I didn’t actually order this one, it was included as a free sample with my 10 sample order. However I really wanted to try it, so I’m thankful that Brent included it. It is very linear and I’m super ok with that. There’s not enough linear and simple frags that smell good on their own.
It comes across as fizzy, much like Cade by L’Occitane or Yo Mama Fizz by SB. I’m not sure what note brings the fizz, but it’s very nice. I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s caramel or a cigar box, it’s not overwhelmingly sweet and not a caramel vibe, it’s like a freshly bought humidor when you first season it with water. The wood is wet, but there’s no tobacco in sight. It’s very simple and pleasant. I would layer this with something else simple if I bought a bottle.

Yayyy this has exceeded my expectations! Mainly because it’s a cedar bomb (just as I was mourning over Dr. Dreidel 3000)! Also, I was worried that the caramel would be too cloying, but turned out quite translucent 🙂
I was hoping for a more full-bodied tobacco note though, but like a natural wooden cigar box that is empty, only trace-smoke remains.

This one simply does not last or project on me. I have an official decant so IDK what the issue is especially after reading Nosey’s review. I get a little sweetness and very shy woods from opening til finish. About an hour tops is all I get after 2 wearings. Once in the summer and once now.

Wow! A read of the previous reviews shows just how different our sense of smell is. Cigarettes? Stale ash trays? I don’t get that at all. In fact, my first impression was too sweet.
This is actually pretty good, especially at the price point.
It opens with a very sweet caramel but the tobacco soon makes an entrance adding a little depth. Later the cedar emerges but ever so slightly – just enough to keep Five from being overly sweet.
A very good fragrance with good longevity and OK sillage.

I really like this one ! The opening and the overall feeling of it reminds me a lot of L’Artisan Bois Farine : it has that kind of sweet and soft powderyness of the flour that french bakers put on top of some special types of bread… It’s really lovely, but not as sweet or complex as Bois Farine. I feel like it’s truly unisex, because all the notes are nicely balanced between one another : it’s not too sweet nor too woodsy, and the cedar freshens everything up in very delicate yet beautiful way.

Opens with an ashtray smell, When the ashy Tobacco note fades, the cedarwood is the prominent note, very astringent and then the sweetness peeks through Just a little. On my skin this lasted nothing with medium sillage, but I got the edt travel spray as a gift for their fifth anniversary so I’m not complaining. Compared to the other smell bent edts that I purchased this is the less oily of the bunch, so it May be why it’s longevity is affected. Perhaps the pure oil would make the perfume last longer with more sillage.

FIVE is a tobacco caramel sexy ashtray kind of a scent. this is what I imagine Mads Mikkelsen smells like. (this is a positive review.)

I enjoy this one. It definitely smells of cedar, in the way that a cozy cabin smells of cedar. The sweetness comes through but isn’t overwhelming. It’s a comforting scent and smells familiar for some reason. I don’t get much of the tobacco smell which I’m okay with. This is definitely a FB for me!

The opening is quite bitter. I think it’s a combination of the cedar and the tobacco, leaving more of a stale tobacco smoke impression than a sweet tobacco smell. The cedar is very prominent in the opening. After a half an hour the caramel is very sweet and softens the composition some, but that opening is very sharp. I like tobacco as a note, but combined with the cedar it’s too astringent in the opening. Interesting but not anything I would buy a full bottle of. Test before you buy.

Smells like peanut butter cookies, cigarettes, and pencil shavings. Odd, but very pleasant indeed! Someone told me it smells like heaven, and like pine. Quite linear. The peanut butter smell, which may be nutmeg, lingers and reminds me of Laura Mercier Minuit Enchante. The cats at the local animal shelter loved it, especially a couple of the neurotic ones. Make of that what you will. Seems to have a calming effect.
