I have the vintage PDT; so, maybe the top has gone off but it was unopened. To me this is a very deep, rich, woody chypre but not bitter oakmoss, just rich. The florals and spices temper the wood, but it is all about the woods. A heavy scent. Not spicy like Rumba or Opium, etc. But richer and heavier than most chypres. There must be civet or musk in here. This is NOT powdery at all.

To me this is a true beauty! Imagine the opening like a bouquet of flowers that’s too big to hold in your arms, you’re surrounded by them. They all compliment each other, the balance and harmony is excellent. It’s a warm and soft breeze that dances under your nose and then the powdery sweetness to top it all off.
The whole day the scent is dancing, it’s not a linear straight scent, neither a chancing scent but it moves. I absolutely love this one. And with the right amount of romantic vibes I couldn’t have picked a better day then today (valentine) to meet Golden Drop.

Once I had to Magie Noire Lancome perfumes. I had no idea that they chypre, I was sure that the oriental. Decades later unsuccessfully sought the warmth and softness in spetsievost vintage EDT MN(pure perfume did not come). And was surprised to find that same sound in Golden Drop. Took blindly expecting just powdery scent. And it turned out that perfume is much more complicated, multi-faceted, interesting! I’m sure there are many more components ! Feel and honey, and slightly slightly dried peaches, and various flowers. Powder as such do not feel, but eventually relaxed flavor – maybe this is it…
Real French perfume…
