Description
Was there ever a thing more English than a good old gin and tonic? Dab on a drop of this fabulous extrait – not a cologne, by the way, despite the name, this is actually a highly concentrated pure perfume – and find yourself whisked away to the front row seats at Wimbledon, where you are watching Andy Murray winning effortlessly against Novak Djokovic. It is a warm, sunny day, and you are dressed in cool white linen. At one side, an ice-cold gin & tonic rests, sweating beads of moisture, at the other, a plate of delicate cucumber sandwiches – no crusts please.
This fragrance is a time capsule of these classic English traditions. The opening is as refreshing as taking a long sip of that ice-cold G&T – teeming with peppery citrus and the gin-like juniper berry, it fairly explodes out of the bottle like a freshly opened bottle of Schweppes Indian Tonic. If you are not already shivering with the pleasure of anticipation, see a doctor. The heart of Gin & Tonic Cologne shimmers with zesty, bitter aromatics like lemon and grapefruit peel and juniper berry, but there is also a cool, watery tone floating through the heart, adding a gentle freshness. This is the cucumber note – slightly aquatic, clean, and cool. Breathe it in and imagine the expanse of green grass and summer whites. In the base, a stunning note of white ambergris weaves through a mélange of light cedar wood, vetiver, and incense, bringing with it a refined, mysterious marine woodiness, like ancient driftwood bleached white by decades of sun and sand. Wearing this fragrance on a hot summer’s day is a salve to the soul. It is also uniquely British.
Gin and Tonic Cologne by Art de Parfum is a Citrus fragrance for women and men. This is a new fragrance. Gin and Tonic Cologne was launched in 2016. Top notes are juniper berries, grapefruit, lemon zest and cucumber; middle note is gin; base notes are ambergris, cedar, vetiver, white musk and incense.

A cocktail even a teetotaller like me can love- but a pretty sharp smack in the nose, too. It definitely doesn’t reek of alcohol or make you smell like a sodden drunk; but the really herbal, astringent, juniper note leaves you in no doubt at all about what it’s evoking. Almost bitter – that’ll be the quinine of the soda, or whatever’s mimicking it here – and not gentle about it, yet still seriously intensely refreshing on the hottest day. I don’t know how much it would appeal at lower temperatures, but if you’re looking for a scent to focus the mind and make you feel crisp, cool and collected in warm weather this would absolutely do that ( just like ONE G&T in beverage form, but not bamboozled like more booze would.) Longevity is medium, and while this is absolutely wearable by women it does seem to skew unisex-male IMHO. In a single word: zinggggg!

The best way I can describe the initial scent is ‘astringent.’ Many of the notes of gin are there, particularly the juniper. But, its almost a deconstructed gin – – the scents of gin without the liquor.
Then, it turns into a true gin & tonic. This is not a soft juniper, but a London Dry. This isn’t a soft gin, but a London Dry – – think Beefeater or Bombay Sapphire rather than Hendricks or an Old Tom. Whether you like it or not depends on your gin preference. I prefer Plymouths, but I never say no to the “Drys.”
The final push seems to be lurking all along. I smell the dryness of cedar, a nice complement to the juniper. I don’t generally like the cedar scent used in most of the fragrances I have sampled; the cedar I am used to is far less sharp than the cedar scent fragrances seem to use. Here, though, it fits.
Overall, I go back and forth on this fragrance. I like it, but the booze is strong. I would wear it at a bar, but I rarely frequent them. I would not wear it at work for fear of someone thinking I am drunk.

Great fragrance for those hot summer days. Crisp and clean.

Gin and tonic cologne is a refreshing juniper centered summer scent. The initial contribution by the grapefruit i think is an important part of the summery freshness in the opening chord.
With time the scent turns soft, woody and animalic but for many hours still with a touch of juniper. The dry down is really warm and friendly but skin close.
For the first hours Gin and tonic cologne is a successful interpretation of it’s name and maybe that is also the one problem with it. I really like this cologne but I’m not sure at what occasions I actually want to go around smelling like a well-known liquor drink.

Gin And Tonic would fit most within a citrus gap of a collection, but still its Cologne aroma does not remind me the style of luxury that has been practiced by brands like Xerjoff or Tom Ford. Gin And Tonic fits the drink theme into a transparent and refreshing woody structure, seeking to make a lasting, hyper-realistic reproduction of the contrast between bergamot and juniper. This gives the perfume an interesting citrus scent, something that is refreshing, dry, slightly spicy and bitter at the same time. The coolness of Gin And Tonic slowly turns into a soft base where musks and the clean, slightly salty and amber touch of the ambroxan juxtapose themselves to a woody, lightweight vetiver accord. Of all the creations of the brand, it is the most delicate and altough being an extract it benefits from a more generous application, which extends its fixation and its most refreshing part in the skin.

No one seems to have noticed… but it smells very similar to Still Life by Olfactive Studio. On pure price point, it’s the same price to buy a 100ml bottle of Still Life, for the same cost of 50ml of this. I prefer the smell of Still Life! It’s simple, nice, clean and fresh.. Still Life has a bit more life and sparkle to it.

It is worth trying indeed, but dont commit to buying it unless you try first.
To me it smells of cucumbers the most, lemon, and gin, as simple as that.
Moderate sillage and ok longevity, I cant smell it after 3 hours.
It delivers what it says…. gin and tonic
6/10

Absolutely superb. Worth trying even if you’re not usually a gin- scent fan. This is beautiful for the summer and the drydown is full of earthy vetiver and musk. Heaven!
