I think this like its other brothers in cigarette box is meant to be unisex.

    Notes according to Al-rashad.com:
Top note: Ylang Ylang, Bergamot, Black Currant
Middle note: Orchid, Fruity notes, Lotus wood
    Base note: Patchouli, Incense, Sandalwood
To me, this is predominantly ylang ylang, which in For Ever is rich, heady, and definitely has that ripe bananas smell. I think that’s what gives it a tropical, beachy vibe because I don’t smell any coconut. Under the ylang ylang I detect a bit of white floral and incense, but this is definitely a ylang ylang fragrance. I like this in warmer months and always get compliments.
Like most Arabian oils, the silage and longevity are excellent. I applied some yesterday and this morning I still smell like an island breeze. 🙂

To add to the confusion of the different versions of this: I was looking for a creamy scent and this came up in the forum suggestions so I bought it on eBay. I looked at the reviews here and made sure to buy from a seller who had a bottle with the words “For Ever”, but I received one called “Forever” anyway. It smelled nothing like coconut so I tried harder to track one down with the words “For Ever” and finally found one at a small online shop. It arrived today, and…
Both versions smell the same. No coconut, cedar, butter or incense. Both boxes also have the same ingredients lists (same as the ones butterbean analysed below). I’m not great at describing notes, but it smells like a tropical floral scent to me, fairly sweet, slightly woody, maybe with something like ylang-ylang and gardenia. It’s nice, but not what I was looking for. If there was ever a version with coconut in it, it seems it’s long gone and impossible to find just going by what it says on the box.

@Sunnn: there are 2 different perfumes, the old one is “For Ever” [2 words] ad it has the above listed notes, the new one is “Forever” [1 word] and is really different:
Top note: Ylang Ylang, Bergamot, Black Currant
Middle note: Orchid, Fruity notes, Lotus wood
    Base note: Patchouli, Incense, Sandalwood
On the official Al Haramain site the only one available is “Forever”, no trace of the old gourmand, so be careful when you buy and ask for a photo of the box 😉

Some packages shows the name “For Ever” and other “Forever”. Why?

    BANANAS <3
Definitely. And sandalwood with vanilla, and some this-and-that, refined mess that brings depth and sensuality to summer fun.
Tropic and very sexy ‘bronze skin scent’ that also should be applied to long locks, Forever and beach hair were just made for each other.

There are two diferent packages: For Ever and Forever, so they have probably changed the formula.

I am actually wearing it tonight and I really like it, but I would definately say that the fragrantica notes are wrong, and maybe that’s why people can smell coconut is because there is a woody smell and sandalwood, ( I dont know if they think it’s coconut) but its definately not. I am dispappointed not to find coconut, but I am definatley not disappointed with this perfume because it really is lovely. I think for me, it will be a winter frag though.
I am finding the patchouli, the sandalwood, and the incense, and it’s faint which suits me because I dont like incens-ey perfumes, but it works well in this.
Well, the search for an Al-rehab coconut continues, but this perfume was £3.40 for 15ml, and it’s lovely…..who could possibly be disappointed with that?
I actually visited Al Haramains website, and checked the notes, and Fragranticas are definately incorrect, I doubt Al Haramain would have it wrong on their own website?
I am just confused as to why when there is no coconut, just because Fragrantica says there is…..people automatically can smell it?
Unless of course it has been recently re-formulated?

Először érzem a kókuszt, majd finom krémes-édes, puha illattá válik. Nagyon kellemes viselni. Tartóssága is szuper.

Great, smells way more expensive and complicated, than other 15 ml Al Haramain babies in cigarette-like boxes (many of which I do like a lot as well!)
It is like candied fruity mix of white petals in ylang-ylang glaze, very well structured one. I can not recall anything similar I ever smelled in my life, it is also extremely long-lasting and most complimented by other people. It has interesting dusty-dry powder touch on the top of all notes, chalky-niche-like twist, like some fairy sprinkled blossoming tree at night by this magical powder. Enjoyable complicity in the simplest package, makes you wonder, why we do keep spending fortune on god-knows-what in expensive posh bottles, marketed and advertised as new “Holy Grails”…

This is really nice and so feminine! I can really smell the vanilla and coconut. It is not exactly the same, but it is reminiscent of Aquolina Gold Sugar – it has a very similar fruity vanilla/coconut, but I think I prefer this; I think it adapts more naturally to the skin of the wearer. This is a very fun and sexy scent!

This is a soft breeze carrying notes of jasmine and coconut. Best for spring/summer. Affordable and very long lasting.

Excellent! sweet. lond lasting. It smells like vanilla – coconut incense. Totally UNISEX. All CPO Al Haramain is unisexy. I love it.! no matter what contains important that smells great. All year round but summer will be dazzling. It is a pity that Rollon plastic rather than metal. I would recommend! 5 stars.

I agree with Butterbean, the NOTES ARE WRONG!! Since I did’t detect coconut, or a beachy tropical vibe, but ylang ylang and something spicy and woody instead, so I searched a little online, and from different sources (including Al Haramain’s website) I got these notes instead:
Top Notes: ylang-ylang, Bergamot, Black currant
Heart Notes: Orchid, Fruity notes, Lotus wood
    Base Notes: Patchouli, Frankincense, Sandalwood
I definitely smell the ylang ylang, orchid, frankincense and sandalwood, the bergamot/patchouli/black currant are not so strong here. It’s not very fruity and could be unisex, though it’s more a feminine floral oriental, due to it’s slight sweetness and lack of aromatic notes. I like it, and the quality is excellent for the price, but it’s not the oriental tropical scent I thought I bought!

PaneraDFisk has summed up the beauty that is For Ever nicely. Her review really does this little bargain justice.
Don’t let the opening scare you off. It’s a little brash and soapy to me, but quickly becomes a Summer Dream, and an expensive smelling one at that.
On different days, however, I smell different things! Some days the coconut aspect sings out more clearly, with something almost nutty-creamy in the foreground. Other days it’s ALL about the white florals….
Of note – if you want to make believe you’re in Hawaii, then DO wear For Ever. It’s very evocative of an island paradise. 😀

I’m a guy, I’m gay, and I *love* this fragrance. I have a great palette for wine and a nose like you’d not believe. When you can detect gas leaks that machinery can’t find, you know you’re good 🙂
Al-Haramain For Ever has got to be the single most sensual fragrance I have ever encountered. The first thing I get is coconut, then vanilla, it’s almost like a scented dessert, rich and thick. Definitely fig on the nose, almost a little syrup-like, but I don’t detect peach in it. Right on the end is a little hit like baby powder, the kind of smell you’d imagine it to be – sweet, light and gentle.
For Ever is incredibly strong. I use a little at night next to my pillow, to help me sleep, because it’s so rich and decadent that it relaxes me. My friends adore it too, I’ve already ordered some for them!
One word of warning, if you’re somewhere like a restaurant, apply it VERY lightly, because when you’re warm, it scents quite heavily, and it’ll knock out your nose, so when you eat, you’ll miss quite a lot.

This is a white floral, people. Starts with bright, sparkly jasmine with lipstick powder, and dries down to a creamy, slightly powdery and tropical gardenia with tuberose. Give it a couple of hours and judge by the drydown rather than the initial scent, the beauty appears when it starts to dry down. The coconut is not present in any other way than the coconutty fascets of these flowers.
This is not at all similar to Bronze Goddess in any other sense than it being a tropical, almost sun lotion-y in the drydown, white floral. I’m impressed and highly recommend getting this oil. Use it on its own or sparingly when layering (with coconut, gourmands, other white florals). Applied more heavily it appears more soapy. Nice to layer with musk and powdery scents.

Oh, I’m sooo in love with this one, pure coconut, with a hint of vanilla. This is the coconut scent I was searching for, so yummy <3
Up.: I just had to buy 2 backup bottles… never done that before. That means something xD

well, i boght this perfume roll on in a multiple sales store in Paris for 10 or 16 euros ( I can´t remember)as a souvenir for some friends. I didn’t know what i was buying, Big suprise, it is a great perfume!!!. Even i didn’t know it was for woman (yes, is very sweet and strong, and spicy) gender is not mandatory in perfumes, so, I kept it to myself and I wear it anyway (preferably in evenings).

Very similar hit To Kenzo Kashaya which I have used for many years, Forever is a perfect uncomplicated little fragrance which I bought blind, definately powdery vanillic once the initial floral burst has calmed down.. will purchase more!

    White powder & Vanilla…
I’ve really started to like this one. There is such a soft, powdery, floral vibe about it that is sweet and delicious.
The box this comes in is labelled “pure perfume” and is certainly noticeable once it is applied to skin. I get a lot of floral notes, including some white florals. I also get vanilla and powder. There may be some fruit involved but I can’t be sure.
Overall, a lovely soft, innocent type of fragrance which really makes an impact on skin and on those around you. I like it very much. Good value for money in my opinion.

This reminds me of holidays in the carribean. Really reminds me of sun cream but in a good way. I love it
update.. having worn this all day it stops being like coconutty suncream soon and develops into a lovely rich vanilla powdery scent, a little bit like avon far away but nice because I don’t actually like far away!

It’s like fragrant fruit jam smeared between layers of puff pastry that is flavored delicately with anise-seeds, topped with dollops of whipped vanilla-almond cream. A breeze wafts by as you nibble this confection, carrying a subtle whiff of sweet blossoms (ylang-ylang, orchid, narcissus). As this beautiful mixture of scents subsides a bit, I smell dark, mysterious woods- with just a touch of smokiness- and sweet musk that becomes more-noticeable on the far drydown. So lovely throughout its long life!
Honestly, one of the most sophisticated gourmands I’ve encountered, and an amazing find for the price!
NOTE: My label says “For Ever”.

THIS IS NOT A TROPICAL SCENT!! NO COCONUT! NOT BEACHY!
ForEver is SWEET and SPICY CLOVE – nondescript fruits and florals but ZERO coconut or fig.
The notes above listed are just all WRONG WRONG WRONG!
I am reading the package which are all chemical compounds and aroma chemicals and aldehydes.
sweet, floral, fruity, green with a powdery nuance/jasmine like note = cinnimal
    balsalmic floral = benzyl salicyclate
floral muguet cyclamen rhubarb woody = hydroxyisohexyl 3 cyclohexene carboxaldehyde (leerall)
fresh sweet herbal floral/citrus floral sweet bois de rose woody green blueberry = linalool
rose/sweet floral fruity rose waxy citrus oil = geranoil
sweet floral lilly of the valley scent/floral lily sweet green waxy tropical melon = hydroxycitronellal
    floral rose odor = citronellol
clove: sweet spicy clove woody = eugenol
mild fresh sweet linden floral angelica = farnesol
floral fruity powdery violet woody tea = alpha-isomethyl ionone
sweet orange/citrus orange fresh sweet = limonene
clove/spicy clove blossom carnation woody = methyl isoeugenol
floral sweet jasmine fruity = alpha-amyl cinnamaldehyde
    fruity sweet = methyl 2-octynoate
sweet, SPICY, cinnamon, balmy, resinous = benzyl cinnamate
fresh, juicy, Iemon peel, with a sweet tangy green nuance = Citral
THIS IS NOT A TROPICAL SCENT!! NO COCONUT! NOT BEACHY!
In a nutshell: ForEver is a thick, dense, sweet fruity powdery spicy incense with hints of woodiness perfume oil.
At first I could not figure out what I was smelling. Definetly sweet creamy fruity powdery but there is a LOT of spicy – I almost thought it was cinnamon, then patchouli or maybe some oud. But after grabbing my little box and looking up the scent of each aromachemical – you can see how this came together.
There is NO coconut in this for me whatsoever. I can’t distinguish fig or peach, nor any specific floral note.Clearly you smell sweet fruity, creamy powdery floral, but one note does not stand out a clearly this or that.
cheap enough to blind buy. a tiny bit goes a LONG WAY. I rolled it on 3 times and its WAY OVERKILL – and have been scrubbing it off with every trick for the past 3 hours.
Don’t get me wrong, it is a nice scent. However, I think more suited for fall or winter.

Wow, I really, really love this! I really think what the one reviewer said about varied batches smelling differently must be true, because I am getting a much different experience than most of what I see described here. And DaddysLittleHelper (the 1st reviewer) captures the drydown perfectly, spot-on!
(My) For Ever opens with ripe coconut and sweet tropical fruit, but that very quickly deepens into a woody coconut and LOTS of incense. Like, mostly incense. I’m not familiar enough with the different kinds to identify what’s most present (ie. Frankincense, Myrrh etc) but I love it! Like just a very strong, deep, rounded incense smell with a coconut musk backbone if you really hunt for it. IMO the coconut just rounds out the fragrance and makes it more sensual and approachable.
This scent LASTS. I’ve smelled it through other scents, in the shower, like at least 24 hours later. Probably the longest lasting scent of any perfume or oil I have tried. Moisture or a surge of body heat seem to refresh it. Sillage is moderate, good for an oil. I’m considering mixing it with perfumer’s alcohol and using it as a spray, to see how it changes the fragrance. I’ll report back with results if I do.

This is tropical, floral, super sweet, coconut aldehydes (has a figue-like quality to it), a baby touch of atlas cedar, white musk… then the usual citronellol, geraniol, musk ketone bla bla.
I get a herb-like note but it could be from the wood accord. It’s a bit like lavender but also a bit like basil. I give up, its very slight.
It just smells strong, tropical, there’s a unisex applicability to this (its woody enough to be a very interesting, sweet, tropical men’s frag). It doesn’t smell masculine at all, the unisex quality is there for me though, either gender could try this.
The concept of it isn’t my thing and my partner didn’t like it much either (we aren’t into coconut/tropical fragrances) – but the composition is pretty good. It’s both modern french and arabian. No oudh, no crazy head-boom rose. Its sweet not sharp. You really can’t go wrong – its cheap and worth taking the risk. I don’t regret the purchase.

  29. :

A powdery and sweet gourmand at the top, with notes of toasted coconut, melting butter, warm vanilla, rose, definitely figs, and there’s smoky frankincense and oregano in the heart (or, if you like, marijuana – a distinct herbal accord).
    Cedar appears too.
On me it is too dry to be tropical, but then I live in a desert setting, and to me it has more of a camping in a desert sensation.
What remains after several hours is herbal, balsam, and vanilla over any floral. Coconut lingers but is a shadow of what it was in the opening.
Strong, gorgeous ingredients, sensual. Projection is close to the skin.
    Unisex.

Adding from my review below, my friend went beserk over this fragrance so i bought her another one. Both she and i noticed straight away that the scent with the newer one i purchased was less fruity. In fact i prefer the newer one which is less cloying. Im not sure if the oil has been changed or that it was a varying batch.
Its quite a difference and worth testing more than one batch if you can!
Generally i find Arabian oils to be quite consistent.

smells very similar to Diesel Plus Plus Feminine, although more subtle and the coconut here is more pronounced. Otherwise a similar milk powdery effect. At a later stage the fig note gets a little bit more pronounced and as it is not something that I fancy I will not use this oil much often.

Smells like a tropical paradise! The coconut is pronounced, but smells natural. The flowers and vanilla support the coconut nicely. It has none of that artificial quality of synthetic coconut. It’s a sweet fruity-sweet semi-gourmand. Magnificent!

This is a tropical fruity sweet perfume oil with amazing longevity on clothes and skin. On my skin sillage is minimal.
If you want to try another similar scent in this range then Million (dark blue box)is supposed to be a masculine version though i purchased for myself and then gave it away only because it was too sweet. I ended up giving Forever away too. Both are worth trying.
My fav is Makkah which has a bubblegum sweet note.

How do I start this one, first I am glad to see it in Fragrantica, second, I am a man, that likes to wear “masculine” fragrances, I have a weekness for certain sweet fragrances though, and I find them to be very appealing.
Usually Sandalwood based fragrances if they are creamy sweet, yet still smokey, I LOVE those.
Anyways onto, this. I purchased this off Amazon, based on the notes listed on amazon (which are different than here, Fragrantica DEFINITELY has the correct notes), of interest were Incense, Sandalwood, Black Currant, and Bergamont (based on Amazon’s note listing)
When I received the bottle, I smelled what I perceived as Pinapple (its peach definitely) and coconut, along with sweet floral notes, and it came off as feminine for sure. VERY pleasant though, I actually enjoyed wearing it that night as I sat at my computer. But wouldnt feel comfortable.
Fast forward a little, and I was going through my stuff to thin it out some, and I grabbed this again, what were the notes, I go back to amazon (as I knew it wasnt here on Fragrantica yet) and there they were, the incense and sandalwood, I have to try it again.
So I put it on again, same fruity smell as before, but I felt a little more comfortable with it, I really like certain aspects of it, but it does smell feminine, so I decide to try to wear it, I put it on in the morning, but it was coming off too feminine, so I sprayed 1 spray of Eau Sauvage Parfum to it, to sort of cover it up a little, and WOW what a combo, I fell instantly in love.
I then tried this by itself, and what an AMAZING drydown, a sweet creamy smokey sandalwood (even though its not listed here) that is what I perceive when the fruity and floral notes sort of fade to the back, its simply amazing stuff, and I LOVE combining this with Eau Sauvage Parfum, its a deadly sexy secret weapon.
This by itself is deadly sexy in the drydown, on my skin, it lasts a long time, projection could be a little better in the later stages though, and I find myself reapplying it (convenient bottle) just to boost it up since I love smelling this around the clock, it stays on skin a long time, but I like it to be more in my face during the day.
If you apply it to clothing, it lasts a LONG time, but it remains fruity, and since it is an oil, it stains clothes, the liquid is a clearish yellow color, so it wont totally ruin your clothes, but I woudlnt apply it on clothes.
This stuff is also $10 for the bottle, and you only need a small amount per application, I plan on buying a few more just to have on hand.
