Description
This is Gucci’s second fragrance for women. Gucci Rush is a very attractive and recognizable fragrance, impulsive and irresistible, just like love at first sight. The name of the fragrance “Rush” reminds of stimulative drug, very widespread in America during 1980s. The intensive red bottle has the shape of a video cassette tape, a very unusual and modern design. The fragrance is composed like a luscious exotic floral cocktail: Californian gardenia, South African freesia, jasmine and Turkish rose. Corriander, vanilla and patchouli emphasize the oriental character and uniqueness of this fragrance.
The top notes are gardenia and freesia; the heart is created of jasmine, Turkish rose and coriander, the drydown unites vanilla, patchouli and vetiver. The fragrance has a lingering trace that follows the woman and surrounds her from all sides. The perfume was created by Michel Almairac in 1999.

I remember a woman who wore it every single day. It was something really green with warm spice. Back in time I always associated Rush with her. Even now I can’t wear it without feeling I am wearing someone’s dress. On me it’s much deeper and darker, I can’t feel anything green. Just spice, musk and leather.
error_44 – :
Oh my… this literally made me feel ill. A major headache occured and it made me very nauseous. Yuck!
This smells like sugared burned plastick sprinkled with coriander and peach candies. The worst thing I ever smelled! I’m sorry!
kalaka93 – :
Gucci Rush is such a fun fragrance! Plastic fruit and flowers in the best possible way. This stays very peachy on me and has a nice woody patchouli-vetiver dry down. Very unique packaging too. My love for Gucci fragrances continues to grow.
handi7wavygepelay – :
I heard Gucci Rush came out when Tom Ford was still the creative director at Gucci and I find this fragrance somewhat similar to Tom Ford’s compositions today. Gucci Rush is definitely not for the faint of heart or those who wish to blend in. It’s unique, bold and incredibly sexy. I really love this!
luchici13 – :
Man, the vetiver, patch and peach combo smells quite good on me for about half an hour then it’s gone. I sprayed quite profusely and if I really buried my nose deep into the crook of my arm or cleavage, I could smell it somewhat after the half hour mark. But who wants to fork over that much with so little sensory payoff?
Maybe the name “Rush” is more appropriate than I realized like a person is supposed to feel after sniffing a line of coke – that big peak and then bam! It’s over.
What an expensive letdown.
Could be this is another victim of the dreaded reformulation. Tired of these big houses coasting on their reputations and churning out pale imitations of their former hits but still charging large bucks. Disgusting.
surlokatop – :
I love how this has Vetiver in it and these days vetiver is thee ingredient to be in a women’s fragrance to make it smell masculine, smoky deep, maybe a little dirty, and not so innocent ingredient.
GRelorgeW – :
Men like this. That is all.
Гладиатор – :
What’s funny is the pyramid above : does that match anything inside this red plastic case ????? Nay. Nay.
I get happy plastic cherries.
No plants or flowers were harmed in the making of this fragrance.
That said: it does smell original in a weird way , and it is an “upbeat” scent as well in it’s own weird way.
BONUS: it does last all day long…… for the price that’s pretty good.
BUT: DO NOT BLIND BUY !
Serejzhko – :
Beauty. And the Beast.
tanalla – :
Smells exactly like an apple lollipop,i cant pinpoint which one but probably something from chupachups. Gets a like from me, but very offensive and strong.
Bypeanaeday – :
Perhaps of all perfumes I ever scented the one which gave me the most visceral revulsion instinct. Too strong, too everything, like being hammered music down your ears and needing to take a step back. It made me nauseous to be on the same elevator as somebody wearing this.
I have not enough words for how much I hate this.
sergius755 – :
Exotic. Powerful. Intriguing. Alluring.
Gucci Rush is a scent perfect for women who do not shy away from shining in the spotlight and leaving trail of admirers behind them. Its scent is a heterogeneous mix of floral, sweet, slightly musky which gives it an overall spicy tinge. It’s embodies what a confident woman should be. Gucci Rush captures the strength of women and perfectly encapsulates it in a bottle. It’s my most favorite fragrance to date, a frangrance which leaves me entranced in it’s mystery.
Aleksanderr07 – :
This scent gives me an impression of a “Sexy Lady Boss”. Like a badass lady. I love it so much. My first bottle of this is a hand-me-down from my mother. That was 10yrs ago, and the bottle still smell so good!!
Disabssceby – :
Why all my absolute favourite juices are in silly bottles ?!
I dont get any plastic or sensual clubbing craziness that many here seem to experience, to me Rush is very creamy in a romantic way, the peach note gives it a certain freshness that makes me crave it more in sunny days although I never tried it in very hot weather, but to me it’s too bright and uplifting to be associated with gloomy wintertime. Everything have been said about longevity and sillage, one spray will make your day and it could last forever on fabrics.
It’s simple, if I had to wear one single perfume for the rest of my life it would definitely be Rush, it’s a lifetime love.
NadinS – :
Love it, wear it…this fragrance is amazing. Its one of my favourites in my large scent collection.
It is sweet with hint of sourness.. and that’s why its amazing and memorable.
Its my youth scent… it was very popular when I was in my 20’s. Still now I get many compliments when wearing it. Thank you Gucci for creating Rush.
asinegub – :
AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL !!!!! This smells very similar to Trouble by Boucheron because it has a powdery coco smell to it. I get no plastic what so ever but every nose smells something different. This scent is PURE HEAVEN to my nose. My new Sigature Scent.
IXRobert – :
I smelled this on a coworker, very unique and sexy! This is the first day I am wearing it, seriously its so freaking longlasting and sillage the same! The smell is not even faint after a whole day! Amazing!
jangke2 – :
I usually keep in a distance 90’s perfumes. But today I gave experimental try for Rush, so many good things I heard about it. Weird thing, I don’t feel anything what is listed in notes. On first spray it’s almost jungle greenery. I kept waiting for fruits and vanilla everyone is talking about or maybe patchouli. I got nothing else later but pure leather and something reminiscent of garage and cars. I wonder if guys could pull this off. For me that’s big no no.
poppppppoppp – :
Damn! Love at first sniff.
Weird, evocative, DIFFERENT.
Is this like Mitsouko on speed and rock n roll or did the crazy longevity of Mitsouko stick around all day and blend when I tested Rush?
Either way, I impulse bought an overpriced 50ml “bottle” at Shoppers tonight and it’s making me feel excited and nostalgic.
It’s spicy but light, potent but airy.
Wow!
Addendum…
Picked up child from hair stylist today and the waft of expensive “product” they drenched her hair in was so much Gucci Rush. Hairspray notes are okay…who knew?
Addendum-dum…
A few weeks passed and now the scent turns me off. I mourn my short-lived thrall to this unapologetic synthetic.
Love to visceral dislike. Yike.
Xcube – :
Gucci Rush is by far the most fascinating and enigmatic perfume I’ve ever had.
It’s like I ought to remember something that I cannot focus.
One thing that comes to mind is “Schön” of Mila Schön (not sure this could have anything to do with it..notes are in fact so different).
“Love”
img62 – :
Hello all you expert noses out there, Im desperately seeking a perfume that smells like Gucci Rush ‘after’ it’s been on the skin for 4 to 5 hours (so possibly the base). I see the vetiver, vanilla and patchouli in Gucci base but I have had no luck 🙁
Any suggestions? Gucci Gucci Rush
FYI, I loathe the first 4 to 5 hours of Gucci Rush but the LOVE it, what a conundrum
gloomy2008 – :
ILOVE Gucci Rush only after it’s been on my skin about four hours. I tried to look for other fragrances that had the same notes in the base but rather evident in the middle but to no avail 🙁 Any suggestions? I honestly can’t cope with the top and middle smell.
cemneriertied – :
This perfume is really complicated for me.i think it’s smells cheap but in the same time it’s the sexiest perfume that I’ve ever smelled.i really want to have it but I think there’s many better perfumes out there that i should have so I won’t buy it now.
Никитос – :
As a guy, this perfume makes me go weak.. Even when i smell it on the streets.. Its very distinct. *sigh*..
Bionioumn – :
I could have sworn there is an incence note in this one! Probably the coriander that gives this smokey effect! Unfortunately this note has a very scratchy effect on my nose so i’m not a fan, but I can objectly say that this blend is a good one!
AcoolA – :
I love it and wear in winter time ❤️
VS19 – :
Plastic-fantastic. Always remember my mother wearing this.
It was so luxurious in 90/00’s Poland.
The song which can describe it for me : this is Cher- Believe and some Vaia Con Dios stuff and some Roxette. Precious and cheesy memories. OH well. I’m like a little duckling following this smell whenever I feel it.
Ksaltotunn – :
To me, it’s like an orgasm in a bottle 😉 I love Rush so much! (Also the band is good :D)
alex2562 – :
I’m surprised Kohl’s had this!
I followed FruitDiet’s instructions and sprayed myself 8 to 10 times with Rush. I didn’t turn into a red rectangle 🙁
Rush does have nuances of “poppers” and it is coupled with a carnal peach accord. This peach accord is very suggestive, in my opinion. The opening is very syrupy-sweet and an intended “chemical accord” slaps you in the face. It does very LIGHTLY resemble the scent of poppers. Eventually, Rush settles down into light white florals that frame a sultry peach syrup accord and “something plastic.”
I would really love this if it had less sweetness… I will continue to test it.
bob13 – :
Synthetic, plastic & fantastic.
Unforgettable 90´s perfume gem, a sign of that times.
You had it – or you were out of line. Rush is a LOUD & ULTIMATE PEACH /yes, I know, dirty patchouli & waxy flowers included – but that peach rules/, terrible & amazing at once, alluring & annoying at once, carefree with funky vibes. Easy & thrilling like Sunday morning in New York.
tamir147 – :
Fragrance -Gucci Rush Gucci
Bottle from – 2015
This fragrance reminds me of a bit wild and passionate woman looking for some fun after the sun goes down.
Rush opens with a burst of heavy, loud, synthetic in a good way, sweet and a bit unusual plastic flowers mingled with creamy peach and with a wisper of bitter patchouli lurking at the edges.I can detect a nice touch of gardenia and rose but jasmine is the strongest flower in the bouquet.
As time goes by,a bit warm vanilla starts to emerge,
softening the harshness of the bitter patchouli.
The drydown is all about patchouli, vanilla and musk with a hint of vetiver, and the fruity-floral notes recede into the background. This is a classic scent, but I don’t think it’s outdated.I would say this is a modern classic. It has some similarities to X for Women by Clive Christian and Rasha by Al-Rehab.
Longevity – 10/10(10+ hours)
Silage/Projection – 8,5/10(heavy projection and silage for the first 2-3 hours)
Weather -best in autumn and winter
Age – 25+
Compliments – 7/10
Scent – 8/10
Main notes according to me – patchouli, peach, jasmine, rose, coriander, vanilla.
The drydown is a bit dark, moderatly sweet, musky and powdery and I get some patchouli, flowers, vetiver, musk and vanilla.
Emotions -wild,passionate,wicked,sexy,let’s have fun vibe.
Occasion -perfect for nights out.
Don’t blind buy this one.Try before you buy.
duchessense – :
Lactonic peach redolent of peaches basking in the sun and luscious whipped cream with a distinctive plastic undertone and a biting edge from the coriander and patchouli. Divine, but the modern formulation is diluted and fleeting compared to the unapologetic fruitchouli bomb I smelled years ago. If possible, get an older bottle!
DawnIntat – :
What about layering ‘Rush’ (Tom Ford — poppers) with
‘Tuscan Leather’ (Tom Ford — brick)?
I just purchased ‘Gucci Rush’ because of these reasons: It’s fun. It’s a legend. It smells like minimal techno or drumnbass towards its end in clubs. It’s plastic, which is great because e.g. Katie Puckrik: ‘Nature doesn’t always have the last word.’ The flacon is a red opac videocassette… The flacon is a red opac videocassette! It’s a projection of the success and sex glamour of the young Tom Ford. It’s a bold, loud and long fragrance, tucked into red laque pants that sit just above your pubic hair; sweaty hair that had been flattened before with a hair straightener, almost no eye brows. It’s all that I would have like to live when I was too young. The faint and hip borrowing of that time today in fashion editorials and on the street is not even worth a mention here.
I could see Tom Fords ‘Tuscan Leather’ and its serious testosteron confidence giving this narcotic baby another rung into the underworld of your twisted, retrograde subconsciousness.
Only thing to dislike: If you spray it on clothes, the dry down might remind you of ‘Sunflowers‘ by Elizabeth Arden.
pr9n1q – :
I’m not at all into peaches!! but to be honest this one is really really nice, worths to try, it is so delicious, feminine, fruity, deep scent imo!
serhii – :
This is my signature. The first time I smelt it was in vogue magazine at my friend’s house in 1999. It smelt like dessert to me. I had never smelled anything like it and this kicked off my obsession with perfume. I begged my mom to get it for me 5 years later I received it for Christmas. The year I moved away from home my bottle cracked, I was devastated and tried to save it by keeping it in a ziplock bag! I have since owned 3 bottles of it.I would keep one in my car and one at home sadly the one from my car got stolen. It’s strange that most people get Peach because I have never thought of it as a fruity fragrance. I mainly get a Gourmand creamy vanilla woody spice. Although I do remember my second bottle smelling a little more plastiky sweet and less than vanilla than the first. My fiancee hates this one which I don’t even care because my love affair with Gucci rush came first haha. Nevertheless this will always be my in my collection. It’s best for cold days and nights out. The silage is moderate and the longevity is about four to five hours on me I like to spray it on my clothes rather than my skin.
valdimar – :
Instant headache. All I’m getting is patchouli. I get no fruity. No flowers. Just straight patchouli. I’m trying to wait it out for the final dyrdown, but I think the headache is going to win out and this one might have to get scrubbed off.
valmiera – :
Although this is not my taste, I have to admit it’s very significant.
Juicy peach well blended with, patchouli, floral notes and a bit of vanilla in the undertone.
Young, sweet, fruity, playful scent for fall or spring.
kosdelabar – :
This perfume gives me a headache. I gave my bottle away.
jiolmik – :
“We`ve come a long long way together, through the hard times and the good, I have to celebrate you, baby, I have to praise you like I should”. I`ve already written a short review in the past but it didn`t feel right, this longtime companion deserves more than 3 sentences, it deserves a poem, a song, a requiem. I was 19 when a then-boyfriend who came from a trip to Paris gifted me with what would become my holy grail. I know that a lot of people despise the bottle, I, on the contrary, admire it, I remember being fascinated by this packaging, it looked so futuristic. I was used to, like most of us, to the pretty glass elegant bottles, this was not. This red rectangle was bold, unique, different, original, fearless, strong, opinionated, rebellious, daring and so was the juice inside. It said:”I don`t conform, I stand out from the crowd”. I can not possibly imagine Rush packaged in another bottle, the packaging and the scent fit like a glove. If you want different, this is for you. If you want common and familiar, this is not for you. This scent is mesmerising, the combination of peach, patchouli, white flowers, coriander and a dust of magic is heaven. Do I also need to mention the 24h longevity and sillage? It`s been nearly 20 years since its release and it is still ahead of its time. My wardrobe has expanded dramatically, I have sampled thousands of fragrances but nothing came close to RUSH. This is the fragrance I want to be remembered for, and if I had to be left with only one fragrance in this world and thereafter, so Rush would be. I can not put into words how much I love Rush. I simply bow to the masterpiece.
Hromoii – :
My first brush with this was in Vanity Fair in 1997. I found it to be one of the most unique scents at the time that I had ever sampled. That is saying allot. I immediately made it a point to always own it. It’s infusions left the imagination from the glamour of the runway or an extravagant evening, where for an instance. The moment of the scent can create a nostalgia that is unforgettable. This has always been a classic favorite of mine.
amadeya – :
Could be unique but it smells like hairspray to me. Meh 🙁
ko2627 – :
My mother has this one and smells amazing on her. I tried it but on my skin is too sweet and it gave me headache. But on her is amazing. She went to work an come home after 10 hours and scent is still there remaining strong like in morning with only three sprays.
Aerohoplenerinxk – :
I bought this at the Prague airport in duty free because it was deeply discounted. I didn’t even smell it. I just knew it had a reputation as being seductive and somewhat of a celebrity in the fumeworld. I wasn’t expecting to enjoy it as I veer away from overly fruity, hairspray like scents.
Wow, this fume has me spinning. It’s so, so, so good. Then I realized the nose behind this fume has some other department store favorites that I enjoy, that actually work with my skin chemistry.
This is pure lust, done in a very femme fatale kind of way. Normally the scents I associate with intimacy or femme fatale power have some kind of “dirty” vibe to them a la cumin, patchouli, oud, oily fumes, civet, honey, etc. I don’t associate sweet fruit, especially peaches with anything sexy. But here it’s blended so smoothly with woods, pepper and patchouli that it becomes elevated in a very sophisticated, sexy, come hither manner.
On me this scent doesn’t last very long so I tend to overspray. I’ve been wearing it daily and I’m starting to think I can’t smell it anymore. But, everyone around me can and this surely pumps out compliments. Beautiful!
Aerohoplenerilnd – :
One of my favorite fragrance, makes me always happy, warm and sweet but not like any other sweet scents, unique…
atljc – :
Someone at Gucci is a fan of well-crafted peach fragrances, Rush, Guilty, Accenti, Envy, Envy Me are all heavy with ripe peach.
Rush is a jumble of different notes that work together surprisingly well – sweet peach, peppery freesia, warm coriander, soapy jasmine, earthy vetiver and dirty patch. It’s quite a mix, but it works seamlessly. Rush is one of the perfumes Michel Almairac nosed when he was working frequently with fruit and spice and Rush shows that combination in full form.
Rush is a monster of longevity and sillage. This is a one spray wonder, and you probably want that spray to low on the body or under clothing. Rush can be room filling if it’s not delicately applied.
fstar2 – :
Gucci Rush is a great scent, it is aware of being a haircut fishing, an invented fishing, and revealing the pack and the bottle he wanted from Tom Ford. It is a great masterpiece of Almairac
Lordmen – :
If you like woody fruity bit sour mysterious scents then you’ll love this. I love it!
My friend in uni had this, and since we were in a country with very hot humid climate I thought she was crazy spraying this on her even tho I thought it smelled very daring and amazing. So years later I got a body mist, one of the cheap ones that you get from supermarkets and it smelled like Rush but of course I’d forgotten what Rush smelled like so I just thought it smelled familiar. I don’t think the body mist lasted on me much tho.
So anyway today after 5-6 years I received my Gucci Rush and I loved the packaging. So modern! and the “bottle” slid through it in my hand.
I just sprayed some… And for the first 5 mins I thought well I spent so much on something that was so easily copied by a cheap body mist. But… Omg nooo! WAIT… It’s getting better… I thought I smelled orange at first. I don’t know, maybe in my country orange smells like peach. Haha! But after 10 minutes I can smell peach, yeah. It’s not like an innocent blushing peach. As someone else mentioned in their review, it’s like a crazy on acid peach. You want to label it beautiful, but that’s not what it was made for. I’m sniffing it again now, it’s been 20 mins and yeah it’s a crazy party and nope, no one has ever been even close to copying this. I must have been crazy to think that at first!
It smells like a different hot woody peach. But peach only comes to mind cuz I’ve read other reviews here. I would have never thought it myself. I can’t name other notes tho. It’s well blended.
I love it. It’s like I’m in the closet that has a door to Narnia.
I can wear it to work even tho I have to sit close to people’s faces but I wanna save the feeling for special occasions and also don’t want people to associate this smell with my office cuz they’re scared of my profession and hate coming to me anyway. Lol.
Can tell the silage and longevity are great. Congratulations to me!
Edit: 6 hours later still going strong! Sillage hasn’t gone down either. This is a monster. Nothing lasts this long on me.
yda – :
I think Rush is a true classic by now. For a fragrance from the 90s it smells very modern, but there is also something nostalgic and cool about it. Today there are many perfumes that have a similar vibe, but nothing beats the original. I’d say Rush was ahead of its time.
So, this is absolutely a party perfume. I wear almost everything to work, but Rush is one of the few exceptions. To me it’s a loud and very sexy scent that has to be worn in a fitting mood and situation.
The scent itself is not easy to describe. It’s sweet and heavy with patchouli, peach, freesia and coriander as the most discernable notes to me, but it’s really well blended and more than the sum of its parts. It has something plasticy, not in a cheap but more in an artsy way, but also a musky or leathery edge that gives the perfume its sultry aura.
Rush is super strong and lasts through a night of partying and sometimes even through the following morning of sleeping, so spray with caution. While some say this makes it a winter scent, I disagree – this is no cuddly warm gourmand or spicy amber after all. Rush is also, and maybe even more so, great for summer evenings. There is something about it, maybe the fruity peach, that developes well in the warmth, and it matches that carefree, even vacation-like feeling warm summer nights sometimes have.
bubui – :
How is it possible I just discovered this? Where was this hiding? Absolutely gorgeous and one of the longest lasting perfumes I have. Signature scent material – no doubt. I can’t detect the peach ( that’s a good thing to me ), just a nice sweet scent that I can’t even compare to anything. Very very unique. I find smelling the air in my car as it lingers there all day and it stays on my clothing for more than 24 hours! Two tiny spritzes is what it takes. My new favorite. I’m totally hooked. If you don’t want your bottle, let me know and I’ll buy it.
derik5 – :
Wow, this one is great! I have never been a fan of peach in perfume and I particularly hate that really syrupy 90’s Peach. Rush however, will become my exception to the rule (no peach!) it’s also one of the better fruitchouli’s I have tried. While I love patchouli, the endless parade of sweet sticky fruit and patch scents that all kind of smell the same has become a huge bore. Rush, really stands out from the crowd, the gardenia and freesia blend so well together and with the peach and patchouli, the base notes lend an earthy/unisex vibe. it’s loud, fun, and unapologetic. I am also a huge VHS collector and have to say I love the bottle :p
The silage is pretty great, I will update later on longevity.
whoxjeleNeili – :
@LuxCollector :
Yes, the pure perfume comes in this red metallic bottle with a translucent red box.
Lipatov310 – :
I always forget about this one. I like this quite well. The rather bold red bottle may lead one to think that this is a powerhouse fragrance, and/or incredibly spicy; it is neither to me. To me this is rather soft, has a vintage scent to it, and reminds me of something my mom wore when I was a child. To me this is mainly about a soft white floral with the patchouli being the next note I pick up, I also pick up the coriander, and the vetiver rounds this out to give a Fall and a slight little woodsy/earthy vibe. The peach and rose notes are all but MIA here for me, I detect the peach and rose, only if sniffing my wrist hard. But all in all this is a lovely Fall scent (or anytime, really, but especially good in the Fall). Not at all overpowering like one might think.
It is different in that you won’t smell like every woman at the mall or coffee shop, yet pretty safe and inoffensive. Way more casual than the bottle looks. Dare I say, this is sort of a comforting scent to me. Nothing screeching or anything, the notes all playing nicely together.
Well done, a very strong like, almost a love for me. Moderate sillage and longevity. I really need to pull this one out more.
zssgtt – :
Never have I ever experienced sneezing with a perfume each time I’d spray it. 1 spritz would be enough to cause that, but I love it lol. I can proudly say owning 2 back up bottles of this juice is not a regret. It’s strong, it’s peachy, fuzzy & fruity. It also lasts ages! Which is a win win for me.
Longevity: 9 hours.
sams1k – :
One of the hardest things in the world was to buy perfume for the dearest. But I had so much faith in the fragrance and quality that I bought blindfolded as a gift to my dear wife. Its fragrance is so safe that I’ve seen some men too. A combination of peach and patchouli along with wheezes is a stylish, elegant, attractive fragrance with a very good smell and is one of the first choices for anyone to go to informal memorabilia. Be sure to ask your perfume for many times.

First smell it on my very close friend, whom an outspoken, open-minded, witty, and fierce person! She is the one can speak her mind without hesitate, a bit dominating but very fun to be with. This perfume really match with her personality…superb combination!

Gucci Rush is the fragrance equivalent of a proud ‘walk of shame’ and I love it! It smells like the bottle looks – hyper-bold lactonic peach, patch and vanilla. There’s nothing transparent about it. Rush actually suits Gucci’s fashion aesthetic well!
DrBuBu – :
On me Gucci Rush is so unusual, it shocked me when I first applied this fragrance. As several reviewers describe it: “Rush hits you in the face”. I just didn’t know what to think about it and I still don’t. It took several consequent tries to start – not comprehend this composition – but somehow strangely, maybe even obsessively savour and enjoy it without an ounce of understanding it. To describe it more visually – you would have to imagine someone rolling their eyes and shaking their head while pressing their nose on their wrist again and again and again and over again!
heksSlestedge – :
This was one of my big teenage crushes. It will allways remind me of young love and one of my very first boyfriends. I’ve groen out of it, and imagine it to chewy for the next generations young girls. A blast from the past, can close my eyes and se my first flat whenever I smell this.
1510791 – :
Rush is a real mind-f#%$ of a perfume. I think Turin or Sanchez mentions in their review that it took Tom Ford all of five seconds to give the formula the go-sign and who could blame him? This stuff smells phenomenal.
I never fully appreciated Rush until I smelled it on the friend of a friend one night. I barely spoke to her but woke up the next morning with a massive hangover and the remnants of an otherworldly neon smell lingering in my nose. I was ecstatic of course. Why does modern office politics underestimate the simple joy fragrance can bring to everyday life, not just on ourselves but on others too? I love seeing well-dressed strangers on the street and I’m similarly grateful when they care enough to leave a scent-trail behind.
If Rush was released today it would most likely include a fantasy plastic note because the pyramid does nothing to convey how completely weird and holographic this smells. The only notes I can identify are peach, patchouli, coriander and some vague woods – beyond that it’s a mystery, it’s like a fourth dimension.
de_gizard – :
Thick. Memorable. Sex in a bottle. I have received the most compliments on it, wearing it for over a decade. The only person that doesn’t care for it is my partner. They say it smells like coco and candy canes, and I can’t even hear about it. They like fruity florals, I prefer rich and haunting. Trying to find a compromise haha. But, if I were the last woman on earth, this would be it.
kiver – :
Notes wise, its a mix of patchouli, peach and coriander dominantly. Though I think as someone else said one of the best ways to describe it is as a woody plastic. The plastic note is really prominent. I hear a lot of people describe this as sexy and while yes I think classically it is, I like to be honest in my reviews in my opinion of course and note that it is very strong and probably polarizing. I haven’t ever gotten a compliment on it. I actually wouldn’t recomemnd it for a date or to meet a guy personally. I think your female friends are more likely to enjoy it than males. But again just my opinion and experiences. I think it is a great party perfume though and smells like a lot of fun. I wear it a lot and am currently waiting for the summer version to arrive which is exciting.
RenasGK – :
There are some pearls in perfumery that are only waiting to be discovered. Rush is one of them. Although it is not an attractive package from the outside, it does not steal your eyes, the content is like the honey of the gods. You don’t know what to expect.
Its opening smells like a mixture of freesia and peach. An opulent smell that awakens all your senses. Then a shy coriander note appears like a glow in the night. It is like freesia is a carnivorous plant that swallows the spices that would try to escape. Like a dance between those two.
The sweetness of vanilla goes parallel to the floral fruity odor and remains like this till the end. Lasting power is outrageous. Applied in the morning you can still smell it in the evening. It maintains the same power of seduction as the forbidden fruit.
This fragrance is not for everyone. A shy person will not be able to wear it because it will turn all the nose around and wake up all the senses. Is a perfume that says: look at me, did you see me?
If you are a person that sometimes wants to feel noticed, if you like the feeling given by the power of seduction it is a perfume for you. It would be good for this fragrance to exist in the wardrobe of all women because sometimes we all want to be noticed.

Does anyone own the special 1999 Milennium Limited edition metallic red bottle that came inside a transluscent acrylic sleeve? I have seen two versions of this, one in clear acrylic and the other one in a red transluscent acrylic sleeve. Does anyone know if the parfum .5 oz came in one of these metallic bottles and acrylic sleeves, or if it was only the limited edition for the turn of the century in 1999?
