Description

The Halloween collection of perfumes, which once belonged to the designer Jesus Del Pozo and is now a separate brand, presents two new editions, a masculine and a feminine Halloween Shot. These scents of daiquiri cocktails are inspired by the game of billiards, the night atmosphere and its mystery.

Halloween Man Shot is an oriental – woody perfume. Its top includes brisk lemon daiquiri cocktail notes with spices of cardamom and black pepper. The aromatic – floral heart of iris and sage is placed on the intensive base of leather, vanilla and amber wood.

It is available as a 50, 75 and 125 ml Eau de Toilette. Halloween Man Shot was launched in 2016.

This one totally deserves the hype. The daiquiri notes mixed with the cardamom give it a boozy, dark and sexy vibe that can more easily be described as somewhat of a mix of scents like CH Men Privé and YSL La Nuit de L’Homme.
Sillage is moderate, never radiating much more than a arm’s length and starts getting closer to the skin after the 3hour mark and stays as a somewhat strong skin scent for up to 8hours.
For the price, it’s definitely worth a blind buy.
    Age group: 25+
Seasons: Definitely more suited for the Fall and Winter
    Occasions: Nights out and dates
Overall: 8/10 – For less than 30 bucks for 125ml you definitely can’t go wrong with this one. It’s not mind blowing but it’s a very inviting and sexy scent that will definitely garner you some compliments. If you enjoy La Nuit de L’Homme, you’ll love this one too.

Recently got this and I agree with the Jay Z Gold comparison but this seems lighter to me. I also enjoy Gold more. I haven’t smelled any of the other fragrances this is compared to but it’s not bad for the price.

Just a note of explanation for those wondering why these Halloween scents are not listed under Jesus del Pozo, the brand which the original Halloween fragrances were once a part of….
Halloween is now its own individual brand and as such all newer releases and new production of the original Halloween aromas omit the Jesus del Pozo name.
You can learn more at Halloween dot com.

I picked this up on a whim for cheap, not really expecting much, but WOW what a pleasant surprise. Sure, it’s got similarities to a bunch of other stuff, but it’s still very much its own thing – and it lasts and projects incredibly well for something at this price point.
Don’t even think twice, just pick this up. It’s beautiful.

Smells so similiar to DG The One edp. Which means its great
    Same projection issues.
Doesnt do too bad with longevity but still a soft scent along with its projection. More pf a skin scent after the 1-2 hour mark. Longevity about 5-6 hours. I have to say it lasts a bit longer than DG. And for the projection issues this is a way cheaper bottle so smash that sprayer and itll do a bit better.
    Scent 8.9/10!
    Longevity 7.5/10
    Projection 7/10
    Update:
This is so damn similar to DG THE ONE!! Its crazy maybe one note off
Believe it or not this one actually projects and lasts ON ME maybe 1-2 longer! Screw the hype these are facts based on trials. Tested it over course of a month. I keep coming back to it thinking no way itll be good for how much.. *spray* *spray* mmmm

I’m glad I didn’t blind buy this. I guess I’ll have to test it again and let it dry down. But all I got was honey in the opening and I was done. this is a Winter cologne. Winnie the Pooh honey bowl LOL

Lovely scent. That it’s so affordable and comes in a 4.2oz makes it all the more better.
People mention this scent smells like Valentino Uomo, but I honestly find it smells more like a cross between la nuit and le male than uomo. For the first 15-30m, it opens up as la nuit, then settles to a le male type of scent, but less offensive. Think of it as a smoother, more crowd pleasing le male. I won’t say it entirely doesn’t smell like uomo, as it has the vibe of the iris, but the iris is very much in the backseat to the spices, which is why I get more of a le male vibe.
What I will say is I will no longer be purchasing le male as it’s new reformulation is trash as it is. This is a great alternative to me. I want to make it clear that it isn’t a le male clone, though. If you’ve smelled le male and are reading this review thinking, “oh, I’ll skip on this one then”, don’t. It’s different enough to warrant checking out first. I simply think it’s a good replacement for that le male kinda scent that I wear. It’s also not cloying, despite being sweet. I actually wore this in 90 degree weather during summer and I found it to work great. However, this just works better as a scent during the colder months.
Overall, this is an excellent blind buy and has impressed me enough to be on the lookout for other Jesus Del Pozo scents. Longevity is great, smells is stellar, and I’ll definitely be keeping it in ym collection.
    Longevity: 7hours
    Scent: 8.5/10
    P.S.
I think fragrantica’s listing is incorrect (unsurprisingly). The house I believe is Jesus Del Pozo, and this is simply the “Halloween” lineup.

This is a really beautiful boozy fragrance with prominent notes of vanilla, iris, cardamom, and the drink known as daiquiri. It smells like a boozier version of Yves Saint Laurent’s Le Nuit de l’Homme but with iris note instead of lavender. The daiquiri note is very strong in this, and this is one of the booziest fragrances I’ve ever tried (which is a good thing since I love those, and totally in line with the name of the fragrance being “Halloween Man Shot”). It’s absolutely perfect for a night out, and would pretty much only work for nights in my opinion. Sillage is moderate while longevity is moderate leaning strong at over 6 hours. Overall it’s a very nice boozy, dark, and sweet fragrance for men. I also love the bottle.

In response to “No one has said this but this is a Parfums de Marly Layton clone!“
The reason no one has said that, would be because it smells nothing like Layton

    [batch M20907… not recognized]
If you exclude its alcoholic opening (where I can smell nothing for around 5 minutes) then beautiful Iris, rich vanilla, spicy pepper and cardamom…
I own none of the perfumes it is supposed to smell similar to, so the scent is rather unique for me…
Very versatile, I could wear this all year round.
Performance is unfortunately well below average like all perfumes currently out there (or most of them)… I just have to overspray.
“good if you have $25 to waste” is what another reviewer said … I spent £30 and I do not feel I wasted anything!!!
My review summary is just 2 words…
    Intoxicatingly sexy!!!!!!
    Scent 10/10
    Performance 1/10

A great, warm fragrance that is very versatile. Also has a pronounced fresh aspect from the lemon and sage that makes this great even through spring. From a value standpoint it can’t be beat. Satisfyingly unique, and excellent quality. While it may share the leather and iris aspect with the likes of the Dior Homme’s of the world (which is one of my favorites!), I don’t think this is trying to be that. This is more relaxed and fun with a pronounced sharpness from the cardamom and smooth daiquiri notes. Great for night out or day at the office. Excellent, underrated fragrance. Love it.

  13. :

    4 out of 5

Very underated and yes it smells similar to uomo intense and a few other great fragrances but it stands alone and is a great scent that last 8+ hours and could easily be a signature scent.

Cubaknow said he knew on this one, so decided i’d check it out…I’m glad that I did!
I have yet to sample all the fragrances this is being compared to so I really can’t say one way or the other, but it has made a very affordable substitute for the the Valentino Uomo Intense which I’ve been wanting and can’t afford right now. Not that it smells exactly like V.U.I., it doesn’t but there’s enough of the scent I was after to keep me happy til I can afford to make that larger purchase.
I find it a touch harsh upon first spraying but that fades quickly enough becoming a very pleasing scent with all the powdery goodness I was hoping for during its dry down.

A strong MEH. Worth a try if you have $25 to waste, otherwise save your money for something else. I don’t really see the DHI or Valentino similarities, they are minimal at best, to me this stands alone more as its own frag. It’s decent in the colder months for a quick spritz if stepping out to run some errands, but def not a panty dropper by any means. Again, someone who bought based on good reviews and was kinda let down. 6/10

  16. :

    3 out of 5

I blind bought this when the hype was crazy high, and it turned out to be merely decent.
Definitely not bad, a pleasant scent of iris, lemon daquiri (no idea if it actually smells like the drink) and cardamom. While it does last a long while, it doesn’t project or create a great sillage. The major drawback of this fragrance is that it tries to combine so many different fragrances, leaving one sort of bland, muddy mess. It is also somewhat synthetic, not quite cheap smelling but not amazing
Try it before you buy it.
    Easy to wear, inoffensive
    Smell – 6.5/10
    Value – 8/10
    Performance 6.5/10
Overall 7/10, not bad for the price

This fragrance brand belongs to the Perfumes y Diseño Group family of brands.Other brands examples are Desigual, Tous and Roberto Verino.
It’s a nice fragrance that in terms of scent stays somewhere between Valentino Uomo, Dior Homme, CH Men Privé and YSL La Nuit de l’Homme. That should be a very nice spot to stay 🙂
Lemon daiquiri, dark spices, vanilla, leather, iris, cardamom, and amberwood, are the very well blended notes that I detect.
However for me is missing that special “something” to love it. As I am not a particular fan of Valentino and Dior Homme, so probably I would like this fragrance to lean more to the YSL or CH directon or even to an independent own direction (more bozier and darker).
I do not consider that Perfumes y Diseño tried to position Halloween Shot as a clone. This fragrance has its own individuality but trails a path that is dominated by big designers, so Halloween Shot may be in a tricky ground. Perfumes y Diseño has another brand called “The Nights Collection” that really propose very nice niche quality fragrances, but not featured in Fragrantica.
Let’s see the maths for Halloween Shot Men
    Scent: 8.0 (my judgement)
Longevity: 7.5 (a bit above average for the existing notes – less than 8 hours)
Sillage: 7.0 (3~4 feet at its peak with 3 sprays; projects for less than 2,5 hours)
Uniqueness: 8.0 (preetty unique, considering the distance sustained with the 4 mentioned fragrances but not far enough from them)
Wearability: 8.0 (all year round, day or night, except summer ar any warm/hot temperatures)
Versatility: 9.0 (yes to clubbing, socializing, events, restaurants, bars, dates, romancing, sex, office, picnics, weaddings, movies, birthday gift…. no to beach and work out)
    Quality: 8.5 (my judgement)
Presentation: 9.5 (gorgeous and effective bottle)
    Price: 8.0 (100 ml tester for 23 Euros + VAT + shipping)
    Average: 8.17/10
I may buy it again but just for a lower price.
If Halloween lounches a flanker called HALLOWEEN MEN SHOT IN BLACK, I wiil be the first in the wueue to by it.

Hell yeah! This must be one of those love-it-hate-it- fragrances based on the hyped up reviews and the recent bitched-up complaints (if you get my drift?). Anyway, what does it smell like? Well, it’s definitely synthetic smelling with hints of attempts to copy vintage YSL Lanuit (impossible) and maybe a dash or two of Dior Homme Intense. That should give you fellas an idea of the composition of this value-based beauty. Nonetheless, for me, it checks all the boxes…
    Affordable? CHECK!
Masculine? CHECK! (albeit not uber testosterone)
Unique? CHECK (however, not completely distinctive)
    Attracts the ladies? (Bingo!)
In summary, don’t expect Tom Ford or Creed quality. Or even YSL or Dior. I like to call this “The Poor Man’s Lanuit/DHI.” But very much worth checking out!

Add me to the list of disappointed people who blind bought this hoping for a hidden gem based on the hype train. My very brief review of this pretty much echos the comments the couple of reviewers below me made.
This actually reminds me of Jay-Z Gold when I smell it. Kind of this fresh/spicy/sweet vanilla/slight floral/woody/leather amalgam. It doesn’t smell bad, but also like Gold…not good enough for me to want to wear either. And to be honest, a bit cheap smelling.
I’m no fragrance snob, as I love me some cheapie-but goodies like the next guy. But sadly, this was a swing and a miss. Longevity and projection seemed about average.

  20. :

    3 out of 5

I too bought into the hype Tran but was sadly disappointed!
First things first this isn’t a terrible fragrance but to me this is not good by any means. ( even regarding the price)
I do have to agree that this is a clone or attempt at copying La Nuit and I do see the similarities but the differences are that La Nuit is WAY better blended and this is very cheap smelling and synthetic.
To describe this scent on its own it’s sweet, slightly spicy and powdery with a really screechy synthetic note in the background. In the opening it smells like the typical sweet, fresh scents like 1 Million, invictus and Eros but then dries down to a more bland, synthetic La Nuit.
Im pretty much neutral but i did choose dislike as I can’t see myself wearing this and yes this is cheap but there are amazing cheapies out there for the same price or less. ( Blue Jeans,The Dreamer,Cuba Gold,Cool Water,Perry Ellis 360 Red and White just to name a few)
Performance on this was average as it lasted 4-6 hours with average projection and Sillage)
Overall rating — 6 out of 10 ! Again this is not the worst scent ever but it’s nothing amazing but a redeeming quality is the price even though there are better options ( See above)

I bought a sample of this after all these great reviews and was so excited to get it!
I dont like this at all! To me it smells cheap and the overall scent isn’t that crash hot to my nose. On the powdery side but more an actual smell alike of a baby powder product or something along those lines. Almost like those disposable rubber gloves with the powder but if it had a sweetness added to it. I love a bit of hype and always chasing a sample down so I have zero regrets and actually enjoy that process of testing fragrances going by lots of positive reviews on fragrantica.. Its just a shame that I’m not aboard this hype train because I wanted to like this also by the notes…

  22. :

    4 out of 5

Reminds me very strongly of Valentino Uomo (the first), but has a soft vanilla to soften Uomo’s harshness. To me, this would make it more wearable (for anyone), if not for the fact that it smells very cheaply made. A much better scent would be Futura, from Armaf. Where the Valentino has harsh edges, the Armaf is softer, yet still lasts quite well, and does it without smelling like a blue light special.

  23. :

    5 out of 5

Agreed! – The price to quality ratio for this scent is off the charts!!!
As for this smelling like Dior Homme and Valentino Uomo, yes, kind of, but it smells equally like La Nuit de l’Homme for a part of its life. To me, this smells most similar to Armani Eau De Nuit, which is a VERY good thing, especially considering the $20 price tag! It’s like Dior Homme or Valentino Uomo made a baby with YSL La Nuit De L’Homme and then drizzled it with a bit of honey.
Performance for me this weekend hasn’t been as good as most of the other scents mentioned, but it does squeak out the performance of the reformulated La Nuit, so that’s a plus.
Projection is light to moderate, but consistent. People will get a nice small whiff when passing by closely, but this will not overpower other scents. Basically, it’s the perfect projection for a first date, and in that situation, I think this is absolutely a scent I’d choose! The only negative, I will say, is that this is a bit olfactory fatiguing in nature. But honestly, sometimes, (like on date nights) that’s exactly what you want – a scent that will be a little bit forgotten, rather than the center of attention, when you’re around it for long periods of time.
I asked lots of opinions on this one while I was out this weekend, and every single person liked it. I even had to give away my travel atomizer because a friend of mine liked the scent so much.
The original Halloween Man made me nauseous, but this flanker is COMPLETELY different. There’s nothing annoyingly synthetic about this one. It’s utterly crowd pleasing, performs decently, and it’s really well priced. Two thumbs WAY up for this one!
However – if you love the scent but want better projection and longevity, spend $20 extra and get Armani Eau De Nuit instead. You’ll thank me.

As other users have stated, the ratio of quality to price for this fragrance is off the charts. That alone makes it a safe blind buy.
The scent itself is gorgeous. Boozy, but not overpowering; the vanilla is sweet and powdery and gives off a vibe similar to Versace Eros. Here, though, the vanilla is supported with a leather that steers this fragrance in a much classier direction.
As such, I like Halloween Shot as a dress-up work fragrance. It makes me feel confident and classy. What a steal this is!

  25. :

    5 out of 5

At $23 for a 4.2oz, this is an incredible bang for the buck. Has the boozy sweetness of CH Privé, the spicy sensuality of La Nuit de l’Homme, and the powdery sophistication of Dior Homme.
I can’t say with certainty that the quality is up there with those fragrances, but I definitely think this is an outstanding alternative. It has a rich, multilayered scent, perfect for fall and winter, it projects decently, and lasts for hours. If the notes sound like your cup of tea, don’t hesitate. 8.5/10

  26. :

    5 out of 5

I didn’t get much of the cocktail element but otherwise it’s a really smooth blend, so while you might think that’s there’s this or that note, none come across with strength. It’s very pleasant, and I don’t get anything I usually dislike (strong lavender, noticeable chemicals such as dihydromyrcenol, calone, iso e super, cashmeran, etc.), but it doesn’t seem especially strong, at least in terms of projection. I think I prefer Magnet for Men by Eclectic Collections, which is similar but stronger, and the notes are more obvious (it’s got powdery rose rather than powdery iris, and is sweeter, but not supers-sweet). At current prices I doubt you’ll be disappointed if this is what you’re seeking (that is, a Dior Homme type scent that doesn’t have the strong lavender and is smoother/weaker/less “feminine”). My 125 ml bottle was less than $20 new, total price.
UPDATE: After a couple hours the leather started to really come through and it distinguishes this scent more. It seems to get stronger over time, actually, but that just might be some of the muddle of notes at first dissipating, allowing others to “shine through.” Apparently some think this smells like PdM’s Layton, but I haven’t tried that one.
And to those who are disappointed that it doesn’t smell “as good” as this or that “big name” designer scent, I think you should just stick to exactly what you want and stop trying to find a scent for a third the price that is the same. What I like about this one is that the notes are correct and the quality is at least as good as many “top designers.” The problem with so many of those is that you get a “chemical” quality that just persists for hours, whereas with this scent, I don’t get that kind of harshness. I may not get the depth or complexity here that I could with a vintage scent, but if I want this combination of notes I know I can reach for this one and I won’t be disappointed (whereas with vintage there’s often something I don’t like in the composition, such as obvious lavender).
Do you want harsh white musk? Look elsewhere. Do you want some sort of obvious and fake wood note? Look elsewhere. Do you want some ridiculous fruit note that seems to belong in the produce section of your supermarket? Look elsewhere. Do you want to smell like you’ve been on a week-long bender? Look elsewhere. Do you want so much iso e super that you smell like a natural gas plant? Look elsewhere.

This fragrance IMO…it’s like CH Men Prive By Carolina Herrera & La Nuit de l`Homme By Yves Saint Laurent…had a love child that, no one knew about(Just walking around out in the world). And grew up with his older adoptive brother Valentino Uomo Intense By Valentino.
It smells great and it’s under $20 to boot.
It’s a sweet, boozy, leather jacket smelling fragrance.
This is something you can buy and not worry about having a regret about.
If you like YSL La Nuit & CH Men Prive…Layer those together and on your clothes or skin.
If you like that, you’ll love this point blank.
I see this being a cheap and easy grab for date night.
Movies, walk in the park or the beach…with someone special.
Lovely fragrance that will draw attention to you.
Now i want a long island ice tea, i just keep sniffing my wrist.
I used five sprays…both wrist, back & front of my neck, chest.
    Will I buy this again?…Yes.

Sweet and reminiscent of many appealing designer fragrances. I get pretty good performance from this. Actually, all things considered, excellent performance. Its a powdery vanilla fragrance with a decent amount of sweetness. On the lighter side, but over-application could change that quickly. There’s something very similar in this to Scotch and Soda’s Barfly. Regardless – this is one of those that will serve its purpose over and over and over and there’s really not a good reason not to have this in your collection. If you’re a DIor Homme fan, La nuit d’lhomme, or any other sweet designer – don’t shy away from this one. Oh and it’s a decent bottle.

Halloween Man Shot is a nice scent for fall that will not break the bank. It is similar to Valentino Uomo Intense but it is done in a different way. If you are not a fan of iris scents, this might be the DHI clone you want. Iris is not there to me. Instead I get a citrus cleaner heavy open from the lemon and daiquiri notes. Then after wearing it today especially, I noticed a kind of mint juelp accord in mid which I loved. I’m guessing that is from the sage. Now I will say it isn’t on the minty side, but it smelt like mint juelp. Following that you get a vanilla heavy base that lasts and lasts.
This surprisingly is more of a fall day scent than a night scent to me. Yes, it will work in Winter and Spring as well. Yes, it is good for night dates but honestly it is a good workday scent. My now ex-girlfriend smelt this on me for the first time two days ago and instantly thought it was a Fall scent without me saying it was.
Performance is pretty good. It don’t project like say Valentino Uomo, Uomo Intense, Mugler Amen, Ferragamo Uomo or others can, but it is a solid one. This is why I say it is more of a daytime scent. I do also find it can last 8-10 hours as a skin scent, but it will easily become a victim of olfactory fatigue as it goes on.
Overall, Halloween Man Shot is pretty good. It is in no way up there like Valentino Uomo Intense but it is a good cheaper alternative with a different open. I think it is fine with the demphasized iris note. I rate it an even 8.0 out of 10.

    Trick or Treat
Appropriately named I would say this on is a trick…
I may not be able to rattle-off notes and create elaborate descriptions of a fragrance but I have a good nose when it comes to knowing things smell the same and Valentino and Dior this is not!

I agree this is a good scent and others have described it accurately. However, it suffers from a horrible name. I didn’t even recognize it until my wife pointed it out. Tough to dose yourself in man shot and still feel good about yourself in the morning.

  36. :

    4 out of 5

I’m shocked how damn good this is. The first minute is a bit meh, but after that all you get is creamy sexiness with a touch of citrus and spice. The core of it is a very powdery, soft vanilla. The smoothness comes from the combination of the iris, vanilla, leather, and rum to make one of the coziest scents I’ve ever smelled. The daquiri, which lasts all the way through the drydown, gets pretty subtle but still has enough presence with the cardamom to make the composition both more interesting and sexy.
    Scent: A
    Longevity: 12hr+
Projection: moderate for ~1-2 hours, then mild
    Extreme value. High recommend.

I was testing Halloween shot female version which by the way I liked very much and added it to my wishlist immediately, that I saw it’s male version
I usually don’t test male fragrances in my normal perfume-trying days but it’s expensive looking bottle made me want to try it
I’m terrible at describing colognes but I’ll try my best
Female version is a combination of sweet caramelized vanilla, boozy fruity notes and a touch of powder.this one is exactly it’s masculine the other half
I don’t know what daiquiri is but Halloween man shot opens fizzy, boozy fresh citrusy and spicy.something like peppery lemon flavored alcoholic beverage.citrusy freshness calms down while spices remain quite strong and blend with something that I interpret as vanilla and iris.it becomes warmer, less sweet, darker and softer in drydown
This masculine scent is sexy and elegant at the same time.it smells expensive and inviting and I liked it so much that I added it’s name in my notebook near it’s female version so that I’d remember to buy it for my man as a fall fragrance
Eye catching bottle, great scent, reasonable price and impressive projection are all factors I want in a fragrance and Halloween shot, both man and woman versions hit the point

The best part of this fragrance starts 8 or 10 minutes after spraying. You can really start noticing a very pleasant sweet smell. It is powdery, but you can feel the hint of citrus, the touch of leather, and subtle note of daiquiri (I guess is that). It stays linear. For moments it resembles to CH privé, La Nuit YSL, yet it has its own subtle brush strokes of originality. Something good about this Halloween shot are its projection and longevity.

    ★★★ (3 / 5 stars)
4.2 oz is frequently $22 online.
“These scents of daiquiri cocktails are inspired by the game of billiards, the night atmosphere and its mystery.” – tag line
Fresher and more versatile than I had expected going in. I own all the Halloween fragrances and all of them perform well. This is no exception.
The freshness comes from the realistic (scary that a $22 nobody designer fragrance can do this and last when other companies costing 4 times as much fail) Daiquiri top and mid notes. It indeed smells exactly like an exotic daiquiri cocktail with powdery vanilla and iris swirling around.
At times the freshness of the lemon and vanilla mix to give off a Versace Eros vibe (Eros does it with mint and vanilla).
The dry down of woods, leather, resins and left-over alcoholic party drinks has a touch of Armani Code (original) and Carolina Herrera VIP Club….perhaps even the new Sean John release in the all black bottle.
The bottle has a nice cap, excellent sprayer, linear and strong and the gold trim looks expensive as it tops thick glass and a fading black color. Man Shot looks better in person than online pictures.
Suitable for fall, winter, and spring, perhaps summer nights, but not extreme heat. A dozen girls at my college remarked positively about this fragrance. And they know I wear cologne frequently so this can definitely compete with many top designer scents.
My personal favorite from the Halloween line (stupid name but who cares – it’s about the juice) and unique. It’s definitely not a clone of anything but has similarities to Carolina Herrera, and Valentino fragrances. Perhaps closer to Zara 9.0 since that’s a Valentino clone but fresher. Highly recommended.

I’m a huge fan of the Halloween man line. So when I saw this for sale on EBay for the first time I bought it. I never buy fragrances before smelling them so I took a shot in the dark with this one. The bottle is beautiful. A chrome gold top with a base that fades from black to clear. The scent, to me, is a warm vanilla and woods. I would compare it to some Carolina Herrera scents. This is definitely more of a fall/winter scent and can be used for either formal or casual occasions depending on how it wears on you.
    Scent: 8/10
    Longevity: 7/10
    Spillage: 6/10
