I love my Gucci Sport! I adore the smell of cypress. This fragrance is fresh, spicy, light, and sexy. It smells so herbal. 10/10.

The opening & the first stage are very similar (95%) with
     Dilis Parfum Atlantica Odyssey
Benetton United Dreams Men Aim High
Grapefruit is the leader for some time. Then it changes a little with the addition of something slightly aquatic-aromatic. I’m not a big fan of this vibe. Maybe it is an effect from the cypress/fig/juniper combo. The performance is average, good.
    Verdict.
Safe masculine scent suitable for summer daytime, for the fragheads may be a little mediocre, generic and mass appealing. I like it I can wear it but it’s nothing special.

This is an inoffensive fresh scent. Great for the office or casual wear. It is not metallic or aquatic like most Sport scents. It is a bright green smooth and slightly woody scent. I can smell it through an entire work day. It just gives you a small scent bubble and won’t offend anyone.

Gucci Sport is definitely one of the best sport fragrances of all time in my opinion. The fragrance centers around vivid evergreens instead of aquatics or marine notes—and the execution here is absolutely perfect! Gucci Sport is the brightest green I’ve ever experience in a fragrance. Sweet, vibrant, and juicy—to the most amazingly stylish extents possible!
The aroma would be best described as a green aquatic—or a fresh green aromatic. The fragrance is ultrapotent, with dynamic evergreen pines, heavily sweetened by the presence of fig and juniper berries (which project something like the presence of a sweet plum—and are what provide the aquatic feel to me).
The collective scent is ultra-fresh and very awakening! When the heat kicks up, the brightness of the notes just seems to breathe life right back into you. Just the most absolute perfect effect for a sport fragrance to have. I dread going asnomic and not being able to smell this anymore—or have its effect for the summer.
Gucci Sport is a perfect sport fragrance to the core. If you’re looking for a legendary sport experience, get yourself some of this and take it out in the heat where it really shines.

If you want a cheaper alternative to Gucci by Gucci Sport, enter: Jaguar “Vision.” They smell almost identical to my nose, despite the listing of quite different notes.

I’m soo used to cool and aquatic smells that this one comes off warm to me, BUT it smells soooo fricken good!! I got a sample of it and bought a bottle from Amazon the very same day the sample arrived!! To me its soo unique! Ive never smelled this before but MAN ITS GOOD!!! And the longevity seems to be 10/10 compared to my other colognes. I put this on at night and 7 hours later when I awake, it still smells great and is noticeably there. 10/10 for me! One of my new signature scents

I’ve got an old (original) formulation which has “Gucci by Gucci Pour Homme Sport” inscription on a bottle instead of a modern “Gucci Pour Homme Sport” and I must admit that this fragrance is a masterpiece!
It has an amazing quality of all of the ingredients which you can feel right from the first spray.
This first initial blast of the citruces combined with herbs and some fruity nuances (I’m sure it’s a fig working here!) brings you immediately into a special summer mood. These top notes of the fragrance are to die for! The fig note with junipper berries come into play after a couple of minutes and you get somewhat a citrucy-fruity vibe. After a while the woods start to kick in and towards the end you smell more and more woody waves of the fragrance though “wood” isn’t listed in the note’s breakdown.
All in all this is a very underrated summer fragrance that was created specially for a casual wear, in my opinion.
As always, the commercial is spot on.
The sillage is moderate which is a nice thing because you and those who around you will enjoy catching subtle whiffs of the fragrance from time to time.
The longevity is pretty decent. Eight to ten hours on a skin with six hours of a light projection.
If you like to relax in a pool with friends (and hot girls!) during the summertime with refreshing cocktail in your hand then this fragrance is a must-have for you! 🙂

Minty, sporty, feel good kind of perfume, very casual
    Recommend it.

  17. :

I bought this and am thoroughly disappointed. To me it smells minty but not in a good way; like bitter mint, if such a thing exists. It smells like argugula tastes: bitter and unpleasant. It also smells almost like it has menthol or eucalyptus in it, similar to Vicks vaporub. I honestly hope I bought a defective bottle, or that it somehow went bad, because I cannot imagine a prestigious company putting out something that smells so unpleasantly medicinal.

Why all the hate for this fragrance? I’m guessing it flopped in the US as I just picked up a bottle at Delhi duty free for about $20. (Fragrances that don’t do well in the US usually end up in 3rd world duty free shops.)
I rather like this on my husband. It’s a freshie but there’s not much particularly sporty about it other the usual opening grapefruit/citrus blast. If this were named “Mediterraneo,” “Pyrgos,” “Capri,” or some other posh mediterranean location it would have probably not flopped in the West. I love the green fig, cardamom, and ambrette accord that this dries down to on my husband and it lingers for a good 6-7 hours. It is rather simple in composition (as have been most of the newer Guccis) but it is very tasteful, elegant, and not cheap smelling at all. The vetiver, juniper berries, and cypress augment this dry, arid, yet herbaceous mediterranean garden feel. This fragrance really blooms on him in the late Summer heat and humidity of the Monsoon but retains it’s elegance and freshness all the while. (And it’s really hard to find any fragrance that can hold it’s own in the blasting Delhi heat and sweltering humidity.) Very Italian without going powdery, overly spicy, or over the top with bombast. Very clean, very green, very crisp, very masculine, very natural, very fresh, sort of like a finely tailored and freshly pressed linen suit. Suitable for any age, office appropriate without being completely boring, and certain not to offend but definitely masculine. I’m putting this in hubby’s Summer rotation with his other ‘natural freshies’ that he loves – Mugler, Gendarme, Creed’s Original Vetiver, Lush Dirty, Hermes Concentree d’Orange Verte, & TF Grey Vetiver. I think Gucci Sport’s a bargain!

I got a sample of this one, upon first sniff I thought it smelled nearly identical to Bvlgari’s Aqua Amara. Since I have a full bottle of Aqva Amara I put them to the test, side by side. Both freshly sprayed, smelled from first spray to dry-down.
Gotta say, these two are remarkably similar. Amara has that distinct “wet dog” smell to it, while Gucci Sport is more “green”, but both share the same backbone DNA of a strong juniper bush smell (juniper is not listed as a note for Amara, but it most certainly has the note in a large quantity — It’s the most dominant smell to my nose).
Since Gucci Sport was released first, gotta hand it them for the originality of this specific scent character. But Amara has the edge in performance by a HUGE degree. Amara is one of the best performing fragrances I own, and with that said Gucci Sport dies off very quickly in comparison, as when it is nearly un-smellable Amara is still kicking with a vengeance.
I would say Gucci Sport and Aqva Amara are 80-90% similar in smell. Gucci Sport is basically Aqva Amara minus the wet dog smell. And don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love Amara, despite that strange note. Probably the best performing summertime fragrance I own.

    This is like a cross between Issey Miyake’s L’Eau d’Issey &
Burberry Brit. I get the Sharp Citrus top notes of L’Eau d’Issey
infused with the Piney/Green vibe of Burberry Brit.
This would work exceptionally well in the Spring as this is
a uniquely Green fresh scent… My only knock on Gucci Sport
is the Price… However, I was able to buy a Tester w/ the
Heavy Steel Gucci Cap for $32 & I Love It!!!

good scent, fresh as usual sporty frags but very poor in the longevity department.. will never buy this again . for this price I would go for prada luna rosa.

I did not love this one. Very little sillage and a short longevity, maybe 3 hours. It starts out with a strong citrus and pine flavor and dries down to a soapy scent. You need to reapply several times during the day or just skip it altogether.

This perfume is just watered down Galbanum witch in 100% concentration smells very dark and green, you can also find this Galbanum note in Dirty English but there it is in marginal amounts

I bought this when I was on a Gucci buzz and believed that Gucci could do no wrong. I needed a fresher summer fragrance as an alternative to my favorite Envy for Men. I remember this as a nice, fresh, citrus scent perfect for summer days (I don’t recall a fig note). However it was not memorable or exciting enough for me to buy again after using up two bottles. I remember the bottle looking completely different: It was like an oblong block with spray nozzle. I also had the deodorant stick.

i still can’t believe that this fragrance labeled by Gucci name, blind buy this and i got metallic cheap cologne, okay the top note is fresh but after that just horrible, smells like rotten wood or metalic citrus ( i don’t know how to describe that)..i use this on daily activities (yes, no compliment) because i already buy it, but if you ask me is it worth money?it’s pass for me, sorry Gucci..4.5/10

starting green and fruity somehow similar to Dav. goodlife but then it turns into a fresh woody like TF grey vetiver, and at the end voila there is the sweet cardamom!

Just to clear up the confusion that comes from 50% really good and 50% horribly bad reviews, very simply put:
    Fragrance: 9/10
    Longetivity: 0/10 (ZERO).
What are all the good reviews on about then? Well, two things you need to know in order to understand that:
    1. it is a magnificant scent, a near spot-on combination of fresh/sporty and sophisticated. this is really not a boring sporty/fresh out of shower scent, it goes way beyond that with warm almost cuddly tones and still balances up to be a dynamic, attractive and outstanding scent that is on the “fresh” side after all. the only reason why its not 10/10, is because despite aiming to be natural, they probably short-changed us with the quality of the ingridients, and the result end up a tad too much on the syntetic side.
    2. the people who focus on the scent, and only on scent, are not ordinary people, they are blessed with 1 in a 100 (or even 1 in a 1000) sense of smelling, they are parfum experts, collectors, enthusiasts…they just do 1 spray in the air, walk thru it, and thats it, they can smell it hours later, they can detect notes without a failure..in other words, their opinions are interesting but completely 100% irrelevant when it comes to everyday people and everyday use of a parfum.
So whats with the longitivty then:
Well, there are parfums with poor longetivty, and then there is this. After owning and testing 100s of parfums, I can honestly say nothing ever came so close to having ZERO (Z-E-R-O) longetivity than this.
My shampoo, my shower gel, my handwash has far better longetivity than this. It simply disapears as soon as it comes in contact with air.
I know you can bargain hunt for basically any parfum and be succesful, but for most people who dont have time/talent/interest in bargain hunting, this parfum will cost a lot, the 90ml bottle I own was 80 euro, and I bought it in an parfum outlet (perfectly reputable place, just not high street), places like Dougles will charge you 100+ for this. I was excited to buy it, went to bed, woke up early, took a shower, applied it generously (2-2x spray under the armpits, 1-1 on the wrist to work it in under the ears and 1 on the hair)…All my clothes were freshly washed, and after dressing up, all I could smell was the color softener coming from the clothes….Great. I still couldnt believe that this is it for 80 euro. I undid the buttons on my shirt, and went proper crazy with it, 5-6x sprays under each armpit, 2-3 on each wrists, and another 5-6 just randomly on hair and jeans and chest and everywhere. By the time I put on my jacket, I could smell precisely NOTHING of it.
    Conclusion:
Please note that Id in no way call myself a parfum expert, but I own at any given time 20+ (sometimes 40+) parfums, I have a bit above avrage interest in parfums, and a bit above avrage nose for them. I highly recommend you to never, I repeat NEVER under any circumtances buy this parfum. It has zero real-life value. What can you use a parfum that nobody smells for? Wait to meet that 1 in a 1000 exraordinary person who will smell it? You far better off putting 80 euro on red 36 on a roulette table, at least something might come out of that. (well actually, dont do that either, just spend your money on a parfum that you and others can smell and appreciate:)

I think this is an elegant composition for not-too-hot summer days at business. It’s fresh and green while avoiding the indetermination that is so typical for most fragrances that carry the term “sport”. There are pleasent undertones present here, although it’s difficult identifying them. Nevertheless, a good alternative to Truth, which seems a bit dated nowadays.
Conclusion: If you are looking for an unintrusive and light, yet elegant summer scent, you probably won’t find any better.
    ****

Very cool scent, speacially after 4 or 5 hours… =D

  34. :

    5 out of 5

Quite unique, green scent with a hint of fruity-zesty freshness. Dominant notes are cypress and juniper-fig, a sweet cardamom seems to be in the background. The citrus note also is discreet, just like the base notes, which only improves the main character of this composition.
For few hours after application it is very strong but in a very pleasant way. After that (about hour) it rapidly loses it’s strength and become a skin scent, however it is easly recognisable. It certainly doesn’t remind of anything alike.
Closest imagination: it feels like green, young stems of aromatic trees were twisted together and refreshing liquid leaks on your skin. Not everyone likes that, but it feels very natural.
I agree with opinions that 100 ml flacon is not sporty at all, however it is very elegant.
I was sceptical because of many negative reviews, but now I find it actually as a very good fragrance on person, not necessarily on paper-blot.

Picked this fragrance up on ebay about a year or two ago for a very low price, a blind buy. And, for the price, I got a decent scent (it certainly isn’t unpleasant). I had never had the pleasure of fig in a scent before and, although it is nothing ‘special’, I enjoyed it.
The things that let this down, and I’m aware I’m echoing many reviewers before me, are the longevity and silage, i.e. that are virtually non-existent! Seems to be a common trait among Gucci fragrances – sort it out please.

  40. :

    3 out of 5

Even though I do think Gucci Sport has a fresh, clean, just out of the shower scent, I have to say that the longevity is absolutely shocking. In fact, there IS no longevity. Even if my husband sprays this twenty times, I still can’t smell it when I’m next to him. This must be the most watered down rubbish I’ve ever known. Will never buy again.

A total bore of a scent. Poor performance and smell. Some citrus, some fig and some vetiver that lasts 2 hours tops. I still have some of my 8 ml mini. I will give it away soon as I have no intent to wear it.

When I’m out in the wilderness I love to poach cutthroat trout in foil over the coals with a handful of herbs thrown over them including thyme, oregano and citrus peels. Where is this going, you ask? Well after the immediate opening notes I was bowled over by the delicate herbal smell of opening the foil and admiring my poached cutthroat trout. They are not ‘fishy’ by the way- just a delicate dry trout smell. None of those herbs are listed in the notes besides the citrus but the olfactory resemblance was remarkable. Would I wear this? Hell no! But I’m amazed that that smell was reproduced.

I feel like this fantastic scent is ruined with the name sport. If they had given it a totally different and unique name this smell would definitely ve more appealing to the fragrance enthusiastics. This opens with a little soapy smell with the mandarin and figs making it more sweeter and juicy. I can honestly say that I’ve never smelled anything quite like this! This is perfect for the summer and especially for spring. I feel like this could do very well on a chilly or even on a rainy day.

Here’s one not worth the discount price. What a bore!! I actually like Gucci pour homme. This is not exactly original, rather cheap smelling and can easily get lost among the multitude of citrusy “sport” frangrances out there. No it’s not like Dior Homme Sport – the powdery quality is missing (not to mention the elegance). Disappointed!

While I agree Gucci had had a couple of stinkers in the last generation of Fragrances Post-Tom Ford, this is not one of them. In fact, I had to scroll down about 20-25 reviews deep before any one even mentioned how deeply mentholated this one is. I can’t imagine anyone calling this boring or generic. Have these people even spent any time with the fragrance? Anyways , this is deeply resinous, green, stingingly woody (Cypress,Vetiver, Juniper berrires, and Patchouli). Very Mediterannean and not at all “Sporty”or aquatic in the sense that Cool Water or most other Sport flankers turn out. Very interesting and Unique fragrance whether you like it or not. Same with Guilty Intense. You can hate it (I’m actually not a fan of the guilty line)but its not boring so please stop making that easy complaint and be fair with these releases.

Mixed feelings about this one. I have tested it many times in the store before buying it. And now I have bought it, it’s nice, but not great.
Light, sweet, fresh fragrance. The topnotes are a bit chemical (as in: not natural). The basenotes are a little too sweet. I would have liked some more spiciness and masculinity (is that a word?).
I still do like the main note (fuity, marine), though.
Lasting power is regular, nothing special.

On a test strip I liked the top notes enough to have a go on my skin. Funny how it immediately turned generic and faceless. The dry down especially was a confused jumble which ironically justified its lack of longevity. Nice bottle though.

In general, I would agree with all criticisms of poor sillage and longevity. However, as a fragrance, it has a quite a good scent. While poor longevity is definitely a problem, it is a good sport scent.

I bought this perfume on saturday, what a waste of my money, the longevity is soooooooooooooooooo poor, it doesn´t last more than 1 hour in my skin, the smell is nice but pay $70 for an hour, uhhhhhmmmmm total dissapointment 🙁

This cologne would be an incredible cologne….if it projected something.
It really felt like date cologne, fresh but with character, and the duration is not bad.
However, sillage sits at skin, this is not good in the average sillage by todays standards.
I actually tried overspraying on purpose, 6 sports on the skin, 10 on clothes.
Got no reaction whatsoever from anyone.

Pfew! Normally I insist upon wearing something long enough to dry down to the base notes, but I couldn’t get past those cheap, pungent top notes. A scrubber.

It’s a pleasant citrus fragrance, and very suitable for the warm weather months. I will buy it once it hits the ubiquitous discount stores like Ross for more than 1/3 off the full price.

Wore this to the gym today. It projected well through the hour I was there, and handily survived the outpouring of sweat from my arms and neck. This frag gets ragged on for poor sillage, but for someone with more oily or moisturized skin, it’s really not so bad. Got a respectable ~4 hours of moderate sillage with it (again, with sweaty skin and hand-washing). It lasted 8+ as sillage tapered off.
I will say that I’ve never seen a frag get sticky once it dries on the bottle. It seems to leave some kind of thin filmy residue. I’ll defer to anyone else who might care to explain what that’s all about.
For all its supposed faults, this will probably be one of my mainstays in hot, nasty, humid summer days. Sometimes you just like what you like.

i was gifted this pefume by a friend of mine. I acppeted this happily given the fact that it was heavily advertised on T.V. But to me, this was an utter disappointment. The scent is generic and boring. Sweet and synthetic to my nose. The sillage is weak and the longetivity is the poorest of all the perfumes i’ve used. Not even a full hour.
I used this in hot weather, plus my skin is oily (perfume friendly). This fragrance sucks big time! Shame on Gucci!

It’s nice, but not worth the price in my opinion. The grapefruit is great right off the bat, but it just gets weaker and weaker until it’s basically a skin scent in an hour or 2. Good for the beach or a physical activity in the summer, but that’s about it. Smells nice, but I think there are much better options out there.

Generic sport fragrance, just much harsher on the citrus on the opening. The drydown is kinda sickeningly sweet fruity/citrus

“A blind buy” di Surabaya , seperti tanaman obat yang segar , dominan asam sedikit manis satu type dengan Versace Versense tetapi lebih maskulin . Bernuansa di kepulauan kecil dengan tumbuhan sejenis ilalang yang tertiup angin , menyegarkan . Cocok untuk acara santai baik siang atau malam . Hati2 dengan parfum yang expired !

Wearing this scent for days now I have to admit I’m disappointed.
This is a scent which is not more complex or sophisticated than a shampoo or showergel, or a fabric softener. It’s light, fruity, simple, nothing extraordinary, furthermore it’s so ordinary that smelling it on myself feels like it’s only the scent of my fabric softener but not a “perfume”.
Now I’m really confused about contemporary perfume industry.
If I buy a perfume (even a sport one), I want to have a perfume scent and not a fragrance like a shampoo.

It’s a nice, discreet fruity scent, not that much sporty in my opinion because it’s not that fresh but rather quiet and subtle.
I must say this is one of the worst sport fragrance bottle! It’s impossible to bring with you to the gym or anywhere else since it’s way too heavy and big!
Along with Dior Homme Sport and The One Sport, Gucci Sport bottle has an awful bottle design regarding its “sporty feature”…
I wonder if those who design ever think about it how people would use the fragrance in practice?

It was recently bought for me from the Harrods sale in a Gift set( Shower gel, After Shave Balm and 50ml eau de toilette).
It reminds me of Celine – Celine Homme.
    Its quite Fresh. .
I would certainly not have purchased it myself though.

i got a chance to sample this about a year back and did so again recently, i must say i love the fragrance, it invokes a fresh but powerful sweetness, it would be a completely enjoyable fragrance, my only negative remark is that it doesnt last as long as id like it to, sadly it died out after 4-5 hours, but considering it is a sport frag we can let that slide no? i say this is definitely a try or buy, and touching the “design” aspect, i think the bottle is brilliantly designed and the juice has a lovely fresh color (i like it better than the original )

For a sport frag this is quite remarkable since is fresh and elegant at the same time. Fruity, green, fig smell with an amazing 10 hrs. longevity and very good projection for the first 5 hrs. Not bad for a sport frag.
