Masterfully crafted woodsy-citrus-licorice! Received this test sample from a generous Fragrantician as part of swap. Foret de Becharre is everything I had hoped Guerlain Aqua Allegoria’s Anisia Bella would be. The latter had an odd note (likely basil) that didn’t work on my skin.
Fell in love with the anise/ licorice/ fennel/ tarragon in perfumery with Lolita Lempicka, which perfectly suited me over the high school/ college years. Two decades later, Becharre is the more grown up, understated licorice that I crave! This is less loud, and much more mysterious than the former.
This composition will work equally well on a woman or a man. Specifically, it’s someone who ‘thinks outside the box’, and ‘stands out from the crowd’. Too sophisticated for the herd mentality.

It is so great. Cedar and soft warm leather. as for me,it”s better to say suede leather.
Licorice here”s like the wind that refreshes.

A truly special scent! The initial application was heady – although no one note stood out. It just smelled great and reminded me of refined French perfumes. When it dried down I was able to pick out citrus and maybe a bit of amber. But the blend is so well mixed that you really smell the whole accord at once without any one taking center stage. Much later I could pick out the cedar. You would expect a haute couture editorial model to smell of this! Sillage is moderate, and it only lasts a couple of hours on my skin. It is lovely and clean – I reapplied all day!
– – – I went to the store, and no less than 3 people came up to me and asked what perfume I was wearing because they liked it so much. This was even with me looking away and giving them the don’t bother me body language.

Very clean scent. It feels like a cologne.
One of the notes is ‘grass’ but I detect more of a green note than a raw/bitter grass, maybe because of the grapefruit.
Is a refreshing scent, it warms up slowly, the first peek of the hazelnut is like heaven, slightly warm and creamy it creates a wonderful contrast to the bright opening.
When the woods appear it turns into a fragrance that is similar to many other masculine fragrances, still a very nice scent. The dry down is a beautiful, quiet cedar, liquorice and amber.

Crisp and rich. The cedar and leather is delightful. Unisex. For women, would be good with a wool suit in a downtown setting. Lunch on white linen table cloth or cocktails in an excellent hotel bar.
