I’m not even mad, just so very confused. Don’t smell any notes that are listed. But I do smell pickles. Lol someone please tell me I’m not alone.

Very sweet melon floral that dries into laundry detergent type musk.

I love this spray. I smell the lavender, although it’s not strong but it is in there. It’s a clean scent and sweet as well. It wears off in about four hours for me. I don’t really smell the honey, but then again honey can smell different depending on the type of flower. I’ve gotten numerous compliments from men and women whenever I put this on. Btw it says French lavender & honey -meaning France Lavender which they are known to grow in southern France.

This smells almost identical to lavender sugar by bath and body works

I agree with the other reviewers that the name is misleading, the lavender scent is not “French lavender” and there is no honey smell.
However, if you’re looking for a *very* sweet lavender scent with added sugar, this is for you. It’s such a clean smell it reminds me of detergent.

annoyingly, i got suckered into blind buying this one during a giant online sale. i buy the hand soaps when they’re on deep discount, and i threw this into the cart too thinking honey lavender sounded wonderful.
but there’s no lavender, nor is there honey. while BBW scents have never been sophisticated, they used to at least bear a similarity to their names. sweet pea smelled like sweet pea, freesia smelled like freesia… synthetic, yes, but you could certainly smell the fragrance’s namesake in there. however, now every scent is a generic floral. i didn’t care for this one at all.

Maybe one of the most misleadingly named perfumes ever. French? Um, no. Honey? Not sure I smell any, unless it’s providing the sweetness? Lavender? Nope. No, wait, I think I smell a slight waft of it now that this perfume has been on my skin for a few hours…
So, if you remove the expectations of honey and lavender and actually smell the perfume, it’s rather nice. It’s a sweet melon berry cocktail concoction that, although not groundbreaking or stunning, is nice on a warm summer day or as a casual office or school scent. Another plus is that doesn’t have that typical B&BW base that annoys me in so many of their other scents.

    I tried the EdP.
There’s lavender in the opening. But not enough to state it in its name.
The drydown is an artificial, sticky, cloying unidentifiable sweetness. It feels similar to the aftertaste I get after eating way too many Airheads or Starbursts.
    Overall, I didn’t like it.

This is nice. This is also generic. I smell some lavender, but it’s so sweetened that it’s hard to recognize. I get the honey, definitely…but this does NOT smell like the lavender fields of Avignon, with their rows and rows of lavender and the beehives that sometimes adorn them. Of course, I hardly expected that from a BBW fragrance, but that’s what this really SHOULD smell like. I also get quite a bit of cool fruit from this – melon and plum. There’s not much sharpness from the blackberry or mandarin orange. In fact, there really isn’t anything citrusy about this at all. It’s quite sweet, and very smooth. It doesn’t last very long at all, but during the drydown I get a bit of something lovely and floral…it’s not either of the floral notes I see listed, more of something lemony – not citrus, like I said before, that’s absent. More of a “lemony” white flower, maybe magnolia? Nice for a sundress and…I don’t know, housework or something.

Smells neither like lavender, nor like honey. Doesn’t even smell “french”. A generic, fruity BBW fragrance that smells like you bathed in a tub of melted skittles.

I purchased this today because I first tried it at its launch, but became distracted. It’s a lovely violet start, vaguely reminds me of Guerlain Meteorites (those little powder balls). That note continues into a musky sweet soft smell. No lavender to be found, so shop elsewhere for that. Goes for the honey scent too. This could be a nice every day, non offensive scent. It seems pretty popular, because I purchased the last one in the store. Go to BB&W and give it a spritz!

Yeah, yeah – it’s not really a Lavender or a honey scent…. But once you look past that, boy, is this not just the prettiest scent. I picture little bows and butterflies and soft breezes when I wear this. It makes me want to skip. Literally. I nearly skipped into the office this morning looking like an imbecile. Lol. It’s more of a skin scent and the silage isn’t huge. So I’ve layered the perfume with the body cream and the body spray and that’s the only way to go. I also have a small spritzer that I filled so that I can touch up a couple of times during the day. It’s great for work! I wouldn’t suggest it for a night out – way too light for that. It’s also fantastic for layering. If you want a Lavender vibe – layer it with a Lavender oil! It smells divine, or maybe a warm honeyed body cream? In fact it’s soft enough to play with. Layer this baby!
It doesn’t smell like the run of the mill scents that are doing the the rounds lately that all smell so similar. It also won’t get you noticed in a big way. It’s for neck nuzzling and cuddling and it’s great to wear when you need a break from something heavier.

The Best of Bath & Body Works
    1 French Lavender & Honey
This fragrance was my very 1st purchase from the Bath & Body Works store. As such I have fond memories of the scent. I sampled this at the store where they displayed the bottle with a little tag that read “Try Me” so I did. I loved what I was smelling. This makes me feel like a French girl with a little lavender colored neck scarf walking her little Pomeranian dog at the park. It’s sweet and feminine, with a lavender that never punches your nose. It’s not too strong or aromatic. It’s more like a lilac or soft violent scent. The floral notes are not as big as the fruit-honey accords.
I could smell honey toward the beginning of the dry down but it’s also not as obvious a honey note as in other fragrances. It’s swimming in fruit. There’s melon and citrus as well as blackberry and nectarine. Delicious as a fruity honey scent. It’s casual and light, easy to wear. It’s perfect for work and to wear every day after your shower and after you’ve dressed. A spritz here a spritz there and you’re good to go.
The longevity is an issue because I wish it could last longer. When you pull the nozzle to spray, it comes out as a fine mist. It’s sweet and inoffensive, girly but with that touch of either musk or wood it dries down to a bit of a mature scent that smells like a leathery cologne. But it’s also not too big on that accord. The light lavender-violet and the honey reign supreme.
    Pretty!

I usually don’t gravitate towards lavender scents at all because I think lavender smells harsh but this scent isn’t too bad. I think I probably like this scent for the same reason that most people on here don’t like it (because of the very light lavender scent). If you aren’t a fan of lavender then you might like this but if you are a hardcore lover of lavender then you might be disappointed by this. My only complaint about this scent that it kinda smells boring and that it doesn’t stand out for me.

  16. :

Different kind of lavender that is not entirely bad, but not entirely great. I like peppery fragrances, for the most part, but came away feeling like lavender and pepper are not a match made in heaven.

  17. :

It’s intriguing at first, but as it wears it becomes fairly masculine and peppery. Not a bad smell, but not sweet and soothing like I hoped.

Fragrance Review For French Lavender & Honey
    Bath & Body Works
Top Notes: Mandarin Melon Blackberry Violet Leaves
Middle Notes: Lavender Jasmine Lily of the Valley Nectarine
    Base Notes Honey Oak Musk
This is a delicious sweet fruited floral honeyed fragrance. I was afraid it would be too light as I got the body mist but for a body mist it lasts enough time for me to enjoy it. It’s absolutely enchanting and I got so many compliments on it. Oh it’s cheap stuff but it reminds me of the most delicious fruit scented shampoos ever. It has a top layer of melon and mandarin, and the nectarine. It’s a very delicious fruit juice. It’s a concentrated fruit concoction. I was hoping to get the lavender right away but you have to wait. Once the fruit notes begin to mellow, you get that distinct lavender aroma. The lavender is not alone and it’s joined by a violet and jasmine. It’s floral but it’s really more about that fruit punch at the first spritz. There’s a dry down of light woods, and a sweet honey, lots of honey at the end. But this honey is still really more of an orange juice like a mixture of orange juice and honey if you can imagine such a thing. It’s so delicious. I wish I could just drink this perfume and not have to end up in the hospital.

Love this perfume, the lavender is very faint and beautiful smell. Not grassy or sharp. I has a fruity blend with the sweetness of honey. Draws lots of compliments. I hope the keep it around
I do think they drew me in with that beautiful bottle though ! lol
This is exactly the same as BBW Lavender and Spring Apricot.. just diff.package.

I love lavender, so curiosity got the best of me. I didn’t intend to buy just try while I was window shopping. This scent just smelled horribly artificial to me. I was expecting a more natural, maybe green scent. I didn’t like it and promptly washed it off my wrist.

  21. :

Even though there’s not much Lavender I honestly don’t care as it tends to be too strong for me. The first thing I can smell is Violet and Melon a delicious combination that reminds me of Violet candy that I used to eat when I was a kid. Once it dries down, Lily, sweet honey, and musk begin to linger. It all smells so romantic and beautiful. It’s a very nice sweet clean floral scent that doesn’t smell too old-ladyish. Definitely one of my faves from B&BW.

This just smells like nectarines with a tiny bit of honey drizzled on top.

  23. :

Legitimately there is zero lavender or even honey. All I get is melon/cantelope and some orange and peach/nectarine. There’s some generic white floral but then that’s it. This was a blind buy online while I was looking for a cheap lavender, never doing that again.

I was gifted a mini of this that was half full and know that I will need to get a bigger one when I am done with this. I agree I don’t really smell much Lavender or honey but I do like it 🙂 Much more than expected.

For a fragrance called French Lavender & Honey,I’d expect to smell SOME of either Lavender or Honey.
    Not so much.
This is a pretty basic BBW scent, fruity and floral with no hugely individual notes to my nose.I was really hoping for a nice strong lavender and they failed to deliver.
I like it,don’t love it,won’t be purchasing again.

I was somewhat disappointed in this as I love lavender, and can detect none of it here. I get a little bit of fruit and a little bit of honey, but it seems all mixed up in a confusing rush of chemically sugar-sweetness that’s gone in a flash.
    Yeah, longevity isn’t that great.
Reminds me somewhat of Lise Watier Vent du Sud, which I also have and which lasts much longer. Glad I got this inexpensively as I will not repurchase.
    5/10.

fresh ..sweet fruity ..juicy yummy a hint of calming lavender a hint actually not much honey or lavender at least there isn’t that horrible synthetic waxy background annoying accord..trying its best to be a good girl with the least feel for synaesthetic trying to go back to the French natural perfumes (made with synthetics)..
back to the spray the alcohol used is good lol whenever you spray you get a beautiful refreshing whiff you just wanna keep replying again and again you can swim in it drink it do whatever you want with don’t forget to store it in the fridge..
oh wait a minute the lavender is coming ever so softly after a while it turns a bit mellow a bit soft with a hot heart though its full bodied its clean crisp bright intelligent dewy full of surprises ..just keep a mini to keep reapplying and making everyone wonder where this cocktail is coming from
accords of fruity melon berries peach a bit of white honey musk and a faint lavender a cooling perfume the end result smells like a red watermelon scent so yes good for hot humid weather good for school

This smell Sooooo delicious!!! Yummy!!! Soooo juicy I mean it is true that I can’t smell any lavender note but well, in that case, they just should change the name and that’s all!!! I’m in love with this fragrance!!! <3

I don’t really like this one. I picked up a small perfume spray in BBW in the states, for $4, so it was an impulse purchase. I just can’t get into this one. It shares similar characteristics with aquatic perfumes, I find. Not a fan of those, as I prefer gourmands more so.
I really don’t like the top notes, and the dry down isn’t worth hanging around for either. It’s not offensive, just a fruity shampoo/honey smell. It’s fresh, bright, light, and feminine. Just not for me!
I do, however like the design of the mini bottle and the price was fantastic. I should give this to someone who will appreciate it more than me.

My son, age 2, just reviewed this fragrance, and I thought I’d share. He and I were in the car, and I sprayed some French Lavender & Honey from the mini I bought at some point, probably during the semi-annual sale. He exclaimed:
    “I smell juice!”
And I thought, yeah, you pretty much nailed it, kid.
Seriously though, this is sweet and fruity, bringing to mind Mike Myers from the old Coffee Talk sketches — “French Lavender & Honey is neither French lavender nor honey: discuss.”

Ditto to all reviews here. No lavender that I can tell. I don’t know honey as a note so, I can’t say. I wanted to love this just because the packaging is so DREAMY… which makes this nice enough for gift giving or receiving.

  33. :

I agree with carbocookie below, the name sounds great like its such a nice NEW scent but in reality it lacks luster and the staying power is next to nothing. Such a pity, I was expecting more, but well, some BBW scents tend to be a repetition of other “discontinued” scents given a new name.. All I can smell is something sweet but not honey and something of a fruity mixture I cannot quite put a finger on.

  34. :

    3 out of 5

Maybe its just me, but if you’re going to name your fragrance after a distinctive note like lavender, you should maybe make it smell at least a little tiny bit like that note.
If you name a fragrance “French Lavender and Honey,” you make people assume that this is going to be heady, rich lavender scent. People like me get confused and even offended when we discover upon smelling it that it’s the most generic and nondescript sweet, floral-fruity scent ever.

  35. :

    3 out of 5

No honey. No lavender. Just another nondescript sugary floral scent with leading words “lavender” and “honey”. If it was not called French Lavender Honey, I can guarantee that you wouldn’t even connect the scent to these notes. Those only used to commercial perfumes might not be AS disappointed as those of us who have experienced quality lavender and honey in great indie and niche perfumes, essential oils, absolutes and realistic accords! VERY disappointing. This is yet another chemical sugary concoction that you have smelled numerous times. Sure, it might be pleasant but that is what sugar is, just pleasant.

  36. :

    3 out of 5

I have this in the lotion and fragrance mist, and I think it’s a nice one. It’s fruity, a little floral, and super sweet in the same way that most B&BW products are. The mist layered with the lotion tends to hold up well for several hours with decent projection.
As much as I like the fragrance, I can’t understand why they named it French Lavender and Honey. It doesn’t have any of the clean herbal/medicinal smell that I associate with lavender. And maybe there’s some honey in there, but I wouldn’t have guessed from smelling it. It’s sweet, but the most prominent notes are the fruity ones, even as it dries down. Kinda disappointing. I wish B&BW would have branched out and made something less sweet that actually smelled like lavender, rather than something that smells like half of their other fragrances. Still, this is nice enough that I’ll keep wearing it.

  37. :

    4 out of 5

normally i can’t stand the smell of lavender, but this scent is an exception. the lavender is very light, almost nonexistent (or in my case, tolerable) and it’s mostly sweet and flowery. that being said, there’s nothing real special about it. it’s just an average garden variety bbw scent.

  38. :

    4 out of 5

I love this scent for the very hot, sticky, and humid summer days here. It smells so clean, fresh, and crisp. I have no problem picking up on the lavender and honey. This will be my go to summer perfume.

  39. :

    3 out of 5

This is a pleasant scent. Smells more like a Febreeze spray than a perfume. I own the EDT version and there’s not too much of a wow-factor. It stays within arms reach, but unfortunately for no more than 30-45 minutes. It’s what I expect from B&BW.

  40. :

    4 out of 5

The top notes are quite similar to B&B works “Beautiful Day” and are a bit heavy handed in the fruit department but this soon mellows out. An hour after first spray I can strongly detect the honey note which blends nicely with the nectarine- which is now setting off a huge craving for that fruit:)The lavender is barely detectable- if at all. It was this note which cajoled me into trying this scent so I was a tad miffed by the lack of lavender. Over all quite pretty and easy on the nose. Yes, it is a bit generic but I like it just the same. Have a nice day 🙂

  41. :

    4 out of 5

I agree with the reviewer below – I don’t smell even a hint of lavender. Still, I think Lavender and Honey is a very pleasant fragrance. I get lots of the nectarine and berries and very little of the floral notes. Simple and nice, not sugary, naturally sweet. Better than some of the other offerings from B&BW as of late, but it definitely doesn’t blow me away.
