After the great success achieved with Ekos Flor do Luar (2016), Natura launched Ekos Flor da Manhã in early 2017. The concept was to portray the morning freshness of the Amazon rainforest, the scene of everything that surrounds the EKOS universe. And this time, the inspiration was the scent of a rare orchid, known as shepherd’s purse. Here is a note: the small-flowered plant, also known as the shepherd’s purse, is called Capsella bursa-pastoris, while the orchid is called Coryanthes and has a strange shape, resembling a small boat with a penis in front.
Again, Verônica Kato joined Clément Gavarry (IFF) to bring to life this fragrance that combines notes of apple, orange, mandarin, lemon, green notes, grapefruit, bergamot and ginger, just on top of the olfactory pyramid. Then, in the body, notes of jasmine, violet, muguet and essential oils of priprioca and pataqueira, always present in the products of the line. Finally, in the base, notes of musk, vanilla, cedar, cashmeran, amber and copaiba’s essential oil.
On the skin, it’s a pleasant surprise! I came to see some negative comments as if the fragrance smelled of “cheap perfume”, related to what would be the signature of the company. Sorry to disagree, but if it is something that this perfume does not have is the smell of something vulgar or cheap. It may not be anything new, but it’s very satisfying.
The yellow color represents the result with perfection. In terms of style (I said STYLE), there is nothing of the white powdery florals or the rosy ones. It tends more for J’adore than Kenzo Flower, if you understand me.
The fragrance is slightly fruity, but do not expect a citrus bath because of the initial combo, as you run a serious risk of being disappointed. Basically, it is a mix of jasmine and muguet, with a lot of priprioca and a citrus juice over. Then, over time, the fragrance reveals silkier nuances with a more sensual and feminine touch, thanks to the cashmeran molecule and the musk. In the background, a slight touch of copaiba.
Ekos Flor da Manhã is a pleasant perfume, which blends very well with summer and spring days, with sunny mornings and with good humor. And it is not harmless, which deserves praise, as it exudes very well and has long lasting on the skin.
Before finishing, I wanted to talk about the bottle, since I did not do it in the review of Ekos Flor do Luar. In particular, I see the bottles of this line as those drops of resins, which trickle and get thick in contact with the air, whenever some trees are cut for extraction.
Ekos Flor da Manhã deserves a little more attention, especially, for those who like cheerful fragrances that can become a signature during the hottest periods of the year.
