Oh my God, I am so cross with myself, I can’t believe I was so disparaging about this scent. It had even been relegated to the toilet to be an air freshener for a short spell.
I was wrong. Horribly, stupidly, wrong. It’s because I hate melon in perfumes, you see. And pineapple. And grapefruit is my ultimate arch nemesis. I also struggle with peony, orchid and ginger is never quite captured properly is it? I tend to avoid that one for that reason. So, you know, I pretty much hate every note in this damn thing.
But. But it works. IT’s a really good fruity floral. Clean, your-skin-but-better scent. Someone way before me said it smells like a botanical garden on a misty day and I think that is spot on. It smells classy and like quality. I can’t believe how much my perception of it has changed when I spritzed it on today after I found it in the back of a cupboard. I can’t believe I wasted so much of it last year in the damn bog.

I was in a perfume shop few years ago around Xmas and I remember this being on offer, I tested it and left the shop busy hunting for gifts, and a few hours later I sniffed my wrist and oh my gosh..I think this is a scent that I should have bought at that point, just couldn`t stop sniffing it afterwards! It didn`t last too long, and I couldn`t make out notes but I remember that it was distinctly fruity yet not sweet and prominent violet- which I love – I could see this being a good choice for the spring and summer and it probably lasts longer in warm weather, so now is the time to get a bottle and try again!

I grabbed this blind buy online for a terrific price without didn’t knowing exactly what to expect based on the very mixed reviews. On my skin, this is a really lovely floral. I’m not smelling any of the fruits at all and only a slight sandalwood hint at the very end. It has better lasting power for me than most other fragrances have for me, so that’s a happy bonus. There are so many negative reviews on this scent that I truly love. So strange how frags can smell so very different on different skin/chemistry as well as in different weather conditions. I would definitely recommend this beauty to any lady who truly enjoys very floral scents. If you love florals as much as I do, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

On my skin the grapefruit is very dominant. The first spray screams so sharp it reminds me of the Elnett hairspray my mother used a long time ago. The drydown is smooth but the bitter grapefruit stays. I tried to wash it of, but without succes. Nothing wrong with the quality. But definitely not for me.

Very cheap and cheap it smells. I got it for a fiver and tbh I think I still wasted my money. It just a vague perfumey non-descript smell, very faint and bland. The listed notes sounded great, Orchid, peony, pineapple.. where are they? This is like Diamonds and Rubies has dried down to nearly nothing, it’s that sort of smell, but faint. Was this lovely once and has been reformulated to this little ghost? Pointless.

I find it very similar to addict 2014 edt. The quality, though, is not the same, To me this fragrance smells cheap, is not well blended and smelling it makes me feel dizzy. After this and Wings, I am never again buying any Griorgio fragrance other then Giorgio for men and women and red for men. Very disappointed. It does smell nice, though, but apparently it is as harmful to my health as any one pound dupe from a discount store. And although I usually do not think that the price is a reliable indicator of the fragrance you buy, in this case I would say that you get what you pay for if I did not think that even 10 pounds is too much for this.

What a wonderful summer perfume! At first, it reminded me of Giorgio Blue – this sensation remains with me all the time – but soon the floral/fruity side emerged as well. Much as it IS similar to Blue, it does have a personality of its own. While Blue is a typical sunny/sea breeze type of perfume, G is more of a “seaside garden” kind of scent. It reminds me of a cloudy and misty day in a bothanical garden by the Atlantic coast in Morocco. Amazing!!!

What a glorious perfume!!! Many months ago I tested Giorgio, and hated it, (yuk! sickly!) and because where I shop didn’t have anything else by Giorgio Beverly Hills, I couldn’t find out whether I liked any of their other perfumes. Well, suddenly I found this a few weeks ago, and bought it blind based on the notes listed here, and these reviews, thinking, well, you never know???……and…Lo and behold!!!….I do!!! And, wow!! ‘G’ is totally gorgeous!!! I love the gorgeous bottle, the shape is luxurious and elegant, the colour is beautiful, and the perfume is superb.
It is a beautiful refreshing, sweet, flowery, fruity concoction, which I love from the first blast, until the end, which is a full day away. It smells strong, rich and light and fresh and sweet and juicy, and delightful, all the way through….has a lovely arms-length sillage, and wafts into my nose constantly, which is really wonderful! All day I keep thinking ‘oh I smell gorgeous!!!’ And my husband loves it, and so does everyone I know!!! I get so many compliments it’s not funny!!!
I think ‘G’ must stand for GORGEOUS!!!! I really do!

I just realised that the G means Glamour, I guess, because, looking more closely at the ads above, it says ‘Beyond Glamour’. And it’s actually got a G on top of a G, so it seems to be actually called ‘G G’ ? Maybe? ‘Giorgio Glamour’ ?

Well I am amazed at how lovely this perfume is! It’s really gorgeous!! Delicious light juicy fruity floral, with such an unusual and distinctive smell, which seems to be a very well-blended mix of everything!! It’s sort of like a sweet floral/fruit, very moist cake! It has such a beautiful refreshing light, rich sweet watery smell, and it lasts and lasts!! I put it on at 5am, and it’s now 6pm, and it’s almost as strong now, as then, which was quite strong!!! I can smell it all the time, without having to sniff my skin. It’s been gently wafting it’s intoxicatingly pretty smell around me all day. Really amazing. And I’ve loved it from the very first spray. It’s really gorgeous. Not for one second have I not really enjoyed smelling it! I’ve loved every lovely breath I’ve taken since I first put it on.

My Aunt always smelled so sweetly of flowers in such a lovely way. It was her aura, her creamy, comforting femininity. Finally chalked up the courage to politely tell my Aunt, “You always smell so wonderful” so as to maybe get her to spill the beans about what scent she wears.

This is a good summer vacation choice – very fresh and delicate. Nothing fancy really but still a nice fragrance to have on hand when you’re relaxing and don’t want to think too hard what to wear. Downside: longevity is weak.

I received this perfume as a gift and the first time I sprayed it on myself I hated it! The initial scent is cloyingly sweet and fruity; something about the smell at first reminds me almost of an air freshener covering a dirty bathroom! However, I must say after the first 10/20 minutes it calms down considerably and becomes a lighter fruity scent that is much, much more appealing. Maybe it is just my skin but that first initial fragrance puts me off it a bit. Try before buying, it definitely becomes more pleasant after a while.

Not too common smelling. Pleasant, but a little weak. When I inhale deeply I smell something sharp and spicy like geranium extract. Overall, it’s fruity.

I have loved this fragrance and it was once a huge favourite of mine. However, despite it being what I consider *everyday* wear, I can not wear it everyday. Worn too often I get sick of it.
Best desribed by me as Crisp Melon with a hint of floral.
It is scent that always makes a refreshing change from something else.
I always get compliments wearing this. Long lasting yet quite light. It can hit the nostril a bit rawly when it is first sprayed, but mellows down very quick.

This is a cool, green, fairly sharp floral, based on peony. The ginger comes through in the middle phase, and adds a soft spicy sweetness that is still very subtle and never overpowers the floral. To me, this smells like a cross between VS Pink and Kiss for her. This sits very close to the skin, so very nice to wear on a hot day. This is nothing like the original Giorgio.

Peony, pineapple, melon and grapefruit are four examples of notes that I dislike when it comes to perfume. Seeing that all four of those notes I listed above feature in G’s scent pyramid, one would assume that I would go running in the opposite direction. Surprisingly, G is not half bad.
You probably won’t catch me wearing G in this lifetime, but you won’t hear me dissing it either. For a fairly inexpensive fragrance, it’s quite balanced and inoffensive. It’s a great choice for anyone that loves fruity florals.
The grapefruit and melon opening is fairly subdued, watery almost, which for me is a relief. The pineapple note is candied, not nearly as acidic as I thought it would be.
The heart is a peachy floral. Peony and I don’t usually get along, but in G it is tolerable. The floral touch is actually quite pleasant. I found the peony, peach and pineapple blend to last well into the drydown.
Seeing that I expected to vehemently dislike Giorgio Beverly Hill’s G, it’s nice to conclude my testing knowing full well that every fragrance is worth a chance. A cheap price tag is not always a bad thing.

Thank you for this Ta2kitty! I really like it. I did the overnight test and it lasted mainly on my clothes. This is a very light floral. I like almost anything with spicy ginger in it. I would recommend this for all ages. All year around but I will probably wear it in the summer.

It was my first Giorgio Beverly Hills. I love it so much, even after trying the original Giorgio in yellow bottle, that I simply could not stand. The original one is a scrubber but this is so beautiful and feminine. I do not smell anything similar between them. This one is worth trying, even if you hate the original. Love for me.

I came across a tester of this today and decided to give it a try because I like Giorgio (the original). Since I was on my way out the shop, I sprayed it on a tester-strip and put in my coat pocket. When I finally came home and emptied my pocket…I smelled this wonderful smell. The tester-strip had ‘blossomed’ into a drydown in my coat and was scenting the air.
What a pretty perfume this is! Peony mingling with ginger, a soft orchid note is cooling down with a slice of lemon that was caught flirting with a pineapple – and this scene was watched by a sandalwood note that smiled!
I never thought this combination could work! But it does! Despite the fruits it’s more floral than fruity with a very faint sandalwood base-note.
I must sample this on my skin and see if the note that worries me (the pineapple) won’t turn sour. If I get the same result as on the tester-strip I have to add this one to my collection. YUM!
I will keep you posted! But in the meantime…go on and sample it. It might surprise you like it did me. : )

Cleaning my perfumes today… found this one, still 25% left of my big bottle. I wonder why I didn’t finish this one. Interesting smell, on me after the first spritz, it smells like grapes. Very fruity and yummy. As time passes a mix of a fruity, flowery smell stays with you for a while. I like it.

I think this one needs to work with your skin. It’s a strange fresh sweet smell. Recognizable. On me it worked. But I can understand that some people say that it smells weird, chemical… I think you need to try it to know it. If it works with your chemistry you can get compliments on this one… It doesn’t smell like those fruity sweet cheap perfumes, it’s different.

I used to looooove this one when I was a teenager. As far as I can remember it even was my first properly bought fragrance. I felt very grown up and sophisticated wearing this and even managed to use up the whole bottle, which rarely happens to be because usually I get bored with fragrances at some point and give them to my mother.

I found this in my mums bathroom and I don’t think she’s ever worn it more than a few times. Not sure if it’s gone off or I sprayed the stale bit out of the cap onto my hand (this seems to happen when a fragrance isn’t used for a while/first use)but it was a scrubber – synthetic, sour, harsh and smelling of nothing in particular. I will go back and test again next time I bring the kids to see my parents!!

This perfume to me smells middle of the road between the original Giorgio and the Giorgio Red. It can be worn anytime because it is very delicate but classy at the same time. It is a little sweet like Giorgio without the really strong smell and a little warm like Giorgio Red but again not as strong. If you like the Giorgio and Giorgio Red then I recommend this one for a light in between perfume. It will not offend anyone like Giorgio does but still classy for someone who only likes the old style perfumes how they used to smell not like all the popular watery perfumes of todays generation. I am familiar with most of the old power house perfumes like shalimar, samsara, paris, first, red door, pacco rabanne palermo picasso etc. This one by Giorgio is just lovely. Spray a fair bit because it can be faint if not sprayed enough.
