No. 8 is a celebration of east meets west. Featuring the starring scent of kyoto cherry blossom. The combination is sweet, floral, fuzzy, and a little bit clean. This fragrance is not a gourmand, the listed notes are a mistake, there are no french pastries in here, although the fragrance is sweet and fooled me too. The hanae mori fragrance inspired by french pastries is indeed hanae mori #7.
I don’t smell a lot of passion flower, but to be honest I’m not sure what passion flower smells like. I actually grow passion fruit in my backyard but I don’t think those crazy looking flowers really smell like anything. Not claiming they have no scent, just saying I can’t smell them myself. Although there is this little extra something making the fragrance smell a bit cleaner than cherry blossom, so I think that may be where the passion flower and freesia is.
I love no. 8, it’s one of my favorite spins of cherry blossom out there, and I know there are a lot. This fragrance manages to stay quite sweet from start to finish although it’s certainly floral. I can get the sandalwood, but never imagined patchouli would be in here, but I am a patchouli lover so I suppose I’m not very sensitive to it.
Top note: Sicilian orange, Kyoto cherry blossom, plum nectar
Middle note: Passion flower, Sambac Jasmine petal, pink freesia
Base note: Indonesia natural patchouli, Australia natural sandalwood, musk

One of my favorites. Very fresh, light pretty fruity floral. At the first spray I get the pastries and plum and cherry, as it dries down more of the cherry blossom and the Passion flower. But mostly cherry blossom comes out in this one. Which is great. It think it’s gorgeous. And it was a big winner with my significant other also :c)

Is this available anywhere outside the U.S. ??

You have to like cherries, this is very much a cherry scent, fresh, sweet but not overly, more juicy/ fresh, it is easy to wear, summery, nice..Not something I would wear much, as I don’t care for cherry scents, but in its category of fruity scents, not bad at all!!! Too bad they only come in 100 ml, forcing people to pay more for bigger sizes!

This is not a bad scent, just too much cherry for my taste. No. 7 was much better in my opinion.

If you are seeking bubblegum, look no further. I don’t really detect a pastry note here, just a general “sweet” scent.
I know the notes say cherry blossom, but NO8 is so much more fruity than floral. In fact, it smells more like strawberry candy to me than any cherry blossom I’ve ever encountered.

Hanae Mori No 8 opens up with a bold cherry scent combined with the strong sweetness of the pastry note. The cherries initially give the fragrance a vague medicinal smell to my nose. I did smell a tinge of something that felt tropical, but it didn’t last.
As it wears down, the cherries fade slightly and the plum gives the perfume more depth. The passion flower must blend well with the other notes because I can’t pick it out from the cherry and pastry notes right away. It dries down to a sweet, subtle fruity floral that is easily wearable.
Overall, Hanae Mori No 8 a pleasant scent that could be worn practically year round during the daytime. It comes across as youthful and cheerful with a pretty sweetness. The silage is moderate with a few sprays, and the lasting power is moderate.

We just got a tester of this at my store where I work (Lord & Taylor)but we haven’t gotten any product in yet. So the other fragrance people and I kept spraying this all day yesterday! This is a beautiful scent! I love all of Hanae Mori’s perfumes. It does remind me of Escada’s Cherry in the Air, which I already own, but something about this one is more mature and exceptionally exquisite!

this smells like a teen girl and its her birthday party….also it smells like the pink medicine your parents gave when we all were kids!

Yeah, I’m not a big fan of this one. It’s definitely one of my least favorites from the Hanae Mori line. There’s just nothing to it and the cherry thing has been done before, and better. I much prefer the new Cherry In The Air from Escada. That one is SO much more delicious than this one. Oh well. BEAUTIFUL bottle though! : )

I obtained a sample of this from Nordstroms. Very, very sweet. I mainly smell cherries, and perhaps some other berries. There is also a faint, pastry note that makes an appearance. If you’ve smelled Hanae Mori 7, I think the base notes are similar. Very bright. Very cherry. I’m not a big fruit lover, so I won’t be purchasing a bottle. I do think a lot of people will love this one though.
Longevity was decent (about 6 hours). Sillage seems to be good at first, but then gets closer to the skin after about an hour.
