I purchased Fleurissimo for three reasons. 1. The (alleged) legend that it was created for Grace Kelly’s wedding; 2. I love vintage fragrances, even if they are reformulated, providing it is done well and 3. I wanted a Special Occasion fragrance.
Does Fleurissimo live up to expectations? Sadly no, in my opinion. Am I disappointed with my purchase? A little.
Firstly regarding the supposed romantic history of Fleurissimo’s creation. Well, I knew before I bought it that the legend may not be true, but as with any romance (and with any blind purchase), you take your chances. Sometimes it works out, other times it doesn’t. I have no regrets in that regard. The bottle has a regal quality at any rate.
Secondly, Fleurissimo does have a soft, feminine vintage scent, yet it isn’t dated. My bottle is a recent purchase of a current formulation. It doesn’t scream 1950’s, but isn’t modern either. At the beginning, tuberose stood out to me, then the violet and the iris. So Fleurissimo lives up to the soft floral bouquet reputation. If you are looking for a timeless floral fragrance, Fleurissimo delivers.
Thirdly, having purchased this to wear for special occasions, I’m afraid that I don’t find Fleurissimo special enough. Pretty and elegant, but lacking a little in character. It won’t offend others, but I doubt I’ll receive compliments or enquiries as to what fragrance I am wearing.
As for the price compared to performance, I am disappointed. I can smell the quality of the ingredients in Chanel’s Les Exclusif’s range, and expected a similar experience with an expensive Creed perfume, however this isn’t the case with my bottle of Fleurissimo. Still, blind buys are a gamble. Win some, lose some.
Further regarding price compared to performance, on my skin Fleurissimo did not last terribly long. Silage was average.
To conclude, I certainly don’t dislike Fleurissimo, it’s a lovely floral, but I’ll try before I buy expensive fragrances in future.
Sheavanda – :
I go through perfume phases; themes for my sampling. I read an article about the fragrances that movie stars wore in the 40s and 50s, as well as what Princess Diana and other royals wore on their wedding days, so I went sample shopping and got everything available. I figured I could smell like old movie stars for the next few weeks.
First up is Creed Fleurissimo. I have since learned the story about Grace Kelly may be fake, but I have not been able to try any of Creed’s perfumes before, so don’t mind a bit of urban legend with my scent. This was also the most expensive of my samples, at 6.00 for 1/4 ml. (I also bought another Creed sample, with no royal story attached, for a more reasonable 2.00)
As for Fleurissimo, I was slightly disappointed. On me, it opened a bit sour, a bit dirty, almost like it had turned, not the floral chorus I was expecting. Under the sour grass, I got flowers blowing in a breeze but not rose or tuberose. (I wore a Chloe Rose perfume yesterday so perhaps that’s why I’m not smelling rose today). Fortunately, the sour dried out, and then it became a soft fragrance of gentle field flowers. I did smell white flowers but not headachy or cloying and nothing individualized. Most definitely it has that vintage smell that can’t be described but perfume lovers know it-it’s when you say “now that’s a perfume, not a fragrance or a scent.” It is somehow elevated. This perfume seems old school, despite the fact it’s made today-I would not be surprised to find an old perfume bottle in a vintage shop and smell this. Fully dried down, it’s a soft, gentle, soapy floral.
Still, is it something Grace Kelly would wear on her wedding day? I don’t see her as the type to wear a shrinking violet scent. I picture Grace Kelly in something more regal, more beautiful and forward, like Hermes 24 Fauberg. Fleurissimo is so gentle and too clean for a woman as beautiful and powerful as she. If the story is she did not want to compete with real flowers, then this may have been the right choice. It will not compete.
I will use this sample up and then Fleurissimo and I will part ways as friends, not lovers.

I remember where I smelled this before… it was the same scent that was in Pacquin’s Hand Cream… which sadly is no longer made. it makes me love this scent just because of the memories attached to it.

This is so pretty and feminine. Someone from my childhood wore this and I can’t remember who it was. Maybe one of my elementary school teachers. But I wear this now. And I love it. There is something about the Bulgarian rose that just relaxes me and reminds me of my childhood.
va912 – :
One of the lovelier offerings from Creed, an old school floral bouquet that conjures images of civilized tea parties and well mannered ladies with lace gloves.
Strictly for violet lovers, since the note dominates the entire composition. It’s not quite as sultry as Joy, nor as raucous as Fracas, nor as spritzy as Chanel n 5, but it does the job nicely.
In short, a good prim tuberose without guile. Particularly nice powdery orris-sandalwood drydown.
(4/5-powdery floral)
atorreteothed – :
Absolutely for the fine floral connoisseur!
I decided to try this at last, knowing that I don’t usually go for the classic floral style.
Fleurissimo doesn’t change my mimnd on that, but nonetheless this is one of the best florals I’ve sampled – yes indeed it definitely conjures up Grace Kelly – the sort of classically dressed women who’s comfortable in well-tailored (perhaps slightly conservative style) clothes.
It’s the perfume equivalent to a beautiful couture floral-print dress in pastel or ivory shades. I’m definitely more of an arty/ethnic style creative person – unfortunately if I wear something like white trousers and a blue blazer I look slightly insane!
It’s funny how these styles just do or don’t suit us – it’s very much to do with personality too, so I don’t think you have to be a blue-eyed blonde to suit Fleurissimo either. I can imagine it working great on an elegantly dressed dark or red-haired woman too.
Anyway, enough about the style – what’s lovely about this is that after the slightly floral-soap opening (prominent lily of the valley ala Dirorissimo, I don’t find the tuberose strong) it dries down to a more abstract, warm and subtly musky bouquet (ambergris). No skank though, this is a very well behaved perfume. A certain freshness is also retained into drydown – not green as such, but dew-drop-like.
Excellent as florals go, if I’m reincarnated as an elegant Grace Kelly lookylike, this would be ‘the one’!
Sillage and longevity moderate. The lily of the valley fresh floral aspects last amazingly long on clothes.
Redboy-garinich – :
This is a very potent and beautiful floral fragrance. I can’t describe it, but it lasts for hours and hours on my skin and is quite strong. I only used two sprays and it was very noticeable. I like it very much. It has a vintage smell that is timeless and classic. I recommend testing first. Do not blind buy this.
IVANUB – :
Florals, can’t live without them!
Creed FLEURISSIMO – first blast whew – I get YSL Paris very sharp, next comes a nose full of L’air Du Temps then you get a hint of gum Wrigley’s Doublemint. Then poof where did it go? Vanished into thin air. It brings to mind summer 1972 the last time I spent an entire weekend with my Beautiful Auntie Lee in her gorgeous California Bungalow the guest bath filled with all the newest bath products Rexall Pharmacy had to offer as she was a Retail Gift and Sundries Buyer-Manager at the store. You get the point right, something about this smells vintage, Ladies bath suds Faberge or Yardley maybe. I really want to love Fleurissimo but the disappointment comes with cost vs the disappearing act this fragrance plays,It is more clean than flower bouquet, but on me – it is just so thin. J’adore or L’air du temps last so much longer and have a thicker floral sillage for less cost but no hint of minty pepper which I get with this FLEURISSIMO does lime smell like minty pepper?
na60d – :
This goes on a soapy old-world vintage floral with depth, power and sweetness. It projects well and is not a skin scent. The tuberose is on top with violet and iris as backup singers. I don’t smell any citrus, ambergris or rose. Maybe a hint of rose on the drydown. Little aldehyde but not sharp or bitter like a chypre. Lovely.
InnoffLixRift – :
I don’t understand why this scent along with a few other Creed scents are considered signature fragrances of some lovely famous women. I am wondering if the decant I ordered are authentic. The perfumed court claims everything they sell is authentic and before dropping the big bucks on a full bottle I decided to order some samples. Very disappointed, this scent along with the other 2, white love and spring flowers are nothing special. Flowery, linear, a bit synthetic and fade within the hour. I’m glad staying power wasn’t long because though I didn’t hate it, it smelled like bar soap, not terrible but not what I like.
So is it me? Is Creed simply a house of perfume I should not even consider like Chanel. Most chanel scents smell rancid on me. Coco mademoiselle is the only one that is semi nice on me.
Sad, I had such high hopes. Spent some money ordering a number of different samples but if indeed these scents are so boring and linear I am glad I tried them before committing to a bottle.
zagros1005 – :
I hate to rain on everyone’s parade, but Creed as a perfume house did not exist in 1956. The internet is full of information on this company, who , it seems, only appeared in the perfume market in the seventies. Claims to have created perfume for movie stars and crowned heads ( queen Victoria and Empress Eugenie) would therefore be sheer fantasy, I have always thought it odd that all the celebrity clients are no longer with us, and so cannot dispute their claims. This should not stop the enjoyment of the perfume, if it is to your taste,
Jennifer.

Decadent, sharp at first, but gorgeous. A bit too floral for my tastes, but I will keep my tester around for when I’m feeling particularly glamourous.
Mr_tramp – :
I bought Fleurissimo because I wanted a “powdery” perfume, but it doesn’t really seem to be very powdery to me. It is highly floral as the name suggests and a bit too sharp to start. It does settle down but doesn’t have much longevity or sillage. A bit disappointing given the price.
kiev8 – :
I wore this today and its sooo beautiful ! I usually hate powdery perfumes…but this one’s a beauty. I agree with an earlier post that this easily goes to my top 5 ! And I have a very sharp nose that hates powdery florals… Wow…..
Basurec – :
All of Creeds perfumes seem to be very delicate. This opens very green with a lot of bergamot making it very sour to begin with. It then becomes more powdery and smells like tuberose sitting in a vase with a hint of violets.
Let’s forget that this was Grace Kelly’s perfume for a minute and imagine another wearer based on how the perfume smells – a conservative librarian or intellectual. Someone very coy and demure. Mouse brown hair tied back, possibly wearing tweed clothing.
Sillage seems moderate.

Creed’s Fleurissimo opens with a sharp citrus top note of bergamot and some very green tuberose. After the bergamot settles, Fleurissimo gets sweeter with powdery violets and soft rose. When I first smelled Fleurissimo it was an instant LOVE for me and went straight to the top of my want list! I am so glad I got a bottle because this fragrance starts out cold with a citrusy green floral, but then gets sweeter as it warms to your skin – so delightful! It really does smells classy and would absolutely suit the very beautiful Grace Kelly. I highly recommend Fleurissimo to women who are tuberose lovers with the occasional craving for powdery sweet violets!
anyuta91 – :
O my God this is such a beautiful perfume and worth it’s high price. I’ve considered wearing it for my wedding day but I’m still looking for my perfect-for-me wedding gown fragrance. This one was worn by Hollywood blonde beauty Grace Kelly on her wedding day and it must have smelled so beautiful on her. Opens with something citric, the bergamot but also something green like flower stems, reminds me of a flower shop. The flowers are soft but strong. It’s got iris, rose, tuberose and violet. I love floral fragrances and this one is so romantic. I don’t know what ambergris is but I know I like it! It turns the fragrance into powder, soft powder. This is like a little angel of a perfume. I love this fragrance and a few others from Creed but I knew I had to have this one because I’m a big fan of Grace Kelly and model my own life after hers. Exquisitely beautiful. I recommend this for women who are already hooked on floral fragrances.

Grace Kelly’s Fragrance For Her Wedding Day
Creed was commissioned to create a perfume for Grace Kelly to wear on her big day, the day she married Prince Rainier of Monaco on April 19 1956. It was the biggest wedding of the 1950’s. She left behind her Hollywood movie career, never made another movie and became a head of state, performing functions such as receiving diplomats and other heads of states from all over the world. Her wedding gown was simple but elegant and this perfume is the same way. The idea is that you are wearing a litle white bouquet but the only real dominant white flower in this fragrance is the tuberose. Fleurissimo starts of with a light fresh boozy bergamot (with aldehydes) which make it identical to Chanel aldehydes like on No. 22. But Chanels usually contain woodsy notes as base notes and this one didn’t have any wood to my nose. Rather it turns into powder. It’s a floral fragrance that dries down as powder.
Notes in Fleurissimo
Head Notes: Bergamot
Heart Notes: Iris, Tuberose, Violet, Rose
Base Notes: Ambergris
The flowers are dancing with each other. Tuberose is leading and the tube rose and rose appear to be white roses and very soft and the source of all the powder. The violet is sweet and fragrant. The iris is just there but not doing anything. The major player in this composition is the tuberose. I love tuberoses and roses so for me this was a pleasure. For fans of vintage classics and white floral scents this is for you. However I do wish they had added more white flowers like lily of the valley jasmine and gardenia. But this is soft, powdery and such a wedding perfume. Of course you don’t have to wear this just to get married. I wear it whenever I want to wear it, it’s beautiful. It’s flexible enough as both a day time and night fragrance. It is very expensive so if you have the dough this is as good a choice as Chanel No. 22 which has the same wedding dress vibe. I still prefer Chanel No. 22 to this one but this one is like wearing a piece of actual history. For a more affordable but equally powdery floral, go with something like Elizabeth Arden’s Red Door Revealed. That has more flowers and more powder! Fleurissimo is a dream. Everyone seems to love it and I can see why.
soer – :
Without question, Fleurissimo is one of my favorite tuberose fragrances! This beauty opens with a slightly sour, green note reminiscent of flower stems or damp grass clippings. The medley of iris, violet, Bulgarian rose, and tuberose is enchanting and feminine. My husband especially loves Fleurissimo because it isn’t cloying (like so many other white florals), nor musky/animalistic. The composition is linear, yet regal and timeless. Sillage is average; longevity is about 3 hours.
speendydiople – :
I wore this perfume for the first time today and she catapulted straight into my top 5.
FLEURISSIMO is a fresh, green bouquet of flowers. We have all experienced this scent — standing in a garden of spring flowers during a sunny day when a cool breeze is blowing softly. It’s truly awe provoking how natural this fragrance smells; it is not synthetic in the least. It is airy and light, flowery, refined.
My husband loved this fragrance on me. So much so that he nuzzled his nose into my neck and spontaneously gave me a message!
The longevity is superb. As I write this, 10 hours after application, I can smell a soft powdery tuberose. The sillage is nice, within arms’ length. Today, I received several compliments on this beauty. More importantly, this frag makes me feel carefree and happy.
RuzvM – :
I can smell the rose … too powdery on my skin so far … smells clean … but not the elegant Hollywood glamour Grace Kelly that I expected :((

I’m trying to figure out if Creed is telling the truth about this perfume’s history.
So. Does anyone here definitively recall owning a bottle of this prior to 1975? Please PM me if this is the case.
Of course, if you owned *any* Creed fragrance prior to 1975, please also PM me.
If you *didn’t* own a bottle prior to 1975 and wish only to take me to task for being a “Creed hater” or some such thing, don’t bother. Same if you want to inform me that prior to 1975 they were only making scents for the rich and famous. I’ve heard that.
I am seeking evidence (not hearsay or copy from Creed’s website) of Creed being producers of perfume prior to 1975.
jvxmqybazez – :
I like the femininity of this fragrance although it is not my favorite from CREED, like another reviewer below, I prefer Jasmine Imperatrice Eugenie. However, I still find it beautifully blended and there is a certain softness to it but the presence is there. The tuberose is not overpowering even if it is the strongest note I am getting. I think it adds a classic and elegant touch to the wearer. Missk’s review below is spot on and worth reading.

avo_post – :
I adore Fleurissimo; it’s just about everything I want in a perfume. It starts out very strong on me but very quickly dries down to the most enchanting floral bouquet I could possibly imagine.
It is so perfectly blended. I’m a bit wary of tuberose because when it dominates, it overwhelms me; but here it’s so well blended with the rose and violet and iris, and the whole sweet floral bouquet sharpened and balanced with the tang of bergamot, I feel like I’m in spring garden heaven.
In fact, part of the appeal of Fleurissimo for me is the way it makes me feel; wearing it, I feel uplifted, joyful even. It really does have that effect on me!
The only negative for me is poor longevity – I need to respray every 2 hours, maybe because I’m very fair skinned, but that’s a very small quibble for such a divine fragrance. Love it!
doldthoks – :
Just tried once and couldn’t stand it. Smells like a bouquet of flowers in a cemetery… Cheap and not well balanced – something that tried to be sophisticated but went all way wrong because it is very old lady stuck back in time, in my opinion. That was quite surprising because it was very well recommended.
minogin89 – :
Of all the Creed scents for women, Fleurissimo is quite possibly the most well-known, having been commissioned for Grace Kelly’s wedding day back in 1956. Not surprisingly this wedding day fragrance contains buttery tuberose, an array of flowers and a hint of crisp, citrusy bergamot.
In my personal opinion this is not the best fragrance from Creed, (Jasmin Imperatrice Eugenie surpasses it in the white floral category), however I must admit that it is indeed very pretty and elegant on the skin. It strikes me as a somewhat soft and airy white floral, perfectly suited to the warmer months.
Creed’s price tags are sometimes hard to come at, so before parting with your hard earned cash you want something that is guaranteed to last. The only unfortunate thing about Fleurissimo is the longevity. I find myself having to re-apply it every five hours, which is disappointing.
I really do admire the freshness of this fragrance but when it comes to tuberose I much prefer the stronger scents like Robert Piguet’s Fracas and Estee Lauder’s Tuberose Gardenia. Fleurissimo is a tad too delicate and polite for my liking.
The beautiful Grace Kelly would have worn this scent well. As a conservative and loyal Princess, Fleurissimo’s delicate white floral aroma would have been very befitting to her character.
stranger87 – :
By rights, I should hate this perfume. It’s a fairly spineless, pillowy mixed floral. It smells more like a rose face cream from the 1960s than a perfume. It’s not just a perfume that I should dislike, it’s exemplary of a genre that I do dislike.
But the fun of a genre that you dismiss is that it creeps up on you and jumps you from behind every now and again. I despise romantic comedies, straight and queer alike. Still, every few years I’ll watch The Philadelphia Story.
Fleurissimo is my Philadelphia Story of the soft pink floral genre, the genre I dismiss without consideration. In its favor, though I might call Fleurissimo spineless, it starts with a balanced, diaphanous tone that, if you like this sort of thing, ain’t half bad. It grows rosy and fuzzy yet never falls apart. Eventually, and smartly, a tartness enters the picture, and saves the perfume from landing on the fainting couch as a bad period-piece.
Like The Philadelphia Story Fleurissimo surpasses its genre and asks the jaded audience member to reconsider both the baby and the bath water.

Perfumes for queens and emperors is a legend built par Creed .
Have you ever seen vintage bottles of very old Creed anywhere , like Caron , Guerlain , Molyneux on ebay or anywhere else ?
.
They made gloves , clothes , jackets for the royalties since 1760, that’s right .
At the beginning , they were tailors (and they played on these dates to make believe about perfumes since that time) .
Then they made perfumes in the seventies . So everything said about the perfumes made for Cary Grant , W. Churchill, Grace Kelly , Marlene Dietrich and so on is pure legend .
It”s so true , that now on their site , they don’t mention this any more …
Anyway they made beautiful perfumes and Fleurissimo is one of them , a very well educated tuberose , never cloying , surrounded by a elegant rose , on a beautiful ambregris ( typical of many Creed’s perfumes ) : it’s spring in bloom coming to offer you the most beautiful perfumes in the air by a sunny day , on the french riviera …

For me, this is THE PRETTIEST, LOVELIEST creation to come from Creed (based on the ones I’ve smelled thus far). Everything about it makes me think of Grace Kelly, and it is most definitely worthy of her! This scent, while soft and delicate, is truly royal. What a luxury to have in my modest collection!
It is reminiscent of warm, spring days and smells like pure happiness! It is entirely feminine and graceful (no pun intended) without being girly.
That having been said, it is best suited to daytime wear and I tend to wear it casually on a regular basis. While it is far from overpowering, Fleurissimo lingers on my skin for many hours and compliments my chemistry quite beautifully. It is not my absolute favorite fragrance of all time, but it is among my most beloved scents. It is anything but common and I love it dearly as one of my special go-to perfumes. I doubt I will ever find anything quite as beautiful and purely feminine as Creed’s Fleurissimo.

At first, Fleurissimo is almost overwhelming, but quickly dries down to an exquisite scent. It lasts very lightly on my skin almost all day, where most scents are gone in a few hours. It is a very beautiful, uplifting scent, wonderful for spring & summer days (now it’s early fall, but I’m going to wear it anyhow). The history of the scent being created for Grace Kelly’s wedding day is so wonderful, as those WERE the days of elegant beauty, class, and understated femininity. Today, every “star” in today’s oversexed, nude & crude in-your-face over-crowded field has a crappy perfume line sold in TJMaxx and Marshall’s long after their star has fizzled out.
Love the perfume, and will wear it very often!
Zelib0ba – :
After hearing this was made for Princess Grace I asked for this as a gift. I was expecting a fresh flower garden or a bouquet of fragrant flowers. Unfortunatly on me this smells like a chemical perming solution or poison. No tuberose, no flowers at all. I love Creed and their scents but this one is not for me.
I went to Creed to see if the other bottles smelled like this as well. They did. I’m marking this off my list. Creed has many other worthy fragrances much better than this one. This may smell dazzling on you, though, but try it on your skin first.
Player9999 – :
At first not that offensive, but like many other Creed fragrances I’ve tried that feature ambergris, the perfume dried down to flower throw up on my skin. I’d say the moniker “fleurissmo” (the most flowery) would probably better suit their Spring Flower.

My first Creed perfume which I tried. I love Creed because of Fleurissimo. I think it’s scent is really royal and special for upper class. Good combination among many floral notes that I like. That’s why I love Creed perfume thenceforth.
Moderate sillage but nice longevity on me.
sega555s – :
I really wanted to love this one. There is much that is very pretty about it. The florals are pure, light and lovely. But, as with many Creed fragrances, there is a sour note that comes out when I spray it on my skin. I tried this one 3 or 4 times, spraying at different times of day, different weather and it made no difference. I could smell the lovely florals, but the basenotes came out as a sourish scent like you get when you bite into an unripe fruit.
I am sad because this is so pretty, but it does not work for me.
alik68 – :
A dress, a smile and this scent… nothing more. I see it as unique, a masterpiece. I see light, white flowers, a woman that knows what she wants with a gentle touch. Royal smelling rich floral fragrance!
It smells like a bright floral bouquet of the noble iris note with the intensive tuberose, ylang-ylang and violet leaves notes on the not overpowering amber base.
It’s so rich and intensive that it really brings associations with a word “royal”. Besides, this fragrance smells very natural.
Actually, it’s more interesting in the beginning because lately I feel more floral sourness.
I like that there is no annoying sweetness in this fragrance. It really makes this fragrance more classy.
The lasting power of this fragrance is very good and its sillage is really strong.
I like Fleurissimo a lot. It smells really noble and luxurious. It’s my favorite by Creed.

I know an exquisite lady who wears this perfume, and I love and admire Fleurissimo!
I cannot afford Creed perfumes (and I would want to first confirm they were cruelty free before purchasing an affordable for me sample)
