I will be forever grateful for the person who helped me discover this one. She has introduced me to the scent by describing it as “the most violet-y one you can get”.
At it’s beginning, Geste is tender and see-trough on me. I smell violets and mornings of spring somewhere by the forest, it’s inviting and comforting at the same time.
Then, after a little while, it grows into a warmer, even more cozy scent. It caresses the skin, encloses it in some kind of balm, very pure and natural.
While others say they smell simplicity, I smell complexity and changing music of notes in it. All in all, Geste is beautiful.

This one could be a fine one, the combination of violets, resin, amber, and cosmetic powder are giving an exotic essence. As it calms down (around 3 minutes) is goes fully towards the powder note & sensual floral essence with resin on the background.
So far this is the only one (besides Bosque) that i think deserve to be taken into their consideration although it’s longevity is quite weak. Few more from this house needs to be tested.

Given the glorious reviews “Geste” has I was coming for something a bit more.
I like the idea of the scent itself – a mature woman in love with a young man, nice story.
For me “Geste” doesn’t work as good as I hoped it would. Others have already claimed the “soapy, salty weird scent” – it really dominates on me, making this almost unbearable, it has some sort of weird milky feel to it and at some points it resembles even the dreadful Secretions by ELdO.
This morning when I picked out the sample for today I was really hoping this would turn out to be a good expierence, but unfortunately I can’t get past the weird salty/milky scent. Maybe it’s just me.
On the other hand – fantastic longevity.

Very interesting smell. It smells differently in the different countries on my skin. Its reminding of Pine Cone and whiskey first hour but then blends in smth sweet worm and spicy. Specially made for winter i think!

One of the best niches I have ever come across, so simple yet so beautiful. Main note is violet but not a candied violet a soft one warmed up by the amber. The musk gives it an intimate, cosy final touch.Beautiful.

On a quest for a new amber scent in my perfume wardrobe I recently selected three scents as my favourite ambers. Geste by Humiecki & Graef is my number two on this list. Today I am trying Geste for the second time. I totally agree with the review below by SculptureOfSoul, it’s simple and beautiful. Allthough it is a modern, light ambery smell it is not watery at all. Contents are violets, Iris, amber and musk. It is very subtle, clean, and oriental. One thing I am not sure about, considering the price of this perfume, is the sillage.

Geste by Humiecki & Graef.
Yes, this is one of the best “white smelling” scents I’ve ever come across. A celestial violet amidst the most authentic clean laundry smell – one that manages to forego the chemical smell of most ‘clean laundry accords’ but instead captures the softness and warmth of clothing pulled fresh from the dryer. There is a resinous hint, too, that persists and offers a crisp counterpoint. Not quite the smell of starch – more like spa salts.
Another amazing thing about Geste is how well it blends into one’s skin. It is one of those perfumes where it does not feel like you are wearing a scent but rather gives the impression that this is how your skin naturally smells.
While I feel that Cologne Pour Le Matin, Bulgari Man, and Sartorial are great white shirt scents, none of them seem to become one with the wearer as does Geste, and I think that reason alone would warrant its inclusion in one’s wardrobe alongside any of the aforementioned.
Geste. Simple and beautiful minimalism.
