of this one, unfortunately, was never really good. I don’t have too much else to say about it.
This is a great perfume for those who can wear it, even if the lasting power isn’t so great. Honestly, though, I’ve found that Chloe’s EDP smells like a better version of this and wears much better on my skin. I’m also not allergic to it! =D So if you’re looking for something similar but better, I recommend Chloe EDP completely. This one, however, gets a 6/10 from me. I did like it, but I just can’t smell it, much less wear it, anymore.
    xx

Truly, my only complaint about this wonderful fragrance is the longevity. It does NOT LAST. If you read my reviews you can see how this can really hinder my opinion of a scent.
It’s really too bad because it smells so great I want to make sure everyone I pass gets to experience it and when they do, they love it! I feel like I bathed in a bunch of freshly picked flowers but not in the sense that it’s over powering. It’s just a “touch” of flavor in the room really.
One small suggestion, buy a tester on eBay if you find you enjoy it. A regular bottle doesn’t even contain a full ounce, I believe. I grabbed a 3.4oz tester for about $25. Can’t beat it!

  28. :

I can´t wait to get another bottle of this wonderful perfume.
Suitable for all ages. Very sensual fragrance!

It’s called LOVE and it really smells like ROSES + other flowers. What a fantasy! 🙁
It’s not bad, but after giving it a try I feel like I’ll never wear it again. Sorry Gwen 🙂

  30. :

    4 out of 5

I agree with the bubblegum impression. But before I read the reviews I thought it smelled like citronella bugspray.
If you’re in the bubblegum mindset it’s not bad though. For a peachy rose try Crabtree & Evelyn’s Evelyn Rose.

  31. :

    3 out of 5

The combination of bergamot, peach, rose, vanilla, and flowers is very pleasant. It smells spicy, warm, and fruity without being overpowering. I don’t agree that it smells too sweet, but we all have different noses and skin chemistry.

  32. :

    4 out of 5

In my opinion, usually whenever Peach and rose are combined in a scent, it seems to create a bubble gum smell and this fragrance is no different. It’s pretty and cute but I’m not going to lie, it smells like pink bubble gum.

  33. :

    5 out of 5

Sweet fruity… like juicy fruit gum. My bf said that’s what it smells like. I thought it smells like a sweet floral until he mentioned it smelling like gum and then it click. Yes it does smell like juicy fruit gum. not bad at all…..

  34. :

I really like this perfume! I got the sample and it smells delicious. It smells a little sweet like baby powder and hubba bubba bubblegum mixed together.
It also smells very nice and floral.
The only problem is that it wears off quickly (after about an hour).

  35. :

like the bottle, but this smells cheap weird and nasty

  36. :

    3 out of 5

This honestly was not a perfume that I intended to buy, but I came across it randomly for pretty cheap. The bottle is super adorable. When I tried it on it was kind of funky, but later it turned very floral, then somewhat powdery and sweet. Basically it is a rosey/fruity powdery scent. I think its interesting, but I’m not sure if I actually can say I like it, the more I think about this scent I really don’t like. The fruity notes in Harajuku Lovers Love make this scent unappealing to me, it also kind of smells like pink bubblegum. The lasting power on me was about 5-7 hours.

  37. :

    3 out of 5

I don’t know if it’s just my skin or my nose, but after it dries it smells just like a really sweet cinnamon to me. It reminds me of Christmas, therefore I can only see myself wearing it during winter. This was a blind buy, I don’t like cinnamon but it might grow on me.

  38. :

    5 out of 5

On my skin, this perfume reminds me of Tresor, which in turn reminds me of rotting fruit. Although I love to eat peaches, I dislike the smell of peach in any perfume.

  39. :

    5 out of 5

Although there’s no tea or violet notes in this, I’d say this would make a good female counterpart to Gucci Pour Homme II.
Love is aptly named – lovable and pleasant. Besides the ridiculously adorable little Asian girl, this is such a fun, happy, youthful scent. I mainly get a citrus-peony affair with what smells like some tea notes and a bit of soft, non-indolic jasmine in the background. It’s pleasant and friendly, the sillage isn’t too strong, but it still lasts a good while.
Chemical Bonding by Ineke is very similar, but Love is a lot better in my opinion; less headache inducing than Chemical Bonding. This is the only one I’ve tried so far out of the Harajuku Line, and I think it’s wonderful. I’d love to smell more peony fragrances!

Can someone please help me? I bought this one online from Frgrancex and not sure if it is authentic. Has anyone had the same issues from Fragrancex? Does this smell like alcohol when you first spray and then fades into a scent very similar to Lamb Gwens first scent? PLEASE HELP me Im thinking I may have got a non authentic tester of Harajuku Lovers Love.

  41. :

    5 out of 5

This was my favourite of the Harajuku Lovers line, it’s a pretty fresh floral, light with soft fruits and flowers, I get mostly peony and rose. There is a citrusy hint to it as well. Nice and girly, but the staying power isn’t great.

  42. :

    3 out of 5

I voted “like” on this one. I actually love this smell once it dries down. It smells just AWFUL for the first few seconds. I love the bottles, and would’ve voted “love” had it not been for the fact that the scent only sticks around for about a half hour 🙁 which makes me sad. I like to share my harajuku lovers collection with my 8 year old. Sometimes before she goes to school I let her pick one out and I spray it on her. You can tell she feels so grown up, and I feel good knowing that the smell will be gone within the hour.

  43. :

    5 out of 5

I didn’t know what to think of this when I first smelled it… it was unlike any other perfumes I had at the time. However, after using it for a day, I couldn’t get enough of it, I really liked that uniqueness of it. It’s my favorite out of all the harajuku lovers scents.

  44. :

    4 out of 5

I just ran out of this, I have been using for over 3 years.
Obviously I love this fragrance. It is feminine, but has a real edge.
It starts off strong for sure, but within minutes it’s a beautiful soft bergamont-rose-vanilla which works awesome for me. It’s super deep too, like you’re smelling a combination of many many things. Oh, and lasting power is incredible, it’s all day for sure.
My boyfriend compliments me on it every time I wear, which is almost everyday, even after having smelt it so often. He still says how amazing I smell.
I’ve moved on to new fragrances, but he still talks about this one and asks me to get a new bottle.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the fragrance, but I needed change.
But it won’t be out of my life forever. As long as it’s still being made, I’ll be getting another bottle for it to be my fall-back.

I don’t know what everyone is saying bad things, i LOVE this perfume. It’s just so easy and simple, nothing too crazy. You fall right into it.

This is the only Harajuku Lover I dislike.
It smells like rubbing alcohol, weed killer, sweet pea, and roses. I tried it on in a store. I’m glad I didn’t blindly buy this.
Scent: 4/10 (I’ve smelled worse. *cough cough* Viva la Juicy *cough cough*)
    Bottle: 7/10
    Staying Power 7/10

  47. :

This was one of the first fragrances that began my foray into perfume collecting. I began as a floral worshiper and this was pretty much up my alley. Unfortunately I believe there must be some ingredient that this manufacturer is using that just does not agree with my skin as all of the Harajuku fragrances turn on my skin. This was no exception. The wonderful feminine florals in this turn into something strange and synthetic and just slightly off. Very sad as it is lovely if it works with your chemistry.

  48. :

    4 out of 5

Let me start off by saying I hate florals. Florals remind me of bathroom spray after you’ve used the washroom. This perfume on the other hand, is one of the only floral ones I can stand. It’s a little strong when you first spray it on but it’s tolerable, even to a floral hater like me, and it dries into a soft sweet floral. Very nice!
I have about 5 different perfumes on the go right now but this is the only one my boyfriend can identify when I wear it. He says he loves when I wear Love. Haha! So props for being a fragrance that can be recognized!
That being said, I’d much rather use the Harajuku Lovers G perfume…it’s more my style. But Love was worth buying!

  49. :

    4 out of 5

Very nice. Somewhat light but I can stand when something this light has the potential to be strong. The peach jumped out at me immediately. This is my springtime Thursday fragrance as a “looking forward to the weekend” kind of thing.

  50. :

    3 out of 5

to me it’s very floral but still wonderful. the bottle design is very well done. It draws you in.

  51. :

    4 out of 5

    Edit:
OK, so here I go again having to revise my post.
I tried this again today, a much cooler day, and it is very pleasant. More soft and less gender neutral. It’s actually very good and softly floral. Not harsh at all! What a difference 20 degrees makes! Now I wish it lasted longer! I’ve had it on for 3 hours and it’s almost gone. 🙁
This fragrance smells good, but it’s not at all my style. On my skin, it smells so much more gender neutral, almost masculine, than the notes seem to relay.

  52. :

    4 out of 5

Although it’s not my favorite out of the HL bunch (a bit too floral for me) I get so much attention from guys when I wear this! It’s like Love Potion Nr 9! So definitely worth getting, unless you’re spoken for 😉

  53. :

    3 out of 5

I love this fragrance so much! It’s very floral. At first, it’s a little overwhelming, but later, it’s very fun, youthful and pretty! I definitely recommend this fragrance! Plus, I bought the full size (1 fl. oz) for $19!

  54. :

This one is my second favorite in the HL line is smells veery fruityy and fresh perfect for everday

I really like this scent! Very fresh & clean! It just does’nt have any staying power! They need to make a perfume, because the scent is beautiful!Did you get that Gwen!I still love you! nO dOUBT! 🙂

  56. :

This is a little sharp and screechy when first applied but settles to a very fresh floral. Non offensive and a little different than other florals on the market. It is a little like Whimsical from Revlon. Even Kate Moss Velvet Hour maybe it has freesia in it. Freesia to me can smell sharp and spicey at times I can see where others think it is a little spicey. It lasted well on me too and so did the Music one. I think these two are the nicest the others smell like chemicals. They are too expensive for the size and Gwen has not got the message because the new mermaid one is the same sort of size and expensive so I guess nothing is going to change there. I suspect people get sucked in by the bottles and that’s ok because everyone collects perfume for diffirent reasons.

For me, it is a bit cold fragrance.
Although it says it’s floral, i felt like it’s woody.
Hmmm, it’s great for Autumn and chilly weather.
Anyway, I’m not using this one anymore since it reminds me of my ex boyfriend.
I wore this perfume when we last met.

  60. :

I tested the other four perfumes in this collection earlier and was not at all impressed. Some of them were at best marginally wearable. I got a sample of this one at a later stage and wasn’t expecting much at all. HOWEVER, this turned out to be absolutely lovely!!!!
It is soft, gentle, sensuous, delicate and seductive at the same time! It is not at all your typical fruity floral, it is very well blended and doesn’t smell cheap at all. Creamy warm peach blending with sweet flowers, it is AWESOME on me, smooth and very feminine. The dry down is warm, sensual peach nectar drizzled with vanilla. This is actually the first perfume I’ve come across that reflects true peach.
I am surprised to see how many reviewers find it spicy. I don’t detect anything even remotely spicy about it.

If Baby Powder, Sweet Pea, Flowers and Bubble Gum got together and had a Fragrance Baby… Harajuku Lover’s “Love” would be it! (Heavier on the flowers and baby powder. How it smells on paper and clothes is very different all together than you skin.) It just smells like a clean, little bitter, floral. If it was a color it would be Gray. Then a surprise emerged as it melted in… pink. Very very light touch of sweet. 🙂 mm nice.
Soft powdery floral that is clean, uncluttered, and just enough sweet to make it feminine and young. Without even coming close to any cloying or sweet gourmand. Just a touch. Something light bubble gum. On the way to work, that is all I could think while smelling it: Baby Powder, Flowers, Very Light touch of Sweet Pea &/or Bubblegum. ~ Nice. 🙂
    Feminine sweet and lovely.
~ Just don’t breathe it until it settles into your skin! Otherwise it smells a little weird 🙂 (And strong!) But I think that maybe that is a given; being that it is a Harajuku Lover’s fragrance. 🙂 They all seem to have that “off” quality about them.
I got compliments when showing my wrists to coworkers yesterday. 🙂
I do have to say I don’t smell the fruit notes at all. Maybe that is where the “sweet pea/ bubble gum” soft sweet note is? And absolutely no vanilla. So I don’t smell the notes listed here. Maybe it’s just my nose? But, Mostly it’s just a powdery floral with a touch of sweet.

this has a sharp edge to it. a spicy, but odd smelling floral. i like it much better after it dries down. i also like the bottle alot better than the juice inside, but i do use it occasionally. my favorite from this line is “baby”. i love to collect the bottles tho.

My boyfriend gave me a bottle of G that I liked, and I wasn’t really after Love, but I found it on sale for $7.00 and decided to give it a chance. I was really surprised.
It does smell young and is not expensive or sophisticated but, it is fun! 🙂 And honestly I can’t pass up the bottles they are just too cute.

I tried some of this on paper and my wrist while i was waiting for the lady at the perfume store to write down prices for another scent. I am one of those people that gets sucked in by the flask and this has got to be one of the most adorable flasks i have ever seen ^_^ There was something really special about this fragrance so i thought to myself i’ll add it to my ‘wish’ list when i am back at home.
By the time I got home I was completely IN-LOVE and sniffing my wrist and the test strip for the entire night. The next day I went back and made a purchase LOL!
I know what fragrance I’ll be wearing this summer, this is my new favorite <3

Love is an not excatly what I imagined “Love” to smell like. Not entirely anyway.
The opening is light and sweet. The only note that stands out is a lemony-fruit note. May be the peaches, not sure.
When love starts to get down to business, a burst of shy flowers explode onto your skin. I can’t tell them apart, but i know that they sorta work. Delicate and sugary, i would imagine this is what someone would imagine a flower would smell like. As if a cartoon figure gave a girl cartoon figure a single flower and she sniffed that single flower: Love is what she would smell.
The ylang-ylang is found in most mature and “classic” fragrances and perhaps this gives off a romantic feeling, but Love seems to try very hard. Kinda when an immature girls wants to smell mature. Not happening.

  68. :

Love is girlish, quite peachy, watery and as sweet as sugar syrup, however it has a soft vanilla base.
I went to test it for the Narcissus and Ylang-ylang, but sorry overall it’s not my type, though the bottle is an eye candy.

Gwen’s freaky dollies xD Never had any desire to try them out, since they ‘look’ quite childish and … not quite kawaii imo. [actually, if I once love any of them frags, I don’t care about package xD] But, once you start lacking of stuff to try [grr… the UK town I live atm doesn‘t provide more than capital city I hanged around before. Still there‘s stuff like this left undiscovered], you just grab something you never tried.. Sometimes it leads to surprises.. Pleasant ones, sometimes not. So this one, started not so hot [too much alcoholic to my taste], but developed into eau de Issey alike. Just similar a bit. Weird. Shira nei .. I wanna bubblegum -.- I’ll better try Lil’ Angel

This is one of my favorites! It smells so pretty. You don’t even have to spray on a lot because the scent lasts for a while. I would definitely recommend it.

i love this one! i just wish it came in a bigger bottle! this is the fourth perfume i have bought at walgreen on sale! it was on clearance for $14. I bought it about a 2 months ago and it is almost gone. I would definatley buy this again! i am a big fan of musk, so this is nice

This scent is very neat and unexpected for a celebrity fragrance with such a young targeted age. At first glance, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from Love. One spray later, and i knew i had to have it. On me, this scent is very green and bamboo-ish. Its like being in a cool, soothing pond with bamboo growing all around. It is undeniable sweetened by a melange of flowers, but i always get that dewy, fresh and wet bamboo note. It is very long lasting and is a memorable scent.

I was a bit hesitant to try out these Harajuku things, they seemed sooo kitschy but Love is a very charming little scent.
It kind of reminds me of the clean scent of washed clothes straight out of the washing machine before you put them on the line. Clean & fresh & sweet from the fabric softner.
It is simple, uplifting, familiar & I like it.

I always get a lot of compliments when I wear LOVE.
She’s a spicy, peppy little flower. A cute little trouble maker. Wakes and lifts you up for an evening of fun.
I don’t get a real sweetness from this, just a gorgeous floral blend with a kick.
I love to wear this on a night out with my boyfriend, who also loves this.

Such a cute concept and great packaging. Unfortunely, all the perfumes in this line smell the same to me. They smell like shampoo to me, or suntan lotion, all perfectly good in their element, but not an ideal perfume note for me.

i used to like it a lot, but now i find it smells strange. Like almost rubbery, maybe its just me.

One of the more pleasent ones of the line, weird because i thought i would like the floral fruities(but didnt) & this one smells pretty much like nothing but flowers & it was more pleasent to smell, but i still dnt really like it.=/

This one is the strongest and most grown up of the harajuku collection. To me it smells spicy and at first a little bit like bubblegum. I used to hate this scent, but now I just think it is okay. I sprayed a tester on myself a few days ago and it was tolerable. I would not wear this, but I would not wrinkle my nose if I smelt it on someone else.

Love is my second favorite after G.
first I want to say about the bottles. I heard people calling them tacky and cheap…I think their cute and real collectors items. Gwen knows what sells and whats ‘in’ and I know all the girls who like japan and all the stuff around it, love these kawaii perfumes.
ok about the scent. its a soft, romantic floral fragrance with a slightly fruity intro. its absolutely not too sweet and I really dont get why some people say it smells like bubblegum. weird.
anyways Love has the most ‘signature’ scent potential since it has the most character from all the Harajuku Lovers fragrances

This is the best of all the Harajukus– the other four are all intolerably cheap vanilla musk based. This is a sweet (EXTREMELY sweet) watery, pink floral. The ylang ylang is the most dominant note. A nice fragrance for a teenage girl and the only one of the Harajukus worth buying.

Of all Harajuku perfume, I think this one may be the best. Floral, really pretty. I think that if you asked a typical teenage girl which one of these five is the prettiest, she’d say that Love is.

Just as Sashenka said below me, this perfume smells like bubblegum…. Or more specifically in my opinion, HubbaBubba bubble gum, but in a much lighter and more mature way. I don’t find it too childish at all.. Of course it’s not sophisticated by any means, but it’s a fun, carefree fragrance, and I’m happy just with that. My only complaint is that it doesn’t last very long, you’d have to respray pretty well almost every hour to keep this scent with you all day long.

Smells like classic bubblegum. Actually not unpleasant but the bottle(and this whole line)irritates me to no end so I gave it away and feel no regrets about it.

I bought all the harajuku lovers set
cos they are so cute to display, and
    also very nice smell, especially
love which is floral and feminine and lil angel which is sweet and candy like.
I really love this set of perfume and
the idea of making personality for each
one of em was……oh blimey what
is the exact word to express it?
    ……..Kanpeki Da!

I’ll admit that prior to testing the Harajuku Lovers series, I had little respect for Gwen Stefani fragrances. I was actually surprised when I first tested Love, I didn’t expect it to be so unique and addictive.
The scent is soft and sweet. It smells somewhat like musk sticks, but a hell of a lot nicer and smoother on the skin.
The sillage is fantastic. I sprayed a tiny squirt on my left wrist and everywhere I went I felt like I was shrouded in a cloud of this fragrance. Perhaps the sillage is a little too strong because after a few hours I began to feel a little dizzy.
Overall, this is a nice balance between musky and sweet. It doesn’t smell childish yet somehow I can’t imagine a mature woman wearing Love.
Harajuku Lovers Love, is for the spriteful, energetic and pretty young women that aren’t afraid to wear something bold and sugary sweet.

Reading a few reviews blow I was expecting something sickly sweet and bland. But when it landed on my skin it smelled very floral at frist. But then it became rather spicy and not sweet at all. Now I am not talking heavy spices like YSL’s Opium. Love is more like Opiums more light hearted teenage sister.

I got the solid Harajuku Lovers Love and I put some on and then I sprayed some Cabotine by Gres over it and I had such a lovely smell it’s my new mix from now on!

Nice light perfume. I do not agree that it is too sweet, it is not. It is softly fresh. Really caring and comforting. It does wear off rather quickly.
