Gramila – :
By the time a gymnast reaches the Olympics, they need to be fairly well rounded across events: Vault, parallel bars, balance beam, floor exercise, and horse. That said, everyone has their best & worst suits. Similarly, Fragranticians have their strengths & weaknesses, based on personal preference, which dictates experience.
Citrus, Aquatic, and Fruit are easy Gold for me. Distinction of Balsamics & Floral, on the other hand, are my weaker events. Demeter is unique in producing soliflores and solinotes that allow you to better understand what they smell like on their own. By learning the olfactory profile of Freesia, it provides me the framework to deconstruct complex frags like Eternity, which I used to wear as a child. Each component separately comes alive.
Stopped by a florist’s en route to work, and this is a beautifully realistic representation. While I haven’t tried the V. Secret version noted below, I’ll tell you that Demeter’s Freesia smells like the actual *flower*.

Demeter missed the mark by a mile on this one, a blind buy I regret. This perfume smelled like stale soap, green bitter and a little medicinal. No where near sweet light freesia we know & love. Many years ago Victoria secret had a perfume called Freesia. sweet & beautiful it was the standard to which I hold all others. Freesia fields by Bath & Body works makes a decent attempt but the staying power just isn’t there and now it has been discontinued 🙁 I am still on the hunt…may have to resort to the essential oils they are selling on ebay.
