When I stand under the Palm Springs sun in late August, I would ditch the shades and shadows, and reach for this bottle of gem. Yes, It’s that refreshing; like cucumber water and kumquat popsicle. I think a man with enough confidence can definitely pull this one off.

For me it’s Mint, and Starfruit.
The best amongst my wife perfume.
What I like:
Soft, subtle, soothing, calm smell.
But..
Interestingly it has enormous sillage. And very long lastong longevity.
What i didn’t like:
I would like to have it. But I can’t since it’s very feminine.

I bought the Galimard 6x15ml bottle set and all six of my choices were blind. Four of them I discounted straight away as not my taste but Galimard Star was one of the two worth mentioning, the other being Canaica.
The secret of the Star is in its base. in fact it should be renamed Rising Star because at first application it barely tickles your interest but after a short while its beauty begins to rise. I loved it and it is a comforting unoffensive perfume with a feel good effect. A pleasure to wear.

Galimard Star is not your typical fruity floral. The fruity part is timid and dominated by the flowery part, where I mostly recognize lotus (ylang-ylang being a not so familiar individual note).
The final drydown is like heaven: such a cozy scent of sandalwood, Cashmerean wood, vanilla and musk!

I had never tried any of the Galimards before and didn’t know what to expect. My 15ml sampler pack has been quite delightful to try. Galimard Star is exactly my sort of cup of tea: comforting, warm, cosy, powdery, oriental and exquisitely french. The dry down in particular is lovely and unique. It is long lasting, and you get whiffs of it throughout the day which remind me of a cashmere silk wrap or chiffon.
