Description

The latest fragrance of the line Le Couvent des Minimes was presented in May 2009 and it was named Fleur d’Oranger – orange blossom, which wraps the skin in a very luminous and gourmand way. Orange blossom oil has been used in many monasteries, as balm or medicine to soften the skin and improve the mood, since the 14th century. According to an old tradition of Sisters missionaries from Morocco, who visited the monastery, formulas were made which are still used to create the highest quality essential oils in the monastery. This recipe is used in making the new fragrance of the house.

Delicate aromas of essential oils of orange blossom offer spring on a palm, together with a Mediterranean embrace of blossoming orange tree, which evokes scents of childhood, happiness, airiness, excitement… Fleur d’Oranger opens with a citrusy-fruity wave of mandarin, raspberry, orange and sparkling fruit. A heart features orange blossom, jasmine, petit grain, resting on a gourmand and warm base of vanilla, precious wood and musk. The fragrance is available as 50 ml (1.7 oz) EDT, as a limited edition.

Two accompanying products are also available: 250ml Gentle Shower Gel and 250ml Corps Douceur.

This perfume is adorable!!! It is very french! Like the reviewer below me said it smells like fruity pebbles on my skin… which extremely charming and delightful! She’s (addicted2perfume) is also the sweet fragrantican that gifted this to me THANK YOU!!! It smells quite simple… pure sweet orange with warm jasmine and vanilla. Words like cute, adorable and charming sum this perfume up!

Fleur d`Oranger by Le Couvent des Minimes smells like fruity pebbles cereal mixed with orange pez candy, mmm-mmm-good! The orange flower in this is so lovely and as it dries down I smell the jasmine with just a hint of vanilla. I got this in a swap from a very kind fragranctia member and I am really enjoying it!

I LOVE how this thing smells in the bottle. I cannot stand how it smells on my skin. It doesn’t change with my chemistry, it’s not that… it’s just hard to explain. I’ll just say that I easily imagine this becoming a HUGE LOVE to some people.
I get sweet oranges and orange blossom for this. Almost syrupy. The combination is just beautiful. (Did I mention I’m sad it didn’t work for me?…)

    I LUUURRRVVVV this perfume.
Smells like a spring vaca . I used to wear it on trips to Disney World, and now I associate it with spring, and happy Florida vacation times.

I keep trying to come back to this one, like some glutton for punishment. The scent is gorgeous and reminiscent of walking or driving past orange groves. Very Florida-esque. HOWEVER, my personal skin and chemistry clashes horribly with the scent whenever I try it on myself. I enjoy the scent on other people, but not myself. On me, it is intense wood and musk rising along with the orange blossom to suffocate me in its invasion. Love the scent, just not on me. This one’s definitely one of my kryptonite fragrances.

The sweet scent of orange blossoms carried on the breeze. Like pure golden sunshine in a bottle. It is an essential spring fragrance and one of the best orange blossom perfumes out there.

A simple, clean, sweet, fresh feminine fragrance. Simple yet stylish and “niche”. An all time favorite.

Soft, soapy orange blossom, with just a touch of indoles- reminiscent of Lorenzo Villerosi’s Dilmun- the scent blooms beautifully on warmed skin-

Beautiful fragrance from L’Occitane’s Le Couvent des Minimes. Very similar to the Cologne of Love and you get a much better value from the Cologne of Love. The fragrance layers beautifully and if you are an Orange Blossom person, it is an absolute steal. For those who are having trouble finding this, BeautyBridge.com ships internationally from the USA.

I get a strong zesty quality from this, just like freshly peeled orange, in conjunction with naturally sweet mandarin juice. An absolute bargain!

This is a sweet orange blossom, reminds me of the orange cookies my sister makes for the holidays. A little sweet perhaps for warmer weather but great for spring. Very natural smelling vanilla and oranges, sweet without ever becoming artificial or plasticky. Lasts well, and it’s really well blended — the orange and the vanilla compliment each other, neither one overpowers the other.

I so wanted to like this and I actually did but not as personal scent! It smells so foody and sweet! It smells exactly like gorgeous fresh-made pastiera from Naples. Orange blossom water is a key ingredient for pastiera. Lovely to eat and smell, but too foody to be worn.

Le Couvent des Minimes FLEUR D’ORANGER is a sweet orange blossom perfume similar to my nose to By Kilian SWEET REDEMPTION. The big difference is that rather than benzoin, this composition has a clean musk base. But the effect is very similar to my nose.
To be honest, I think that FLEUR D’ORANGER is better blended and more perfumic than the By Kilian, which is a bit too sugary for my taste. In this perfume, part of the sweetness appears to be imparted by fruits.
Le Couvent des Minimes is a proud producer of all-natural products, and among the ingredients explicitly listed on the box are:
    orange peel oil
    mandarin orange peel oil
    bitter orange leaf/twig oil
    bitter orange flower extract
It really does smell all natural and, unlike some all-natural compositions, this one smells very smooth and perfumey. FLEUR D’ORANGER does not smell like a simple mixture of essential oils, as sometimes happens with these sorts of perfumes.
All in all, I’d say that if you like SWEET REDEMPTION, you’d do well to acquire a bottle of this modestly priced, all-natural celebration of sweet orange blossom. I actually think that it is better, even ignoring the radical difference in price.

There’s something incredibly soothing about this perfume – something that feels just ‘right’. I’ve recently purchased the perfume after totally falling in love with the body cream. In a strange way this scent takes me back to the happiest moments of my childhood, spent with my grandmother in her beautiful home and lush garden. I wear the body cream whenever my lover (who lives far off) comes over to spend the night – he never fails to take a piece of garment or bedding back home with him to sniff at … so cute.
I love perfumes, always have, and have a very large variety of them. But this scent stands out. Wonderfully uplifitng, warming and well – soothing.
    Love, love, love it!

I too have an original of this, and I adore it. I especially like to use it with Kiss My Face’s Peaceful Patchouli liquid soap. For me, the two together are reminiscent of Lush’s Karma, but far more effervescent and ethereal. By itself, FO actually smells a little like Chantecaille’s Frangipane, but more citrus-y. No matter what though, every time I wear this scent, it makes me feel light and JOYOUS!

I bought some of this when I was on holiday in Bruge, it’s absolutely gorgeous, a real good one to cheer you up and make you think of sunny holidays. I have to say unlike many more expensive perfumes I’ve purchased it lasted all day. Unfortunately I liked it so much it’s now all gone trying to find somewhere I can buy this from the UK is proving difficult.

I have the original limited edition of this, so glad it was re-released! It is a lovely and feminine orange blossom touched with vanilla that has a simple charm. It is just soapy enough to be perfect on a hot day, but not so much that it smells like all the others of its kind. I really love it. I hope they brought back the body cream too – it’s to die for!
