Description

“I loved creating ‘H’—The Exclusive Aoud&mdahs;for Harrods. I have blended some of the rarest, richest, and most exotic materials available to capture the spirit of this peerless store. I hope my rich, sumptuous creation embraces the spirit of the store itself—the finest in the world.”—Roja Dove.

H Aoud arrives in a luxurious, transparent flacon with a cap with Swarovski crystals in emerald green color. Its composition provides an unusual blend of gurjum, cypriol (nagarmotha) and valerian, with an aim to enable warmth and depth to accords of patchouli, vetiver and oud wood. Refreshment in the composition is brought by bergamot, geranium, rose and jasmine, while a spicy twist originates from nutmeg and oregano. Additional warmth is provided by labdanum and benzoin combined with birch tree, as an additional decoration to the floral-spicy heart of the composition.

Fragrance H Aoud was presented exclusively at Harrods Salon de Parfum. The flacon arrives as 50 ml perfume concentration.

H Aoud was launched in 2014.

It smells so good that I m considering to buy a full bottle. It is woody and smoky with a hint of dark Roses. Not at all similar to Lyric Men bit it does remind me a bit about jubilation men. Really nice and unique. I wish it had bit better projection though. I cannot feel unless I bring my arm very close to my nose.
    Scent: 10/10
    Projection: 7/10
    Longevity: 8/10

The closest thing I can think of is L’Autre Oud (Lancome) mixed with Splendid Wood (YSL) with added resinous aspect. It’s the cheapest of his Aoud line and you can kind of tell…but sophisticated and quality none the least.
*Will compare to Dua’s Alpha Oud soon

H The Exclusive Aoud (also known as Aoud H) is a Roja creation for the upscale british shop Harrods, which has become a kind of british Mecca for selective luxury perfumery. For Harrods Roja mentions that he worked with rich and rare materials, combining agarwood, valerian, gurjum, cypriol with rose, jasmine, birch, benzoin, labdanum, nutmeg, bergamot, geranium and oregano. Aoud H in the skin shows an oriental creation that puts focus in the agarwood and that seems directed mainly for the Arab public. However, this is not an agarwood scent that comes down to the contrast between the sweetest and most medicinal side of the accord that has become so well known. The creation opens with these scents on the skin, however it turns into a full-bodied boozy aroma, something that reminds you of a more exotic and intense version of the aroma found in Idole de Lubin. Unfortunately the flowers can not compete with the exotic aroma and boozy aura and end up getting very discreet on the skin. At the background it is possible to perceive a more classic and rough leather aroma, which gives a differential touch to the idea. The resins end up appearing well in the final stage of the evolution in the skin and create a somewhat sweet and warm aroma that mixes with a soft woody aura.

A really interesting chypre oud scent. Never smelled anything like it. Polarising smell, for sure. But to me, I think it’s the best oud scent, that is not a rose one ( I can’t feel the rose anyway)

I got a bottle as a gift and to tell you the truth the bottle doesn’t matter. This smells regal and expensive. Before receiving the bottle I was ready to write this perfume off. 4.5 stars out of 5.

Wow, what a discussion. I have actually went shopping at Roja’s Haute perfumerie in Harrods. It is made, like Harrods itself, to bling and ooze luxury for tacky arabs and other poor folk. Tasteless.and you are literary not allowed to leave without purchase…lol
Roja’s perfumes are the same. What’s with that Swarovski crystal on the bottles? Supposed to be luxurious???! Maybe if you are 5 year old. Lol. Fragrances are not unique or exceptional either. And l seriously doubt about all that natural ingredients stuff advertised. What Roja is actually doing is creating a market for luxury goods. This has nothing to so with perfume or stuff we care. Only money. It’s like you can’t bare living without Chanel bag then you can’t be seen without his perfume. Quality and substance is not relevant unfortunately..

I haven’t tried this one and as this is Harrods
Exclusive its not going to happen soon.
I have been lucky to get almost all other
samples of Roja and I like them.
Prince Diaminy M was sold by Arabian oud
exclusively at their Oxford street shop and the
60 ml bottle was selling at £10000. Later B version of Prince Diaminy was introduced. That
Was being sold at £5000. They are not available
right now and I heard people are waiting for
this scent. Roja Dove is charging only a small
fraction of this amount so why single out Roja
    for high prices?
Pricing I think is decided by not just quality
but also snob value, demand, hype, exclusivity
etc., We have only one choice- To buy or not
    to buy lol.
And Roja fragrances have been called Gurlainish,
pricey, tacky, old style… but they are selling.

I am perhaps not the biggest fan of the man himself, HOWEVER, some of the comments below are a bit harsh.
I really think RD makes an effort to produce scents that DO NOT smell synthetic, that’s for sure. He may constantly make reinterpretations of classics, but that is not necessarily a bad thing.
H AOUD is a stunning fragrance actually. Medecinal raw oud start that quickly becomes smoother as time goes by. I then largely pick out a patchouli that combines very well with the oud. It lasts a long time and has an acceptable degree of diminishing projection.
