I used a whole bottle of this and now I miss it. A very calm, cool perfume that makes me think of winter and sparkling freshly-fallen snow. Violet seemed to be the prominent note but it was very low-key and unobtrusive, well-blended with the rest of the composition. This was a nice break from most of my other designated “winter” fragrances, by that meaning the heavier perfumes that I could never be able to wear in warm weather due to my own sensitivity (heavier chypres and orientals). Rather than being irritating, this perfume was calming and cooling, like putting an ice pack on my senses. This is a light soft well-blended winter perfume; also it would be fun to have a spritz of it when you need a break in the heat of the summer.

I had this cream perfume when I was a teenager. Just got a mini perfume – it still has this creamy powdery violet scent. I am not sure if I like it as a perfume. It feels so creamy.

A very clean scent that really stood out among the set of four it was released with. Unique and intriguing… and mentally uplifting, somehow. Maybe the only thing that made me look forward to the holidays!

I bought a mini bottle today and I like it. I don’t like aquatic perfumes but this one smells good. I can feel the violets and something sweet.

I finally have this again and I love it! Still! It’s just as I remembered it except that the vanilla steps forward during the drydown and it’s much more prominent than I recalled. Not loud, but you can definitely tell it’s there. Lovely!

I bought this online, and I am glad I did. I have used Caprice de Printemps which was quite green, Yvresse (orange) which was soft citrussy, this one I just loved!!! But this beautiful Ice Princess was a stranger…I love it sooo much, I am not a good reviewer like our Action or Tchiepchen but I only say this: Violets!!! I am still learning to detect notes…but violets are so prominent in this one, a bit powdery wich I like. The vanilla and woodsy notes are soft. This reminds me of a scent or product from my childhood, cant remember.
I will safe this for my wintery, cocooning days, its such a cuddle-proof scent. I wish this would be still available…sigh…

This is one of the first fragrances I ever owned, and it’s the only powdery fragrance I’ve really liked so far! I remember how perfect this was for those beautiful cold winter days. Powdery violet, as tschiepchen wrote, with woodsy notes and just a tiny hint of vanilla. It was quite fresh, guess that’s where the water notes came in. Icy is indeed a good way to describe it, Action. I remember thinking of Fantaisies d’Hiver as an interesting fragrance, quite unique. A memorable fragrance for sure (11-12 years since I wore it!). This was my favorite from the original Folies de Saisons collection.

Fantaisies d’Hiver, the winter perfume of the Folies range smelled like a mix of violets and fresh snow.
Yes, snow!
The violets were very powdery and a bit sweet, so I guess that vanilla was in there, too.
I don’t know how they copied the scent of fresh and clean snowflakes, I have to guess again that maybe they used very small amounts of cedar and watery notes and experimented with them but I cannot say for sure.
I would love to describe it better but powdery violets and fresh snowflakes actually describe it best.
It was best suited to a walk in the park on a really cold winter’s day. The sun would be shining, it would be bright but everything around would be covered in lots of fluffy snow while snuggling up to your scarf and smelling the sweet violets would warm you up!
This was the best winter fragrance I have ever smelled and I was shocked when they discontinued the range (and came up with a new one).
If they relaunched it, I would buy 10 bottles straight away.

This is indeed a very ICY fragrance! It is indeed a winter perfume for sure! As in not warming, but icing!
